Aw, that sucks. Well, hope you like it. I really do. It didn't seem like my kind of game with its battle system, but even I ended up liking it.

Here's hoping my Cheerwine is nice and cold when I get back up to mah apartment. :3

Re: The Eternal Nightmare Chatterbox Thread- V.9

Post by Durn on Sun Nov 14, 2010 7:22 pm

So, they're trying to do this Statistical Anime-Style Pokemon Battling League thing.

This is such a terrible idea for so many reasons:

  • They gave what they call an "Anime Style Battling League" their very own subsection, and they wouldn't listen to Sliv when he asked if he could make a discussion thread for his roleplay.
  • I was looking through a couple of battles, and shit is very unbalanced. The method of damage calculation is screwed up. Here, I'll give you an example:
    http://www.marriland.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=179&t=420882
  • They're giving out Gengars, Donphans, Tauros, and whatever through "special events" such as Halloween Catch-a-Thons and the Safari Zone. Did I mention that the two events were within a week of the start of the entire event, and they were already getting level 3 Pokemon? Example: http://www.marriland.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=179&t=420969
  • The worst one:

Okay, so this one guy who looked like he knew what he was talking about was asking a mod if they could make a thread where people put their own PC boxes, and tons of people were supporting him, the mod in charge of the event, Flame_Blader, responded with:

    Cynical Manatee wrote:
Flame_Blader1 wrote:Nah I've already thought of that idea and it's not really convenient. Right now we've got about 23 members and it's only going to increase in coming weeks. That makes some peoples boxes go on the next page which defeats the whole purpose of making a separate and more organized version of the trainer index. And frankly I trust myself more than others to update it regularly.
Seeing that the first post of the topic I suggested would have a linked index that leads to other people's posts, I fail to see how organization would be a problem if something goes over one whole page.

Also, if people care about participating in ASB at all, they shouldn't fret about keeping track of a couple of things, which a lot of people are already keeping track of in their signatures.

It would be a lot easier for 23 people to keep track of themselves than it would be for 1 person to watch over all of them, would it not?

Eventually, the guy who made sense was completely denied by Flame_Blader, and now Flame is keeping track of 23 trainers' Pokemon, movesets, and all of that shit.

The entire thing is a train wreck.

It was a fun read.

Oh my god.

Marriland is full of idiots.

Except for that one person.

I'm astounded. A forum with over 1 million users has terrible organization skills, while our forum is excessively organized. If I want to find something, the most clicks I'll need to do is 2. Maybe 3. Go on Marriland and you'll be searching for one thing for hours on end.
