My cousin was saying that we could now make this chicken chili instead of agreeing to eat his dad's hotdogs every other day (bit of an exaggeration). In placation, I said, "I only like hot dogs in buns."
My mom looked at me a little strangely. "What?"
"Uh, I only like hotdogs in buns."
" . . . What?"
"I said I only like hotdogs in buns." She can be hard of hearing, so I thought that's what was going on.
"Oh. Sorry, my mind went way off into left field there."
I smiled and said, "I like those too."
