Tandor went back into a defensive stance. "I've taken down many a traveler and got my pay regardless, so I guess I'll be adding you lot to the list!" he shouted at them, spit flying from his mouth as he advanced.

Marya punched the air with one clawed glove. She could feel a quick spurt of energy surge through her and she knew that laying the hurt on this guy would be so much easier. Though she could amplify things a bit more. "Yeah, everything here seems to be rather persistent. It'd be an admirable trait if it weren't so annoying," she agreed with Adriane, adding her nervous laugh to the mix, a bead of sweat appearing on her forehead. "We've got birds. And we've got thieves. You'd think there'd be some cops around here or something..." she thought out loud, thinking back to the security cops in the mall that they had to distract to get to the roof. They were pretty clueless. She tried to imagine them fighting thieves like this one...and failing miserably. She sighed.
Marya waits.

"Huh. That's a good question actually. Maybe there's guards or something?" He shrugged, not really concerned with it. Maybe if there were more guards there wouldn't be as many people to bite. Not necessarily a good thing where the vampire was concerned.

He brandished his dagger expertly and tried to stick Authurius with his dagger, but missed by a long shot. Still keeping his cool, he held his ground. This was his road, and these people were going to pay either in money or in money soaked with their blood.

"I imagine they're somewhere," Marya spoke in the same fashion. Back at the village maybe? They certainly didn't keep a good eye on the road. She shook her head and looked at the highwayman, stepping forward. "Lemme get in on some of that," she said to Authur slyly before jamming a claw into the distracted man's side, quickly coming in for a second jab somewhere close to the first wound she had inflicted upon him. Her legs were kept light and ready to move, just in case. Adrenaline was coursing through her vains, and she couldn't help wonder how many people had lost their lives to this man. Doesn't matter...he's about to lose his now, she thought grimly. Flashbacks of her crushing a thief's skull just earlier that night coursed through her mind. She was supposed to be a bubbly freshman. Now she was a cold-hearted killer. She remembered the way the thief pleaded with her, but she didn't believe him. What a strong sense of justice she had and she didn't even know it. It was like she became someone entirely different in battle. She didn't know what to make of it.

Authur actually gave a lighthearted cackle as he nimbly leaned away from the guy's knife swipe. So it seemed that was what Adriane had done, because he couldn't remember being this good. Even dodging a random punch or flailing limb here and there at a rave didn't compare to this. He felt like he could go forever, but he was familiar with that feeling too, and surmised that this effect wouldn't last too long.
Indeed, enjoy it while it lasts.
The vampire stopped for a moment, still wary of attack of course, but curious. 'Uhh . . . hey. Who are you?' He waited for it to respond for a while but heard only silence. 'Great. I hope this isn't like God or some guardian angel.'

Tandor handled the blows and cuts he was receiving rather well, though it didn't stop him from becoming slightly enraged. Taking his dagger, he slashed out at Authurius again, but the vampire was far too agile. "Damn it," the highwayman growled before moving his hand very quickly and precisely, for the wound he was about to inflict had to possess a great deal of control to execute perfectly. But it mattered not, for the attack missed as Authurius dodged out of the way once again leaving Tandor to fume, trying to keep his cool.

Seeing that the highwayman was getting nowhere, Marya took the opportunity to slash the air with her claw, feeling another surge of power flow through her. She was really getting the hang of controlling it, and her combat skills themselves were feeling much more natural. Her hand waved slightly back at Adriane. "Oh, you know us. We're always careful," the neko chimed, an innocent smirk upon her face. Careful was one thing they apparently didn't have to be in this skirmish because this guy couldn't hit the side of a house if he wanted to. It can't be his aim. I think Authur's just too fast for him, she affirmed to herself in her mind, giving herself a slight nod. She transitioned back into a defensive stance and readied herself to lay on some more attacks.

Maybe he really was really good at what he did. 'We may have bitten off a little more than we can chew . .' The vampire kept his thoughts to himself, only snarling as he swung his blades in a cross pattern at the thief guy.

Tandor took the first slash, but he was getting tired of this brutal onslaught and dodged nimbly to the side, hearing the blade whiz past him. Taking advantage of that short amount of time, Tandor ducked and lunged inward, embedding his dagger right into Authurius's stomach, being sure to quickly retract it. He tried to land another swipe, an expert one sure to be much more dangerous, but Authurius must have been back on track, for he was able to get out of the way of that one.

She growled slightly before plunging a claw into the man's side before backing up swiftly. Leaning forward, she performed a handstand and smashed her heel down on the guy's shoulder before twisting suddenly to give him a swift kick in the face with her other foot. She righted herself and brushed off her claws, and then went straight back into an offensive stance. "I gotta say you make a good punching-slash-kicking bag, Tandor," she taunted with a cheeky, confident grin hoping to draw some attention her way. Sharing the pain seemed to be a bit better than having the heat all on one person.

The dagger in his stomach pulled an elongated growl from Authur, and its withdrawal left a dull pain that spiraled from his gut up his spine. He wondered if the blade could have been poisoned or something, and if so how long could it affect him, having no working heart to pump blood through his veins?

He took enough time to slash the vampire before turning on her. "Is that so bitch? Let's reverse the roles!" he snarled as he prepared to slash her with his dagger, but she easily maneuvered out of the way. The highwayman blinked his eyes twice. It took some kind of power within her to use the skill...she wondered what it was. Regardless, she was in for more ass kicking now. She had to hand it to the highwayman's resilience. It must be the reason he's been here so long. No one strong has been able to catch him. "Oh, it must be ironic," she said, aiming her comment to Tandor. "You're the one who kills the victims, but tonight, the...how did you put it? The roles are going to be reversed." Her mind was becoming just a bit hazy. It was almost like in the battle they had with the wolves, and she definitely didn't like it. The feeling wasn't severe now, but what would she do if it only continued to grow from there?

Tandor groaned as he felt the heel collide with his shoulder causing it to snap slightly, and spit flew out of his mouth as he was kicked deftly in the face. He took enough time to slash the vampire before turning on her. "Is that so bitch? Let's reverse the roles!" he snarled as he prepared to slash her with his dagger, but she easily maneuvered out of the way. The highwayman blinked his eyes twice. She had to be a few times faster than the other guy who seemed to be a bit lagging at the moment. Maybe that wasn't such a good idea...

Authur had little more to do than listen to the others taunt each other and slice at the highwayman a couple more times. The maid had given Marya that little boost too and it looked it benefited her far more than it had him. Must be the whole cat-like thing in play. Come to think of it, he couldn't remember either of them having much of a reaction to their respective transformations. Even now he found he didn't really care that they were different. They both liked it, or so he could tell from Marya's non-freak out about the whole thing.

Tandor growled, ignoring Marya's snide little comment. It became pretty obvious she was just toying with him. He turned on the one who had cut him, also ignoring the maid's pathetic attempt to attack him, and dug his knife into the vampire's chest. "What's wrong, blood boy? Not quick enough no more?" He twirled his dagger expertly and left a rather unique cut near the one he just made, but this one seemed to produce much more blood, something the vampire himself had been trying to do on the highwayman.

Silence. The cuts had been too much for Authur. Marya's eyes froze wide as she realized it. She knew he wasn't gone. They just needed Tandor gone so they could tend to him. "Why...why didn't he attack me?" her words echoed out through the area, asking no one in particular. She was the one that was supposed to get cut up, not him. Not Authur. No. No. No. Marya fell to her knees. This made twice that she was forced to watch one of her best friends fall. She remembered the last time. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!" she screamed as she remembered what had overcome her...no, what was overcoming her. Right now. The neko clutched her head in pain as she felt herself losing control. Between short screams came maniacal laughter until her body grew deathly still. When she finally stood up and raised her head, it was obvious. The wide, vacant eyes. The eery smile with the teeth sharpened to points. She had succumbed to the Craze.

Not even a word. The sound of Tandor's jaw cracking filled the area as Marya launched a vicious punch at him. "Play with me now....play with ME now!" she screeched into the sky before she leaped over him and ducked down, snapping her leg out for a deft kick to one of his own legs causing him to crumble to the ground. She took the chance to go airborne again, falling straight down so that both feet collided into his hunched back and used the momentum to rocket into the air again for another powerful collision before performing a backflip and landing in her original spot. "Why don't you knife me this time, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?!" she questioned him with the huge grin, laughing at his crippled body.

"Mister Authur!" Adriane gasped as the younger man's body fell to the ground defeated. It was not his fault though, he... he had only done what was to be done. Rather the blame lied with her; the Vampire had fallen because of her carelessness. She knew his evasion boost would have faded by then, she should have seen it coming earlier when he failed to dodge. It was her fault he had fallen, and it was her fault that Marya was going crazy now.
"I'm sorry Miss Marya..." Adriane murmured as the girl's insanity caused her to go overboard with the thief. No doubt he would not be standing much longer, especially if she kept up her onslaught. But just Marya attacking him and a poor apology would not make up for Authur, no it would simply not. Reaching in his direction again, Adriane attempted to whack him with her feather duster.

Tandor tried to keep his cool, but it was nearing impossible. His left shoulder was definitely broken, and his jaw was snapped right out of place. He tried to mumble words but found he couldn't talk. That, and it was unbelievably painful to do so. At first he thought his back to be broken too, but she must not have stomped down on it hard enough, for he found himself standing. A malevolent look flashed in his eyes, but that was all he could muster. Taking his dagger, he thrust at Marya twice, but it was no use; she just dodged out of the way each time.
Tandor moves to D1.
"Mmoanovndlla!" Tandor shouted unintelligibly with his broken jaw. It was like the jaw part of his skull was shifted out of place, jutting out the side of his head. He reached into his vest and pulled out a throwing knife, aiming carefully and tossing it at Marya to try and disable her. It pegged her right in the arm and it was over.

Marya smiled snidely as the thief managed to miss her twice. After each failed attempt, she dodged inwards and landed a heaving blow on his chest knocking the air out of him more than once. It was a throwing knife, the blade coated in blood. Placing the blade to her nose, she whiffed it and let her tongue smoothly glide over the blade, lapping up the blood. Her eyes sparkled with delight as she got on all fours and howled to the sky. She found that the arm she pulled it out of was quite useless which put her into a state of despair.

Tandor tried to keep his cool, but it was nearing impossible. His left shoulder was definitely broken, and his jaw was snapped right out of place. He tried to mumble words but found he couldn't talk. That, and it was unbelievably painful to do so. At first he thought his back to be broken too, but she must not have stomped down on it hard enough, for he found himself standing. A malevolent look flashed in his eyes, but that was all he could muster. Taking his dagger, he thrust at Marya twice, but it was no use; she just dodged out of the way each time.
Tandor moves to D1.
"Mmoanovndlla!" Tandor shouted unintelligibly with his broken jaw. It was like the jaw part of his skull was shifted out of place, jutting out the side of his head. He reached into his vest and pulled out a throwing knife, aiming carefully and tossing it at Marya to try and disable her. It pegged her right in the arm and it was over.

Marya smiled snidely as the thief managed to miss her twice. After each failed attempt, she dodged inwards and landed a heaving blow on his chest knocking the air out of him more than once. Tandor didn't hesitate to pull another knife angrily from within his vest. How? How could she be mocking him after what he had done to her? He growled, but then stopped because it was too much strain on his jaw. She had succumbed to Craze. It was the only thing that made sense. A column of flame spurted up behind the enraged, broken highwayman, and when it dissipated, Claudia was revealed to be within, the one who had saved them earlier. She grabbed the blade on her back casually and swung it in front of her. "Do you know what the word caution is?" she questioned the only sane person around: Adriane. Claudia shook her head and plunged her sword right through the highwayman, raising him into the air and slinging his body to the ground with a thud. For good measure, she brought the blade down twice on his helpless body.

"Oh dear..." Adriane whispered, ignoring their savior for now and instead choosing to focus on the Vampire. Surely he would be alright, but it went without saying that he was likely weak at the moment. But she could fix that quite easily; reaching into her pocket, she quickly pulled out a familiar bottle and teaspoon. Moving over to the young man, she opened the bottle, poured the strange purple liquid into the spoon and then shoved the medicine in his mouth. "It may not be the tastiest thing, but you'll be feeling better soon enough."

Claudia was quick to abandon Authurius to let him recover in favor of grasping the crazily laughing Marya by the neck. The girl just let her eyes roll around comically before Claudia raised a hand and smacked her hard across the face. With no mercy, she let the girl fall to the ground in a heap. She looked back to the other two. "I know it seems a bit harsh, but I was doing her a favor," she explained, brushing off her hands. "When the Craze sets in that deeply it takes a lot to snap out of it, though usually it goes away on its own. Regardless, we need her focused. Now."
Raising a hand, she pointed out over the hill to the village. "It's a straight shot from here. You shouldn't have any more problems, though you lot seem to be pretty prone to getting into trouble." She turned her back on the group. "I'm going to follow you back to the village since that's where I'm headed anyway. I have a long detailed report I'll have to do when I get there. Better have the hot tea ready for me."
Marya groaned and instantly placed a hand on her throbbing cheek. It felt like it were on fire, and she knew there would be a bruise there. That's when she realized she was thinking normally again and let out a sigh of relief. Authur seemed to be stirring. Adriane was just fine. She turned her head to see Claudia standing there. "You...you saved us again?" she managed to get out. Her cheek was swelling a bit, and she realized it had to have been Claudia that smacked her to bring her back to her senses. It took her a moment to realize her words were pretty hard to understand. Claudia appeared not to acknowledge her.
