Altima waits.

Altima let out a sigh of relief, but she couldn't quite remember why. She looked around again and suddenly realized that she was in a battle. Yes. That was it. Though, by the looks of things, it seemed like the remaining monster was as good as finished. Altima made her dim sphere of light vanish, knowing that she would no longer need it at the moment.

~Chapter One continued~

It was finally over. There first battle in the world of Karn. Kai let out a sigh of relief. Not that the battle was difficult, it was just challenging to face creatures that, less than an hour ago, existed only in the pages of a book. Speaking of which... He tugged the book he received as his prize from the straps that formed a holder for it against his waist. He idly opened it, and was stunned to find that the first three pages or chapter one, previously blank, held a detailed record of what happened since he arrived at the Meddler's home, including the thoughts he had during it all. He shut the book a bit hastily, concerned with what he saw.

As thought about it, his gaze drifted over the room, settling on the statue that they had arrived in front of. At first, it meant nothing to him, but he started to recognize it. The sharp chin, the angle of the cheekbones, the piercing look in the eyes. It was a near perfect image of the author they met before being transported there, though maybe a decade or so older.

"Ah,two questions," he said, raising his hand, "Does your book have a record of what just happened too (it should) amd does that statue look like Mr Medson to you too?"

~Chapter One, part two- Meddler Shrine~

As the group examined the temple, they slowly drifted towards the main door. There really wasn't much to see inside, but the courtyard outside was littered with battered and broken statues. As soon as they set foot out, a yell emerged from the forest.

"Hey! What are you guys doing!" Four females pushed through the shrubbery and into the court. "This ruin is Raider Guild claimed!"

"Really?" Kai asked, concerned that they had accidentally trespassed.

"Well... No. But it will be once we defeat you!" That said, the women drew their weapons and declared battle.

Chillwhisper stared at the four, a strange, light blue glow surrounded her nearly translucent body and the tempature around her had dropped to freezing.

"Aw, how cute. You think you can kill me." Chillwhisper commented, "Sorry to spoil your fun, but I'm already dead."

Altima had been astonished that her copy of the book was recording her journey in...whatever this place was. However, she quickly forgot it when some more hostile people showed up. "Perhaps you are seeking enlightenment through the Void? I can help you get there. It's a magnificent place. Maybe we could throw a party!!" Her reverie ended for a moment. Silence. "What were we talking about again? I hope you're not planning to hurt me. I don't find that in good taste." The sphere of dim light appeared in front of her and she prepared for battle.

Armanthia's fingers continued to glide gracefully through the strings she used for weapons. She turned to Altima, her head cocked to the side once more. Her talk of this void was somehow happy-making, and it was sounding rather intresting.

"The Void? Why it sounds like a magnificent place. We can have a party! Wish to bring them with us?"

Chillwhisper had a malicious grin on her face as a block of ice formed on Rika's arm, the ice slowly spreading and eventually Rika was covered with a thin shell of ice. Then Chillwhisper floated into a wall to avoid retaliation.

Altima smiled. It seemed that so many people were interested in the Void. She'd have to take them all there eventually, but for now, she would stick with aiding her enemies in getting there. She raised a hand and focused. Her target's mind became obscured with a dark cloud in which her subconscious would wander forever...hopefully. Perhaps she would forget all about it; Altima knew she would.

-Nico looked worried, possibly thinking on the effects of the last attack. She moves beside Karlie and pulled an arrow it a vicious looking spiral tip from her quiver. Without a word, she drew the string back to the max and let it loose at Vector. Without missing a beat, she drew an normal arrow and shot it at Kai.

Lena moves to D5. Lena cast Shadow Hold on Armanthia! Armanthia takes 6 dark damage! Armanthia is immobilized!
-The dark mage Lena quietly moved past the sleeping Rika. The hood hid her eyes but he lip was curled into a sneer as she extended one black-claw tips finger and pointed at Armanthia. "Shadow hold!" she scowled. Her shadow extended rapidly and intertwined with Armanthia's. The shadow then reached up and wrapped around the puppet master's legs, squeezing them tightly.
