Cerani's Art Stuff

Yes, I can draw. I've been told by a couple people that I put quite a few others to shame, but I have no idea what they're they're talking about. I'm not THAT good, but I know someone who is. ^ ^ Haha, anyway, it doesn't change the fact that I do love to draw and I would like you all to see what I can do.

I'll be posting a few things in a minute or so.

Damn this site . . . it won't take Photobucket's resizing. Ah well. Red XIII's tail was awesome, if I say so myself. The top are the creatures that were in the Draik forest in Occam's Tales - could've done better on those. The middle is, of course, Karolaine. For those of you that read it, this is not the same Karolaine that is in the Summoning. I like her name so much, I used it twice. The last is Red XIII from FF7, it was part of a contest me and a few friends did amongst ourselves to see who could draw a picture of him better.

I don't mind critique! If you have pointers or tips, I'd be more than happy to hear them.

It's not bad, and you've got plenty of time to work on it. ^ ^ I had to teach myself how to draw faces and human anatomy. ._. 'Twas a bit of a pain, and it took a while, but I got it. But all my people look rather cartoony. Good thing that's what I was going for. ^ ^;

Ah, well then the proportions within the face are correct, it's just face shape you need to work on. But that's an opinion based off of what I saw here.

Thankyou very much! I haven't posted any of the stuff I've done lately, such as Final Judgement. He's supposed to be one of my character's final profession, which is the grumpy old man, Gethren. I'll find the time to put it sometime this week, I hope.

Cerani, you rock. I have trouble drawing a straight line, or even a nice looking curved line (In fact, my handwriting sucks too.)

I dont really know what my talents are, i just know its not drawing , the best drawing i ever made was a drawing of hills. and they were litteraly just hills on a piece of paper with little grass squiglies.

Eh, I guess everyone has their own talents, yah? I'm only good with pencil and sometimes I have a stroke of brilliance with a pen, but I cannot paint worth crap.

I doodle... And decorate... That's the full extent of my artistic abilities.

Haven't done this in forever but I kinda wanted you guys to see this. Be warned: crappy cell phone pics, yaaay!




I sketched up my ideas for what humanoid wings would most likely be like. I figured out that the whole attached at the shoulder blades thing would never work, You might be able to get them supported there, but you'd never fly and you'd end up losing a lot of movement in your arms.



Look at dem bones. Yeah, they'd probably look more like that on us, not like a bird's.



You see, at the shoulder blades, you'd never get enough surface area on you to be able to fly. You have to think of it kinda like a plane . . or a bat even.



Lol, look at that anatomy. XD I'm so glad my art teacher taught us to sketch fast, and not get bogged in details. Otherwise that would've looked a lot more crappy.



Then I drew an actual wing, just to prove that I can draw feathers. That whole wing there took about . . . an hour to do I think, then I put some shading in and whatnot and fixed a few of the feathers.

But that's it. Cerani's obsession with wings is now obvious. ;P

Yes, I knew that much. ;P There was a reason why I chose the structure I did for humanoid wings. We're weird, we have to do things differently for us to be able to fly, like being able to change wing shape on the go for different types of flying.

I even downloaded this one scientist guy's talk on how birds fly and all that, just to get a clearer understanding. Even though we're mostly just now figuring out how they do it and the sheer amount of evolution it took to get there.

edit: I did forget the whole radius and ulna bit though. XD Oops. But I knew what I was going for.

Haha, I just figured out what you meant by bone splits. Ah well. ^.^;
