Beach Party Empty Beach Party

“-thirty-three bottles on the wall! Take one down and pass it around, thirty-two bottles along the wall!”

“Is she still going. . . ?” Lillian yawned, blinking tiredly as she awoke from her nap. Lucian sat to her right by the window, humming along to the random tune Michelle was singing to. The brunette rubbed her eyes before letting her head fall back against her cousin's shoulder. “I'm going back to sleep, wake me up when we get there. . .” She didn't wait to hear Lucian's response before she was asleep.

“Someone, make her shut up,” Lala groaned hoarsely, her hands clamped over her ears. The blonde was practically huddled on top of Mira's lap in the back row, as far away from the singing menace as possible. Unfortunately, it was probably the worst place to sit. Her friend patted her shoulder in a comforting manner, her eyes locked onto the screen of her phone as she browsed through websites. Rain sat to their right, listening to Chopin on his mp3 player and wincing whenever singing voice went a pitch too high, breaking past the comforting notes of Chopin's piano. He was glad he had the foresight to bring it with him.

“If I could, I would have already,” Ryan grumbled from the row in front of the trio, a scowl etched deeply onto his face. His arms were crossed and he was sending a dark glare at the ground.

“A pity we can't sew her mouth shut,” Rachel hissed poisonously, her posture much the same as the one seated across the row from her. Her eyes, however, were spitting acid into the ceiling of the bus.

“Just give me a needle and some thread,” Evan stated, amber eyes burning holes into the back of the blue haired girl's head sitting all the way in the very front. Michelle, oblivious to the rage her singing was causing, only continued her song of one thousand bottles dwindling down to zero. She had, at first, sung about beer bottles but then realized she didn't drink. Violet, their designated driver, suddenly adjusted her rear-view mirror in a way that Evan could tell the menacing woman was staring directly at him using the glass.

He slumped in his seat, cursing softly under his breath. He had no intention of getting into some freak bus accident where only he died. Shifting, he sat a little closer to his meditating sister. He was surprised when he first saw her enter her zen state. It seemed to working too, considering how bad Rosetta's temper could get when she felt slighted.

“It wouldn't be so bad,” Richard began quietly under his breath, massaging his temples as he held out a hand to his sister. Luna slapped a tablet into the open palm, she was now in charge of his medication because he tended to toe the line of overdosing, before sticking her head back out the window as she tried not to throw up. Richard popped the pill into his mouth and dry swallowed it. “If she didn't insist on singing every verse with its own variation.” Sure enough, Michelle was now using a slow song as her current verse's base.

“Hey, sis?” Kevin whispered nervously to Violet, sending a quick glance at the darkness gathering at the back of the bus. “Maybe you should drive a little faster?” 'Before they attempted to justified murder on Michelle' was left unsaid.

“No need,” Matthew stated, wrapping an arm around the brunet's waist and pulling the smaller boy down onto his lap. Kevin blushed but shifted into a more comfortable position. Rosetta's eyes suddenly snapped open and her head turned to the window. Evan perked up, immediately taking this as a sign of salvation. Matthew raised a hand and pointed just as the bus turned a curve. “We're here.”

“YES!” Lala cheered loud enough to burst eardrums and bolted upright, nearly knocking the phone out of Mira's hand. Lillian jumped awake and would have fallen to the floor if Lucian's quick reflexes hadn't saved her. Michelle blinked, her mouth open mid-line, and turned at the interruption. She pouted slightly. She had just finished bottle number nine-hundred ninety-four. She could have finished by the time they reached the parking lot. Lala, ignorant to all this, just laughed. “FREEDOM!”

Violet's eyes narrowed.

Beach Party Empty Re: Beach Party

Post by Xenosaga Fri May 17, 2013 11:21 am

"Okay, time for a headcount!" Michelle shouted, waving her arms at the group as they all stepped off the bus so they could place their attention on her. Lala grimaced as she limped down the steps, Mira having to hold her arm and help her down. She sent a vicious glare at Violet who ignored the blonde in favor of digging through her pockets for a cigarette and lighter. Kevin immediately took a step away from his sister, mumbling something about the awful effects of secondhand smoking. "I'm going to call out names so raise your hand and call out!"

"You should have known better," Rain murmured to Lala as he shuffled closer to his two friends. Lala just mumbled something under her breath, causing Mira to give her arm a tug to show her disapproval for her words. Rain rolled his eyes at her antics. "At least it wasn't something fatal. You'll survive a sprained ankle." Violet had ended up using a deadly maneuver involving an almost full 270 degree spin into the parking lot that caused Lala, the only one who hadn't braced herself, to nearly break her neck.

In the end, she survived the incident with no more than a swollen ankle and a very bruised pride. Needless to say, Lala was not happy at the moment.

"Umira!"

"I'm here!" Mira raised her hand, exclaiming as loudly as her voice would allow. She didn't talk much, making her voice slightly hoarse from disuse. She had made sure to clear it a bit before her name was called. Michelle beamed and waved enthusiastically before being silenced by twin glares from Ryan and Rachel. Violet took a drag from her cigarette, the corner of her lips twitching upon seeing this. Sensing the danger this time, the blue haired girl quickly continued.

"Lacie!" She had to squint to see the blonde since Lala was slightly hunched and still using Mira as a clutch. Lala didn't bother to raise her hand and only growled. Michelle pursed her lips, but made no move to call her out on it. She was injured after all. "Carlos!"

"Must you call me by that infernal name?" Rain asked rhetorically and sighed, reluctantly raising his hand. "Present." It wasn't that he hated the name but it just wasn't to his liking. He had every intention of changing it once he left his parents' house. Thankfully, his parents had decided to leave him be about the decision.

"And last but not least," Michelle's voice hitched and she licked her lips nervously. "Uh, Ryanrachel, Rachelryan? Meep!" The blue haired girl immediately hid behind Violet at the dual black auras that lashed out at her. Ryan and Rachel were clearly unamused by her antics. "Kidding! Um, Ryan and Rachel!"

"We exist," Ryan stated through gritted teeth.

"Unfortunately, in your presence," Rachel spat, eyes narrowed.

Michelle swallowed. Violet snapped her cigarette, almost ripping it in two, and let it drop, crushing it under her boot the moment it hit the ground. Unamused purple eyes stared down at the pair, daring them to step a toe over this line. Ryan snorted, rolling his eyes. Rachel barked out a laugh but, like her other, made no move to instigate the woman further. Richard could only rub his aching temples. The aspirin just wasn't working. Luna cleared her throat, bringing everyone's attention on her.

"So who has the umbrella and towels?" She inquired and raised her hand, revealing a sad, deflated beach ball between her fingers. Now that she wasn't in the bus, Luna felt pretty good. She sent a wink at Lucian. "Luce, you can blow it since you're good at that."

Lucian grinned. "Why, I would be honored," he practically purred, resulting in Lillian nearly cracking his skull open with her fist. As she scolded him for being a giant pervert, Rosetta was briskly walking away from the group. Staying would just be a waste of her time. Evan didn't hesitate to follow her, he had already had enough of the group after spending a near five hours with them on the same bus.

Kevin watched the two go with worry in her eyes. "They will be fine, right?" he inquired, turning his head toward Matthew. The white haired man shrugged, the giant umbrella they would be using for shade in one hand and a bunch of towels in the other. Seeing the load, Kevin blushed in guilt and hastily took the towels. "Did you bring the sunscreen? Since you burn easily." Matthew reached into his vest pocket and pulled out the bottle in response. The shorter male released a breath of relief. He had intended to bring all that was needed but had forgotten the sunscreen.

"Kevin!" Suddenly, a body latched onto his arm and the boy blinked. Michelle smiled. "Stop flirting with my brother and come on! We gotta go get changed!" Kevin flushed.

"I'm not flirt-Hey, Michelle!"

Matthew watched his sister drag the boy away before turning to recheck their supplies. He found Violet instead, the icebox and sports bag carrying their swimming gear in her grasp. She tilted her head toward where the rest of the group were making their way toward the changing rooms. Matthew nodded, taking the icebox and walking off to find an empty spot on the beach for them to put their things. Violet went off after the rest. They wouldn't be able to change if they didn't have their swimsuits.
