Aurea slowly trod around Macha and came up behind Klein, only after her form had flashed with golden energy of course. She stopped and shook her head. "My dear, Brygan. Has anyone ever told you that you're an idiot?" she cooed with a sweet voice that dripped with malice. "So easily overcome by the woman's taunts. I am not as weak of will as you'll soon find out!" With that, she stood up on her hind legs for a few moments, long enough to slash and stab at Klein with her sharp, glowing claws.

Klein scratched his head as Aurea attacked him and turned around quickly, unleashing two slashes with his blade. "You know, I was expecting that to hurt a little bit more. Just goes to show you that assumptions are dangerous!" he taunted loudly, going as far as to aim a mocking laugh at the golden demon. He turned his attention to Brygan and aimed a strike at him with such energy that there would be no way for him to see it coming. Feeling the blade slice across Brygan's hideous form, Klein crouched and bounded off the ground, flipping right over Brygan to land on his other side. With a sharp turn, he proved his blade to be even sharper, slashing away with short, quick strikes aimed at the thief lord.

With his undead minion summoned, Vincent began to focus his rage into casting spells against Brygan. He raised a hand forming darkness at the core, and fired it towards his target like an arrow. It narrowly missed Macha, striking Brygan instead. He watched in pleasure as the darkness seeped into the thief lord's skin, but whether or not it would weave its desired effect was left to be found out.

"No one's upstairs because they're all lodged in that gross mixture of muscle in fat," Macha picked fun at the thief lord while clearing the rest of her thoughts so she could focus on her attacks. She lashed out once and chained a quick critical blow, following with an upwards slash and a spinning horizontal one. "Now let's just see if he can keep up with the likes of me~"

As soon as he felt the ground shake, Klein tried to regain his balance. Once he succeeded, he lashed out at Brygan with two quick strikes, but he didn't follow up with a separate attack this time. As much as I hate to say it, this guy's pretty strong, Klein thought miserably. The swordsman raised a hand into the air and created a large pulsing green glyph that unleashed a torrent of translucent green blocks around him. He knew the power would be able to help ward off some of the damage the thief lord was dealing, but they could really use Henry right about now. He glanced over to Vincent who looked like he was about to fall victim to Aurea's attacks. Was his revenge really worth dying over?

Klein waits.

"F-fine." With nothing but those words, the necromancer became enveloped in a green whirlwind. "I suppose I've had enough satisfaction." With that being the last thing he said, another green whirlwind brought Henry out from the book, the boy looking rather confident.

"I'm sorry, Vincent. They just kinda need me a bit more at the moment," Henry said nervously, immediately starting write with his little click pen upon the parchment he carried around with him. "There's always time for long-winded introductions." Glowing words began to form around him, linking together to form a solid sphere of energy. As the boy continued to write, the same phenomenon occured around Macha as well. He stopped writing and looked at Aurea who was just sitting calmly next to him. "Oh. Hello, Miss Aurea. You're looking rather well," he engaged the demon in conversation as if it were normal, a carefree smile upon his face.

Henry waits.

Macha was ready to lash out again at the thief lord when she realized more effects were being cast upon her by her allies. She turned around not even worrying about Brygan and waved to Henry. "Oh, it's my Henry~ Thanks for the boon there, kid," she called out to him with a wink. "Don't think I forgot my darling Auza. Thank you as well," she said as she turned sharply to bow her head towards the girl. Performing a larger turn, she held her blade out and slashed at Brygan a couple of times before retracting the blade and turning it at an angle, aiming a crescent-shaped slash at the man. With that done, she raised her blade into the air. "Oh, you'll get a kick out of this one! DESTRUCTION!" In response to her verbal evokation, the blade surged with a blazing energy. With a loud shout, she brought the thing down upon the thief lord mercilessly, the blade tearing away not only at his armor and flesh, but anything that might be enhancing his power as well.

Properly fortified, yet now lacking the ability to focus, Klein lashed out madly with his blade, striking twice. He found his mind so rattled that he could barely see. "Gah, what kind of move was that?!" he shouted, switching his sword to his other hand to try and deal the finishing blow of his combo, though he wasn't sure if anything connected or not. Though impaired, Klein wasn't worried. They had to be wearing the man down. Sure he was a fat ass, but that fat couldn't absorb their blows forever.

Henry gave the gold cat a smile. She was nice when she wanted to be, but she sure didn't waste any time in trying to tear Auza down. "Sorry, Miss Aurea, but I rather like Miss Auza the way she is and not as a scratching post," the boy objected, finishing off the already lengthy paragraph he had scrawled upon his paper, words forming around Auza and consolidating to form a barrier similar to the ones that formed around himself and Macha. He took a bold step forward, pen still moving across the paper.

A burst of air blasted into Macha, but it was an invigorating one. The remnants seemed to form into small wisps that drifted over her injuries, mending them with no problems. "And that should take care of you for now, Miss Macha," he said confidently with a carefree smile.

Macha raised her blade as Brygan roared, looking away from the hideous man. His foul breath permeated her defensive stance and she coughed. As soon as it was over, she grimaced and unleashed a flurry of sharp, calculated slices with her blade. "Has anyone ever suggested mouthwash to you?" she asked the thief lord rhetorically. "I'm surprised your pet kitty cat puts up with it." Even with her mind a bit frazzled, her innate skills with the blade took over, making sure her strikes hit home, so she was pleased to see the blood leaking upon the floor, dripping down the length of her elegant blade. The cherry blossoms it released upon each blow made the air smell a bit better. A smile slowly crept onto Macha's face as she readied herself for more attacks.

"Henry's such a good little helper~" she chimed loudly so that the boy could hear her. "Don't know what we'd do without him."

He finished a sentence with a flourish causing words to appear around Klein that melded together to form another barrier. He then wrote more excitedly, looking up from the page upon completion to see blazing flames surrounding Macha, giving her great agility and strength. "You might want to try and finish him off," he advised, panting a bit even though all he had been doing was writing. It still took a toll on him, that was for sure.

Before, Macha wasn't worried about Aurea; she didn't appear to be much of a threat, however, it had turned out that the demon wasn't fighting at her full power at all. Or even close to it for that matter. Macha finished her assault and kept steady, ready to lunge in for more attacks when she had the chance.

He inspected her, seeing that at least most of her major injuries had been taken care of. "Seems I'm at a bit of a loss now," he said with a frown, fiddling around in his pocket. "Ah, but I think I might have something to rectify that." His usual carefree smile crept upon his face again. Aurea was a lot scarier than she had been before. He found it perturbing that she didn't care about Brygan's death, but she was a demon after all. What else would he have expected from her?

"He probably stole this from someone else anyway," Klein grumbled back to Aurea as he lifted the contents from the chest. It was a vial of a strange liquid that he surmised to be a potion of some sort, but this one was different from anything he had ever seen before. He held it up so the others could see. The liquid was such a brilliant, vibrant blue in color and it seemed to glow along with the entire vial with ethereal light. "What on earth....?!" he exclaimed to himself as he held it up for a bit longer before rushing over to the other chest. The others were running out of energy, so he had to get back in the fight as fast as he could, but getting what was in the chests was just as important. He might even be able to find something to speed the battle up. One can only hope, right? Let's do this!! he shouted in his mind, stopping in front of the other chest. He dug around for another key and jammed it into the lock. Opening the chest, once again he took a peek at what was inside...

Henry gasped and clutched at the bleeding bite mark Aurea had left in his leg. Her radiant fur and claws and fangs and practically everything made his eyes start to water and even burn. Everything turned white and he could only make out portions of his surroundings. Even still, he felt lightheaded. He wanted to at least tell Auza something, but he couldn't even formulate a sentence. He had been rendered completely useless, at least for a fleeting moment.

Macha had been bracing herself for the blast of force that was sure to come, but actually felt nothing. Had the demon's attack failed? She turned effortlessly on her feet and held her blade out in front of her, eyes closed. Her mind became sharp once more and felt at one with her body. With renewed power, she glissaded towards Aurea and unleashed a myriad of slashes upon the demon, precise and calculated as always, yet possessing her unique sense of grace, not to mention releasing a torrent of aromatic cherry blossoms into the air with each blow.

Klein reached into the chest and pulled out what appeared to be a rather large axe. It was kept in pristine condition. He eyed the dead thief lord and caught sight of the weapon he had been using. It was in considerably more horrid shape than the one Klein found himself holding now. "I don't think any of us here can actually use this, but...well, hey! We'll find something to do with it!" He gave the air a slight fist pump and tucked the axe away. His allies were getting pulverized by Aurea; there was no doubt they had to end it before things got carried away. "Klein's back in this, yeah yeah yeah!!" he shouted before dodging around the bed and stopping next to Aurea. Sword at the ready, he lashed out at her several times with his boosted speed.

"How about showing me some of that demonic power, eh?" Klein shot at the demon with a cocky grin. Truth be told, he wasn't in the best shape either, but he'd do anything to take the heat of the demon off of his allies, just so they could have a brief reprieve.

Shaking his head, Henry took immense joy in the fact that he could move again. He was pretty beat up, and the golden ray of energy Aurea had shot at him didn't help. Regardless, he noticed that Macha was in even worse shape than he was. He reached into his bag and pulled out a vial of liquid, handing it to the blademaster. "Here you go, Miss Macha. I know it's not the tastiest thing in the world, but we need to get you feeling better," Henry remarked with a warmhearted smile. His reserve of mana was nearly empty, and using more than what was kept for his spells put his very life at risk. We have to play it smart here; we have plenty to spare, he told himself firmly.

Macha didn't waste any time. She took hold of the vial and downed its contents quickly, throwing the empty thing against the floor while listening to it shatter. "Time for some more playing with the kitty." Her expression became calm and collected, and with great grace, she practically danced across the floor towards the cat, the movement leading effortlessly into a powerful strike, but after that very noticeable one, her blade became unseen as she continued to slice away at the creature before her. After all was said and done, she stood poised for more strikes; letting her guard down now could be fatal.

Aurea glared at the two melee fighters that were unleashing their full might upon her, though it was obvious they were tired. She said nothing and tried to stun Macha with a vicious bite, but to no avail. She was protected. Aurea remained calm and disappeared, a blast of golden force surging through the blademaster. The demon turned sharply and glared at the supporters. She dodged back and positioned herself in the same line as them, opening her mouth and firing a beam of golden energy at them. The beam dissipated quickly, and she was already in the air, two of her--the original and a copy. They descended, one striking Henry while the other struck Auza. Their forms vanished and the duo was struck again and again from different directions, flashes of gold appearing with each strike. Aurea reappeared where she had been before, still glaring intently. Not a word escaped her lips now.

Klein growled and pursued the demon, dodging around her nimble form and skidding to a halt behind her. Blade at the ready, he turned and slashed away at her backside. It was clear that she was focused on taking out Henry and Auza first, for now it seemed they were the ones closest to meeting their demise. Still, he had to try something. "Come on, 'fraidy cat!! Scared you're not strong enough to take the mighty Klein down?!" he taunted the demon, something he wasn't too comfortable with, but if it meant saving his allies, then he'd do what he had to do. If they could just last a bit longer, it would all be over...

Henry was bruised pretty badly, and it actually hurt as he walked farther away from the demon, taking a stand next to Auza. He handed over a potion to her because she looked to be in a worse condition than he was. "H-here, Miss Auza. This should get you feeling a bit better. Looks like it worked wonders on Miss Macha," he commented, still smiling despite the pain.

You should just let yourself go, Vincent's voice sounded inside his head. It sounded different than it normally did--almost assuring. You didn't forget about your magic, right? The one that brings you back? I know you've been tweaking that ability. Just don't forget it.

I know, Vincent. If it comes down to it, I know everything will be all right. That's why I'd rather worry about keeping the others alive and standing before I worry about myself, he replied calmly in his thoughts.

Macha spun on her heel and stared down the demon. Damn, this furry bitch is pretty intent on pissing me off, she cursed inside her mind, trying to keep her demeanor calm and collected. She sped off across the floor, sliding in front of Aurea while Klein got her from behind. Her eyes closed for a mere moment before opening wide as she unleashed another torrent of slashes upon the demon cat. Focus would be her greatest asset at this time. "And here I thought cats were intelligent. They don't even know who the real threats are!" she exclaimed confidently in a berating nature towards Aurea. The demon seemed almost as calm as her in battle, so she wondered if such jeers would even have an effect.

The room became dark. Stifling. The only source of light became Aurea's glow. Her head was lowered, looking at the floor. Only vague silhouettes of the bedroom furniture could be seen. Quiet. Tension. Her voice broke the silence after what seemed like a handful of eternities. "To believe I've been pressed to this point," she uttered, her voice calm, but there was obvious angry frustration present in the tone. "By light of Hell, I am the star that shines in the blazing sky." Aurea's form vanished and all became truly dark--nothing could be seen.

"The lost souls look to me for guidance, but by the way of the demon, I shall mislead. Like moths to flame, they draw close to the light they desperately desire, but with this luminance, I shall scathe all! Aureate Burst!!" A small point of golden light appeared near the ceiling of the room, but quickly grew to a small sphere before expanding so quickly that every shadow in the room was banished from existence in the great light created by the expansion. Upon filling the room, the light pooled into the ground and burst up in great columns that expanded on their own, burning anything it touched. The room returned to normal and Aurea reappeared in her original spot, smirking at her handiwork.

"D-damn," Klein cursed aloud, falling to one knee. His eyes felt like they were on fire as did his skin. He was surprised he could even see after the ethereal light show. Shaking it off, albeit far from easily, Klein stood and took a deep breath, dodging around the bed to get closer to the demon, who seemed to be close to death herself. Coming to a halt, he launched a short frenzy of slashes upon her as he had before, hoping to hit her lithe form. He was aware of her agility, and actually connecting attacks was of the utmost importance at this time.

Henry's body had hit the wooden floor, unable to sustain the sheer brilliance displayed by Aurea. However, after everything had returned to normal, the boy's parchment rose into the air along with his writing instrument which started writing something on the floating parchment of its own will. A glow surrounded Henry's body, and he arose, taking hold of his pen and parchment. "That was a pleasant break. I must say I'm glad to be back though." The boy gave a smile at Auza. "As promised. I don't like to sit out for long." He took a few steps closer to the demon, pen raised in the air dramatically. "I'm sorry, Miss Aurea, but I do believe it is over." With that, he made two huge slash marks with his pen on the parchment. Two small blades of translucent energy were sent flying towards Aurea as a result, intent to harm her.

"I agree with Henry on this one," Macha said. The move had definitely had an impact on the blademaster, but many times before had she been at the brink of death. It got to the point where she was unfazed by it. With a single fluid movement, she was upon Aurea. Slash after slash rained upon the demon before Macha leaped into the air and turned slightly with such skill, her entire body spinning about, sword outstretched to the point where it bore down on Aurea. She landed with as much grace as she exhibited when she attacked. "We could all use a good rest after this." Though she was used to such ways of battle, the others looked rather worse for wear. They did such a great job, she thought, letting a smile creep onto her face. Guess I'm a little proud of these heroes.

Aurea wasn't smirking anymore. Klein and Macha backed away from the demon as the glow around her became too much to look at or even be near. "To...to think...the mighty star of Hell...defeated," Aurea spoke aloud in absolute anguish. Her body trembled within the golden light and she shrieked. "No...NOOOOOOO! What kind of punishment is this?!?" The room grew rather dim and the temperature dropped dramatically. The whole manor trembled as if an earthquake were trying to topple the construct.

"What on earth is happening?!" Klein exclaimed, though any further statements were drowned out by Aurea's screaming. The light dissipated quickly and revealed a golden statue of Aurea, life-size at first, but it began to shrink until it was about the size of a nifty trinket. The light in the room returned to normal, and it warmed up rather quick. The trembling halted and all became calm once more.

Macha rubbed her eyes and approached the small Aurea statue, picking it up and holding it up so she could get a good look at it. A shiver went down her spine. "Weird," she remarked calmly and faced the others. "I feel like I have all the money in the world all of a sudden." She spared a glance at the fallen thief lord's corpse and placed a hand to her mouth, walking away from it. "Good riddance, I'd say."

Listening intently, Macha let the short woman take the Aurea statue away from her, feeling the effects of it vanish. It left her feeling somewhat empty. "Ugh, thanks for taking it; felt weird holding it," she said with a shifty look in her eyes, clearly discontented with the feeling it gave her. Macha banished her sword in a cloud of pink cherry blossoms and placed her hand on her hip. "I agree wholeheartedly with you on that one. Best get out of here."

Through the doorway, three familiar faces entered the room. It was Danzel, Claire, and Renee, no longer golden statues stuck on the patio. "So you guys really did it? I'll be damned," Danzel voiced smoothly, a lighthearted smile upon his handsome face.

"I can't believe it either," Renee stated, clearly shocked. She folded her arms across her chest, shifting her weight onto one leg. "I'm not taking it for granted though. We're not statues anymore thanks to them. And we don't have to worry about that demonic bitch...or him, for that matter." She lifted a finger and pointed at Brygan's corpse, a disgusted look upon her face.

Danzel avoided gazing at the dead Brygan and instead approached Auza and Macha. "So what're you guys going to do now?"

Klein sidled up, his sword sheathed. He slapped a hand on Danzel's shoulder. "We were about to get outta here," Klein voiced loudly. His clothes and armor were in bad shape. His hair was a bit of a mess and there was sweat dripping from his brow.

"All the demons seemed to vanish from the manor. I'm sure there are a few hiding out around here somewhere, but eh," Danzel explained with a shrug.

Henry had been speaking idly with Claire for a few moments before walking up to Auza. "Vincent couldn't be happier with the way things turned out," he said cheerily. "But both me and him are at a loss as to what to do next, and I suggested that we just tag along with you guys some more. Vincent's not very thrilled about that, but I don't particularly care about what he thinks on this matter at the moment." He let out a slight giggle, hearing some groans of protest in his mind. "If it's all right with you, of course."

"I'd say it's fine. Henry's pretty epic; I don't think we could have done this without him!" Klein cheered the little guy on.

"The question is where to go from here," Macha interrupted firmly.

"Well, me and Auza are new to the continent. Both of us came from Dalmaschior, so we're heading to the settlement that represents the continent."

"Hmm, that's still quite a long way away. You have to pass over the bridge to get to the other side of the continent where those settlements are. "Naik Dataran," Henry provided the answer and laughed at the sudden look of remembrance upon Macha's face.

"Seems like you're heading to Tengah next, the capital city. It'll be hard to miss if you're on the way to the bridge. May I suggest we stop there--make it our next short-term destination?" The blademaster focused on Auza this time, since it was her that seemed to be calling the shots, something she didn't mind. It saved her a lot of trouble. Not to mention that she was only really in it for her new-found apprentice.

Danzel turned his back on Auza and the rest and waved at them dismissively as he made his way to the door. "You have done us a great justice; it'd only be right for us to do the same for you, eh?" He let out a lighthearted laugh and touched both Claire and Renee on the shoulder, getting a rather discontented growl from the latter. "You can count on us. The greedy shall be punished, and I'm about so fed up with demons that I'd probably kill any if I saw them anyway." He watched as Claire and Renee headed out of the room and made their way down the stairs to the front door. Danzel finally turned back to face them. "Maybe we'll see each other again sometime?" He gave them a dashing wink. "Take care of yourselves, guys." With that, he departed.

Macha took a step forward, a goofy grin on her face. She placed a hand on Auza's shoulder. "Turned that trio of trouble into demon-killing do-gooders. Nice job," she commented to the woman. "Not like they had a plan as to what to do after this, I'm sure."

"How can you be so sure, Miss Macha?" Henry inquired, curious. He had pocketed his pen and rolled up his parchment, tucking it away within his coat.

"Oh, the Tempest has much, much experience. It's best not to question her, Henry dearest." She gave him an endearing wink before letting Auza go, her hand returning to her side. "Shall we be on our way then?"

"Yeah, I've had about enough of this place. Let's go, let's go!!" Klein shouted excitedly.
