Personality: Easygoing by nature and rather popular, Wil is quite the socialite (despite living in the smallest town in Johto.) People in general flock to him and treat him like some sort of superstar, a situation he's grown rather used to, but not so much that he's grown arrogant. Quite the opposite, he's probably one of the most down to earth people one will have the chance of meeting and it's likely for that reason that he's so popular. Last, but certainly not least, he's very motivated in everything he does, and when Professor Elm (*cough*Senior*cough*) approached with plans of a life-changing journey, he gladly accepted with a fierce determination.

Biography: Born and raised in New Bark Town, Wil spent much of his early life outside attempting to sneak out into the adjacent Route 29. Although constantly warned about the dangers of the mysterious creatures that lived there, he desperately tried every free minute of his life trying to leave in order to see them. Pokemon, as the creatures were (and still are) called, were wondrous beings that fascinated and captivated his world. So despite the warnings he continuously received, he still attempted to leave town by himself–an act in which he rarely succeeded.

On the chance occasion he was able to sneak out however, his wildest dreams were met with utter fascination. Although the Pokemon that inhabited Route 29 would later become known as mere beginner Pokemon, he was enamored with their behavior. They behaved similarly to wild animals, but they seemed much more than a common dog or cat or bird. They grew and learned and seemed to understand their surroundings with great accuracy. It was almost like a second race of humans in an animalistic form! These rare, but cherished, experiences inspired him to see the rest of the world no matter who or what tried to stop him.

And as fate would have it, things were beginning to change in the normally close-minded town he lived in. A Pokemon Professor, highly knowledgeable about the creature that terrified his town in his childhood, moved in next door and it was not long before he approached both Wil and his parents with an opportunity: to travel out into the world with a Pokemon of his own. Initially his parents were against the idea, but after several days of debating (and pleading on Wil's part) the deal was settled. Professor Elm Senior would provide both a Pokemon partner and a human companion to travel out with Wil, and together they would see the world. Together they would be among the first Pokemon Trainers.

Selena Autumn Rose

Personality: A very calm and warm person, Selena is true to her namesake with her love for autumn. She is a very cautious person, especially around people she does not know. Her calm demeanor almost never fades, but those who know her well enough can sense a change in her aura if she feels anxious versus feeling fine. Selena also has a keen distaste for anything bitter or sour. She likes her sweet food. Some think this is a byproduct of her inability to motivate herself.

Biography: Selena was born to a middle-class family with just enough to sustain and prosper. She is a sibling to three boys, all of them younger than her. Because of her life surrounded by boys, Selena is most comfortable around men, though her nervousness around strangers isn't lessened because of this. As the only girl in the family, her parents attempted to raise her to be a strong, capable woman. They at least got the strong part right, as for capable...well, she has plenty of issues to work out.

Selena's silent nature made making friends a difficult task for her, so by her seventeenth year, when a Pokemon Professor came knocking on her door, offering her a chance to see the world, she wanted to take it. At the time, her parents were beginning to worry that she would not have any good friends. The best thing that could happen to her was an adventure to open her mind and ease her heart to the world. Traveling the region with a Pokemon by her side might be the cure they were looking for.

So it was decided. Selena would leave with a Pokemon, becoming one of the first Pokemon Trainers to set off on a journey. Her main objective, to find friends in both human and animal form. And to make things even better, she would begin with two friends, one human, one not.
