Hi there, my name's Cerani. I'm one of the mods on this forum and if you have a problem you can come to me, Terra (the other mod), Masq (the admin dude), or pretty much anybody because we're all pretty cool.

You confuse me. I'm probably just not reading your posts right.
So, um, I'm an avid roleplayer and I hear roleplaying is a big thing here, but 10 seconds in, I noticed it looks more like d&d style, which I'm fine with, but at the same time it's completely different than d&d. I'm confused. o.o

Yeah, we have a sort of statistical system going on here. Takes a bit to learn, but it should be fairly easy to understand. But anyway, hello and welcome. I'm known by several different names here, Kuori, Windy, Pandy, and now Kuja. However you may address me as whatever you feel like, just as long as I know you're talking to me. ^^

Think less D&D and more Final Fantasy Tactics. I'm sorry we're not clearer on the what's available and what's not part, but generally when a profile thread is filled out and the roleplay has started more players are not taken. It depends on the GM though, so you can ask when the others are more online. And though we usually do stat roleplays, we do regular ones too. Just take a look around and see what's what.

Alright! Thank you Cerani and Kuja! I was actually going to see if I couldn't be in the Song of Dragons one, since it just started. If not, then I guess I'll just wait until a new one opens. Or maybe I'll try hosting my own, but I've never been very good at being an RP GM.

Neither have I. My advice, start small.

I think I already have the system figured out, actually. (Intense reading is fun) Basically, you have HP, MP, ATK, INT, DEF, SPR, and MOV.
DEF and SPR are taken out of total damage straight (no formula, unless the GM has a different one). MP costs are assigned by the GM. Also, for your starting character, you choose silly-named items which grant +1's, and you get two A-Abilities, or Action Abilities. Your second A-Ability slot is for item. S and R abilities are like in FFT, and they need extra points to unlock. You start with the last ability type (forgot the name), which is a supermove you can use once per fight.

Possibly. We have ways of counteracting those. Take a look at some of our status inflictors, we don't necessarily need to fight your stats.

I was wondering bout status effects. I couldn't find any posts explaining which ones exist. Could you help me?

Also, sorry for the RP, it's crowded as it is. Since I'm new to the system, I'm not entirelly confortable with hosting for a big group, at least not now.

And, as for defense, don't forget the GM will try to balance things out. I can just put an enemy who can do away with your defense, or deal piercing damage, or whatever crazy mechanic I come up with and...surprise!

I've obviously been playing way too much Pokemon HeartGold. Aside from that, allow me to welcome you to my humble realm of Eternal Dream.
