Stones Of Fate Empty Stones Of Fate

I am uncertain if I want to make this idea a massive rp or a one-on-one rp. I'm thinking one where anyone can join but I'm uncertain. Originally it was a story idea for something I was going to do by myself but I think this would be more fun with another person/group.

This is a fantasy story set in olden times (no electricity for gadgets and gizmos). It should be more of a mix between medieval and renaissance times for how they live. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Plot/backstory:

Long ago there was a land where a fiery race lived. These people were called the Fenkure. The Fenkure were the very essence of fire. They lived and breathed it in all manners of the sense. But, this was not to mean that they were a fearsome race. One could call them a gentle flame. Some would live up to fire’s harsh reputation, but most were kind and gentle. They understood the kind of power that fire could wield and their ruler prevented them from abusing it. That is, until the ruler fell into sickness. Even while bedridden with an unknown disease, he continued to rule the people and give commands as the Anquire drove them into war. Sometime during the Great War the king passed away and his son, Borris Nephilim, was left to rule. The son was nothing like the father. Borris’ position at the seat of the throne, lead him to grow mad. He enjoyed having everyone under his thumb and being able to kick around anyone who opposed him.

As if like clockwork, only weeks into Borris’ reign, the war ended. The Anquire made a treaty with the Fenkure and left them alone. Though as time progressed, the treaty was soon publicly known. The Anquire had proposed an alliance by marriage. It happened to be that the Fenkure were situated in an area that the Anquire desired to have. Borris, with no wife, had proposed to share the land with the Anquire should they give up their daughter to him. Some believed this was something that had been plotted. As if Borris and the woman had been in control of the war from the beginning. It didn’t matter much in the end; for what the Anquire sought out in this land was something called the Blood Stone.

The Blood stone was a gem that was the heart of the world, and seeing as the stone was located near the middle of the earth, it was in a very hot place. The Anquire princess poisoned the mind of Borris even further than what it had already been. The blood stone held the power to keep the world in balance. Who’s to say it couldn’t be used by man to win wars, control people, or even change the world itself?

Borris, eager for power, sought out the stone. When it was finally in his reach, he stood before it and laughed. He laughed as his ‘dreams’ of power were becoming fulfilled. The stone sat in an altar, formed by the earth and held in place, surrounded by lava. The new king used his control of fire to push back the magma that came near him and walked up to the stone. It was small, but the power within it could be seen pulsing over the hard exterior. Greedy as he was, Borris broke the altar’s hold and stole the gem. As one can imagine, nothing can live without its heart, which lead the world to tremble, threatening to fall apart. The power within the stone seeped into Borris’ very body and began to destroy him. Before the eyes of his very men, he grew from a youthful man into an older one. Rapidly, the stone made him age, and soon enough his flesh pulled back from bone and turned to ash.

The stone dropped to the ground lifeless. No more magic pulsed through the rock as it once had except for a small shard that broke off the stone once it fell. The small shard glowed faintly with the same power that its old self had. One man was wise and wrapped the shard in cloth, picked it up, and placed it in the altar once more. The death of the world seemed to slow, but damage to the heart will only let someone live for so long. Surprisingly enough, the world never collapsed. The men left the cavern expecting to have to say goodbye to their families, but found they did not.

The Blood Stone, was not the only heart of the world. Just like there are 3 main powers, there are three stones. The Blood Stone was the source of the Fenkure power. The powers of the fire wielders diminished, weakened by their lack of power from the source. Each stone is the soul of the people. If all three were to be destroyed, the earth would fall into complete ruin. For now, only a third of the planet suffers, though the Anquire seem to not care. After the Blood Stone was nearly destroyed, the Anquire wiped out much of the Fenkure population, leaving namely peasants to remain. They now target the Quiree, more than likely in hopes of destroying their stone like the Fenkure’s. It is not unlikely that they knew what would happen to the people when the stones were disrupted.

----

Now, these people all have traits of their ancestors, but through time certain traits were lost and gained. It eventually came to be that only those from the direct line of the Fenkure, Anquire, and Quiree royalty would possess powers of their kind. The Fenkure possessed fire, Anquire possessed water, and Quiree possessed earth traits. These traits are what we might call magic. Each race could control their element as if it were their own soul. Those of royalty had the best control of their powers, militia possessed a decent control of the powers, and anything below had little to no control. In the ways of hierarchy, the king is best, the militia is second, and anything below has had such a diluted lineage that they should possess very little skill in their kind. However, people are very easily tempted to do things they should not. Sometimes the lines of hierarchy can be broken and then the lineage of the little people gains a child or two that possess some of the abilities of the higher ups. These children, when found, usually possessed a fair amount of skill, since they had to figure out how to thrive in the harsher ways of peasantry, and were rounded up by the militia and used in battle. Why waste good men, when you can use an undesired peasant in the front lines?

I'd join! :D I love RPs like this. I'd make a male, of course. :3c

How would our characters meet though, if I say, make a character who is like... 2nd in command of some certain army or such?

Also, is it okay if they have...
horns? *q*

Horns: acceptable

Meeting: Uncertain. Depending on what people choose to be, they could all just be part of the militia and form a war party. Though if you do that you're fighting a natural behavior of the Quiree who are peacful folk, thus you'd have to find a way to rally them into fighting (not that the stone destruction wouldn't have been enough, but still lol). If anyone plays a peasant, they can be a normal person with no powers volunteering to help, or a person with enough ability to be scooped up by the militia to join the ranks.

Hell you don't even need to play it as a war rp right away. You all could treat it as a day by day life rp where they're just trying to live through the Anquire plots. Honestly which way you take it is up to you guys, but eventually the Anquire will strike, either full force or underhandedly (like the Fenkure situation).

I will make a character eventually, probably a Fenkure and an Anquire (besides the NPC like people to help forward the plots). You can pick any race you want of the three and if you can come up with a good explanation why they crossed races and could make a mixed power-- you may try. I will not say no without looking at it (just a question I remember from skype, couldn't keep up while playing LoL xD).
