Ascension of Ultima
In the lands of Ivalice war broke out and two 'lions' attacked eachother fiercely, stopping at nothing to destroy their newfound foe. The war flared and quickly the Church acted as the in-between to these two superpowers, by acting as the in-between they soon manipulated both sides for their own gain. As the war escalated, the Church decided to finish taking over both kingdoms and assassinated both of the leaders, Larg and Goltana. Both of them were replaced with the Black Ram Delita, and the Princess Ovelia. This united the nation and placed in 'the Chuch's pet', however Delita proved himself no dog and resisted the Church, murdering their assassin and separating. All the while, a young man and the half son of the famed Holy Knight Balbanes, and member of the powerful aristocrat house of Beoulve, Ramza, fought 'immortal' demons borne of the power of the Blood Archangel Ultima, called Lucavi. With each one Ramza destroyed he brought forth more power to Ultima, soon to give birth to the unholy archangel again, all for the sole purpose of searching out and saving his sister Alma, who turned out to be the vessel for the Archangel and was separated from the Archangel itself.
Upon its destruction Ramza and the powerful Beoulve House was dead...

Intro:
It is now a year later, and the world of Ivalice is in a panic! Ovelia and Delita, the rulers of Ivalice and the beautiful couple, have been found with a knife in each heart! They have no heirs and Ivalice scrambles to get a new heir to the throne, and the heroes of past are all found dead. (this actually happens as the epilogue to Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions) Olan takes order and creates a Council of Lions. This council acts as the king would and carries out all pieces of Ivalice, with this council comes the army, this special ops army was rightly named The Lion Soldiers. You are apart of this army, and you are on an outpost in the Lionel region, looking for a fugitive and heretic named Ram Olvis.
For now I'd like to know who's interested first. This Roleplay is obviously the epilogue to FFT, and if you do not know FFT's story and would like to play, I will gladly tell you anything important.
P.S. Also, this is an RP I did like 2 years ago. It turned out to be rather successful.
EDIT: For future reference, this isn't a battle rp. This is completely story based with some fun fighting scenes involved. You don't really have to give yourself level or experience or any of that...naturally though, if you want, I can change it to a battle rp.

Re: Ascension of Ultima
If I put a character in, that's enough to begin. I'll make the topic for character sheets now.

Re: Ascension of Ultima
The captain walked over to the fire. The new recruits should be nearby, some may even be sitting at the fire. "These silly rookies better not get killed." he thought, and sighed at the thought of how many over-excited know-nothings run into battle haphazardly and lose a limb, or a head, or worse yet their honor. He sits down by the fire and looks around in the dimly lit night, and he pets his blade instinctively.
He half muttered and half whispered, "You'll feast soon, Lazuli."

Re: Ascension of Ultima
The darkness of the night put Claudia's soul at ease, yet she glowered into the flickering flames of the fire. Her eyes shifted their attention to the captain who decided to take a seat, perhaps to enjoy the heat of the dancing flames. However, he didn't captivate her for long; her thoughts instantly returned to the thoughts of imminent bloodshed and death. Beside her, a rather large blade was thrust into the ground. It was a mere remnant of her past now, and it was certainly something that was preserving her future in combination with her fighting skills that she now sought to develop further.
Claudia felt sorry for the poor saps who were in the same brigade. As far as she was concerned, they were on their own. If they couldn't pull their own weight, they might as well be but corpses; mere feed for the savage beasts that roamed the wilderness. She hoped it wouldn't come to that extreme, for at least they made great human shields and decoys. Perhaps they were useful after all. She shrugged her shoulders and figured she'd find out in the heat of a fierce battle.

Re: Ascension of Ultima
Yuki sat near the fire, keeping a good distance from everyone else. He held the old book he always carried and used the light from the fire to read. Although it wasn't exactly easy since the fire was still too dim for reading, it kept Yuki's mind off of the topic of fighting. He hated to fight and had only coincidentally learned to use magic because of his excessive studying in almost all topics, and he only used his magic for self-defense.
Closing his eyes to rest them for just a moment, Yuki's mind began to wander off to another topic. He wondered how he got into such a predicament, to wind up as a member of a group that seemed to get into fights quite a lot. But he shook the thought out of his head, it was too late to think about it now for it has already happened and he might as welsl make the best out of this experience. Opening his eyes again, Yuki returned to reading.

Re: Ascension of Ultima
Becca sighed happily, polishing her equipment by the fire. He sword was already done, sparkling in the dirt beside her, and she was now occupied with her breastplate. Smooth efficient movements cleaned the spatter and dirt and grime form the surface, letting the underlying metal gleam in the light form the crackling fire.
Her new commander seemed good. He looked strong and she admired the way he took care of his weapon. He could even be a good prospect for a new believer. The rumors even claimed he was a rather proficient mage. He would be worth following. A warm feeling swelled in her chest as she thought of the upcoming battle, of the blood that would dance in the air, of the lovely feeling of ripping her sword through flesh and bone. Ah, bliss.

The captain stood and looked at his motley crew. "Rise!" he ordered in the darkness, and should anyone fail to immediately respond, there would be problems.

Re: Ascension of Ultima
Becca stood quickly, her armour dropping hard to the ground. She winced when the metal of her breastplate made a high pitched screech as he edge of her sword rasps across it. Hopefully she could shine the damage away or, at worse, buff it out. She silently made a cross and prayed to the saints that the damage would be minuscule.
Re: Ascension of Ultima
A look of displeasure crossed Claudia's face as the cacophonous noise of the other knight's sword scratching her own armor filled the air. Slowly, Claudia rose and grasped the hilt of her sword, but did not pull it out of the ground. Hopefully, the captain would have something interesting to say. Otherwise, she didn't much care for listening to the excrement spewing from his mouth. Her look remained stern so as not to betray her thoughts.
Re: Ascension of Ultima
Yuki rolled his eyes as the order to stand was given, he did not wish to start a feud with the captain this early so he slowly stood up. Shutting his book, Yuki stared at the knight whose sword just scratched her armor. The noise made from it was, hard to describe, but it wasn't pleasant.
"What are we supposed to do here anyways?" Yuki asked.

Re: Ascension of Ultima
The captain showed no reaction to the blade. His eyes stared straight at the crew. 'Line up!" he yelled again, as if it was already implied by the "stand" command.

Re: Ascension of Ultima
Claudia was disappointed. This captain was ridiculous. First off, yelling would only serve to attract monsters and enemies; what a genius. Second, did he really think yelling would get a different reaction? She shook her head in irritation as she lined up next to the others. This guy was an idiot. Such a shame that they were to be led by him. The whimsical thought of her being in a leadership position crossed her mind, and her soul was satisfied. She'd make sure that she'd get there one day. For now, she'd just follow this barking fool, hopefully not to the edge of oblivion.

Re: Ascension of Ultima
Becca grabbed her fallen equipment and slipped into the line. OK, so the leader was a bit snappish, but what was a man without a few rough edges to smooth out. Give her a couple hours alone with him and see if she didn't shape him up nicely. If her sister thought her anything, it was how to bend a man to your own way. To think they were ways to do it that didn't involve the one in question losing a few pints of blood.
Re: Ascension of Ultima
Yuki stood at the end of the line, not caring that the leader did not answer his earlier question. Considering that they were probably gonna be engaged in a battle of some sort soon or something, manners weren't as important. He opened his book and resumed reading while waiting for the leader to give out further orders.

Re: Ascension of Ultima
The captain sighed, he hated giving this speech...
"Why hello there, I certainly hope the fire has been treating you well." again he sighs, but continues, "That aside, respect it and love it every time you come across one in the wilderness." his voice trailed off, recollecting his own experiences. "This fire may save you one day, especially if you're close to Goland." again he sighed, clearly trying to avoid the question. "I realize some of you may only respect me as leader through a little brute force. So, if you so desire, you may challenge me, and I will promise to do my best not to kill you, though it will be hard." He looked around, mostly expecting the vicious one to challenge him. "She will probably rush me without hesitation..." he thought, and was slightly hoping for it.

Re: Ascension of Ultima
Was this guy for real? Was he that intent on wasting time? What kind of a leader was he? Hopefully, Claudia wouldn't have to find out the hard way that he was less than satisfactory. She had to resist the urge to tap her foot. Patience came naturally to her, so it wasn't to hard to push the thought away. Her eyes remained trained on the foolish leader, waiting for him to get over himself so that they could get to the task at hand.

Re: Ascension of Ultima
As the captain spoke, Yuki was lost in his book and could only hear parts of the speech. And he really hadn't much care for what he had heard anyways, mainly because if he did care it would distract him from his reading. Yuki just stood there, and flipped through the pages of his book as he read and waited for someone to actually do something other than talk.

Re: Ascension of Ultima
He could lead if he wanted. Becca didn't really care who was in charge, as long as she didn't have to do it. As for fighting him, better to see him in combat first, then decide if she could take him. In any case, he hadn't challenged her directly, so she let it slide.
Re: Ascension of Ultima
"Well...if none of you will, then I suppose I'll just have to start lecturing." he said, with extreme dissatisfaction. He loved teaching by example, rather than words.
