Magnic Spire. The world's tallest man-made construction to date. Even the floating cities of Loretoudem do not fly higher than this monstrous tower. It is said in the tales of old, that this spire was built to intimidate evildoers, for this was the main hub of the nation's military and police force. The headquarters of justice, some would call it. But the Magnic Spire is much more than just that. No, the Magnic Spire represents more than that. It represents honor, glory, and dreams. It is the place that young children dream of reaching. It is the place where legends go, to climb the tower's staircase to the limits of the world and beyond, into the Legend's Country.

It is also the place where the stories of these legends start.

One character stands at the foot of the black spire, her head craned upward, as if searching for the country overhead. But she cannot see it, no one can see the city, and for that reason, some think it does not exist. But this young woman here believes.

Crystal focuses on nothing but the spire, looking over the details of Magnic Spire. It was built a long time ago, and those building it were in a hurry to finish, so there wasn't much detail. Just black and red stone. But the spire's magnificence came not from the stone, but from it's massive body. Such a structure was thought to be impossible to build, to pierce even the world's atmosphere at that time was almost blasphemous. Of course, so were floating cities in the sky. Much has changed in the past few hundred years.

Many others were walking around the spire, looking up at it like Crystal was, but they seemed less interested in the spire and more with making friends. The young pilot saw none of them as potential allies or partners, at least none of the ones she saw. Some approached her, but soon gave up when she didn't respond to them. Crystal was obviously not someone willing to make friends so off-handed.

The doors were not yet opened, and the 18-year-olds were starting to empty out of the ships they came on. Magnic Spire was surrounded on all sides by the ocean, and the plot of land that they stood on outside Magnic Spire was warm and hard, entirely stone. It was rare that grass ever grew in this country, but occasionally you could see a tuft of it lying about. Eventually, Crystal moved away from the groups that were starting to form. She didn't like large groups, but had no problem with people in general. Crystal was a very friendly person, but that didn't mean she went out of her way to make everyone happy. That would just exhaust her.

A bird screeched overhead and Crystal looked up. It was Pilot, her Braviary, back from scouting around the island. He was still high up in the air, so he looked relatively small, but as he got closer, it became obvious that Pilot was by no means small. He was a large bird, and fierce-looking too, many of those watching stepped away as he landed next to Crystal.

"Pilot, did you have a good flight?" Crystal crowed, reaching out with a gloved hand to pet the mane of feathers around the back of the bird's neck. Pilot gave a low rumble, shifting his wings slightly. He was wearing a leather saddle, similar in make to Crystal's own sky suit. He could easily carry Crystal's weight, and still have good maneuverability. If Crystal intended to go someplace, she could rely on him.

"Did you find anything to eat?" Crystal asked, still petting the bird. He responded by bumping his massive head into Crystal's gut, so she chuckled. "Good boy. You know, all these other boys and girls are scared of you. I feel like I've lost my cute little Rufflet now." Crystal laughed aloud, Pilot gave another low rumble and looked around at the nearby kids. They shirked away under his intense stare. "Oh, don't scare them all away, we'll never make friends if everyone is so frightened by you." In truth, Crystal hoped to scare the cowards away, and only them. If they were afraid of a pokemon, obviously with a trainer who knew what she was doing, then Crystal didn't want them. She wanted to make friends with the intelligent and brave.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

One of the ships carrying many of the future travelers to the Magnic Spire was featuring a rather... interesting display. In the right corner positioned away from the doors that would eventually lead out onto the spire's island, a rather large bubble of space was formed. Many teens stood either confused or just the slightest bit off put by the girl who sat in the corner with a Wooper on the edge of her lap, Glaceon by her feet, and a very brightly colored ukelele in her arms. She was strumming happily with a cheerful grin, a rather... interesting tune falling off her lips.

Adventure time
c'mon grab your friends,
we'll go to very
distant lands.

With my pokemon
and soon-found friends, the
fun'll never end,
it's adventure time!

Most of the other teens just stood there with an awkward smile as she came to a finish with one final strum on her instrument. Further away from her there were quite a few whispers and there were several times when someone covered the word freak with a cough. She either did not hear them or chose to ignore them and instead began to play again, this time merely humming the same tune as before. This continued several times before the captain of their little ship announced over the speaker that they were coming up on the Magnic Spire. As if on cue the girl shot up, throwing her ukelele into her bag and taking her Wooper in her arms in its stead.

"Come on, Yuki-chan! Adventure time~" she proclaimed loudly, before scrambling towards the door at a breakneck pace. The Glaceon, now known by everyone on the ship as Yuki-chan, dashed off after her master, offering a slight yip in response to her exclamation. The other teens, too flustered to stop the rather eccentric girl, moved out of her way and cramped into the corners, forming another bubble of distance away from her.

The girl stood with her nose pressed up against the window until the captain's voice came over the intercom again. "Miss Nanette, if you could please remove yourself from the window." his voice, even though somewhat lost over the machine interface, showed a heavy trace of disappointment. Elli ignored this however and merely stood back with a smile on her face, squeezing the water-type in her arms tightly. Seeing no other response a sigh could be heard from the captain's quarters and he flipped a switch causing the doors to begin opening.

The second they were open enough for her to worm her way through that is exactly what Elli did, leaving everyone else in her dust. Yuki-chan followed after her matching her pace almost perfectly, falling behind on slightly so as to keep with her master's direction. Those left behind stared uncomfortably, some laughter breaking out after she was completely gone. The ship resounded with 'What's her problem?' and 'What a freak!' and 'No one is going to travel with her!'. How wrong they would be.

"Woah!" was the single exclamation that rang out rather noisily from the young adult as she took in the Magnic Spire. It was enormous, and even if it lacked detail it was still a sight to behold. To think this was where her journey was starting! It would probably be overwhelming for some people, but Elli merely plastered an equally enormous grin to her face. This was going to be the time of her life!

"Can you believe it?" Elli asked aloud, though this time more quietly than when she had first voiced her opinion of the spire. Her pokemon, obviously being the only ones she was talking to, responded with cries of happiness also, the Wooper in her arms struggling just a bit against her grip. She just chuckled and bounced on her heels before dashing off again, this time to get an even closer look as if it would change somehow by doing so. Once again Glaceon followed after her closely, staying just a step behind her.

As was to be expected the spire did not change in the slightest, other than appearing even taller, as she got closer. What did change, however, was the company around her. The trainers that had been peeling off their ships had been further from the spire and were talking amongst themselves. Where she was now, there seemed to be a mix match of formed groups, people that wanted to get away from the crowds, and people still looking for friends. Elli was quick to scan through the others, not entirely looking for someone to travel with, but just for someone to talk to for a bit.

It only took her a moment to locate a girl who was standing close to a Braviary, one who seemed rather protective of her figure. Completely ignoring the intimidating stare he was throwing everyone nearby, Elli trotted up to the girl and her pokemon, her grin still stuck on her face. "Hello~" she chimed happily, shifting the Wooper in her arms so that she had a free hand. Hastily holding said free hand out for the girl to possibly take, Elli's grin grew even more (if that was even possible) and her eyes seemed to sparkle. "Can you believe this? It's almost adventure time! I'm so excited~" she added, her voice like machine-gun fire.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

The seas were calm, and the air was filled with the smell of salt as a warm breeze blew across the deck of the large ship that had departed from the Adamites region not too long ago. The pace of the seafaring vessel had picked up substantially, and it was now headed full-force to where Magnic Spire rested in the distance. It was impossible not to see it, for its height was so immense that it was rumored to pierce the very heavens. Others said the top was technically in outer space. It was hard to tell since not just anybody could waltz up to the top. Regardless, everyone on the ship at that moment knew that they would rightfully reach the top. They were all 18 year olds who were about to undergo a journey of self-discovery and absolute trial. Those who could find themselves truly and become stronger would be made the stuff of legends, taking their rightful place at Magnic Spire. For now, their visit to the massive construct was just the beginning.

A young man stood at the side of the ship overlooking the gentle waves. The cry of Wingull could be heard from the air, and every once in a while, a Mantine would dive out of the water, glissading through the air before diving back into the sea. The ocean breeze tousled the young man's jet black hair which caused him to put his black hat back on, for he had taken it off prior. Brilliant, light blue eyes gazed out, a somewhat satisfied smirk plastered on his pale face. His clothes were all black which seemed odd given that the day was rather hot and sunny. Standing next to him was a rather pensive Lucario who also gazed out across the waters. He placed a paw on the young man's shoulders and gave him a quick glance.

"Am I nervous? Ha! That's a good one," the fellow replied confidently to his pokemon's gesture. "We've been working for this moment for a long time right? Are you nervous, Aurux?"

The Lucario, Aurux, removed his paw from his trainer's shoulder and growled slightly in response to dictate that he was most certainly not nervous. His trainer, who preferred to be called Cyan over his real name, was confident for a reason. They had been training for a long time--ten years to be exact. In that time, they both had become a fighting team that was best avoided. They could wreck most of the trainers they came across. It was all thanks to experience and training, as was natural. Still, deep inside, Aurux couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated by the daunting Magnic Spire that loomed in the distance. He and Cyan were from Starshine Quarry back in Adamites, and they had mostly just battled trainers that lived in the town or visited it. Now, people that were likely to be just as strong if not stronger were all being gathered at one place. There would be a lot more diversity in battle styles. To both of them, it would be a new experience.

Cyan seemed to read his pokemon's thoughts easily. "Tch, whatever we don't win, we'll learn from, yeah?" he shot at Aurux with a playful smirk. "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger." It was one of his favorite sayings. A pleased look overtook him as he noticed that Aurux was starting to feel relaxed. A slap on the back caused him to jump and turn around to see one of his friends from Starshine Quarry. The guy was quite heavyset and had short, brown hair. He wore a maroon t-shirt and a black leather jacket with matching black leather pants. He gazed down at Cyan, for he was much taller, though he didn't remove the black shades he was wearing.

"Yo, Cyanide. Givin' this ol' guy a pep talk?" the guy said in a very deep voice, gesturing with a fat finger towards Aurux who just rolled his eyes before crossing his arms over his chest.

"Hey, Jason. Yeah, just a case of the nerves. Can't blame him though," Cyan said simply, reaching his hand to Aurux and rubbing the Lucario's back. "I know you were shaking in your boots yesterday. Tanya told me about it." Cyan raised his free hand to his hand and laughed into it.

"Tch! You and that feminine laugh," Jason growled, casting a sidelong glance at the sea. "My sister'd say anythin' to lower my rep. You can't believe her!"

"You sure do seem to be quite shaken up. Doesn't he, Aurux?" He watched as Aurux nodded in affirmation. "That's settled then."

Jason huffed and turned his back on the duo. "Ah, fuck it. I'm gonna get some damn food. I just wanted to see how you were doin', and to let ya know that I'm gonna mop the floor with ya if I see you out and about on the journey." That said, the fellow marched off, his heavy footsteps quite audible until he managed to clear a lot of distance between himself and Cyan.

Cyan just shrugged and returned to gazing out at the sea with Aurux. So Jason was supposed to be his rival? He'd feel threatened if the guy wasn't an absolute pushover. How did he even manage to board the ship? The guy just rolled his eyes and yawned. He had woken up really early, unable to get adequate sleep the night before. He had even laid off the energy drinks and still couldn't seem to get settled. It was going to be hard adjusting to this new schedule. What was surprising was that Aurux seemed to be just fine, for he knew that the Lucario was quite fond of energy drinks. He noticed that a couple had been missing from his stock earlier in the morning meaning Aurux definitely decided to sneak some when Cyan was asleep. More willpower, maybe? Cyan mused in his mind while rubbing his eyes. He was tempted to let Edea out to get some air, but there were way too many people around to do that. The Misdreavus was well-trained, but still, with this many people around, she would be greatly tempted to perform some mischief and trickery. It would be like letting a kid go rampant in a candy store.

Sighing, he decided against that course of action and waited until the captain's voice rang out via intercom telling them that the ship would be docking at the base of Magnic Spire in a few minutes. Cyan turned to gaze upon the construct that was much closer now. The red and black were nice touches, but it would be even better if the red were replaced with blue. Now that would be a tower worthy of one such as himself. Ah well, the red would just have to do. The boat slowly came to a stop next to a wooden dock. There were other ships docked at the spire's base which must have came from the other countries. Stairs were deployed and the other trainers were allowed to depart the ship. Cyan stuck behind with Aurux to let the majority of the other people out first. There was no point in rushing; it wasn't like the doors to the spire were open yet anyway. Eventually, the number of people had dwindled and Cyan nodded his head towards the stairs to gesture for Aurux to follow him. The two made their way onto the dock and filed off towards the area where the other trainers were waiting before the spire.

Cyan stopped and looked straight up. There was no top in site. It was so surreal. Aurux tugged at his shirt nodded to some of the other people around. Listening in on their conversations, he heard some rumors of a rampaging heavyset guy in black leather, some weird singing girl that played the ukelele, and scary Braviary. "Well, I certainly know that Jason's making a name for himself out there in crowd somewhere," Cyan uttered uninterested. The other rumors didn't seem to catch his attention either, but he noticed there was a space in the crowd that seemed to be cleared. Was that a Braviary over there? Cyan pushed through the people roughly with Aurux behind him until he made it to the edge of the crowd so he could view the spectacle of a girl trying to engage what appeared to be the Braviary's trainer. Aurux came up from behind and stood behind him to watch as well, a stoic look on his face which was the same expression his trainer bore at the moment.

Maybe it would be entertaining after all.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

Just as Crystal was about to climb on Pilot, they were approached by a very young-looking girl and her two pokemon. Crystal yearned for the skies, to take flight and not have to worry about being in a claustrophobic space. Sure, she had her own little bubble of space that people gave her, but that was only because Pilot was staring them down with his unflinching gaze.

She talks fast, was the first thought that crossed through Crystal's mind when she heard the girl speak to her. The excited girl seemed friendly enough though, and she didn't seem at all frightened of Pilot, which was good. Crystal might get along with this one, and there was only one way to find out. She took the girl's hand with her own gloved hand and shook lightly.

"Yes, I'm excited too," Crystal agreed, giving a warm smile. The girl held a Wooper in her arms, and there was a Glaceon by her side. "Water and Ice, huh?" Crystal mentioned, looking down at the Glaceon. It's fur looked like silk, and shone brightly under the hot sun. Like it was made of ice. "You must be from Ikai. My name's Crystal, and my Braviary is called Pilot. I'm from Loretoudem. It's nice to meet you."

Crystal noticed some noise off in the crowds, but she couldn't see what was happening. Someone starting a fight, probably. Crystal expected fights to break out when she saw how the crowds were forming. People were anxious to get started, but still the Council wouldn't let them in the Spire. The ones around Crystal were giving glances to her every once in awhile, but Crystal noticed that one of them held their gaze. A boy, wearing black in the hot sun, with a Lucario by his side. Crystal had Pilot fight a Lucario before. It was a close fight. Too close for a victor to be declared, those pokemon were strong and intelligent.

Crystal looked the boy and his Lucario over, taking in their appearances and their expressions. They looked pretty serious. Did they want a fight? No, probably not. Crystal didn't want to make any assumptions about them. She would ignore them for now, though she might approach them later. Or she could wait for them to approach her.

Pilot gave Crystal a nudge. He was getting anxious too. Crystal had enough of being on solid ground too, but she couldn't just leave to go flying. Not with someone here, talking to her, that would be rude. Besides, they didn't know when the Council members would let them in the Spire. Crystal fingered a lock of her golden hair absentmindedly. Perhaps Ada would like some air too? No, she didn't do well in large groups or enclosed spaces. It'd be best to leave her be.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

Post by Silver Fri Aug 17, 2012 7:31 pm

Elli's delight nearly skyrocketed as the girl took her hand and shook it lightly, this definitely was better than her ride here already! When the other expressed her similar excitement about getting ready for the journey ahead, Elli had to hold in a squeal. This girl was definitely her kind of person, definitely not like the people that had been riding her her on the ship. She mentally frowned at the thought. Those people had been so rigid and apprehensive that she ended up playing her ukelele the entire trip. Not that she minded, she rather liked the song she had been singing... maybe she could play it for this girl later! She seemed like she would enjoy it a lot more than the others, however her thoughts were broken when she registered the girl's comment on her partners.

"Yup yup!" Elli chimed, a very bright smile flashing to both the girl and then down toward her pokemon. Wooper seemed to bounce just a bit in her grip before settling back into her arm, a rather silly smile on his face. Glaceon on the other hand just looked up at the other trainer, eyes rather passive, her stare one of examination. "You're right, I am from Ikai!" she responded after Crystal's introduction, her tone cheerful as always. "It's nice to meet you! My name's Elli, and this here is Woopa-chan~" she added, holding Wooper out for emphasis. Her gaze then quickly fell to the Glaceon at her feet, who remained looking at Crystal for a moment before turning her gaze away. "And that would be Yuki-chan!" she finished introducing everyone, nodding with another large smile. It must have been at least a little strange to constantly see a smile on her face, but it was obvious she was just a naturally jovial person.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

No, that certainly wasn't as interesting as he thought it'd be. Everyone else seemed to be calming down. Some were starting to murmur excitedly about other things and Cyan shrugged his shoulders. He pulled close to Aurux and whispered something in the pokemon's ear before moving off away from the crowd. Aurux gave a final look to the two girls who were making acquaintances out of each other before trailing after his trainer. Cyan definitely wanted to avoid Jason now, and he found himself growing tired of all the other people in general for that matter. He never minded being the last to get in anywhere. As a matter of fact, he went out of his way to make that so because when it came time for him to go, the path was clear instead of having to fight against a river of other people. That was the way to do it.

Cyan stopped at a small isolated spot at the edge of the crowds. The rocky ground was somewhat uneven here, and not only was it at the edge of the mass of people, but it also proved to be a ledge of the island itself. The sheer volume of trainers was immense for him to have to go so far, and even then he was still close to everyone else that had arrived at Magnic Spire from all the other countries. Cyan gazed out over the ocean just as he had when he was back on the ship. There was something really settling about the waters; it calmed him to the core. A lighthearted smirk crawled on his face at the thought of his super-energized form rocking out late at night to hardcore metal music. That was definitely not the portrait of calm. Nights like those would have to be things of the past, at least if he was going to travel around with someone else, but perhaps going solo wouldn't be that bad after all. The young man put an arm around Aurux's shoulders.

"I hope you're pumped inside, past that indifferent expression there," Cyan remarked happily to his partner. Aurux smiled at him reassuringly before gazing out at the sea again. "Good, good. Just making sure," he added dismissively. He should have figured that the answer to that question was obvious. Cyan dug into his pants pocket with his free hand and pulled out a jawbreaker. The feeling of Aurux's wanting stare fell upon him instantly and he laughed, removing his arm from around his pokemon's shoulders. Cyan unwrapped the jawbreaker. "Open." Aurux looked a bit disconcerted and embarrassed for a moment before opening his mouth so that Cyan could pop the jawbreaker into his mouth. After that, the guy reached into his pocket for another one and took it out, unwrapping it and popping it into his own mouth. They were the sour type, but he was so fond of the things and had eaten them so often that they hardly had any effect on him, though the taste was still fantastic.

"Man, I guess if we want friends, we'd better talk to people right?" Cyan said aloud indifferently, not bother to turn around and look at the crowd. "Maybe later." It seemed as though they would have time. The doors had yet to open, so all that was left to do was wait or socialize.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

Post by Kurio Sat Aug 18, 2012 12:18 am

Daniel leaned against the front railings of the ship, looking out at the ocean and also the large towering structure that could be seen even from such a great distance. They were quickly approaching it, and once there Daniel would go on the journey that every other young adult on this ship was starting. They have all reached the age of eighteen, to travel across the land (searching far and wide) to prove their excellence and eventually end up at the grant structure, the Magnic Spire.

For a moment he turned around to take a look at the other passengers. Most of them seemed friendly enough, some were talking among themselves, already making friends. And the majority of the passengers on the ship had their Pokemon out with them, Daniel was one of them. Though he had only Litwick out with him. The Pokemon's white almost marshmallow-looking body floated a foot or two beside his head while the purple flame atop her head flickered about, showing that she was obviously excited even without taking a look at the open-mouth smile the small Pokemon had. Daniel's other Pokemon Pineco, however, was kept within his Pokeball. The Pokemon had no quick way to maneuver itself around and with the slight rocking of the ship every once in a while Daniel feared the pine cone would roll off the deck and drown. Even though the chances of that weren't all that high it was best not to take any chances that could cause him to lose one of his Pokemon.

When the captain announced they were arriving at the island where the Magnic Spire was located, Daniel returned his attention to the front of the ship. The spire looked magnificent, and it seemed that Litwick shared in his amazement at the towering structure. As soon as the passengers were allowed off the boat, Daniel turned to his flaming marshmallow companion. "Hey pardner, y'all rearin' up n' ready to go?" Daniel asked, obviously directing it toward Litwick as she was the only living, well dead, being near him. Litwick responded to the question by bouncing several times in mid air, quite excited for the journey ahead of them.

As soon as they stepped off the boat onto the island though, Litwick's excitement and curiosity got the better of her and she ran, or more like floated, off by herself into the crowds of people. "Hold up pardner." Daniel called and chased after his marshmallow-shaped companion, catching up to her as she was gazing curiously face-to-face with a large bird Pokemon. A Braviary if he remembered correctly. It looked rather intimidating, and Litwick seemed to be trying to stare the bird down, which he hoped wouldn't agitate or upset the bird. Without waiting to find out Daniel took Litwick in his hands to pull her closer to him, scolding her in a semi-quiet voice, "Hey now, y'all cain't run off by yourself like dat." He then turned to the two females nearby, one of which was obviously the Braviary's owner while the other had a Glaceon and a Wooper. "Sorry 'bout innerruptin' all y'all's conversatin." he apologized to the two females.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

Post by Zerifachias Sat Aug 18, 2012 8:01 am

The last ship arrived, depositing what 18-year-olds it carried onto the shores of Magnic Spire. By this time, multiple bubbles of space had formed, giving these last few space to move about and mingle. But there was only one person off of this ship that caught any attention at all. A boy, with skin as pale as the moon and hair as black as night. He wore strange clothing, a black traveler's suit with a red hood over his head. He didn't seem to enjoy the sunlight in the area, and the shadows under his eyes were incredibly dark. This boy had a bubble of his own, no one wanted to go near him at all. He seemed to give off a strange aura, as if he were cursed by something.

He looked around slowly, his gaze passing over most of the people around him without lingering. He stopped on Crystal and the two others with her, but he seemed most interested in the boy off on his own. With nearly silent footsteps, he walked over to the boy and his Lucario until he was right next to him.

When he spoke, the boy seemed to direct his speech towards Lucario, rather than the trainer. "I found you," he said, his voice monotonous and gray. There seemed to be a hidden meaning in his words. When he next spoke, it was quick, and hard to understand, "You're the one. You will be the one. You can be the one. But only if you want to. You don't want to. You can't. It's impossible for you. But it could happen. The impossible can be done. You could do it. But you won't. I know. I can see it. I found you. There's no hope for you. You're the hope left for this world. You will do what Legends cannot."

Crystal saw this strange boy speaking to the one with the Lucario, but couldn't hear what he was saying. It didn't help that someone else came along and confronted her. This seemed strange to her though, and she wanted to go see what was going on. But before she could so much as apologize, a loud 'BANG' filled the air, followed by the tell-tale creaking of doors swinging on their hinges. The doors to Magnic Spire opened, and already people were starting to pour in.

With one look at Pilot, Crystal decided. "I'm sorry you two, but I want to go see what's happening over there before entering. Something doesn't seem right about that boy," she apologized, and jogged over to where the two boys were, dodging and weaving her way through the crowds that were trying to get into the Spire.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

The warm breeze tousled what hair it could that wasn't covered by Cyan's hat, and his black button-up shirt wavered in the breeze, for it was unbuttoned as it normally was. Cyan jumped as he turned his head slightly to find a rather odd individual standing next to him. How the hell did that happen? He hadn't heard a single thing. "Gah, what the hell?" Cyan gasped, placing a hand over his heart while turning to face the person who was invading his personal space. Without so much as a word of greeting, the odd fellow started spewing out nonsense so rapidly that it was hard to make out what he was saying. Something was impossible, but he was the one? Something about legends? Was he talking about the journey they were about to undertake. Cyan's eye twitched as the guy stopped talking which was definitely a relief.

"Most people like to start by giving their names," Cyan said flippantly, closing his eyes while waving his hand dismissively. This guy obviously wasn't normal; Cyan knew that, but still. "My name's Chris. Nice to meet you, I guess?" he posed as a question because he wasn't too happy to have this guy infringing upon his little spot by the sea. A sound echoed out from the spire and it seemed as though the doors were opening. People were starting to spill into the doorway in eagerness, however, it seemed as though someone was fighting through the crowd in an attempt to...get to him and the weird guy? She looked familiar. Wasn't she the owner of that Braviary from earlier? What could she possibly want? If she wants to make friends with this guy and get him off my back, she can have him, he thought flatly. He glanced at Aurux who seemed to be focused on the weird guy, staring warily at him.

"I know, Aurux," Cyan said softly. Since we was intent on letting everyone else get into the spire first so he wouldn't have to fight through a bunch of people, he figured he would hold his ground and see what the girl wanted...and see if the weird guy had the manners to introduce himself. Or would he just spout more nonsense? Yeah, that would definitely be refreshing.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

Had it not been for the adorable Litwick that found its way over to Crystal and Elli, the latter likely would have just let everything go and gone ahead with the rest of the teens. However, she did not even seem to notice the loud noise as the doors opened and instead was squealing at how cute the ghost-type was. Only in the back of her mind did she register what the trainer from Loretoudem had said to her; said information would be useless later when she actually acknowledged it. But she could not help herself, especially when the ghost-type's trainer came over to them.

"Your accent is so cool!" Elli blurted loudly, receiving stares from some of the other teens that were making their way around her. She did not notice as always and instead glued her attention to the trainer, the Wooper in her arms did the same bouncing with just as much happiness as his trainer.

It seemed both were delighted to have the company, but Glaceon on the other hand had only shot a wary look at their new acquaintance before shooting her gaze over at retreating form of Crystal. From the direction she was going, the ice-type looked on ahead of the moving girl and focused in on two males and a Lucario; two of which she had focused on before. The Glaceon let out a small yip and nudged her master only slightly before dashing off after Crystal, quite interested herself to see just what was going on. Elli, however, ignored this as she ignored everything else.

Elli's look at that time, while still glued to Daniel, changed to one of deep thought. It stayed that for for but a moment before she snapped with her free hand. "I've got to try that!" she stated as if what she were saying was obvious. As expected, she did not explain herself and instead placed the Wooper on the ground before reaching into her bag and pulling out her brightly colored ukelele again. The teens around her reacted too late as she began strumming and a large bubble was formed around her again.

Yeah, I've been searchin'
A-a searchin'
Oh, yeah, searchin' every which a-way
Yeah, yeah
Oh, yeah, searchin'
I'm searchin'
Searchin' every which a-way
Yeah, yeah

Her accent was not quite the thing one would expect, in fact it came out a little... jamaican? Just a tad. But it was enough to have the teens forming the bubble around her to complain and cover their ears. As always their complaints fell on deaf ears and Elli played two more times, this time just humming the tune along before finishing off with one final strum. She finished really quickly and repacked the instrument in her bag, scooping the Wooper in her arms before shooting Daniel a very serious look.

"How did that sound to you? The accent. Did it sound real?"

More machine-gun talk.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

The boy's expression suddenly changed after Chris spoke, as if he had been hit by something. It became more serene, unstable, and...nervous. But another moment later, it was back to being calmed and vacant. "Charmed," he said. A greeting, much different from his previous speech. He gave off a seemingly annoyed character. There was definitely something wrong with this boy.

Crystal arrived just in time to hear the boy speak again. "I'm called Kilaan. You must excuse my previous behavior. Foresight is a...gift that is passed down in my family. Though it's hardly of any use, since it never sticks with just one future for more than a few seconds." Foresight? Seeing into the future? Crystal never believed that stuff even worked, but whatever this boy, Kilaan did, it was related to foresight.

Kilaan crossed his hand over his chest and gave a sweeping bow. "I shall take my leave now. Enjoy deciphering the futures I have predicted for you, Sir Chris." Kilaan spun on his heels and walked towards Magnic Spire, passing right by Crystal without a single glance at her. She watched him for a moment before turning to Chris.

"What was all that about?" She asked, "I saw him approach you and thought something was strange about him. I'm Crystal, by the way. That boy...he said his name was Kilaan, right? I've never heard that kind of name before. He certainly isn't from Loretoudem." This was all very strange.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

The owner of the Braviary had rushed off by herself without saying much. Just apologized and said she wanted to go check something out. The Glaceon at the other female's feet quickly followed, which made Daniel wonder what the girl's response would be to her Pokemon leaving her side. Evidently she didn't mind at all, that or she was too much of a ditz and focused only on Litwick to notice. Then her sudden outburst of saying how she liked his accent made Litwick jump slightly and the frightened little fiery marshmallow hide behind her trainer, peering her head out ever so slightly to peek out.

Daniel didn't have all that much time to respond either, seeing that the girl immediately announced that she would try it and taking out a ukulele. Then she began to play a song of sorts, a lot like some of the music he had heard back in his hometown. And the girl was even trying to imitate the way he was speaking, which made him let out a hearty chuckle. The chuckle quickly became a laugh as soon as she finished playing the song two more times. The girl was really an interesting one, that was for sure, even asking if her accent sounded real to him. Though as much as it amused him Daniel had to shake his head in response to it.

"Haha. Not quite, gotta try harder than dat pardner." Daniel answered, though adding to his response after a moment as to not sound too rude, "Reckon it ain't half bad for a first try if I do say so myself. Name's Daniel, from a one-horse town in suthern Ferrith." Daniel then stepped to the side so Litwick was no longer hidden behind him, and pointed to his companion, "n' this 'ere feller's Litwick. I dun really fancy all that nicknamin' stuff. Pleased to make all y'all's acquainnce."

The ability to see the future? Now that was a load of bull shit that was probably even more preposterous than the nonsense the guy, Kilaan, was spouting just a few moments ago. Did he really expect Cyan to believe him immediately. Even in a different, rational state of mind, Kilaan seemed like the kind of person Cyan would take lengths to avoid. In short, he was annoying. Cyan rolled his eyes at being called 'Sir Chris' and was more than happy to watch the fool meander off towards the spire. All he could think was how it was a good riddance, but as the guy took his leave, Cyan noticed that a girl had approached him. The gloves. The jacket. The golden locks. The blue eyes that reminded Cyan so much of his own. It was the owner of that Braviary from earlier. She seemed curious about the other guy who was bothering him. She definitely wasn't dense because she could sense that something was off about that Kilaan fellow.

"The name's Chris, but my friends call me Cyanide, or Cyan for short," Cyan introduced himself, mentioning the nickname in the case this Crystal girl wanted to be friends. Being friends with Kilaan was out of the fucking question. "Yeah, he said Kilaan. Pretty unusual name. He's not from Adamites either. I would have noticed a guy like that on the ship," he added simply with a shrug, keeping his eyes focused on the moving crowds for only a moment before focusing solely on Crystal. He deduced she was from Loretoudem, so he decided not to say anything about that. Cyan sighed as Aurux took a step forward and gazed at Cyan questioningly. "This is Aurux, my Lucario," he said, traces of a smile aiming to force their way upon his face. "He doesn't like to be left out of things."

Aurux nodded his head in affirmation, crossing his arms over his chest adamantly.

"Though an encounter with a babbling buffoon was probably something we both could have done without today of all days," Cyan said firmly. He noticed more and more people were filtering into the doors leading into the spire. Soon it would be time to join them all. "I get the worst feeling that's not the last we'll see of that freak show though. And I have to say that's the worst part." He brought the palm of his hand to his forehead and shook his head despairingly. The words 'Sir Chris' echoed through his mind and he thought he might blow a gasket if he didn't stop thinking about that.

Good, this one was friendly too. Crystal felt like she could be friends with this one, so she decided to use his nickname. "It's nice to meet you, Cyan. You too, Aurux," Crystal said politely. She shot a glance over her shoulder and saw Pilot watching her from afar. He couldn't dodge through the crowd like she could and didn't want to fly without her, it seems. "My Braviary over there is called Pilot, he's a bit held up at the moment," Crystal added. She figured if Cyan introduced his Lucario to her, then she should return the favor and introduce hers.

"I got some bad vibes from that kid, I would hate to be alone with him in a dark alley," Crystal continued, looking rather serious. She didn't know what she might do if Kilaan were to talk to her. Probably something she would end up regretting. Crystal looked Cyan over for a bit, taking in his appearance and comparing it to her own from memory. When he was standing, he was at least six inches shorter than her. Cyan would appear more feminine than Crystal if it she didn't have her long, golden hair and electric blue eyes. Cyan's own black and blue were quite attractive. He wore a black hat. Crystal wore a leather cap that covered most of the top of her skull. She also had a pair of goggles attached to her cap as well. They would look strange together, that was for sure. But still...

"I think we could be friends. What do you say to sticking together for a little while?" Crystal offered. It didn't have to be for the whole journey, but if it ended up that way, then there was no real problem, was there? Crystal could hear the other kids filing into Magnic Spire. It was about time to get moving, Pilot was sure to be just itching to fly. The faster this got done, the better.

Upon hearing that her accent was not quite on par, Elli frowned for but a moment. It was a rather sad sight to see, but it was quickly swapped out for a large smile as her possible friend introduced himself. "Pleasure to meet you Daniel, mind if I call you Danny?" she asked quickly in response. However, there was no chance for a direct response as the girl squealed again upon seeing Litwick. She held in a good deal of her excitement however, as it seemed to have scared the little pokemon earlier. It helped quite a bit as she would not have heard what he said otherwise. "No nicknames huh? That's cool too." she voiced with a large nod of approval.

She went silent for all about two seconds before a look of shock passed over her face for a second; this however was quickly replaced with another friendly grin. "My name's Elli and I'm from Ikai," she stated, turning to show off her clothing which was clearly from Ikai. "And this is Woopa-chan, and..." she had been pointing at the Wooper in her arms, but when she nudged down at the empty spot that should have been her Glaceon, she trailed off. Where had the ice-type run off to? Without thinking twice, she shifted Wooper to one arm and brought the now free hand to her mouth. "YUKI-CHAN!!!" she shouted, doing the somewhat polite thing and turning away from Daniel.

The Glaceon, which had watched the encounter with the strange male and the Lucario trainer had been sitting several feet away from the aforementioned trainer. She had just been taking in the conversation disinterestedly, having lost track of the prophet trainer she had been watching. However, when Elli called (rather loudly at that) she picked herself off and trotted into the crowd reaching the young adult rather quickly. The teen just smiled upon seeing her at her side once more, completely alright with the fact her pokemon had run off.

"And this is Yuki-chan~" Elli added, jumping back into their previous conversation without missing a beat.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

Post by Masquerade Mon Aug 20, 2012 11:46 am

Pilot seemed like an appropriate name for the Braviary. Cyan was sure that it would prove to be an extraordinary flier. Most of the people and pokemon from Loretoudem could fly to at least some extent. What else would one expect from a region in the very skies? His eyes shot over a little bit and caught sight of someone's Glaceon. It seemed about as stoic as he had been when he was watching Crystal and some other obnoxious girl earlier. Wait a minute. Wasn't that her Glaceon? Cyan grimaced and flicked his eyes right back to Crystal. Apparently she wanted to be friends. Cyan definitely didn't have a problem with that. She seemed cool enough and had a good head on her shoulders. Sure it got rid of his plans to go solo, but if he had to change his previous way of life in favor of company, then he figured it would be okay.

"Yeah, sure, that sounds good to me," he spoke up, giving her an affirming half-smile, his eyes lighting up a bit. "I don't think Aurux would forgive me for turning down a good companion...or whatever. You know," he said and patted his Lucario on the back who nodded in agreement which just set the deal in stone. "This guy might seem fierce and cool and relaxed, but really he's shy." Aurux growled at his trainer, but Cyan appeared unfazed. Aurux made it too easy for him to be teased. A shout came from not too far away, and both Cyan and Aurux looked for the source which happened to be the girl from earlier who had been talking with Crystal. So it was her Glaceon. Cyan looked down to see it walk away simply and return to its trainer. It was probably for the best. What was going on wasn't any of its business. Eavesdropping pokemon. Go figure, Cyan thought and shrugged his shoulders in an unnoticeable manner.

The number of people was definitely starting to dwindle, so it was probably time for them to get back with the last remnants of the crowd to enter the spire. "Should we get going? It'll be exciting to see what's waiting in there for us," Cyan offered easily, gesturing towards the daunting spire entrance. It would definitely be shameful for them to be late. Legends couldn't be late, for sure.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

Post by Zerifachias Mon Aug 20, 2012 8:49 pm

"Oh good," Crystal said happily. She wasn't sure Cyan would accept her proposal, so when he did, it made her glad. At the mentioning of heading inside, Crystal turned her head to look over at Pilot, her Braviary. She pointed at him, then drew her finger up, towards the sky. She was telling him to fly, and he obeyed. The large bird pokemon unfurled his huge wings, and with only a few strong beats he was high in the air, circling the Spire. He would wait for Crystal to return.

"Yeah, we should go in. The sooner this is over, the sooner I can ride the wind with Pilot," Crystal agreed, still looking up at her pokemon with a longing gaze. "But enough of being distracted, let's go in." Crystal made sure to wait for Cyan before heading into the Spire.

The inside of the tower was larger than Crystal originally thought, and there weren't that many kids here either. There were six ships, one from each country and an extra round from Adamites and Ikai each, which were the two largest of the four nations. Loretoudem was the smallest of them all.

The inside was decorated with red and black, the colors of Magnic Spire. The floor was made of white marble, a red carpet leading to a blocked off section of the large room. At the forefront of the section, there was a large computer, likely a registering computer that they would have to use to get their identification cards. Possibly the same machine that opened the doors for legends to climb the stairs beyond. But for now, they had to settle with the five Council Members, who were overseeing the duties for the day.

All of the Council members wore clothing that covered their whole bodies and masked their faces. Crystal couldn't tell if any of them were male or female in that cloth. The colors of their robes matched that of the countries they "ruled" over. Blue and white for Ikai, green and brown for Ferrith, grey and purple for Adamites, silver and gold for Loretoudem, and black and red for the Magnic Spire.

The walls inside the Magnic Spire were the same as outside, only these were dressed up a little more with the banners of each country, as well as a number of banners for the Spire itself, and the largest banner in the very back, just above the computer, for the Cities of Legends. This large banner combined the main colors of the other countries, blue, green, grey, silver, and black, as best as it could. It was supposed to represent those that were able to conquer the different countries, but the colors chosen could have been better picked, for sure.

"A warm welcome to you, newcomers," the lead Council member, the one in black and red, spoke up and addressed them. "There are many tasks for today, and little time to accomplish them, so listen carefully."

"I suppose he wants us to shut up and listen, then?" Crystal muttered to herself. She wasn't much for drawing out conversation. Get to the point, and more will get done quicker. Right? A few others around her shot her some looks, but she ignored them. These were the same people who were afraid of a Braviary. She didn't have to worry about them.

"Behind me is the Master Computer. It has data on every registered trainer in the country, including the Legends who have ascended Magnic Spire. You were all told to bring your old tags with you. These tags, when entered into the computer, will store enough information to allow a printing of your trainer card. At that point, you will be officially recognized as a trainer.

"These Trainer Cards are important, do not lose them. They hold your allowance for gear and food, and they also serve as passports, to allow you to go into other countries. They have a few other uses as well, and those are recorded on the back of every card."
The Council member stopped, looking down at one of the boys closest t him. He gestured for the boy to come closer. "Allow me to show you how this is done," he said.

The boy went up to the computer, as he was told. On the far left side of the computer's screen, there was a small slit that the boy inserted his tag into. The machine seemed eager to snatch the card away from the boy and eat it completely, since he did not get the tag back. Perhaps it was being recycled to be used again? Beneath the first slit there was a second, and out of this came a small, rectangular copper card. It seemed easy enough.

"When you have all finished and gotten your cards," the Council continued, shooing the boy away from him as he addressed the rest of the eager crowd. "You will have to go to one of the four tables situated around the room to receive packages that will be useful - and essential - to your survival. Please go to the table marked with the colors and banners of your home country." These tables were in the far reaches of the room, out of the way of the main attraction - the computer. Crystal spotted the one for Loretoudem immediately. It was in the left corner, closest to the door.

"For now, that is all. The Council will address you all again once every task has been completed and the ships are ready to be boarded again." The reaction was almost instantaneous. People lined up, some pushing and shoving involved, in front of the computer. Eager to get in. Eager to get out. Eager to start their Unfamiliar Journey.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

Post by Kurio Wed Aug 29, 2012 8:59 pm

Daniel listened as the girl began talking again. First giving him a nickname, then introducing herself as she showed off her clothes, blue and obviously well-prepared for the cold. And then she introduced her Pokemon as Woopa-chan and Yuki-chan, the latter having to be called rather loudly to return to the owner's side. Though Daniel had no idea what the 'chan' in the Pokemon's nicknames meant, he felt it wasn't really necessary to ask at that time. And although the girl's calling for her Glaceon may have been a lot louder than most people would like, Daniel simply laughed again when the girl finished. "Right, good to meet y'all." Daniel said, and he would have let Pineco out for a breath of fresh air too if it weren't for the fact that there weren't many people left outside. The initiation ceremony or whatever it was they were here for was probably starting soon and it would be a problem if he had missed it.

"Well we best get goin'. Maybe we'll meet again." Daniel said before turning and heading into the large tower jogging. He managed to make it in time to hear and see the demonstration of what they were supposed to be doing, with those tags of theirs that they were given to keep for their entire childhood and adolescence. Now Daniel wasn't an extremely eager fellow to want to get his trainer card and other stuff, besides being amid such a large crowd of people was bound to have Litwick freak out, so the (*cough*cowboy*cough*) young man just made his way near a wall and waited for most of the people to have gone by.

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

Post by Masquerade Thu Aug 30, 2012 12:07 pm

Cyan stood near the back with Crystal and Aurux, gazing around at the amazing chamber he had stepped into. The colors were very vivid, and they were representative of the varying regions which was quite obvious. The large computer was extremely conspicuous, and was most likely going to serve some kind of grand purpose for them. The noise of the crowd was rather annoying, but luckily, one of the people running the ceremony decided to step up and start a speech. There were five people which made sense--one for every region plus Magnic Spire. They were the Council. These people were immensely skilled when it came to pokemon battling--legends in their own right. It was amazing to see them all gathered in one place like they were, but where else would they be? How could they not be here to oversee such a grand event? It seemed like the leader of the Council was speaking to them now. He found himself agreeing with Crystal, though he didn't say anything. Anyone with shit for brains could tell that this thing was going to be streamlined. Who just wanted to stand around when such an extensive journey was awaiting them? Granted, there was still an additional step. They would be receiving starting supplies which was a very nice gesture.

Well, as long as everyone gets out of here quickly, Cyan thought as he watched the Council leader run a bit of a demo showing how the computer is used after picking a person to use from the large crowd. It was a simple enough process meaning things would clear out quickly, but Cyan wasn't about to fight over who would be first to get out of this place. "Mind hanging back a bit while the savages fight over who gets their trainer card the fastest? It's not like they're going anywhere. We still have packages to receive," Cyan remarked flatly, gazing over off to the area where the tables had been set up. "Eh, seems like we're going to be split up for just a bit to get the packages anyway. I guess you can go on up if you want." He felt Aurux nudge him in the side. "Yeah, I know." Aurux was reminding him that he'd have to put up with Jason if he was supposed to go to a table where other people from his region were gathering. It was true that Jason was a good friend of his, but that didn't mean he always enjoyed the fellow's company, especially since the guy went on his whole rival spiel.

"There's only one way out of here, so we can meet up outside, if that's all right with you," Cyan offered, shrugging his shoulders nonchalantly. He folded his arms over his chest and gazed at the crowd which was actually thinning out as people finally managed to garner some sort of order and made their way over to the tables. That was always a plus. Cyan raised a hand to his mouth to stifle a yawn. He was excited, and things were definitely extravagant, but things weren't as fast-paced as he was used to. At least I have energy drinks in case things get too bad, Cyan thought with a slight smirk.

"I'm not in any hurry to get mixed in with that," Crystal commented, looking at the group of kids from the crowd that were hurrying to get in line first. She thought she saw some pushing and shoving, though that might have just been her imagination. Then, a thought crossed her mind, and she looked over at Aurux. "You know, we aren't supposed to leave this place until we have our cards, and Pilot isn't here, but how about we have a battle?" Crystal looked at Cyan now, "I have another friend, and she needs some exercise, for sure. Would you mind if we had a little fun? Nothing serious, of course."

Crystal reached into her toolbelt and pulled out a yellow and white pokeball, with a black 'A' printed on the very top. She tapped the button on the front of the ball a few times and the capsule opened, letting out a flash of light as a pokemon materialized in front of them. "Just a little workout for Ada, is all," Crystal said happily, beaming down at her friend. It was a Flaffy, of course, with a mane of white wool around her neck and on her head. Her skin was pink and the orb at the end of her tail was an electric blue. It flapped it's ears before looking up at Crystal, then over to Aurux. "Ada, this is Cyan and Aurux."

Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread) Empty Re: Adrenaline Rush: The Unfamiliar Journey (Story Thread)

Elli frowned as the cowboy ran off after the crowd to get in for whatever the meeting was supposed to be called. They could have gone in together after all, and it saddened her just a bit that he left her behind. But she did suppose that they were just strangers and not friends yet, so instead of standing there and missing out she just trotted along after the rest of the crowd.

She appeared to be one of the last ones, if not the last one, into the structure to witness the process of transferring tags to cards. Unlike Crystal and Cyan, who chose to hang back, she was quick to worm her way through the mass of people. There was no bubble formed, so it took a little time and effort to get through, but she managed with little difficulty. No one even noticed she had gotten to the front so quickly and she was able to make the transaction with peace. It was not very long before the brand new Trainer ID was stuck in her hands, and she began to worm her way back through the crowd.

Fortunately (and possibly unfortunately) she happened to take note of Crystal and Cyan on her way back out, quickly redirecting her course towards them. The former of the two stood with a Flaffy next to her, quite obviously her's as it was only natural for Loretoudem. The latter had his Lucario by his side, as the Ikaien remembered was his, and though she could not say for sure it seemed different than just a friendly greeting. Perhaps they were going to have a battle? The very thought of that caused Elli to stop for a moment, it might be a little dangerous in here, even if they were away from the crowd. Of course those thoughts were quickly drowned out by the thought of cheering for what could possibly be her future friends.

She began to weave through people once again.

Daniel stood by as he watched the would be trainers rush to all get their trainer cards and those packages. After a while the mass of people crowding around the machine had dispersed, for the most art. The only ones left were a few stragglers and Daniel turned to Litwick. "Reckon we go 'n get our card now?" Daniel asked, receiving an enthusiastic nod from the marshmallow. He chuckled and rather casually strolled past some of the people who had begun to socialize with each other. Inserting his trainer tag Daniel retrieved the card from the machine then went to pick up the package. Afterward he went off to the side and opened said package, taking a look at the contents inside.

A little fun? Of course it would mean a battle, for that was what two pokemon trainers do--they battle. The sudden prospect certainly caught Cyan off guard; he had been ready to just meander off for a bit until the line thinned and he could get his trainer card. He figured there couldn't be possibly a better way to pass the time than a battle. A tentative eye focused on the poke ball that Crystal retrieved, and from it she released a Flaafy by the name of Ada, apparently. "A pleasure, Ada," Cyan replied calmly, glancing at Aurux to see him bow his head in greeting. Crystal's words seemed to remind himself of something, and he found himself digging in his pocket. His hand gripped a small red and white poke ball with the letter 'C' marked in black on the red part. Clicking the button, he enlarged the ball and released the pokemon that it held, wondering if that were to be a good idea or not. Aurux seemed to look at him with a worried look, but he shrugged. "I've dealt with collateral before." Now Cyan's gaze fell upon the pokemon that he had sent out--a Misdreavus. The dark bluish-green-bodied pokemon hovered in place, blinking her red eyes and looking around, almost astonished that she had been released, but what for?

"Crystal, Ada. I'd like for you to meet, Edea, my Misdreavus," Cyan introduced, gesturing to the girl and her Flaafy such that Edea focused her eyes on them. Edea giggled and performed a somersault in place before winking at Ada. Cyan placed a hand on Edea's head gently. "This one is a trickster. I don't know if you've heard much about Misdreavus, but this one definitely has a fascination for pulling hair, so watch yourself. She used to be a lot worse, but after some training, I think it's safe to say she's tame. Still, it worries me to let her out around so many people," he explained, admitting the last bit with a trace of a frown. He removed his hand after which Edea promptly turned to face him, a disgruntled look upon her face. "Sorry, but you know it's the truth," Cyan said with a shrug. "You up for a battle though?" At the sound of those words, Edea seemed to smile such a sinister smile that Aurux took a subtle step back. "I guess that settles that. We're game."

The Flaffy shook, ruffling her white wool. Crystal smiled and brushed it back a bit. The electricity from the wool didn't reach Crystal's hand, thanks to her gloves, but little shocks like that wouldn't have hurt her. Crystal smiled at the Misdreavus that Cyan called Edea. "Very nice to meet you, Edea. Ada, go ahead and say hi. Don't be shy." Ada looked up at her master, then back to the ghost-type. She made a movement to get behind Crystal, but the pilot was far to attentive to let that slide. Crystal stepped away, giving them some space.

Ada, with no options left, looked back over to Edea and baa'ed a little. She shifted her feet and pulled up her stubby little arms to prepare for battle. She was definitely timid, but at the prospect of a battle, she could focus.

"Good," Crystal said with a smile, "Ada is ready. Think fast, Cyan! Ada, Electro Ball!" The orb on Ada's tail began to glow yellow, and it only took a second for her to flip frontward and shoot out a mass of electricity from her tail, which pelted towards Edea. Ada landed on her feet and began to move swiftly in zig-zag patterns, constantly changing position to throw off any ranged attacks.

A very audible squeal came from Elli's direction as the Flaffy was released from its pokeball. The overexcited trainer did not rush over to it and cling to it, however, for she had a little more sense than to surprise an electric type. She did however run over to Crystal, a very exuberant smile stretching from ear to ear. "You guys are going to have a battle?!?" she inquired, her tone just a enthusiastic as her visage. "That's awesome!" she exclaimed before any actual affirmation was given.

It was far too late to calm her down, much less stop her, for she was already started. She launched her Wooper into the air and dug two pom-poms out of her bag. She caught the water type as it fell back towards the ground, and bobbed it just a tad. The little water fish just smiled and bounced out of her arms, hitting the ground with a light thud. "You guys go at it! I'll cheer~!" she declared, ruffling her pom-poms and throwing her arms up.
