"Agh! You're making it too fucking EASY!" Xylia shouted in the bandit's face. She didn't intend to frighten them any more than she intended to excite them. She wanted to taunt them. She wanted them angry like she was angry. Such a rage could be used against them, and only made her power even greater. She could feel her blood pumping beneath her skin. She dodged the second attack only because she saw it coming a mile away. This man was not bringing forth his full effort, not in the slightest. So she pulled back her fist and decked him.

Xylia moves to C-4
As soon as Xylia moved away from the bandit, leaving him for Alessia to finish off, Wisteria followed immediately, not wasting her opportunity to get behind another body. As long as none of the bandits could reach her, that was where Wisteria wanted to be. She needed protection, about as much as Elisia needed it. And Elisia was in a bad spot. Wisteria wasn't sure what the archer's plan was, putting herself into a corner like that, but it didn't seem a smart one.
Regardless, Wisteria had to use the power of her chain again. This time with a different purpose. She revealed the white chain attached to Elisia easily enough and took a hold of it. The moment she did, the whole thing began to glow and slowly evaporate into the air as Wisteria claimed it's power and sent it along to the archer.

Running her blade through the brute that Xylia had, for the most part, broken, Alessia turned on her heels. It seemed Elisia had some sort of idea going but had not voiced it to the others––her positioning, however, was not advantageous. In fact, the bandits were already upon her, preparing their own attacks!
"Elisia, be careful!" Alessia ordered, charging forth with her blade raised. She didn't want any harm to come to the girl, and it appeared that's all that was coming her way at the moment.
Alessia moves to D5!
Elisia scowled as one of the bandits came up behind her and sliced her up; truth be told she should have been expecting it, but she thought they might have been distracted by the much more threatening Xylia. Surely that meant there was something in these machines they didn't want them getting to! Ignoring the attacking bandit she quickly slammed a couple gold coins in the machine and hit a random combination of letters and numbers, a large bottle falling.

She grabbed the bottle––perhaps both machines needed to be activated for something to happen? The Sharpshooter's eyes fell to her comrades. "There's got to be something going on with these machines," she called out. Before she could gauge any sort of reaction, however, she noticed a slight falter in the approaching bandit's stance. Instantly she sprang forward, using him as a spring board to leap out of the corner she had locked herself into.

Taking note of Elisia's little plan, but still not quite sure the girl had the durability to go through with it AND finish fighting off the remaining bandits, Alessia once again began charging her empowerment spell. "Take care of that one then," she declared, marking the bandit nearest the Sharpshooter for death. As soon as her mana came to fruition a seal of power appeared over the younger woman's head and shined brightly. "Seal of power: Open!" Alessia chanted aloud, watching as the strength from before returned to the bow-wielder.

Not bothering to argue with the woman who had suddenly become a little overbearing, Elisia swiftly knocked and fired another speedy arrow at her assailant. She had quickly decided it was best to cover the wounded archer now before her wounds overcame their meager healing supplies, the Magic Knight quickly slid past the thief and raised her shield.

As soon as her mana came to fruition a seal of power appeared over the younger woman's head and shined brightly. "Seal of power: Open!" Alessia chanted aloud, watching as the strength from before returned to the bow-wielder.

Not bothering to argue with the woman who had suddenly become a little overbearing, Elisia swiftly knocked and fired another speedy arrow at her assailant. With even greater reflexes she drew another arrow––fire mana suddenly welled at the tips of her fingers as she loosed it. Instantly the arrow burst into three flaming projectiles and traveled the miraculously short distance to impale the man. "There's no need for me to hide now," Wisteria announced, stepping forward boldly and raising her finger at the bandit chasing after Elisia. She would not allow him to walk any closer to the archer. Even if it meant using her other spell. Demons always troubled Wisteria, but her father had been extremely patient with her. Wisteria's floating tome flipped madly to a different page and began to glow a vibrant green. Wisteria raised her free hand so that her palm and every finger attached to it pointed directly upward. With a smooth, determined breath, Wisteria channeled the magic required and summoned from beneath the bandit several arms and clawing hands of demons. They gripped and pulled at the bandit, ripping the cloth he wore in places as the hands fumbled to grab onto him.
"Grovel." Wisteria commanded.

"That ought to do it, she reasoned, pocketing the candy bar and watching the two machines. Would something happen? The bandits had seemed pretty keen on her not getting into them.

Xylia pulled back her fist again, but this time instead of using her foot to catch the bandit off guard, she just threw her fist at him, full force. The force of the blow was sure to send the man reeling, if not flat on his ass. Xylia cracked her knuckles back into place once she pulled her fist back to her own body again. If there was any downside to hitting someone with bare hands, it was that she could wind up breaking her own bones. But that was only if she wasn't careful. With tricks she learned a long time ago, she could just pop the joints to provide a sort of cushion for them.

Xylia felt the blade sink into her skin and shivered in delight. It was so close. So very close to making her feel truly alive in the moment. She wiped away from blood from her cheek and let herself loose. She felt like she could take on the world when she got this hurt. It was like her power was being freed from the prison of her flesh. It was exhilarating to finally be able to reach this kind of absurd strength.

With the first room cleared and no signal from the paladins, the group was free to keep exploring and ridding the lab of the bandits that had made a home of it. They headed across the hall to the other room only to find it locked and inaccessible via the skeleton keycard. They would have to find it. Heading to the next room past the locked one on that side of the hall, they used the skeleton keycard and the mechanical door slid open revealing what was probably an actual lab. Unfortunately for the previous tenants, all the equipment had been demolished and replaced with things like arcade machines, pinball machines, pool tables, and Foosball tables to make it look like some kind of recreation room. There was no doubt that all those goods were stolen, and there were a few burly looking fellows in leather jackets and black jeans with chains hanging off of them. They looked shocked to see intruders. A few of the other guys in the room that were clothed similarly to the previous bandits stood near the entrance, probably keeping a lookout. Either that or trying to figure out what to play in the meantime. Regardless, they were alarmed now and every one of the bandits in the room procured their weapons. It was time for another beatdown.

Elisia deadpanned when her assault on the vending machines yielded nothing more than the goods she had purchased. She felt certain there had been some secret behind them but she supposed she was wrong. Damn it, she thought with a grimace, shaking her head at her mistake––she quickly shrugged, however, for she decided having the items she purchased more than made up for her being wrong. The Cosmos Delight definitely worked and tasted better than their crappy supply of Lo-Potions.
With no enemies left in sight and no word from the Paladins, the group continue to explore, their sights now set on another room. They quickly stormed another room. Alessia fell in center and Elisia just to her right––both had their weapons drawn and at the ready.
"Those guys in the back look a lot tougher," Alessia muttered, quickly checking behind her to see if Xylia and Wisteria were prepared for a fight. The larger men further in the room definitely had more muscle span than the similarly clothed grunts before them. Perhaps they were higher up on the chain of command, or maybe they just worked out more, but regardless getting into a one on one brawl with either of them would likely mean death. Their little squad would have to be sure to pick them off first unless they wanted trouble.

"Seal of Power: Open!" Alessia chanted immediately––her shield hand placed on Elisia's shoulder. The glyph she conjured quickly set about unlocking the archeress' true power; the same tactic hadn't failed them thus far. Hopefully it wouldn't prove to be a mistake. "Be careful," Alessia stated, not looking at the younger girl as she stepped into the middle of the room, completely ignoring the two bandits before her. Her eyes sharpened on the two brutes that now had an easy target. "Fight me if you dare!" she commanded, swiping her blade through the air.
Alessia moves to F5!
Elisia bristled slightly when Alessia's hand hit her shoulder, but she relaxed almost instantly. The familiar feeling of her ally's magic rushing through her system put her at ease. She could do this. They could do this. As Alessia had just reminded her, the party just needed to take caution and everything would be alright. With that in mind she took aim at the larger man nearest to her.

"Seal of Power: Open!" Alessia chanted immediately––her shield hand placed on Elisia's shoulder. The glyph she conjured quickly set about unlocking the archeress' true power; the same tactic hadn't failed them thus far. Hopefully it wouldn't prove to be a mistake. "Be careful," Alessia stated, not looking at the younger girl as she stepped into the middle of the room, completely ignoring the two bandits before her. Her eyes sharpened on the two brutes that now had an easy target. "Fight me if you dare!" she commanded, swiping her blade through the air.
Alessia moves to F5!
Elisia bristled slightly when Alessia's hand hit her shoulder, but she relaxed almost instantly. The familiar feeling of her ally's magic rushing through her system put her at ease. She could do this. They could do this. As Alessia had just reminded her, the party just needed to take caution and everything would be alright. With that in mind she took aim at the larger man nearest to her.

"Xylia, please don't move from there," Wisteria requested, stepping a little closer to the woman that was blocking the path that the thief could reach her from. She wanted to make sure she was as safe as possible before doing anything. Something her mother always tried to teach her, every time you cast a spell, you leave yourself vulnerable to attack. Enemies will try to take advantage of the immense concentration you must put forth into casting. If you mess up even once, not only could your body be destroyed by the very magic you wield, but if it wasn't it would be by the enemies that you would face.
Wisteria checked around her surroundings. She was more or less safe here. So she raised her hands and enclosed her fingers until they made a claw-shape form. Xylia paused for a moment. Wisteria wanted her to stay put. That was not gonna fly with her. Oh no, she wasn't going to stay put, who would? Not Xylia. "You can go fuck yourself with those demon-hands of yours," Xylia told Wisteria, watching with a little revulsion as the hands came up out of the ground. Xylia was into some pretty freaky shit, but that was just creepy as hell. All she wanted to do was flatten these punks with a good ham-sandwich. "And YOU can have this, courtesy of mwah!" Xylia yelled loudly in the guy's face, swinging back her arm and throwing it forward in a massive haymaker. While he was still reeling, Xylia hooked onto his shoulder and swung over his body. She thought about ripping him over her head and slamming him back into the ground.
But she didn't. Who knows what she might accidentally drag out of the ground with all those demon-hands.

Elisia grit her teeth together as the lanky grunt sliced her with his knife. This was not good. Not good at all. The beefy guy she had shot before was now closing in on her and she definitely couldn't take a hit. Well... at least not as well as...
"A little help here?" Elisia called out to the others, notching another arrow. She darted off from her position. As she went, a small red aura gathered around her hand and poured into the frame of the arrow; Elisia could feel the heat of flame mana surging through her. She took aim and the arrow split into three flaming projectiles, all of which collided in on the man. But her assault was not finished there! She loosed another arrow and dashed off once more.

Alessia's face remained as stone. Their foes chose not to turn their brutishness upon her armored body, but this did not bother her. None of their team had received any serious injuries, and already it seemed one of their foes would be going down. He just needed a little more persuasion. Silently acknowledging Elisia's request, the Magic Knight approached the thug with a slightly quickened pace.

A simple slice of her blade cut through the man's tight-looking vest. Sure, the strike would not fell the man, but it might just keep him off Elisia's tail. If anything, the puny bandit to her side would most definitely have but to turn on her. And that would be like weathering an impenetrable wall.

Wisteria stepped back as the bandit started to approach her. She wasn't nervous or afraid of him. As a mage, she would become a likely target for enemies. Her mother taught her that much, at least. Wisteria took a deep breath, settling herself before opening her book to a different page. Should she attack, or use another spell? It would be prudent to set up some way for her to defend herself. Yes, she should be careful here. Her grimoire flipped through the pages with a simple wave of her hand and began to glow a reddish hue. Below her she set the runes and took another step back to allow it to arm itself. It would take just a little bit of time, but she would be protected by it in time.
Of course the demon hands might do that work for her. That would certainly be nice. Wisteria didn't have much else in a way of a contingency plan. She glanced at the strange table with figurines sitting on it. She might be able to duck under that to get away, if she needed to. Xylia was on the other side as well. But Xylia could not be relied on. Wisteria knew this.

Xylia was not amused. The weak attempts of her enemies trying to deal some sort of damage to her were so pitiful she almost started to cry. She did groan though. Not really a pleasure groan, more of a "I'm so frustrated I could hit something" kind of groan. And she did want to hit something. That one guy in front of her would do nicely. Xylia got into position quickly enough, doing a few practice jabs at the guy. He probably had no idea what she was doing. He probably had this elaborate plan stuck in his head to go after the mage in the back after feinting going for her. Xylia didn't give a shit, she'd just chase his ass down anyway.
Xylia did another practice jab and immediately swung her other arm forward in a blindingly fast haymaker that nailed the guy right on the face. "You can make all the plans you want, but nobody has a plan after getting decked!" Xylia shouted with glee and a cackle.

"Ahhhhhh it hurts so GOOD." Xylia moaned loudly as the blade hit her, drawing blood. She grinned at the man in front of her as she heard the one behind her yelp in surprise. Looks like the hands finally got a hold of him. Xylia glanced to the side for a moment. No one could tell her she wasn't observant at least. Xylia often found herself tunneling in on her target, but that was because she loved to chase people. She also loved pain. The more pain, the better. She almost died once. It was pretty fucking awesome.
Xylia grabbed the table next to her that Wisteria was hiding under. She didn't care that the mage was trying to keep herself hidden. She just had a feeling that if she hit someone with the table, they'd just crumple over and die. Or something like that. Xylia's muscles buldged out of her arms as she breathed and ripped the foosball table off the ground. Then, using the momentum she already had, slammed the table down on the thug that hit her last with a satisfying crunch.

Wisteria hopped up suddenly, glanced at the man that was stuck to the spot by the demon hands clawing at his feet for a moment, then sped around him to try and get closer to the other two. She would feel safer with them than she would with Xylia. Speaking of which, they appeared to need a little help over there. Wisteria reached out with a hand and grabbed hold of the white chain that attached her to Alessia's soul. Alessia would feel her grabbing the chain, they were far enough away for her to notice even that.
Wisteria whispered a word, and the chain evaporated into the air. Alessia would feel a slight boost to her physical strength for a small duration. Wisteria only hoped she used the power to her full advantage, and possibly came back to help her out soon. Xylia was not the type to defend another person. Speaking of Xylia, she was in the middle of fighting someone that Wisteria could take advantage of.
Wisteria raised her hands, her tome spinning in the air as she chanted the memorized words that raised the hands of demons to claw at her enemy.

When the brutish thug charged off after Elisia yet again, Alessia knew that she would have to handle this quick. The archer had used all of her reserves and she would not be able to handle the pain her powerful adversary could dish out with a single punch. Not wasting a second, even as she felt Wisteria's power flow into her, she tailed the man.
Alessia moves to C8!
Blade in hand, the Magic Knight delivered a swifter slash up the man's torso, ducking around him expertly before following up with an even heavier stab. Her blue-green eyes stared daggers into her target's own––her lips pursed in a harsh line. "That's enough of you," she declared, pulling her sword back. She offered Elisia a quick nod before turning her eyes back to the rest of the battlefield.
Alessia uses Reversal on Martin! 10 Atk Damage! 13 Atk Damage! Alessia lands at A8!
Xylia had taken to beating the other thug with one of the foosball tables. Alessia's teeth grit together uncomfortably. Although she could not condone her violent ally's methods, she also could not deny that they were effective. To each their own, I suppose, she thought to herself, refocusing her gaze on Wisteria. The young mage had managed to trap one of their foes, and it appeared she was on her way to help deal with the scrawny man who had started to become a nuisance. Alessia smiled. "I'll be with you momentarily, Wisteria," she called, raising her shield defensively. She took a couple steps away from Elisia.
Elisia lowered her bow as the Alessia struck down the man who had been chasing after her. She silently breathed a sigh of relief. Had the Magic Knight not stepped in, surely things could have gone south fast. His death, however, left the Sharpshooter with a bit of a dilemma. She was too far from the other thug to do anything meaningful about him, and she didn't have any mana left to do anything incredibly significant.
What to do? Elisia bit her lip in frustration. She scanned the room, trying to find something––anything! Her eyes shortly fell to the machine she had taken to hiding behind. A panel on it appeared to be loose. Well there's an option... she thought, shooting a quick glance at the bandits. They probably had a decent amount of money in this thing, and after this they wouldn't be spending it any time soon.
She nodded. Her mind made up, she pulled an arrow from her quiver and jammed it in the lock. A jimmy here. She knocked the panel. Another jimmy there. One turn and... voila! The panel fell off and coins began to spill out. "Bingo," Elisia whispered, shoveling all of the coins into her bag before standing once more. She settled her eyes on the pinball machine nearby.
Well, a little detour couldn't hurt...
Elisia removes the panel on the Arcade Machine and pockets the cash!
