I WILL TEACH YOU CHAMPIONS.

Durn's League Guide: Learning the Game 36px-AhriSquare Ahri, The Nine-Tailed Fox
Class: Mage, Assassin
Difficulty: 7/10
Foxy McSlutmuffin specializes in instantly killing champions with her wonderful burst potential and mobility. Due to her ultimate, which gives her like, three instant Flashes, she can roam very effectively and help lanes that are having trouble. Due to her skillshot based gameplay, she is a more difficult champion and is not recommended for new players. When playing against Ahri, try to predict where she will dash to next (even if you predict correctly, landing a skillshot against an Ahri with her ultimate active is very difficult). Playing champions with target skills will also make Ahri's dashes less of a chore to deal with.
Notable Skills:
+ Charm - It's a pink heart that she fires at you. If she hits you with it, landing the rest of her skills will be easy. Dodging this skill is key.
+ Spirit Rush - Her ultimate, which allows her to dash a short distance three times.

Durn's League Guide: Learning the Game 36px-AkaliSquare Akali, The Fist of Shadow
Class: Assassin
Difficulty: 4/10
Although she has a wonderful sideboob, Akali is quite the living terror to most new players. Due to her massive snowballing potential, after a single slip up while playing against Akali, she will often get out of control and end the game like 400/2/11. Akali is quite the slippery little bugger. Due to her high single-target burst and mobility, along with stealth, many newer players will have a difficult time dealing with her. By buying a pink ward that costs 125g and plopping it down in her stealth shroud, you can see her, which should make dealing with her significantly easier.
Notable Skills:
+ Twilight Shroud - A poofy thing which makes her invisible while she's standing in it. Can be negated by using a pink ward on the shroud.
+ Shadow Dance - A skill which can be cast multiple times before going on-cooldown, Shadow Dance is a quick dash which teleports Akali directly to her target with very little delay. Makes running away from her virtually impossible and rather frustrating.

Durn's League Guide: Learning the Game 36px-AlistarSquare Alistar, The Minotaur
Class: Tank, Support, Disruptor
Difficulty: 8/10
Cow is a very simple champion when you put his skills on paper. He can knock you up into the air, and he can knock you away from things. However, executing these skills in the proper order is rather difficult, as his W > Q *instant knockup-knockback* combo is very difficult to pull off properly. Because he is a tank, it is not wise to focus him in teamfights if there is another target within range. Be careful around Alistar, because once he catches you, often times his team will be there to finish you off. Due to the fact that his Headbutt knock-away can completely fuck up your teammates, I do not recommend him to new players.
Notable Skills:
+ Headbutt - A skill which allows Alistar to dash to the nearest target and knock them away. It can be used as both a disengage to protect allies from scary enemies and, when comboed with his Pulverize, an engagement skill that allows Alistar to catch out-of-position enemies. Remember, causing chaos is Alistar's thing, not damage.
+ Pulverize - One of the strongest AoE crowd-control skills that is not an ultimate-skill in the entire game. It's practically a 1.5 second stun that you cannot escape from. Because of this, you should be careful around enemy Alistar players.

Durn's League Guide: Learning the Game 36px-AmumuSquare Amumu, The Sad Mummy
Class: Tank, Disruptor, Jungler
Difficulty: 3/10
Amumu is one of the simplest teamfight-oriented champions in the entire game. Because of his ultimate skill, which allows him to enwrap all nearby enemies with bandages for a short period of time, it gives his team a great timeframe to follow up with their own skills. Due to his long-ranged stun called Bandage Toss, his ganking skills are above average, allowing him to help any struggling lanes with his wide variety of crowd control (through his Bandage Toss and his ultimate). Due to the general simplicity of his skills, I would definitely recommend him to new players. His W, E, and R are very easy to pull off correctly, and his Q helps new players get used to casting simple skillshots.
Notable Skills:
+ Bandage Toss - A skillshot that pulls Amumu to the enemy that he hits with it. Dodging this skill is crucial because, otherwise, he will often follow up his Bandage Toss which his ultimate, allowing his team to finish you off.
+ Curse of the Sad Mummy - Amumu's ultimate skill. A very large AoE that casts around the area that Amumu is currently standing in. Because CotSM casts around Amumu's current location, dodging Bandage Toss is important in order to keep Amumu at bay.

Durn's League Guide: Learning the Game 36px-AniviaSquare Anivia, The Cryophoenix
Class: Mage, Disruptor
Difficulty: 9/10
Anivia holds some of the greatest zone control capabilities in the entire game. Because she is able to craft her own walls on the battlefield, she can safely manipulate the enemy's travel paths. By successfully combining her wall with her Flash Frost skillshot stun, she can force enemies to walk into her stun. Because of the technical skill that is required in order to play Anivia to her full potential, I do not recommend her to new players. Anivia has low mobility, meaning that getting caught by an enemy often results in death when in the hands of an unskilled player.
Notable Skills:
+ Crystallize - Probably the most unique ability in Anivia's skill repertoire, Crystallize allows Anivia to conjure a wall of ice in a given location. This skill is deadly in the right hands, as it allows Anivia to block off enemies from certain pathways, guaranteeing their death. However, it is also important that you do not block off your own allies when they are trying to escape. Remember: your enemies are not the only people who have trouble walking through solid walls!
+ Rebirth - Anivia's passive skill is very strange. Once every 5 minutes, when Anivia reaches 0 HP, she will not die. Instead, she will be reborn in an egg form that forces you to kill her once more before she actually dies. Because of this skill, it is very important to remember that pulling off risky tricks to kill Anivia will often end in her favor since she has two lives to lose, while you only have one.
