Tales of a Dreamer - Iceweed Addiction
Krephu. A wasteland known to many in Naletia as the continent of lost hope. No man ever wanders into this continent without knowledge of it, for to be ignorant of this frozen land is suicide. The bitter colds and the harsh winds will quickly snatch away the lives of the unprepared. As it is, only people who can brave the noise-like storms and survive are the inhabitants of the continent. And as such, it is they who farm the land for the rare herbs that grow in such conditions, suitably dubbed Iceweed.
Iceweed is a large, floral plant that grows down, it's roots locked onto a study surface, like the strong, mighty trees that inhabit the mountainous regions of Krephu. This mysterious plant has many uses, it provides material for cloth, a cloth that is impervious to ice. It also provides a source of food, as the root is very much edible and grows in large proportions in comparison to the plant. The flowers that Iceweed produces also has a very unique ability. The light blue petals of the flower are hard as ice, cold to the touch, and impossible to melt or break by any means. But the most interesting thing about these flowers, is the ability to preserve and boost the mana supply of anything that holds it, including humans.
Of course, since this flower has such a unique ability, the secrets of it's power were kept a secret by the small, democratic government in Krephu. They kept it a secret from the war-loving continents of Ermith and Sar'tu and Amezi. Only the citizens of Krephu know of the Iceweed's capabilities.
Of course, with every great power, comes a great curse. The first to find and use the Iceweed flower's power, was also the first to turn into ice himself. Of course, this process took many decades to come about, and by the time the man turned to ice, it was already nearing his time to die. This curse of Iceweed's flower was not much of a threat to the people in Krephu until much later, in the second century of it's use.
One woman who used the power of Iceweed used the power of the frozen flower to destroy an enemy that she hated in her heart. Another human. Two years later, the woman turned completely into ice. The only explanation, is that when that woman killed another human, the Iceweed flower was angered, and brought about retribution upon the woman.
This new concept of Iceweed conscience behavior brought up an entire religion to worship this powerful plant. The religion abolished the use of this plant's flower in anything except for worship. However, that did not stop people who did not participate in that religion to stop wearing the flowers. And so, a civil war broke out.
In fact, that civil war is still going on right now. How very interesting!

As you can probably tell, people are going around and banning the use ofMarijuana Iceweed in Krephu, but some people aren't obeying that. It is up to our heroes to settle this debate once and for all!
...But what insidious plot could lie just beyond the corner...?
This is a fairly non-linear, choice-based RPG.
And no, the inventory will never be "too full." I promise. You can carry the whole-fucking-world in your pack, I don't care. It won't be full.

Re: Tales of a Dreamer - Iceweed Addiction
Mingle City. A small, low-altitude plot of land that was assigned by the democratic government in Krephu to welcome any travelers and prepare them for their awaiting adventure into the bitter cold higher up. Krephu is a fairly mountainous continent, with the average height being 1200 feet above sea level. Mingle City is just 300 feet above sea level, making it the perfect place for travelers to start in.
Although it is called Mingle City, the size of the city is more like a town, when compared to more populated continents like Ermith or Sar'tu. Most travelers do not arrive in this continent due to it's harsh conditions, and some who decide to brave the weather don't make it out in one piece, if at all.
Due to Mingle City's small size, it is a fairly quiet city, save for the few livestock that live in these temperatures crying out in the distance. Near the outskirts of the city, two well-dressed adventurers face each other and argue with loud voices that are soon drowned out by the howling blizzard. At first look from any traveler from Ermith or Sar'tu, they would believe these two to be absolutely out of their minds to be out in such harsh conditions. But to any resident of Krephu, this was a daily occurrence.
"How many times do I have to say it?! I am not removing that which is a part of me!" The woman shouted, her voice quickly drowned by the blizzard. The male attempted to reply, but a large gust of wind blew a chunk of snow into his face, which he quickly wiped away.
"Your rebellious attitude will not help you here! It is sacrilegious to wear Iceweed! Remove it or you will feel the wrath of the Iceweed flower that sits in your hair!" The monk shouted back, pointing to the budding flower that the woman wore in her light blue hair.
"I'm not a part of your damned religion, don't preach at me! I don't want your beliefs shoved down my throat!" the ice-woman declared with a mighty growl that would have seemed twice as impressive if the air around them was quiet.
"Insolence!" The monk flung his arms in the air to shield his face as he was greeted with another gust of wind and clumps of snow. The woman shook her head to get snow out of it, flinging it at the monk's direction, who growled angrily. "Have you not heard the stories of what happened to those who used that flower?"
"Of course I have!" The woman glared at the monk indignantly, "So what if they turned to ice? The flower simply reacted to the emotions of those people. When one believes there is nothing left to do in life, they die. That is law in Krephu!"
Another powerful gust nearly toppled the woman over on her side, but she stayed upright and strong. The monk, however, did fall onto his back as a giant clump of snow slammed into his chest. His groaning masked by the blizzard, the monk got up and glared at the woman, raising his finger at her. Any more shouting was drowned out immediately by the wind.

Re: Tales of a Dreamer - Iceweed Addiction
Two companions, a young man and a much younger teenage girl, had arrived at the continent of Krephu at last. The journey had seemed like such a long one, but that was most likely due to the sheer anticipation felt about wanting to reach their destination. Upon doing so, the duo left their boat to explore the small city called Mingle City. Of course, it was absolutely freezing with snow everywhere, and the wind was rather harsh this day, though not too bad within the city, for the buildings helped to keep it at bay.
"It. Is. Cold." The words of the young man filled the tranquil but were carried away by a particularly strong gust of wind causing him to grimace. He looked to his female traveling partner; it seemed as though she had not heard him. He couldn't help but feel foolish, for he wore the garments he always wore: light clothes made of thin fabric to boost his agility. His partner had chosen to dress much heavier: a coat, gloves, and a scarf. She seemed to march on indifferently as he had his arms crossed and shivered.
"I SAID IT IS COLD!!" the young man stopped and shouted causing his partner to stop in her tracks and give him a funny look, her head tilted out of curiosity. Other passersby were giving him weird looks, but they understood. "Foreigners," they muttered under their breaths and laughed before moving on.
The young girl produced a little brass bell from her coat and rang it a few times, its docile notes sounding so sweet amidst the frosty air. "Please refrain from stating the obvious...it's annoying," she said sweetly and smiled innocently before moving on along the street.
He was used to that kind of response, and he knew that she was joking. So, he shrugged his shoulders, laughed slightly, and moved on lest he be left behind. The two had no definite destination; it was just a giant exploration. They skirted their way through the entire city, seeing the sights and speaking with a few of the locals until they made it to the very outskirts where they would embark into the much harsher conditions soon. It was there that their walk was disrupted by a rather distasteful argument between a man and a woman.
"Yikes...better let this be," the young man said uneasily and turned to head into the opposite direction back into town, but had to stretch out a hand to hold his companion back. She briskly dodged his touch and marched towards the fighting couple. He sighed. There was nothing he could do now but watch.
The young girl fearlessly approached them and took out her bell once again, ringing it only once. "A toll for peace," she said gently, her eyes gazing from the woman to the man and back to the woman. "Is everything all right?"

Re: Tales of a Dreamer - Iceweed Addiction
"Ah, foreigners!" The woman started, a small smile spreading across her face. It seemed that she would make any excuse to stop arguing with the monk. The monk growled again, annoyed that he couldn't convince the woman, but he stopped arguing as well, knowing it wouldn't do him any good here. "Welcome to Krephu!" The woman's smile spread a little wider, her gaze drifting off of the girl with the bell and to the shivering boy a few feet back.
"I see that one of them is slightly more prepared than the other," the monk observed, looking at the lightly-dressed male. "You foreigners won't survive very long without proper clothing, Mingle City is the warmest place in Krephu with temperatures as high as 6 degrees. Fahrenheit, mind you." The monk waved his hand in the air, as if dismissing that fact as something tolerable.
"Come with me," the woman told the two gently, already pushing the girl towards one of the buildings, the monk roughly handling the male inside the building as well.
The temperature inside the house immediately rose 9 degrees as soon as the door closed, blocking off the fierce winds from entering. Although it did not amount to much in numbers, it was like a godsend to those who entered. The woman quickly left the two foreigners and the monk alone to go off into another room, which vaguely resembled a cooking area in Ermith homes. As soon as she disappeared from sight, the monk took the two others to a place where they could sit down. A furnace sat unlit on the other side of the room, the residents of the home not yet feeling cold just yet.
The chairs they sat on were made of a very thick, rough wood that seemed like it would never break. A small amount of cotton covered the seat, providing a little more comfort. The floor and the walls and the ceiling of the house had also been made from the same wood. There wood was not painted a different color, nor were there any paintings or idols sitting around the house anywhere. There were a few chairs in what could hardly be called the family living space, along with the unlit furnace. On the far end of the room was the opening in the wall that led to the second part of the house, the one that resembled a cooking room that the woman with the blue hair and white dress disappeared behind.
Through the small opening in the wall, the side wall of the cooking area could be seen with another hole. From this position, nothing inside of that new room could be seen, but it was made of the same wood as all the other rooms. Fu paused for a moment, allowing the two foreigners to gather themselves and get used to the temperature before speaking.
"That woman is called Marigold Diaski," the monk mentioned first, then gestured to himself, "I am Fu. Both of us reside here in Mingle city, awaiting travelers such as yourselves." Fu gave both of them a strange look, "It is our job to provide proper protection from the cold in the higher altitudes of the continent."
"Tell me, what is it you wish to do here in Krephu?" Fu inquired, his piercing yellow eyes staring right through both of them.

The young girl was a bit surprised at the reaction of the woman, but let her lead her wherever it was they were going. She looked over to see the other man grabbing her companion. These two weren't hostile, so she figured everything would be all right. Her companion was much too cold to complain or fight back, so both of them were whisked away into an unknown building. It was much warmer inside, or at least to her, and her companion definitely seemed to enjoy it, his grimace melting away slightly. They both took seats as the woman went into the other room and the monk began to speak to them, introducing who the two were.
Bowing her head, the young girl spoke. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Fu. My name is Amy Rhodes, but you can just call me Nanaro. My shivering partner's name is Vance Granadas. He's my fool. I love him very much," she stated simply, keeping her expression rather indifferent garnering a strange look from Vance.
"To be honest, we have no idea where we're going, but our goal was to explore this entire continent--to find secrets in this land. We didn't have much to leave behind, so we came to find something more here," Vance explained. It was a rather broad task they had set for themselves, but it was an honest one. It would be difficult, but they were indulgent and carefree. They wanted to see it all, and that is what they would stand by.
"It is as he has said," Nanaro agreed, nodding her head. "In essence, we shall be wandering around like crazy people." She smirked as she heard the sound of Vance's palm meeting his forehead.

"That's not very specific," the woman, Marigold, had returned to the living space carrying a tray of steaming, hot mugs on a tray. Her dress swayed lightly as she made her way towards them, the small bud in her hair twinkling at them. Marigold smiled, handing the two foreigners each a mug, "I hope you enjoy hot tea, though it might be a bit bitter," she said kindly, handing Fu a mug as well before setting the tray aside. She hadn't made a cup for herself, so she merely sat in a chair next to the monk with the tray resting on her legs.
"Oh," Marigold startled, as Fu gave a quick yelp of pain from taking a sip of the tea he was given, causing some of the liquid to fall to the wood floor. Marigold rolled her eyes at him, "If you could, Fu, try not to damage the floorboards."
"Your tea is too hot!" Fu grumbled, wincing and glaring at the tea.
"The tea isn't too hot, you are cold," Marigold said simply, then smiled at Vance and Nanaro. "It is good that you are traveling to different places and exploring the world, but you should really come prepared. I'm sure that you know of Krephu's harsh climate. This is the lowest and warmest altitude in the entire continent, it only gets worse as you climb."
"This area is also surrounded by mountain ranges," Fu mention, getting over his burning mouth to take another sip of his tea. "You couldn't see it before because of the wind and snow, but on a clear day you would see the enormous mountains that surround Mingle City. In fact, one such mountain has a large store of valuable ores. The Diaski family is in charge of it."
"Most of my family lives on the mountain, but I decided to live here in Mingle City instead," Marigold informed, her smile spreading a little, "This is my house, it's just by the outskirts of the city so I can catch people who decide to go out unprepared. Before you leave, you should stay the night here. You need to get used to the climate here before going to the harsher regions, and I can help you do that."
"One of us will accompany you up the mountains as well," Fu added harshly, scrutinizing the two foreigners, "The paths up the mountain are numerous and dangerous, but once you are close to the mines, you'll be able to tell which paths to take yourselves and we will leave you be."
"But that is for later," Marigold interrupted, glaring at Fu before he made another comment. "For now we'll leave that choice to you. You can stay here as long as you need to, it is up to you when you leave."

>Depart Later (mwahahaha)
Nanaro blew on her tea and waited a few minutes before taking a sip. She noticed Vance wasn't partaking in his own and wondered why; he had to have been much colder than she was, but she figured it didn't matter. What mattered was the true severity of the region. It was obvious that her and her companion were definitely unprepared. To think that they were going to waltz into this unknown region, to them anyway, and explore without the slightest hint of what they were doing. It was a good thing they were stopped by people who knew what they were doing.
"Well, sounds like you two have noble intentions in mind. Thanks for stopping us crazy fools; we really appreciate it," he said, finally tasting the tea. It was indeed bitter, but he was used to it. He actually preferred it that way. I'm surprised she doesn't have a problem with it. Guess my tastes are rubbing off on her, he thought, a gentle gaze falling upon her before focusing on the other couple again. "So we know what's immediately before us, but what about the land beyond? Will there be more cities that we can stop and rest at? And are their any dangers we should be aware of besides the weather?"
"So now he sees the importance of having a good head on his shoulders. Very nice," Nanaro quipped, smiling upon hearing the sound of Vance's palm colliding with his forehead. She said nothing more and drank some more of her tea.

Re: Tales of a Dreamer - Iceweed Addiction
Fu looked at Marigold now, watching her expectantly. Marigold rolled her eyes once and smiled at Vance. "This continent of Krephu is a very mountainous one, and probably the largest continent next to Ermith. Of course, Krephu is the highest continent with the highest mountains, some of which extend far beyond the limit where humans can climb." Marigold paused as Fu sipped his tea noisily, his attempt at trying to get into the conversation. Marigold ignored his antics and continued, "The lands beyond Mingle City and the Diaski Family Mine appear to be level at that height, but there are many dips in the terrain that you can miss and fall down. Most people who fall off the cliffs are never found again, there was one man with an extraordinary amount of luck who survived the fall by landing in a large pile of snow after a heavy storm."
"That man reached a nearby town and gave a report, but died from shock trauma within the hour," Fu added, nearly interrupting Marigold to say that. Marigold kept cool and calm, ignoring Fu's attempts to annoy her.
"In total, there are six major cities in Krephu, with 11 little villages. Mingle is one of those cities," Marigold pulled out a piece of parchment and straightened it out with Fu's help. It was a map of Krephu, which appeared as an enormous-glacier continent covered in huge humps that were the mountains. Marigold pointed to the area that had the least number of bumps with a few tall mountains surrounding the area. "This is where we are now, Mingle City." Mingle City was very close to the edge of the continent, making it the perfect spot for the one and only port in Krephu.
Marigold dragged her finger to the largest mountain a few inches from Mingle City on the map, "This is where the Diaski mine is." The areas Marigold had pointed to seemed relatively insignificant in comparison to the size of the continent, where Mingle City and the Diaski mine covered hardly any of the large map. "I'm unsure of the exact locations of the other cities, but all of them are fairly far apart. The Capital City of Krephu is here," Marigold traced her finger past the mountain ranges and pointed to a flatter area with smaller bumps along it. "There is a large plateau here where the city is located. It is still protected by the smaller mountains that surround it, and it is also the home of a large army the government decided was necessary. In case Ermith or Sar'tu decided to attack us."
"The terrain is dangerous all by itself," Fu mentioned, looking up from the map as Marigold folded up the map. "But there are also groups of beasts that appear every so often that threaten the safety of travelers. Typically you find only snow wolves or bears in the mountains that are hostile, but if you come close to sacred grounds like the Diaski Mines you can sometimes find wrathful spirits wandering around. Of course, that is if you are smart and travel during the day. Much worse beasts come out at night. If you are ever unlucky enough to meet a nightly beast, you best chance of survival is to fight and defeat it with magic."
"Is there anything else you'd like to know?" Marigold asked.
"This is where we are now, Mingle City." Re: Tales of a Dreamer - Iceweed Addiction
"Mm, certainly sounds thrilling. Perfect vacation destination, dear," she directed towards Vance causing him to blush slightly and roll his eyes. "My dear friend is not a pedophile; do not worry. I think we've heard everything we need to hear. I have a pretty good idea of what we'll be in store for," she said and smiled, though the tribulation that awaited them would be most likely nothing to smile about.
"Yes. She's always this carefree and naive," Vance interjected before the other two could respond. "But I agree. I don't see how there could be anything else we need to know. There are sanctuaries out there somewhere and now we know the dangers. Not to mention we'll have some extra help for a while," he reasoned, seeing as how one of the two would act as a guide through the start of the harsh terrain. That was certainly welcomed.
Nanaro took out her bell and tapped it lightly against Vance's arm, the instrument letting out a sort of half-ring upon being used in such a manner. "So what do we do now, exactly?" she asked, continuously tapping Vance's arm with her bell causing one of his eyebrows to twitch.

Re: Tales of a Dreamer - Iceweed Addiction
"For now, you will rest." Marigold said, standing up from her chair and taking Fu's empty tea mug. "I have enough room for everyone to get some rest. You don't have to sleep, you only need to rest your body so that you have enough strength to tackle the first climb." Marigold smiled a little, showing off her pearly-white teeth.
Marigold and Fu showed Vance and Nanaro to places where they could sleep or just rest for a while and left them alone immediately afterwards. Marigold and Fu went in their own directions to begin preparations for the upcoming climb and hike. Marigold put together a few articles of clothing for Vance and Nanaro while Fu assisted by placing a few rations into a pack that he or Marigold would carry up the mountain.
Within an hour or so, Marigold and Fu had finished preparing for the adventure outside. Marigold had found a spare travel map that showed a miniature continent of Krephu, but no locations other than Mingle City had been marked on it. Marigold took the liberty of marking the Capital City's location on the map before sticking it in a pocket on the pack Fu had prepared.
Marigold opted to finish the final preparations for the trip so that Fu could get some rest. She had already decided that he would be the one to join Vance and Nanaro and guide them up the mountain to the Diaski Mines. Since the start, only two hours had passed when Marigold roused Vance and Nanaro, coaxing them out and telling them that Fu would be their guide.
"If anything ever goes wrong, come straight back here, you hear me?" Marigold was telling Fu, who rolled his eyes at her.
"I am more than capable of guiding two travelers up a mountain," Fu said blandly, then looked towards the two travelers he had alluded to. "You two ready to go?" He asked, making sure to hand them the cloth that Marigold had made, "Wrap that around your waist, it will protect you from the cold." Fu seemed to glare at the clothing with contempt, something about it must has set him off.

>Move out!
The duo made sure to do as told and wrapped the cloth around their waists. Nanaro twirled about and Vance merely wondered what this cloth would do for them exactly, but he supposed that they'd find out soon. "Let's go ahead and get a move on," he spoke up. He hadn't gotten any sleep; the excitement had been a bit too much for him. He knew Nanaro hadn't slept either, most likely. After all, their little expedition was finally about to begin.
"Thank you for all the help, Miss Marigold," Nanaro stopped and said to the woman. She was very nice. "Mister Fu deserves thanks too. You've both been such a blessing to us. We couldn't have asked for better hospitality," she added, bowing her head to each of them, though Fu would be going with them up the mountain.
"Yes, thank you both. Very much, in fact," Vance tacked on his own appreciation.

Re: Tales of a Dreamer - Iceweed Addiction
Marigold smiled brightly, her blue eyes twinkling magically. "Of course, you are both very welcome. If you ever get in trouble, don't hesitate to call on me." Marigold looked over at Fu and nodded to him. He and she made the way over to the door, Marigold opening it and Fu leading the way outside. The wind had died down considerably during the small respire in Marigold's home.
Fu craned his neck upwards and watched the sky, seeing the clouds above their heads. "Another storm is coming soon," he said, still observing, "We must make careful haste." Fu returned his gaze to Marigold, "We will stay inside your family's mine this time around as well. I do not wish to be caught in another storm on a mountain."
"Just make sure you get there before the storm hits," Marigold replied seriously, then smiled and waved to Vance and Nanaro, "Goodbye, you two. Have a safe journey!"
Fu waited for Vance and Nanaro before taking the lead out of Mingle City and into the wilderness, their path unclear to the naked eye as a fresh coat of snow lay on the intended trail. Fu led them with utmost certainty and confidence regardless. He, like Vance and Nanaro, wore a small cloth around his waist. It soon became apparent to them that the small piece of cloth was doing an effective job of protecting them from the cold. It hardly felt like the temperature was below freezing, although it still felt cold.
"It's called Iceweed," Fu said, grabbing the cloth he wore around his waist, "It is a plant that only grows in Krephu, it thrives in such harsh conditions and actually shields itself from the cold. It's aura is very large, so that's why having only this much can protect your entire body from below freezing temperatures." After Fu explained the use of the Iceweed, he stopped talking, opting to save his strength for the climb up the mountain. Every so often he would look back at Vance and Nanaro, to see how they were doing.
A few minutes passed before Fu clicked his tongue, seemingly annoyed. "Today is a bad day, we've got some company." Just as Fu alerted the other two to the presence of beasts, a white wolf appeared from the snow, a few others digging their way out of the frozen water to join the first. They all seemed angry, probably because they were just coming up from being buried.
"These wolves hunt in packs, and sometimes call for help." Fu said, "They need to be taken care of in a quick and timely manner."

Re: Tales of a Dreamer - Iceweed Addiction
Vance starts at G2.
It seemed that their simple ascent was not going to be as simple as they thought it was. Of course, it couldn't be helped if wild creatures got in the way. Vance produced some senbon from a pouch at his side and laced them between his fingers, ready to toss. "It's a good thing we can take care of ourselves. I couldn't imagine coming up here with people who couldn't defend themselves," Vance stated. It was true that both he and Nanaro were at least competent in the ways of battle.
Nanaro starts at H4.
"Mhm....I'm certainly not useless," Nanaro stated defiantly, taking out her bell, for it was indeed her weapon. She manipulated sound using magic to damage those who heard her melody, and directed elements into her tones to create offensive spells. She only knew basic stuff, but she constantly imagined new things she could do with her magic. For now, she would settle with roasted wolf. "Unlucky day for the wolves, I say," she said nonchalantly with a slight giggle.

Fu attacks Wolf! 7 Int DMG! 4 EN spent (basic attacks cost 4 EN by default).

Vance moves to F2. [-1 EN]
"Gotcha, boss. If we take them down one by one, this should be no problem," Vance stated as he took a step forward and aimed at the wolf Fu injured. He launched some senbon and watched them soar through the air with great speed, lodging themselves into the wolf expertly. He knew more advanced techniques, but he'd call on them when the situation arose. He glanced at Nanaro, but she had some unreadable look upon her face--one that he was pretty used to. A sigh escaped his lips and he prepared more senbon for another assault.

Nanaro moves to G4. [-1 EN]
So, Vance wasn't going to heat things up. Seemed like was leaving it up to her. "Very well," she said aloud suddenly, ignoring the glance Vance shot at her. Holding her bell into the air, she rested her eyes upon the wolf. "This bell...it's tune shall bring us warmth," she said ominously, pulled her arm back, and then swung it forward causing the bell to ring, playing a loud note. A ball of fire surged out of the bottom of the instrument as she swung it down. It flickered as it flew through the air, aiming to strike the wolf and singe it.

"Shit," Fu muttered, wincing in pain as the wolf he was attacking countered and chomped on his leg. Another wolf nearby came to help that wolf and also tore out a bit of Fu's flesh on his leg. Fu could feel the bitter cold wind hitting his wounds. The wound was shallow, but enough to draw blood. That blood was almost immediately frozen as soon as it came out of Fu's body, which prevented any sort of severe blood loss, but Fu knew better than to be relieved by this. Having and open wound was a one-way ticket to hypothermia.
Fu looked back at Nanaro, she seemed to be fine, even though her attack had missed. Vance, on the other hand...Fu noticed that Vance was not used to this cold, and that alone made him more susceptible to hypothermia. And with those wounds from the other wolves he received, there was no way he wasn't getting hypothermia right now. Just the frozen appearance of Vance told Fu everything.
Desperate, Fu ignored the wolf he had attacked first and instead ran towards the high rock face on the side, pulling back his palm and preparing to strike with all his might. "Look out!" was the only thing he shouted to the others. A small ball of his energy formed in his palm as he slammed it against the rock, causing the whole wall to shake in response. The shaking continued, getting more violent until a large stream of snow shot over the top of the rock face and slammed down on Fu and most of the wolves, two of them getting knocked off the cliff.

Re: Tales of a Dreamer - Iceweed Addiction
Vance moves to H2. [-2 EN]
Two wolves had been so brazen as to launch an offensive against him, and there really wasn't much he could do about it. He felt their fangs sink into his legs...which didn't feel very good at all. Looking to his side, he watched Fu lunge into action, knowingly punching the rock face to cause an avalanche. Vance took the opportunity to retreat. There was still one wolf completely unfazed by the avalanche, and it was close to Nanaro. "Fu, I hope you're doing all right under that snow," he called out to their guide who had suffered the consequences of starting an avalanche. He shivered as his attention shifted to Nanaro. He didn't feel too well; it was really, really cold.
"Nanaro, wach out!" he called out to his friend, and performed a short sequence of hand signs before placing his index finger and thumb in front of his mouth and blew through the space between them. Instead of a small cloud of breath escaping, a jet of blazing fire shot out and scathed the wolf, the flames dancing outwards in the shape of an 'x', melting the snow in the immediate vicinity of the attack.

Nanaro was perplexed, but shouldn't have been surprised. Though she knew the ways of battle, she hadn't actually practiced that much in it. Logic said that a rather dinky sphere of fire would be at least decently easy to dodge, and that's exactly what the wolf did. She shook her head as she watched Fu perform a rather dangerous stunt, but it did wind up having a wonderful effect overall. Two wolves fell off the side of the mountain, a setback for them and a triumph for the travelers and their guide. It was then that she heard Vance and leapt back just a tad.
Nanaro moves to H4. [-1 EN]
"You'd better be glad I wasn't caught up in that," she stated simply and pointed her bell at the spot where the flames danced away. They were so bright, she couldn't even see if the wolf was amidst them or if it had shied away a moment before the attack. Regardless, she wasn't about to relent. "Singe!" she shouted and swung her bell outwards, another sphere of flame soaring through the air, intending to hit the wolf.

Thanks to Fu's quick decision making and actions, the enemy ranks had been cut in half, with only one of the wolves actually able to fight, as the other was frozen to the spot, under the snow. Granted, Fu was also under the snow, frozen and unable to move. He could see out of a hole in the snow that covered him Vance and Nanaro continuing to attack. So they were the type to continue fighting even if their leader was down for the count. That was good.
Nanaro's aim seemed to be very foul, as the wolves that she kept attacking would dodge out of the way. Vance's attacks were hitting consistently, so they should be able to handle that wolf fairly easily.
Fu is frozen...

Fu waits.

Re: Tales of a Dreamer - Iceweed Addiction
"Nanaro...we need to do something about that aim of yours," Vance muttered grimly and gestured over to where Fu was buried. "Make yourself useful and help our guide out. He's in need of a bit of thawing. I'll distract the wolf--"
Nanaro was greatly displeased and it showed on her face. "I'm not useless," she said, trying to make it sound indifferent, though the tint of anger was undeniable. "Besides, if I threw a fireball at him, it would hurt too much. He has to stay frozen. We need to work together. You know if one of these things hits it, it'll be hurting," she explained calmly. "NOW BURN!" She swung her bell violently as another ball of flames was sent hurtling towards the wolf.

I'd do it myself, but if I don't watch myself, I'll wind up overexerting and then I won't be able to do anything, he thought as he launched a small plethora of senbon at the wolf Nanaro was desperate to fry. Not to mention I'm freezing my ass off...I just feel like taking a nice nap... He clutched the remaining senbon in his hand in order to get a grasp and focus on the task at hand.

Fu continued to watch Vance and Nanaro's progress with that one wolf. His dangerous stunt had put them in a very good position. Fu had feared that if he hadn't done what he did, they would be very quickly losing to that group of disoriented, angry wolves. Those two travelers seemed to be handling themselves rather well, though. Nanaro managed to hit the weak wolf, giving it a severe injury. All Fu could do was wait for his body temperature to increase and melt the snow.

Re: Tales of a Dreamer - Iceweed Addiction
Nanaro waved her bell through the air and launched another fireball at the wolf that had viciously attacked her. Though her defenses had nothing on Vance's, her friend was in pretty poor condition; it was best that she take the brunt of the blow for now. She was also worried about Fu, but she knew he wouldn't have done what he did if he couldn't handle the consequences. He's very strong...and we're very lucky, she thought as she glanced at the freezing Vance.

"Vance. We've got to at least finish it off. You know what to do," she said, returning her gaze to the wolf. She couldn't look him in the eye after saying something like that. He was tired, and she could see it. He definitely needed to rest. "Just once..."
"Don't get mopey now; it's unbecoming of you," Vance said and shrugged his shoulders, slamming his hands together and going through the myriad signs needed to evoke his ninjutsu. "Gotta let me rest after this one," he said and placed his fingers to his lips. "Cover me." With that said, he blew through the space and a jet of flames surged outwards towards the wolf, concentrating their bright dance in the spot where the wolf was before spreading out.

"You don't even have to say it twice," Nanaro replied firmly as she gazed vacantly into the blazing flames that Vance produced. She heard the sound of crunching snow; it was Vance falling to his knees. She could see it out of the corner of her eyes. He just needed to take a little break. In the seriousness of the situation, she felt like screaming at him to pull through anyway, but there was only so much he could do. She couldn't always rely on him; they had to rely on each other.

Vance waits.
Taking a deep breath, Vance closed his eyes and held his arms tight against his body, shivering. He was numb. And he didn't like it. He almost wanted to feel the pain that the wolf had caused him earlier--it showed that he was still alive. But now...he was useless. And he was counting on Nanaro to protect him. Wanting to open his eyes, he found that he couldn't. He didn't even have enough willpower for that. Sh-shit...things turned pretty nasty pretty quickly, he thought in slight despair. If I knew it was going to be this dangerous, I would have told Nanaro that we could go somewhere else. Too late for second guesses.
Nanaro moves to G3. [-2 EN]
Seeing that Vance was completely unresponsive, Nanaro trudged through the snow and stopped right in front of Vance, separating his body from the wolf. She stretched her arm out slowly, her bell dangling ever so gently from her hand. Her gaze was still vacant, and her eyes stared unyielding at the wolf. "Flames," she said quietly, the word lost in the air, but she rang her bell downwards, another sphere of flame shooting out of the bottom and heading straight for the wolf. "Come at me if you're strong enough, dumb wolf," she glowered. Her body pleaded for her to get away; whatever the wolf planned to do was sure to hurt, but she would not relent. Not now. Not when Vance was counting on her. And it seemed Fu was back in working order. She didn't acknowledge him. If the wolf didn't see him, then his attack would be a surprise against it.

Fu punched his arm up out of the snow, finally regaining enough energy and warmth to move. Feeling revived, Fu brushed the snow off his body and climbed to his feet, breathing heavily. He saw Fu and Nanaro and the lone wolf remaining, all of them battered. The wolf seemed to be nearly dead at this moment, Fu needed to take an immediate advantage over that. He stepped to the side and stood behind the wolf.
Fu clasped his hands together in a fist, raising his arms, his robes moving back to reveal his well-developed muscles. A small orb of energy appeared over his fists just as he slammed his double-fist down on the wolf with a incredible force and energy.

S-Ability Bell of Life activates! [+1 HP Recoverd][+1 MP Recovered] (<--totally forgot about this lol)
HP: 14/20
MP: 21/50
Nanaro, seeing Fu launch his attack on the wolf, decided to add her own spice to the medley, and she was ready to serve up something mean. Well, it wasn't anything different than before, but this time, it would be more ferocious. "Glad to see you're all right," she called out to Fu and nodded before swinging her bell through the air, a fireball flying out the bottom and striking the wolf right in the face, the flames more lively than before. It was three against one. Even with Vance in his sorry state, there was NO WAY they were going down now.
Nanaro casts Pyre on Growl! 12 Fire Dmg! (INT) [Sure Hit] [-5 EN]
MP: 14/50
Nanaro waits.
From behind the young girl came a slight chuckle. It was Vance. He had his eyes open, though he looked so tired, it was unbelievable. "I think I have enough in me...for this," he uttered and tossed some senbon expertly around Nanaro, the needle-like projectiles soaring through the air to strike the wolf. He had put as much force as he could into it. He hoped that a fireball to the face would stun it long enough for the senbon to sink in.
Vance attacks Growl! 8 Dmg! (ATK) [-4 EN]
Vance waits.
