Sara Charbonneau
Female, 23 (March 17)

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Inheritance: Fire

Bio: Daughter of a retail manager and estranged father and no mother or other family to speak of, Sara lived a very sheltered life, but not because of a doting father. Her mother died while she was still very young and her father threw her into the basement and spiraled into alcoholism. He would frequently beat Sara and she eventually ran away from home. But with no family and no idea how to survive on her own, growing up on the streets was liable to get her killed. The police eventually found her and delivered her back into the hands of her abusive father.

Sara took solace in the sunrise. She would often run from her home in the mornings in order to watch the sun over the Chesapeake. Due to her father's crippling debt and her inability to get a loan, Sara never had the opportunity to go to college and instead worked at a local McDonald's from midday to midnight. The McDonald's she worked at was also a meeting place for gangs and drug addicts, and she one day got caught up in a transaction in process during her break. They stripped her and beat her and only let her go when they were sure she wouldn't snitch. Her manager fired her for ruining her uniform and being late and "fraternizing with the boys on work hours" and was sent home to her father for another helping of beatings.

That day was the last she could handle. Sara decided that if the world didn't want her, she didn't want to live in it either. She climbed the Chesapeake Bay bridge and planned to throw herself off and either kill herself from the fall or let herself drown. She wasn't expecting to be thrown in a totally different world. A world that actually seemed to want her in it.

Now Sara has to figure out a way to survive in this new world or give up like before, but she was never one to pass up a second chance.

Personality: Sara is typically quiet and scores low on most academic tests due to her inability to do well under pressure. She is modest and very submissive to authority. Sara treats people respectfully most of the time, unless she's being made fun of by them. Despite all her powers of observation, Sara is easily fooled.

Clark Halvorsen
Male, 26 (August 31)

Appearance:
Spoiler:
Inheritance: Earth

Bio: Clark grew up with his widowed mother for the majority of his simple childhood. In his early age, he lived in Glasgow, Scotland - and mostly kept to himself, making very few connections with some of his schoolmates. He and his mother would move from place to place, and his friendships would fade away as an afterthought with every new home they settled in. Clark was always regarded as the "quiet smart kid," and hardly anything more. He never set out to make a lasting impression on those he met, as he was more focused on his studies.

When he was old enough, Clark enrolled in the University of Edinburgh with a full scholarship to undertake his studies and major in physics. During this time, he stayed in his own dormitory away from home and became even more solitary. His routine boiled down to having his morning breakfast of mint tea and a tattie scone, attending classes, studying, and then sleeping. Many other students would often come to him for help in their studies, simply based on the fact that he "looked smart" or because he wore glasses. Clark never bothered to know any of them past the lecture halls.

One fateful day when Clark was in the library, a student on the campus had mentally snapped and acted upon a premeditated plan to perform a mass shooting. The killer screamed and cried as he took the lives of many and eventually came face to face with Clark. With tears streaming down the killer's cheeks and finger on the trigger, he pointed his gun to Clark and muttering something under his breath while Clark could only freeze in place, fearful and confused.

A deafening bang and a flash of light later, and Clark had left the world without a fulfilling life to show for it. Indeed, Clark had left the world, but as fate would have it, his life was far from finished. He would awake to find himself in a new world, far from the desks and lecterns he was used to.

Personality: Despite being a typical loner, Clark does not oppose the company of others, but will usually only share his thoughts and opinions when asked of them. When deep in thought, he is prone to pacing back and forth, and spends a lot of his time brooding. Clark respects displays of intelligence, and tends to avoid acting upon a whim - though has moments where he impulsively does so just to break routine.

Julie Snow
Female, 24 (February 16)

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Inheritance: Air

Bio: Julie was the third of three children in a middle-class family. With her eldest brother, the firstborn, being the star academic of the family, and her elder sister being the genius, Julie struggled to find her identity, and mostly remained self-contained. Having been born with a weak heart, she couldn't really partake in any serious sports, and she could never live up to the bar her sister had set up before her. In fact, through some of her earlier school years, she would have to take extended periods of absence due to heart complications, which really hindered her ability to make any lasting relationships with her classmates.

Because she didn't really have the chance to interact with the other kids much, she ended up becoming more and more outcast from the cliques that formed, not really fitting in with any of the typical groups due to her lack of any real talents or interests that she expressed to others. She became very shy, and only spoke when she was spoken to, since she really felt that she didn't really fit in or belong with anyone else... that is, until a boy name Thomas had approached her one day during lunch, asking her why she'd never talk to anyone or be near them. She responded to him that she never really got the chance to, and that she wouldn't really have anything in common with anyone since she wasn't really able to do much of anything.

Thomas, who she later started to call Tommy, told her something that day that really stuck with her: she didn't have to fit in anywhere, as long as she was happy being herself. She opened up to the boy and took up practicing art during her spare time in classes and at home. She wanted to prove to Tommy as well as herself that she could be good at something just like everyone else was. He eventually moved to another city as time went on, but still she practiced her art for him, and for everyone else, eventually becoming somewhat decent, and winning a small scholarship to a nearby community college for a visual arts program.

She had wanted to go off to school like others of her class, but she knew that she probably wouldn't be able to handle all of the stress so quickly, so this scholarship really came in handy. She took the time to get to know both herself and what she wanted to do with her life when the time came to move away from home. She experimented with different styles of art as she took more classes, as well as the type of clothing and wigs she wore, all while still drawing and painting for Tommy in hopes that she would see him again one day. She wanted to find the style that suited her best, even if it didn't make everyone happy.

It took her a bit longer than everyone else to finish her degree plan, but after a couple more semesters than average, she finally reached the end of her plan. The night before her graduation, she was having trouble breathing, but she chalked it up to stress. She laid down to rest, only to wake up in a world completely different than the one she had come to know and get comfortable with. Perhaps this was all a dream that she would wake up from, right?

Personality: Julie used to be very shy and withdrawn, but with Tommy's help, has become self-confident and assertive of what she feels is right to her. There are moments where she is unsure of what direction she wants to take, but once she makes a decision, she wholeheartedly supports it without turning back.
