Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption Empty Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption

Post by Masquerade Thu Oct 29, 2009 10:24 pm

The Land of Selva. A continent of which is covered mostly in humid jungle, it has remained undiscovered by the better known continents of Dalmaschior and Elendia to the east. Thus, true civilization has yet to be established. The people of Selva, the Dragao, who have long claws on their hands, and membranous wings on their backs, inhabit this land and worship nature. They look down upon those who have lost touch with the environment and have gone so far as to exile those who do not believe in the mighty force of nature. Technology has yet come into existence, but then again, technology has yet to appear in abundance anywhere in the known world. They tend to rely on the jungle to supply them with what they need.

The capital of Selva is Visterre, which lies in the very center of Coracao, the true name of the jungle. This is where the Elder lives who governs over all of Selva, sort of like a king. To the southwest of Visterre is a lake called Lago Fonte that to the immediate north of the Blindagem Montanhas, a mountain range that curves precariously about the coast. The towns of Cadencia and Montanha Cidade lie close to the lake, while the town of Seguro and Paisagem’s Crag can be found to the south of the mountains. To the northwest is an open field with many craters that hold myriad meteorites. This is Campo de Estralas Caidas, or the Field of Fallen Stars. The town of Paraisa is located here along with the Altar of Meteoro. Legend has it that the meteorites were sent down from the heavens by Meteoro, God of Space in order to split the continents of Selva and Punito for an unknown reason. To the east of the field and to the north east of Visterre is Cai Vestuaria which is an enormous waterfall that kind of resembles the flowing garment of a goddess. Cachoeira’s Peak lies at the very top where the water miraculously continues to flow from seemingly nowhere. Cachoeira is the Goddess of Waterfalls and those who worship her dwell in the town of Fundacao at the base of the falls. There are other towns that dot the land, such as Maldicao, Fronteira, Segredo, and Portos Perdidos, but the most important one in this story is Visterre.

In Visterre, there are numerous guilds that travel about performing various deeds, whether they are beneficent or uncouth. One guild in particular has become quite famous. It is known as Luz Cascata. This is the guild in which many want to join and it also happens to be the guild that our heroes have joined. They have been trained together since they joined in order to foster teamwork between them. Never have they been separated since. Now that their training is over, it is time for their first mission.

In the Antigo Ruins to the southeast, there have been sightings of suspicious activities. The petitioner proposes that a gang of thieves have been raiding the ruins in search of treasure that does not belong to them. In fact, the ancient Grimoire de Origens has been stolen from its sacred keep that lies deep within the ruins. In that book there is forbidden knowledge on how to utilize the power of the gods in order to summon an abomination from a different dimension that fosters evil. The guildmaster hopes that it is only thieves, but the Elder believes that a plot is coming into existence, one in which havoc is unleashed upon Selva.

Hello fellow members of the Eternal Dream Forum. I am Masquerade, your administrator, and humbly bring you a revolutionary role play. This role play focuses on battling, but it can be spiced up with dialogue and descriptions. If you are wondering what that means, then I shall tell you that it is similar to Final Fantasy Tactics or another Strategy-based RPG video game. Unlike other role plays, you must be adept at both writing and mathematics in order calculate damage values and the such. I intended for this role play to be for advanced role players, but it is open to all, however, it is imperative that you be able to post at least once everyday. First, I will be accepting Character Profiles. They are extensive and require much thought. Without further ado, here they are:

Name: The name of your character, Lv.1 (all characters begin at level 1)

Jobs: This can be whatever you want. Here are some examples of some jobs: Warrior, Fighter, Black Mage, White Mage, Arcane Mage, Knight, Dragoon, Archer, Pirate, Dancer, Bard, Barbarian, Time Mage, Green Mage, Thief, Blue Mage, Summoner, Gambler, Trickster, Magician, Ninja, Samurai, Psychic Iniate, Equipment Kineticist, Fusilier, Beastmaster, and the list could go on. =3

Weapons: You pick your own weapons depending on what your job is. When you do, I will add them to the Inventory. The weapon must be weak though. Examples: A Pirate could start off with a Fragile Rapier, a Gambler could start off with Ripped Cards, a Fusilier could start off with Antique Pistol, or a White Mage could start off with a Cracked Staff.

Armor: It is the same sense as weapons. Examples: A Knight could start off with Rusty Mail, a Ninja could start off with Tattered Garments, a Beastmaster could start off with a Dirty Shawl, or a Black Mage could start off with Holey Robes.

Accessory: This one is a little different, but only slightly. Once again, you choose your own accessory and I will add it to the Inventory. You can name it anything you like and can be almost anything, but try to restrain yourself as the others have. The difference with this item is that you choose which stat boost you want. Here are the options: HP+5, MP+5, Atk+1, Def+1, Int+1, Spr+1. You can either boost your dominant stat or a stat that seems to be lacking…

A-Ability: This stands for Action Ability and is a summary of the definition of all your special attacks. For example: Time Mages can cast Slow, Stop, Haste, etc. and their overall A-Ability is called Time Magicks. A Dragoon can use Jump, Ice Breath, Fire Breath, Thunder Breath, Howling Gale, etc. and his A-Ability would be Draconic Artes (or something; feel free to be creative X3). A Barbarian can use Rage, Boulder Smash, Reckless Rush, etc. and his A-Ability would be called Immense Anger or something of the sort. I hope that clarifies it.

+ This is your first special attack and is dependent on your job and A-Ability once again. Just put what the NAME is, what the attack DOES, how much DAMAGE the attack deals, and the RANGE of the attack. Damage: This can be based on ATK or INT depending on your job. If you’re a Mage, then it would be INT. If you’re a Warrior, then ATK would be the best option. After that, you have to determine the percentage of that stat. Keep it between 100% and 120% for now. Example: Here could be the first attack for a Fighter-- Powered Strike: Punches the enemy with slightly increased power. 110% Atk Dmg. Range: Adjacent Cell. 9 MP. (I will determine MP cost based on a formula I have created).

+ Same thing as above. It is more or less another beginning technique.

A-Ability: This is your second A-Ability. Right now, it is set to “Item” as default. However, when you reach a certain level, you will be offered with a Job Promotion and could possibly have another A-Ability similar to the one above.

R-Ability: This stands for Reaction Ability. This is an ability that activates in response to a certain action. You can NOT start out with one of these. The only way you can get one is by expending 3 Skill Points which are rewarded at the end of battle. Example: Counter: When attacked, deals 50% of damage taken back at the enemy as long as it is within range. Immortal Body: When character is KOed, revives automatically in 3 turns with 20% HP. Pickpocket: When attacked, steals an item from the attacking enemy.

S-Ability: This stands for Support Ability which can be activated at the whim of the user unless the user decides to place a limitation on the ability. Support Abilities can only be used ONCE per battle unless the ability is always active (see Intangible). Examples: Spirit Tap: Restores 10% of Max MP for 5 turns after MP reaches an unusable amount. Intangible: Immune to Physical attacks, but Magickal attacks deal double damage. Dragon Power: Raises ATK by 25% for 3 turns.

D-Ability: This stands for Deathblow Ability. This is an exceptionally powerful ability, mainly because it has the power to pierce the enemy’s DEF and SPR. For this one, you MUST be creative. Just give your D-Ability a name and an element (Fire, Water, Ice, Thunder, Wind, Earth, Holy, Dark, or Neutral). This is the formula to calculate damage: Base ATK (INT if a spellcaster) x 2 x 2 (if enemy is weak against the element) = Total DMG. This ability also has the power to instantly kill an enemy with less than 50% HP (only if they are NOT a Boss creature). This ability can only be used ONCE per battle.

Stats: These will be determined by me depending on what job you choose, so don’t worry about it. Here are the stats that your characters will have when I give them to you:
- HP: Hit Points. This is the measure of how much damage a character can endure before becoming incapacitated. If HP equals 0, then the character gains the KO status and can no longer participate in battle unless revived using an A-Ability or an item. If all characters are KOed, then the mission ends in failure.
- MP: Mana Points. This is the measure of the capacity of mana that a character possesses. All A-Abilities cost a certain amount of MP and when MP equals 0, they cannot be used.
- ATK: Attack. This is the measure of how much physical damage a character can deal. This stat is increased by equipping certain weapons and/or accessories.
- DEF: Defense. This is a measure of how much a character can resist physical attacks. This stat is increased by equipping certain armor and/or accessories.
- INT: Intelligence. This is a measure of a character’s knowledge of the workings of mana. In essence, it is how strong a character’s magic is. This stat can be increased by equipping certain weapons and/or accessories.
- SPR: Spirit. This is a measure of how much magical damage or INT-based damage a character can resist. This stat is increased by equipping certain weapons and/or accessories.
- Movement: This is a measure of how far a character can move in a turn. Every character has a base movement of 2 cells, but that can be increased depending on which job the character chooses.

Skill Points: These are also a vital part of this game. Skill Points are earned after completing Requests and are used to purchase abilities. A-Abilities cost 1 SP, S-Abilities cost 2 SP, and R-Abilities cost 3 SP. Also, Skill Points can be used to upgrade A-Abilities that you have already learned by increasing their damage (10% intervals), changing the range (1 cell intervals), or adding a special effect (1 effect intervals). For each alteration that you make to the ability, it will cost 1 Skill Point.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the profile of my character so you can use it as an example:

Valincar, Lv. 1

Job: Phantom
Weapon: Decaying Tome
Armor: Shredded Robes
Accessory: Lost Pendant (+1 INT)
A-Ability: Otherworldly Artes:

+Burst: Fires a small burst of energy at an enemy. 100% Int Dmg. Range: Adjacent cell. 5 MP. Can be linked to a normal attack, but the MP cost is doubled.

+Syphon: Causes damage by denaturing the enemy’s mana cycle. 30% Int Dmg. Range: 3 cells. Piercing. Absorbs damage as MP.

A-Ability: Item.
R-Ability: None.
S-Ability: Intangible- Physical attacks always miss, but magical and INT-based attacks deal double damage.
D-Ability: Impending Rapture (Dark)

Stats:

HP: 10
MP: 25
Atk: 1 (+1 from Decaying Tome)
Def: 0 (+0 from Shredded Robes)
Int: 3 (+1 from Decaying Tome)(+1 from Lost Pendant)
Spr: 2 (+1 from Shredded Robes)
Move: 2 cells. (+2 from Phantom job)

Skill Points: 0
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am only accepting 7 profiles so PM those to me as soon as possible. Do NOT post in this thread until I have approved of your profile and have told you that you can. This will avoid any confusion that arises. So, if you are interested, then send me a Private Message and I will respond as soon as I can. Thank you. I expect for this role play to be very fun. =3

Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption Empty Re: Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption

Post by Masquerade Sat Oct 31, 2009 12:30 pm

So, it seems as if we're ready. Let us now begin....The Corruption...

The humid jungle expanded before the group that had been commanded to investigate the ancient Antigo Ruins. The Elder's worry had manifested into fear, for he knew what the Grimoire de Origens could do in the wrong hands. He had to make sure that the book was still in its safe place. Thus, the leader turned to Luz Cascata and bestowed upon them a special Request of top priority. Short on members at the current moment, the leader of Luz Cascata decided to send a fairly new group to investigate the ruins. The trail consisted of moist soil, dark and spongy, that sunk in slightly with each step. The vines creeping up the tropical trees seemed to strangle them with utmost malevolence and the sun merely turned a blind eye to the act of violence by hiding behind a puffy, white cumulus that drifted lazily through the blazing, blue sky. Before exhaustion could set in, a massive building of sandstone came into view, towering over the travelers. Without hesitation and desperate for shade, they enter this building...the Antigo Ruins...

Request 00: Beginning of a Conspiracy

Location -- Antigo Ruins: Antechamber

Objectives: Defeat all enemies!

[ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] ]?] A
[ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] B
]T] [ ] [ ] [ ] ]B] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] C
[ ] [ ] [ ] ]L] [ ] ]M] [ ] [ ] [ ] D
[ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] E
[ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] F
[ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] G
[ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] H
[ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] I
[ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] J
-1---2---3---4---5---6---7---8---9

This is the battlefield. It will change depending on the area or circumstances of the request. On it, you will see representations:

Enemies are represented by a red letter. These are the things you want to target with your attacks in most cases. There may be special cases where it would be wiser to target something else, but you have to figure that out for yourself.

Neutral Characters are represented by a green letter or number. These characters are standby characters who may help or harm the party. Interacting with them may unlock a special event or help advance the story. More often than not, they are there to help you out.

Treasure is represented by a yellow letter, either a 'B' or a 'T'. A 'B' means that the treasure is in a bag that is easily opened. The letter 'T' means that the treasure is locked within a treasure chest and you must use a Chest Key item to unlock them. Enemies and Neutral Characters may take treasure if they please. Killing them (enemies) or perhaps asking them (neutral characters) then you can obtain the treasure.

The spaces on the battlefield are known as cells and the location of a character is represented by a coordinate. For example, the enemy 'S' is located at B5 (row B, column 5.) Thus, when you determine where you are initially going to place your character, represent it as a coordinate.

In battle, there are 3 phases: Player Phase, Neutral Phase, and Enemy Phase. It is obvious that during Player Phase, player characters take their actions, and during Neutral Phase, neutral characters take their actions, and the same applies to Enemy Phase.

SO, here are the enemies and neutral characters for this battle:

Bauvre (Quick Claw)
HP: 15
MP: 10
Atk: 5
Def: 1
Int: 2
Spr: 0

Lamont (Quick Claw)
HP: 15
MP: 10
Atk: 5
Def: 1
Int: 2
Spr: 0

Marc (Quick Claw)
HP: 15
MP: 10
Atk: 5
Def: 1
Int: 2
Spr: 0

????? (Insomniac)
HP: 25
MP: 10
Atk: 4
Def: 2
Int: 4
Spr: 2

There you have it. These are all the characters that are taking part in this battle...almost all of them anyways. Now is the time to place your character on the battlefield. You can place him/her anywhere in rows H-J.

The correct format would be:

[Name] starts at [Cell].

[Rosetta Evangeline] starts at [H-7]

She had never liked jungles.

Wiping a trail of sweat from her face with a white handkerchief, Rosetta took her time to examine the interior of the ruins she had just stepped into. The journey was quite harsh, with how humid the jungle was. She glanced over at her group, silently checking how they were fairing.

The young Fencer was distracted, however, when her ears caught the sounds of footsteps. Snapping her head in the direction of the sound, her eyes narrowed at the sight of others besides herself and the ones in her group.

Tucking away her handkerchief, Rosetta straightened. She had a feeling these others weren't just coming to give them a warm welcome.

[Nyur] starts at [H-5]

He didn't prefer this area, but could put up with it.

Walking into the ruins, he had run out of breath. He didn't understand why anyone would even want to come here, much less why one would send a person here. He felt like he was walking to his death. Not from the enemies he saw across the room, no, he could easily beat them. But instead, from all the heat in this area. He was done catching his breath, and walked forward. The time mage had seen the enemies when the group walked in. He saw one of the group members look at the enemies and then walk forward, claiming her spot to begin.

He walked just a few steps to the left of the girl, and put down his staff. He began leaning on it. He knew this would be a good fight.

Post by Durn Sat Oct 31, 2009 1:21 pm

[Czeslaw Caldwell] starts at [I-6]

Czeslaw was born and raised in the northern parts of the globe, he was used to extremely cold weather, compared to the extremely warm, humid climate of the tropical jungles. He had always wanted to venture somewhere warmer, so the climate issues didn't effect him greatly.

As he entered through the ancient doors of the Antigo Ruins, he lethargically glanced around the large room, quickly sighting a few enemies that were stationed on the other side of the room. Czeslaw then scratched his blond, shaggy hair, pondering the reason behind the 'warm welcome'. He then stationed himself slightly behind both Nyur and Rosetta, as if cautioning himself before beginning the battle. Czeslaw unsheathed his weapon, preparing for a deadly, bloodstained battle.

Post by Shadow Sat Oct 31, 2009 5:04 pm

Shadow starts at Cell H3

Shadow entered the old temple like if it was his home, with the rusty Slasher already on his right hand. Some bricks were out of the walls, making light sneak out so the room had a mystic yet eerie feel. Creepers were squeezing bricks and crawling up to the stone-bricked ceiling, to later hang down and stay still like if they were ghosts floating, or hanged victims.
Either way, Shadow didn't care. He looked at all the enemies and smirked, his Slasher shining against the sun's rays that went through one of the various crumbled windows.

[Zero] starts at [H-4]

Zero followed the others quietly. There was nothig to say about this place, or rather, Zero liked to keep most of her thoughts to herself. After all, half of the things she say usually get her into even more trouble then fighting does. So Zero stayed silent while surveying the area.

"Ancient ruins in a jungle, REAL original..." Zero thought, "I just hope I can get something out of this..."

Zero followed the rest of the group into a building. A few loose bricks, moss covered walls, and little sunlight, everything you would find in a cliche chamber. She decided not to comment when she noticed everyone drawing their weapons. Zero glanced forward and unsheathed the dagger she had stolen a few years before joining the Luz Cascata, a slight grin on her face. As she expected, this mission wouldn't have just gone by without a fight.

Post by Knight Mare Sun Nov 01, 2009 2:17 pm

Than starts at I-4.

Than and his lance were ready. They were going through ancient ruins. It smelled of the dead and flowers. He kept his nose covered as they came by skeletons. He was one of a few Blood Warriors. But in his case with all the armor he was considered a Knight. Most Called him a Knight Mare. It was his nickname as he was a horror when he smelled blood in battle.

When he smelled blood his blood go pumping and his eyes went blood shot. Most people called him a berserker but he was an ancient breed of humans that lusted blood. This team was the only ones that dealt with him. His lance was blood stained so when he saw an enemy he just had to smell his lance. Once that happened most every stayed out of his way.

He was right behind Zero. Zero was very quiet like him. Kept thought to themselves and just followed. Suddenly everyone took out their weapons. Than didn't bring his lance to his nose. He knew better. Everyone liked to fight here but when back up was needed he had his lance ready. In the mean time he would just sit back for a while...

[Ambellina Ventus Amare] Starts at [H-6]

Ambellina disliked forests alot. They were so messy, wet and full of discusting things, this made Ambellina feel very uneasy. She looked around, seeing her allies around her as she gripped her cracked staff tightly. "Hauuu..." She whined as she looked at the scary creatures that looked at her with intentions of killing. Ambellina looked around, inhaled slowly, and then exhaled. She had been training as a White mage for a while and finally, she got the hang of it. Ambellina was there to help her allies fight against the enemies that would ever come across them by healing her allies and supporting them. "Ill...Try!" She said with confidence as she gripped her staff, ready to help with a bright smile yet with evil glaring eyes.

Player Phase 1!

Okay. It is the first player phase. Here's what you can do:

1) Move, then Act.
2) Act, then Move.
3) Move, then Wait.
4) Act, then Wait.
5) Wait.

Move Actions: Moving is just moving your character from cell to another represented by:

[Name] moves to [Cell].

A character can only move a number of cells equal to or less than their total move rating. Moving diagonally counts as moving 2 cells and a character MAY move through other characters.

Act Actions: There are several Act Actions. Here they are:

1. Attack- Use a basic attack against an enemy. All basic attacks do damage equal to 100% ATK and have a range of adjacent cell. This is how attacking is represented:

[Name] attacks [Target Name OR Cell]. [100% Atk] Dmg.

2. A-Ability- Use an A-Ability move against an enemy. These have various damage ratings and ranges depending on which skill is used. However, they do consume MP most of the time. This is how it is represented:

[Name] uses [Skill] on [Target Name or Cell]. [The percentage of ATK or INT] Dmg.

MP: [Current MP (after using skill)]/[Max MP]

3. Pick up a Bag or Treasure- Pretty much self-explanatory. You must be in a cell adjacent to the Bag or Treasure Chest to pick it up or open it. This is represented by:

[Name] picks up Bag! OR [Name] opens Treasure Chest!

**Remember: All Treasure Chests are locked so you MUST use a Chest Key on them, so really it would be:

[Name] uses Chest Key! [Name] opens Treasure Chest!

4. Using Items- A character can use items if need be. All items have a range of adjacent cell so you must be in a cell next the thing you want to use an item on unless the target is yourself. This is represented by:

[Name] uses [Item] on [Target Name or Cell].

[Number of that Item after use] [Item] left!

5. Interaction- Sometimes, there will be special actions you can take. For example, there might be a switch to pull or something on a wall you wish to examine. That takes up your Act Action for the turn. It is represented by:

[Name] [Special Action] [Target Name or Cell].

For example, there is a switch on the wall.

Zero pulls the Switch.

Or there is a creepy, hovering candle nearby (lolz Shadow):

Zero blows out the Candle.

Wait Action: If there is nothing better to do, just wait. You attack and don't feel like moving? Wait. You move but don't feel like attacking? Wait. Don't feel like doing anything? Wait. It is represented simply by:

[Name] waits.

Okay, I think that takes care of everything. Well, go ahead and show me what you've got! That explanation should have clarified everything for you~! If not, then PM me. Remember, this first battle is more like a Tutorial so don't be afraid about messing up. ^ ^

Czeslaw glanced around the large room, he noticed that all of his allies had also taken their battles stances and were prepared to engage the opposing beings that were stationed on the opposite side of the Antechamber. "Well, might as well end this as quickly as possible." Czeslaw thought to himself as he slowly paced towards the Quick Claw known as Marc.

"You," Czeslaw pointed his kris at the seemingly far away foe known as Marc, "stay in your current position, bound by the shackles of frost!" His kris began to glow a deep blue color, as if it was casting a spell. The Northern Priest then stabbed his kris into the dirt-covered floor of the Antechamber as small, blisteringly cold waves of energy shot out of the blade. The bursts of energy swam through the ground, and rose up around the Quick Claw, encircling him in a prison of ice.

[Rosetta] waits.

Unsheathing her Chipped Rapier, Rosetta eyed their opponents with narrowed eyes. From what she could tell, they would be able to attack her before she could attack them. Personally, she didn't want to be the first to be wounded if she were to go one on one with any of them. It seemed best to wait and see what they could do before moving on.

And so, she waited.

>>[Nyur] moves to [F-5]

Nyur looked at his allies before moving. Two of them had gone and attacked different enemies, the ones on the sides. He glanced at the one in the middle, it didn't seem fazed by their attempts. He would change this. Grabbing his cane he walked a few steps. "I've got Bauvre, guys," Nyur said, stopping. He looked at Bauvre then, "Now, let's finish this quickly." He said, holding up his cane.

Nyur's staff rose into the air, and the area around him glowed. His robes fluttered a bit and then it looked like nothing had happened. But in a few seconds he was right in front of Bauvre, his staff had an eerie glow to it as he hit Bauvre with it. Before he had a time to react, though, Nyur had been at his original position before his attack initiated. He looked at Bauvre and mouthed the words "Bring it on."

Zero moves to cell E-5

Zero brushed her long silver hair away from her eyes and studied the enemies. To be truthful, they looked a bit intimidating but not enough to scare Zero. But she noticed that her teammates were staying back and only attacking the Quick Claws from afar. Zero decided again not to make a comment since she didn’t want the team to be arguing now that they were in a fight. Staying silent, Zero ran to a spot close to all three enemies but not close enough to get attacked. With only the sound of her footsteps being heard and her silver hair fluttering as she ran.

Zero uses Stealth

The rogue stood still after coming to a stop and closed her eyes. She was quickly enveloped in a dark purple shade for a brief moment. When the shade faded, Zero became almost completely transparent. With only her outlines and a little bit of color showing. The technique she just used was more like a spell allowing her to elude most foes, unless they were much stronger than her but in this case, they’re not. The technique was a very useful one as it had saved Zero’s life countless times, even allowing her to steal if she needed to. Zero didn’t know how she could do this since she was never good with magic. But she doesn’t really care. It didn’t seem to have any kind of drawbacks except for the fact that she can only stay transparent for a certain amount of time. There was nothing else Zero could do at the moment, so she waited to see what the Quick Claws would do.

The Dreaded Turn Skip

I'm usually lenient about how long I wait before the next post. I can understand that some people can't post everyday, and that's okay. But there is a point in time where we just have to move on. Usually, it only happens when the majority of players have posted and 2 or 3 days have gone by without response from the others. The turns of the players who have not posted are skipped. There are no consequences except that you lost a chance to attack or whatever.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bauvre takes 4 Dmg!

HP: 11/15

The figure in the long, black trenchcoat cringed as he felt the time mage's attack connect. However, with surprising resilience, he stood up and held his ground.

Lamont takes 3 Dmg!

HP: 12/15

Marc takes 1 Dmg!

HP: 14/15

Marc is Frozen [Afflicted is immobilized and takes 2x more damage than normal. Cured by Fire.]!

A startled look appeared upon Marc's face and then was frozen in place by Czeslaw's attack.

Zero's Stealth has 3 turns.

Enemy Phase.

Bauvre moves to D5.

Bauvre was planning on attacking the female that had just been near him, but he was surprised when she suddenly disappeared. Reacting quickly, he chose his next target to be the time mage. He pointed one clawed gauntlet at the target and amazingly fired it at Nyur. The claw lodged itself in the mage's torso, but Bauvre quickly retracted it, blood running down the spikes.

Bauvre uses Extension Claw on Nyur! 5 Dmg! (ATK)

MP: 5/10

Lamont moves to F4.

Working in conjunction with his partner, Lamont also wished to damage the brave time mage. It was only luck that he was able to capture another enemy in the attack he executed. He dashed to his spot and spun around quickly, his clawed gauntlets almost nonexistent in a blur, shredding his targets.

Lamont uses Rotation Claw on Nyur and Shadow! 4 Dmg! (ATK)

MP: 5/10

Marc is Frozen!

Marc is Frozen for 2 more turns.

Player Phase 2!

Taking Damage

When your character is attacked, he or she takes damage. The values I post are the base damage values. Your job is to either subtract your DEF (if the attack is ATK-based) or your SPR (if the attack is INT-based) from the base damage value given. I will put ATK or INT at the end of the attack so you know. THEN, you must show that your HP has been reduced. The whole process is represented by:

[Name] takes [Base Damage Value - DEF or SPR = Total Dmg].

HP: [Current HP after taking damage]/[Max HP]

The minimum amount of damage you can take is 1. An attack will NEVER do 0 damage.

Shadow takes 2 Damage (4 - 2 = 2).
HP: 23/25
Shadow moves to G3, then G3, and finally to F2.
Shadow attacks Lamont (Range 2)! 5 Damage!
Lamont takes 4 damage (5 - 1 = 4).
HP: 8/15

With a swift movement, Shadow threw his Slasher, which spun like a shining boomerang and cut through the Quick Claw's chest. The wound from the sudden strike appeared to be fatal, as blood quickly spilled in the ground and the Slasher itself, but it was not. The knife-like weapon turned upwards and forwards to Shadow, who caught it with his raised left hand.
He glanced quickly at the blood and smiled coldly...

Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption Empty Re: Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption

Post by Plattack Tue Nov 03, 2009 2:49 pm

Nyur watched as one of his teammates jumped in front of him and then seemed to disappear. While he was looking at this, he didn't see Bauvre moving in on him. When he finally noticed, a claw had been in his chest. He staggered forward as the claw was pulled out. "I made a bad mistake, didn't I?" Nyur whispered.

[Nyur] takes [5-1=4 Dmg]
HP: 6/10

Realizing this was now a bad mistake, Nyur was ready to turn back. But the pain was to much for him, and he was locked in place. When he looked up he saw Lamont walking to his left. Nyur's hopes went down even farther when he took his claw and swiped at himself and a teammate.

[Nyur] takes [4-1= 3 Dmg]
HP: 3/10

Realizing now that his situation was in critical, he decided now was the time to act. He took a deep breath and then walked to his right.

[Nyur] moves to [F-7]

As he passed Czeslaw, he whispered into his ear "I'm gonna go get the runner over there, you take over for me. Then he took a step or two more and stopped, looking at the blood that just spilled out onto the floor while he walked.

Realizing he could very well die with another blow, he took out a potion and used it.

[Nyur] used a [potion] on [Nyur]

Potion healed 7 health.

[Than] Moves to [I-1] then up to [H-1] ((4 steps...))

Than started to smell blood and was getting away. He saw something sparkle so he decided to head over to it. For all he knew it would help him and his team out. In one way or another. He continued going along. Zero was using stealth and he was the only one that could see Zero. Well, only when he went on a frenzy. He couldn't see Zero this very second but once blood hit his nose it was all over.

The sparkle thing seemed to be treasure. so he was sure it would help financially o with any battle items. Than took a rest. He wouldn't move for a little bit. The armor was weighing him down. He would wait a little later...

>Act, then Move

>>>Frost Artes

>>>>[Czeslaw] uses [Arctic Blast] on [Marc]. [100% INT] Dmg.

MP: [19 MP]/[30 MP]

Czeslaw speculated what was happening as his target was frozen in place by his attack. He then noticed Nyur limp by him, whispering an attack plan in his ear. "Alright then." He whispered back as he turned himself back towards the frozen foe and positioned his right hand next to the right side of his waist. "Might as well put a dent in his defenses while he's weak." Czeslaw's hand began to glow a deep blue color, he then lunged his hand forward, which caused a frozen shard of energy to eject from his hand and hurdle towards Marc, piercing his cold, blistering chest with the frozen shard. As the shard melted, it turned a dark red color, staining the floor with the color of blood.

>[Czeslaw] moves to [I-6].

"I might as well retreat for now. I have done my share of work." Czeslaw commented as he returned to his original position. As he resumed his original stance, he kept an eye on Lamont, if he was to make a move towards Nyur while he was retreating towards the mysterious man, that Quick Claw would find himself in a huge mess of trouble.

Zero moves to cell D-7

Zero grinned seeing that the Quick Claws completely ignored her presence. But it was to be expected after all, the technique never failed Zero even once. All three enemies have been attacked, but the one on the right seemed to be injured the least. Although, it was frozen for the moment so that gave Zero a great chance to strike. She ran past the others and to the side of the immobilized Quick Claw, drawing her dagger out and looked for a spot to strike.

Zero used Hemorrhage on Marc. No Dmg.

MP: 10/15

Zero smirked and glared at the back of the Quick Claw’s neck. It would be a perfect spot for a strike, but she had to weaken it first. And she had to do it quickly, for it wouldn’t be long until Zero became visible again. And since Zero knew her body was a tad too fragile to take many hits, she had to make the most out of the little time she had. Nevertheless, Zero dashed toward Marc, her dagger raised to the side of her head. With a quick slicing motion, Zero cut open the skin on the back of Marc’s neck. Blood came flowing down the opening and Zero grinned, her next attack would prove to be near fatal to the weakened Quick Claw.

Post by Plattack Thu Nov 05, 2009 2:34 pm

OOC: Goddamn it. >.>
My ideas suck, amirite?

BIC:

[4-1= 3 Dmg.]
HP: 7/10

Nyur felt confidence in his plan after he used his potion, but this confidence quickly wore out as Lamont came over and slashed at him again. "You know, you're really getting on my nerves. I could beat you if I wanted, so stop trying." Nyur got ready to use his D-ability on Lamont, and he heard the Insomniac yell something out, Nyur paid no heed to this, then got bonked on the head by something. It threw him to the ground, it hurt a lot, but he got back up.

[5-1= 4 Dmg.]
HP: 3/10

When he got back up his vision was all messed up, and he could barely keep his balance. Nonetheless, he would try the attack again. He stuck his staff in the ground, and he activated his D-ability.

[Nyur] used [Time obliteration] on [Rosetta].
[3 x 2= 6 Dmg (Piercing)]

A huge beam of light came from the spot where the staff hit the ground. Different areas around him started to slow down, some started to speed up, some reversed. The area where he was standing sped up very rapidly, aging him rather quickly. When he reached the appearance of a 90 year old, he pulled his staff from the ground, and all the time in the area restored to normal. But the sudden change in times caused an ear shattering explosion. Not very big, but still very painful. When he looked up, he saw that he hadn't hit Lamont, but instead he hit Rosetta. Nyur paid little attention to this, and would take his ridicule from it later.

[Nyur] moves to [E-8]

As Nyur was right next to the insomniac, he was expecting another blow. Regardless of this, he spoke anyway. "I'm not here to hurt you, please, don't attack."

As Czeslaw witnessed the madness that was going on around him, he finally came to a conclusion as to what he was going to do. "Zero, finish off Marc for me!" He shouted in the sly girl's general direction. He then slowly moved from the backside of Ambellina to the open space behind Rosetta, where he could get a clear view of Lamont.

>A-Ability

>>Frost Artes

>>>[Czeslaw] uses [Frozen Prison] on [Lamont]. [20% INT] DMG.

MP: [13 MP]/[30 MP]

Czeslaw watched as Nyur was being beaten from left to right, if he was to take another blow, he would be out cold. He then quickly shifted his vision towards the Quick Claw known as Lamont, this being could easily pick the weakened Nyur off in a single blow. Czeslaw unsheathed his kris, which slowly gained a deep blue hugh, "You, stay in your current position, bound by the shackles of frost!" He then hastily shoved his weapon into the damp floor of the ruins, the freezing waves of energy that shot out of the grounded blade swam through the ground, avoiding Rosetta, and moving straight to Lamont. The waves of energy rose up around Lamont, and encased him in a prison of ice.
