Tales of a Dreamer: The Giant Evil Tomato Colony

On a tropical, remote island just off the coast of Ermith, there lies a hostile colony of evil tomatoes that just grow and grow and leech off the tiny land. Two warriors are sent to extinguish this threat, though most people think it's a joke the Empire is playing on them. But this threat is serious, these tomatoes are in the process of building nuclear warheads a way to Ermith lands to leech off of that land and take over the Ermith Empire.

It is up to our heroes to eliminate this giant tomato colony!

Two young warriors travel by boat, the wooden ship being steered solely by wind alone, to a forsaken island just off the coast of Ermith. One of them, a tall male with angled features and a small, wooden stick by his side. The other, a short, bright female with noticeable curves and a small paper fan hung on her waist.

The ship let these two warriors off just before the coast, forcing them to swim the rest of the way and get caught up in the waves and wash up shore. Soaking wet with sand in unwanted places, the two warriors rose to their feet.

The female blinked a few times, looking down at herself. She brushed some sand off her clothes a few times before frowning. The girl then impulsively shoved her hand down her chest and began rubbing sand out of her cleavage. "Ugh! I got sand in my boobs!" the girl complained, removing her hand, annoyed that her attempts at removing sand from her body parts was unsuccessful. "Shen, gimme a hand here, will you?" the girl whined, grabbing onto the male's arm and pressing it against her chest. "You have the better angle, get this crap out of my cleavage!"

He had to swim all this way from where the ship's captain graciously dropped them off in the middle of the sea. Why couldn't the guy just went a few hundred more meters and then dropped them off? Especially when he was just walking down the street one day and then suddenly got pulled over, being threatened with execution if he did not agree to go on this goddamn mission. Now his clothes are completely soaked and there was sand everywhere; it was uncomfortable, to put it mildly. The wooden stick he was given to use as a weapon, which was already crappy enough in and of itself, was now soggy. And the book he carried around with him, Martial Arts for Dummies, was soaked and the pages were now ruined. He flipped through the book, sighing in disappointment at seeing each of the page now smeared with ink to the point where the words have become illegible.

"Screw that guy, dropping us in the ocean like that." Shen said, glancing toward the direction their ship went, "What made him think that was a good idea? Did he eat paint chips as a kid? Ugh why I ought to-"

Shen's little rant was suddenly interrupted when he felt his left hand touched something rather soft, and he slowly turned to his companion. His suspicions were correct, the girl was holding his hand to her chest asking him to help her get the sand out from there. He swiftly pulled his hand back, his face reddened to a slight blush.

"Have you no shame woman?! Don't ask me to do this kind of stuff for you."

"But Sheeen! It feels funny and it huuuurts!" the girl whined again. She puffed out her cheeks and pouted up at the taller male. Senna was never one for feeling shame, she didn't understand why Shen was making such a big deal. "I asked you to, so obviously it's okay to touch. Stuuupid." Senna stuck out her tongue at Shen before swiftly turning on her heels and crossing her arms over her chest, still pouting.

Senna's turning around actually helped the duo, as she noticed something rustling around in the bushes further back on the island. Interested, she began walking over to those bushes, hovering over them when she arrived. "Hey Shen, I think there's something in these bushes!" Senna shouted back excitedly at Shen, all of her annoyance from before vanished. In response to the bushes rustling again, Senna's mouth grew into a huge grin.

Senna retrieved her paper fan and opened it, the rip in the center appearing for all to see. Like Shen's wood stick, Senna's tool was also ragged and useless. Senna giggled and slashed at the bushes with her fan, rustling them violently. "Haha! The bushes are rustling, Shen! Get it?!" Senna continued to laugh and giggle like a child with a new toy. That is, until her face was met with a large, red berry that sent her flying back down into the sand next to Shen.

Senna blinked a few times, looking down at herself. She seemed to have gotten herself buried under the sand somehow, and now her clothes were entirely covered in sand, inside and out. "Ewww, Shen, now all the sand is everywhere!" Senna giggled, though she didn't seem pleased by the sand. Looking up at what attacked her, Senna saw a large tomato sitting on the sand. "Look Shen! A tomato!"

Shen sighed and watched his companion suddenly run off to beat on some bushes. He grew curious and slightly frightened thinking of what could be hiding in the bushes and making it rustle, that is until Senna opened her mouth again. Shen mentally facepalmed when he heard Senna laugh at her own joke, the girl had a dirty mind.

"Don't spook the wildlife you twit." Shen warned, although it sounded more like an insult.

Just as Shen said that Senna came flying through the air and landed with a soft thud just a few feet away from him. Sand was now all over her and Shen sighed knowing what was to come next. He was right, Senna began complaining about the sand again. He glanced toward the direction his companion mentioned toward and saw an oversized tomato. This time he literally facepalmed.

"Did you really just get beaten into the dirt by a vegetable? Dear god, why?" Shen sighed.

"It's not my fault!" Senna cried, rubbing her eyes to remove some tears, "that thing just cam out and tackled me! Stupid berry!" Senna stuck out her tongue at the ripe red tomato, until a line began to appear on the tomato's front. The line curved sharply up and down, stretching across the tomato's surface, like jagged teeth.

With an impressive roar, the tomato split open a mouth-like opening, revealing the juicy insides of the tomato's gaping maw. Senna immediately shrieked and jumped up onto Shen's back, wrapping her clean white arms and legs around the poor man tightly, crushing his abdomen and his neck. In response to the tomato's roar, another tomato, similar to the first, rolled out of the bushes and two large fly-like creatures appeared from the trees, their huge, circular jaws only aiding Senna's freak out.

"Oh my god! KILLITKILLITKILLITKILLIT!" Senna screamed in Shen's ear, tightening her grip on him.

The girl's sudden, "embrace" caught Shen by surprise, causing him to lose his balance. Luckily he regained it before faceflooring into the sand but now he was in a slightly uncomfortable situation of giving this girl a piggy back ride. Not to mention she was in the process of both breaking his lower spine and strangling him at the same time.

"Agh! Ack! Hk! Gk!" Shen tried to form words, but the girl's grip on his neck made it difficult, and the fact that she tightened her grip after seeing the rest of the creatures didn't help matters.

Shen stood a few steps away from one of the tomatoes that spooked Senna into almost killing him herself and managed, after quite a bit of work, to pry loose Senna's arms from his neck.

"Shut up and fight them you idiot." Shen said after taking several deep breaths.

Senna starts at F-3

Feeling rejected, Senna backed away from Shen and moved to the side a bit, frowning and crossing her arms over her chest. "Shen's a big meanie," Senna puffed, turning her head away from him. Senna grabbed her fan and flicked it open, covering her nose and mouth from view, only glaring at the two tomatoes and the two giant flies...

Wait...

Senna shrieked, "EWWWW, FLIES!"

Shen tried to ignore the obnoxious girl's whining about their enemies, it wasn't like they could do anything about it. He kept a tight grip on his short flimsy weapon and glared at the tomato in front of him. It would be good to wait for them to come down to the beach, down to where there was much more room for them to fight. It could perhaps give them a nice advantage.

"Now Senna, don't go running out there like an idiot. Lure them out first." Shen said to his companion, although he doubt she would listen.

"...No!" Senna said indignantly, already running over the sand and to a tree in the distance. She had spotted something behind the tree, and wanted it. Senna raised her fan and stabbed the tree in front of her, following up by slashing at the tree with the sharp end of her fan until the entire tree fell down with a mighty crash on the sand, covering everyone in it. "Aha!" Senna declared victoriously, pointing at a bag that sat behind the tree that Senna just decimated. "I knew I saw something! Look Shen! It's a bag!"

"Dammit Senna, didn't I already tell you not to spook the wildlife?" Shen shouted at his comrade.

As much as Shen would loved to have waited to watch Senna being swarmed by the insects and vegetation, if he didn't intervene they would come after him next. And he wasn't very confident in his ability to take down all four of them. He ran after Senna, stopping in front of a tomato to give it a good punt.

"But I want it!" Senna whined boyishly, skipping up to the bag and snatching it from the ground and digging inside of it almost immediately. She paused for a moment, thinking she grabbed something, and pulled whatever it was out. It was a piece of string. "Oh wonderful, you've found a bag. That's real helpful." Shen commented sarcastically on Senna's little discovery, "Now can you please come and help me bash these things' fruity brains in?"

Shen then proceeded to toss his rather pathetic weapon into the air and resort to using his bare hands. Taking a stance with both hands in front of him and his knees very slightly bent, Shen delivered two quick punches before dashing off to the side.

Senna seemed to be a bit overly excited to find such a useful item. She stuffed the large bag away in her clothes and skipped back toward the tomato that Shen was attacking. She raised her fan dangerously and slashed at the tomato repeatedly, five times carving into the fleshy fruit, causing many bursts of tomato juice to fly out of the fruit and splatter on the ground. By the end of it, Senna grinned and licked off the juice from her hand, giving her an alarming appearance.

"It's soooo tasty!" Senna exclaimed obnoxiously.

Shen was about to go and beat on the tomato more, but one of the insects had flew in his way. From the looks of it, the insect would probably be rather resilient to physical blows. And he did not have enough practice to harness ki very well either, so an attack on the fly's spirit would also likely be less effective than he'd like it to be. But on the other hand, Senna seems to be doing rather well, fending for herself. She might not need much of his help here.

"You hold them off for the moment, I can't really do much right now anyway."

Shen sighed and nodded, Senna apparently being a bit too whiny for him to ignore. Although Shen was known back in his homeland for being extremely patient, the martial artist could already tell the girl was going to get on his bad side by the day's end. However Shen could not help but smile slightly as he witnessed one of the tomatoes puff up and suddenly exploding into a red juicy pile of fruity goodness.

"Fine, and here I thought you could hold your own against these things." Shen replied with a slight chuckle, "Especially since one of them just blew up."

With that said Shen picked up the piece of driftwood he called a weapon and took a few steps then jumped over Senna, bounced off the tomato that was still intact, and landed to its side. Shen then proceeded to smack the mutant red fruit twice.
