Imma think Lily is going to get closer to J-E-N-O-V-A in this battle. She needs to start making use of her health and defenses.

I don't think I'll have her use Archer's Fury this battle.

I'd save Archer's Fury for when she's at critical levels. The faster you guys can finish her off at that point, the better you'll be. Plus, you're going to have to rely on items for most of the healing in this battle. Save all your healing skills for emergencies only because once you use them once, you ain't gonna be using them again.

EDIT: Also note that this is an optional battle, so if we lose, we can just come back later. I'll just have something happen so we can get away unharmed.

And after this is our big giant quest for the whatevers, right? =D

Yeah. Technically, we could do the Decaying Heart secret request first, but I advise against it; at this point, we'd get our asses kicked. We'll just focus on getting to Cadencia where we get Czeslaw back, even though Julia interrupts us and practically forces us to save Maldicao form the virus infecting the nearby forest. We have lots to do.

When's that big depressing scene coming around? After this or after the big quest?

That would be after the big quest with collecting the gems of the deities. Let's see if I can give a basic plot here:

-Return after this secret request to hear some stuff from the Elder.
-Try to go to Cadencia.
-End up sidetracked in Maldicao and the nearby forest.
-Make it to Cadencia. (we get Czeslaw back here and learn a bit more about Aronia and Albere)
-Venture into the Blindagem Mountains.
-Raid Elavagia's treasure cove for the Gem of Landscapes.

That's the first third of the gem collection arc.

But we're not going anywhere if people don't fucking post. Seriously.

May I just keep up with Mp and the other stats at the bottom of my posts? How I usually do?

That's fine, but I want some indication of how much MP goes down the drain. If I find nothing of the sort in the post, I'm ignoring the fact that your characters used skills at all.

I get why you want us to do that.

It's a royal pain in the ass to check MP costs. Much quicker if we do it ourselves.

And I have to ask, what is the normal chance of Curse affecting enemies? I assume 50% but I'm not too sure...

I believe it's a 50% chance. For me anyway.

Masq's definition of Curse is different from mine.

In Alidaire Curse does:

Afflicted becomes the victim of a curse and takes damage equal to have of the damage the afflicted deals with any attack for 3 turns.

If we get lucky enough to get that on Jenova the battle will be a lot easier...

What is your definition of Curse Zeri?

Curse - The one who is afflicted with this ailment has their strongest abilities sealed away by evil spirits. Seals all A-Abilities that cost 20 or more MP for the duration of the battle. Can be cured via light-elemental attacks or by Holy Water.

[Masquerade]

Curse as an added effect to a damaging move is 50%. Curse as an added effect on weapons is 50%. A move designed to inflict Curse and deals no damage is 75%.

Don't get your hopes up on getting any status effect on Jenova. She's not immune to them all, but the status effects she isn't immune to will probably never be inflicted on her. There is a chance though, even if it is small.

And I wouldn't worry about Jenova too much....until Cloud dies. Then things might get problematic. He's out best tank at the moment, able to sustain lots of damage and deal it right back to the bitch. The rest of us should just play support, getting in attacks when possible and keeping Cloud healthy.

Lily can help with that. Jenova will most likely be distracted with hurting Cloud, so she can get away with helping him chip away her heath. Plus she'll be close enough to use items on him most of the time.

Well, there you go. Since you're going to figure it out on the first enemy phase anyway, I'll tell you that she starts an Ultima countdown giving you a certain number of turns before she uses it. This way, you see it coming. If you're lucky enough to have a damage reduction move, then you can use it beforehand.

After she casts Ultima, she'll start a Meteor countdown. After she casts Meteor....well, let's just say things are going to get a lot harder.

Or did I not see a post by her explaining where she would be during the break?

What was Masq's last update to the Affinity system? Do we PM him how many points we think we deserve with whoever and add a reason?

I don't think a reason is required.

I just send him +# - [Character Name] and he sends me back an answer. It's not a difficult process. Also, it's easy to determine how much affinity one should get with another.

Alright, thanks Zeri, I couldn't remember if he changed it back to giving us an amount of Affinity and let us put it wherever it belonged.

Nah, Masq is too lazy to figure out affinity for everyone. It's much easier on him if we do it this way. xD
