Crystal's family consists of demons that constantly try to kill and eat each other for more power.

Crystal has evolved beyond the point of being forced to eat other demons to gain power. Now she just has to kill powerful things. =3

Ein's father was a hard-working paranormalist that left him and his mother behind after expressing a desire to travel, but the mother didn't want to. His mother was a seamstress. She made clothes and junk. Ein hated how mundane of an existence both professions were; he didn't want to waste his genius. So, he left his mother behind.

Fun fact: Ein's father actually meets Valincar as a phantom. He only escapes from the ruins alive because of his great communication with the dead.

Uh...not sure...maybe the target(s) are placed on a chess board and gets beaten to death by biological weapon-chess pieces, ara?~~~

She had an insane violin loving mother who murdered, consumed the flesh of, and tailored the skin of her father and wore it around every chance she got. And then she forced Alice to play the cello in... certain... circumstances until Alice went on a rampage and slaughtered everyone else in her family on accident. Not that anyone else knows... everyone thinks they are still alive :p

I think an Ein-Marie C-Ability would be easier. Ein slams his hands into the ground transmuting stone or steel or whatever into chess pieces that Marie guides into various enemies, slamming them and squishing them left and right. :3
