Harry Potter!?

Soooo, yeah. That last suggestion wasn't quite popular.

How about this one then?

Many of you probably know about the Harry Potter series. Books, movies, television, Potter Puppet Pals, and other such sources~<3

Well, how would you guys feel about a non-statistical, casual, (unoriginal) Harry Potter role play? Of course, it would take place after the last book, so we don't really have to go through shit with Voldy. Like I said, it's a casual role play. Nothing special about it, just a normal role play.

Also, before anyone starts making a profile in preparation for this...there needs to be one and a half rules...

Rule #1 - You MUST play your own gender. I've had enough of pure-female groups. I never see a pure-male group. But who would want a sa-er...nevermind. ^^; Just chose your own gender please~<3

Rule #1/2 - I would prefer that you give them a believable name. I don't want to see a japanese name, because I highly doubt any of you are japanese. Chose a name that fits your character, and try to keep it the same nationality as yourself.

Now that you know the rules, feel free to make a profile. I hope you all understand as to why these rules are being put in place beforehand.


If enough of you are interested, I'll let you all know through a private message. At this time I'm going to give an outline of the profile you should make, if interested. ALL PROFILES ARE TO BE PM'ed TO ME! ONLY YOU AND I WILL BE THE ONES TO SEE YOUR PROFILE! VIOLATORS OF THIS RULE WILL BE SHOT... TWICE.

Code:

Name: (If you don't know what this is...I will slap you with a fish.)
Age: (I would prefer everyone start out as 1st year students, age 11, but feel free to be a 2nd year or even a 3rd year. That's my limit though.)
Gender: (Chose your own, please, unless you have an EXTREMELY good reason. e.g: you're a hermaphrodite or just gender-confused.)
Appearance: (I'm going to be strict on this one. You'll have to search photobucket long an hard for an appropriate picture. Descriptions are fine, as long as they are...descriptive.)

Personality: (By far the most important part. What is your character like? What does he or she like and dislike? Why? Is your character intelligent? Is he or she a snobbish know-it-all? Is your character hot-headed or patient? Sensitive or sadistic? Republican or Democrat or Apathetic? Does your character enjoy being out in the sun, or do they prefer the dark corridors of the castle dungeons? What is your character talented in? Do they love music? Do they hate music? How many questions am I going to offer you so you can help completing your profile perfectly? Maybe one more, perhaps? Finally, what House would your character rather be Sorted into, or do they not particularly care?)

Biography/History: (Simple, really. Just fill in as much as you can about your characters past. If you write a college paper about him or her, great. If not, that's fine. If you don't want to fill this out at all, that's fine too. I'm not going to be strict about this, it's just something that should be in her, ya know?)

Sorting Hat: (What you would like the Sorting Hat to say while it's atop your character's head. This is only here because I'll be controlling that little hat thingy most of the time. If you would prefer to do it yourself, just let me know here.)

Friends/Enemies: (This is the ONLY part of the profile that will be public to everyone before I approve it, or even see it. You may collaborate with another member of the role play and become an enemy or a friend before the role play even starts. Of course, there's going to be quite a few assholes roaming around Hogwarts, but think of this as an extra. It MUST be mutual, which means the names of the character other players are using should be on yours, and your character's names should be on theirs. On the off-chance that there is not mutual agreement, I will send a message to the one LACKING the character's name. With that name, you must tell how you met the person in order to become friends or enemies. Whether it be as siblings [I will allow there to be siblings in this role play], childhood friend/enemy, or otherwise, I want to know about it. I think this is it.

Teacher Preferences: (Ah! Almost forgot this one. This is pretty much which teacher you would like to "control" the most during this role play. I'm giving these positions out under one condition, YOU must be the one to prepare for the lessons that teacher has for the day. Which means, you will be the one teaching us about magic. If you want to make up a new spell, most of the words J.K. Rowling used are Latin. If you want to switch it up a bit, you can try sound-alikes; e.g: Expelliarmus - Expel-the-arms. You may control up to one teacher. This space can also be used for likes and dislikes. Whether the teacher dislikes you, or vice-versa, upside-down, downside-up, let me know about it here so I can prepare discreet taunts and insults in advance.)

Blood Status: (It seems I forgot something in my excitement. I looked up my previous outline and saw that this one lacked Blood Status, so I'll just slip this in here. Okay, what this really means, is how much wizard or witch blood you have in you. The choices are: Mudblood, Halfblood, and Pureblood. ...I'm not too excited about having more than two Mudbloods. Halfbloods and purebloods are okay in that matter. Please note that one slot for Mudblood is already taken by someone else. If it so happens that there are two others who put down Mudblood, it's first come, first serve.)

And above all else, have fun making your profile!

What you are to do now is let me know how many of you are interested. If I get enough messages or replies, I will post a character profile thread in the appropriate forum with a list of players.

ANYONE CAN JOIN! I don't care if you have absolutely ZERO knowledge about Harry Potter. We'll just have to teach you about it.

One last thing, if you want to know who my character is going to be, (seeing as I'm posting her last), I'll give you a hint, and nothing more...In her name, either it be first, middle, or last, there is the name of a type of flower.

By the way, just as a heads-up, we all start somewhere in Diagon Alley. The upper classmen can start wherever they want in Diagon Alley, including, but not limited to, the Weasley's Wizard Wheezes and the Leaky Cauldron. First-years need to be slow about getting their stuff, since they are first-year students. It could be alone, or with a parent or relative, it doesn't matter which.

Oh, and the Sorting Hat will be controlled by me as a default in case you don't put anything there. =3

One more heads-up, anyone can control a NPC. That includes most of the student body, some of the teachers, and, of course, random magical creatures like goblins and house-elves and the like.
