Ryla nodded with a bigger smile, happy to be back in the fight. Standing up and dropping her staff she put her hands to her mouth.

"You can do it! Yes you can! Beatem'! Thrashem'! Crashem'! TRASHEM'!"

She jumped up and down for a few seconds before saying her cheer once more. She then grabbed her staff, and prepared to join the others, seeing as the battle was almost all the way over.

Samuel grinned as he felt the power of the cheer increase his strength. He raised his greatsword. "Now, I know you're shy and modest and sincere, but there's no reason to turn down seconds," he said softly to the soldier before bringing the blade down hard, slicing through the man's head and all the way down his body, the two halves falling to the ground.

Vern scowled when the Top-hat monster beat the last soldier. He didn't even look stressed about it. It was just inhumane.
"Are you finished now?" he asked unnecessarily. "Since we took care of this group, it should be a while before we are attacked again, right? So can we use this time to let Ryla rest up?"

Samuel put away his greatsword which was dripping with blood and gore. "Most certainly I am, kind sir," Samuel replied, tipping his hat to Vern. "I do not see why we could not rest except for the fact that they may be sending reinforcements after us soon." Samuel grimaced. "We would not wish to get caught up in another such battle now, am I right?" His smile returned. Not much could keep him down. Even though the situation was not that great and all of them were within death's grasp, he couldn't help but dwell upon the fact that hope still existed somewhere.

"Let me rest? I rested for the entire battle almost."

The young water mage really wished she knew a healing spell, it might help cure them of some of their wounds from the battle. But she knew not, and the only thing she had were some basic herbs. Still it would be better than nothing.

"I have a few healing herbs if you would like them. I don't have much use for them right now."

Vern stretched his limbs. He had a few more miles in him. Maybe more if he was running on dislike. He glanced at Samuel and his pristine top-hat to fill up on that particular emotion.

Edge grinned, stretching. That had actually been a pretty good exercise, even if it just made even more tired. Well, maybe not Ryla but no doubt the continuous running they were going to keep doing would drain her stamina like crazy.

“Alright guys!” he shouted, catching everyone's attention. “Let's hurry up and get out of here! I can already see the cavalry coming!” And indeed, there was a small cloud of dust in the distance. Horses were great for transportation but they sure were loud. Waving at his friends, he began running into the forest. “Hurry up guys!”

Do you know of the name of the forest of which they entered? People called it the Forbidden Forest. Real original, I know, but there's a reason why it's forbidden. A lot of things live in there you know. Not to mention the place is mostly filled with dead or rotting trees. And don't get me started on the smell of that place. It's a known fact that people who go in there usually never come out. The ones who do come out end up dying right at the exit.

But, it's not like they could help it, you know? What other choice did they have? Getting captured after escaping would be stupid as hell, you know. So, in they went. The cavalry ended up lagging behind because the horses refused to go inside. I guess the group got lucky.

Well, as lucky as one could get. After all, they did meet a bunch of giant spiders five minutes into the forest. There were some small ones too but who could concentrate on teeny tiny ones when there were ones the size of a horse coming after you?

"This should be good enough," Edge stated, wiping his forehead of sweat. The forest they had entered was dark and gloomy and there were so many dead branches on the floor that they had some problems navigating through it all. Then again, all this would probably slow down their pursuers considerably. It was a good thing, Edge supposed.

Suddenly, the hair's on the back of his neck and he shuddered, spinning around. There was something watching them. Squinting into the trees, Edge's eyes windened as he caught sight of what was lying in wait for them.

"Holy crap, those things are HUGE!" he exclaimed, staring at the giant spiders in horror. They were at least twice his size!

"Spiders, Joy," Vern grumbled under his breath. He didn't like spiders. Their creepy eyes, hairy bodies, dripping fangs and long legs pale

. Then there was that little incident involving a rotten tree, a steep hill, a dark cave, a very large spider's nest and a six year old Vern. In fact that incident made him the man he was today: strong, independent, a tad crazy with a severe dislike of spiders.

Samuel was feeling even more refreshed from the break, though he would have been fine without it. He chuckled at Edge's exclamation and gazed at the giant spiders. "My word, those are quite the large arachnids, are they not?" he said in good spirits. He removed his greatsword from his back with one hand and thrust it into the ground. Of course, then he tipped his hat to the monsters. "A good day for an extermination, if I do say so myself."

Edge shuddered, a bit apprehensive about getting any closer to the giant spiders. He didn't know they could grow so big. Especially with the state of the world at the moment. It was startling, to say the least. Swallowing hard, the thief cautiously made his way over to the side. Maybe he could hide behind the trees.

Edge stopped and blinked. He was surprised to find a bush filled with berries in front of him. That was strange. He was sure the only living things in this place were those monsters. Even the trees were dead. Kneeling down, he examined them. They looked safe. Shrugging to himself, Edge decided to pick some. It couldn't hurt to bring some with them.

Samuel moves to B5.

Samuel just smiled as he strolled along the path merrily between the trees. His thief friend was even picking berries. He didn't realize that this was going to be a pleasant outing instead of a harsh battle. He took in a deep breath of the air. It didn't smell that great, but he didn't care. His greatsword remained out, but he was in no hurry to smash spiders with it when there was so much forest to enjoy.

Samuel waits.

Pocketing the berries, Edge blinked in surprise as the bush suddenly died. Well, that was a little creepy. Feeling a little bad, the thief glanced through the trees. It seemed as if the spiders hadn't noticed them yet. That, or they were just waiting. Edge shuddered. He didn't want to imagine what sort of thoughts were running through their brains. It probably involved him and his friends being eaten. Silently, Edge stepped over to the rotten trees.

[Edge] moves to [D-9].

"Ugh," he grimaced as bugs scattered away from the dead trees. He was a bit apprehensive but pulled out his daggers and destroyed the tree anyway. He backed up a step when insects immediately began to flee as their home was destroyed. "I can't wait to get out of here."

[Edge] attacks [Rotten Tree] on [E-9]. 2 hits.

Samuel moves to C3.

Curiosity suddenly overwhelmed Samuel. Why hadn't the creatures attacked yet? Perhaps they were trying to be polite just like he was. Well, that would be a nice change of pace. He continued to stroll amongst the rotten trees towards a bag laying on the ground. Whatever was in it, Samuel would find out soon. With great eagerness, he lifted his greatsword and practically shattered the rotten tree in front of the bag to pieces.

Vern stepped towards the bush away from Samuel. He sighed as he peered over the rotten looking bush at the spiders, who stared back hungrily. He sighed and plucked the little berries from the bush as he waited.

Upon seeing one of the humans move toward the bag hidden amongst the trees, the spiders were suddenly at high alert. The biggest ones clicked their pincers in an almost angry motion. No, they could not allow this. They could not be allowed to take it. . . .

Weaver moves to E-2. Weaver attacks Tree [D-2].
Tree [D-2] takes 6 damage. Tree [D-2] is destroyed.

With the path now clear thanks to its fellow spider, another came rushing through, blocking the human's path. Viciously, it clamped down on the human, piercing skin and brought the human up. Suddenly, it slammed the human down, intent on stopping the human in his tracks.

Candis moves to C-2. Candis uses Vicious Bite on Samuel.
Samuel takes 10 ATK DMG, then 12 ATK DMG. Samuel evades Immobilize.

Spindle attacks Tree [G-5].
Tree [G-5] takes 6 damage. Tree [G-5] is destroyed.
Spindle moves to [E-4].

A small, tiny spider clicked its pincers, scurrying through the grass. Seeing that it's larger companion had failed in it attempt, the smaller one decided to help. They could not allow this human to take it. . . .

Minuscule moves to [D-2]. Minuscule uses Steady, Steady on Samuel.
Samuel evades Fright.

Ryla realised she had done nothing in this fight so far, and chose to keep a safe distance until it was obvious. Following Edge closely, she stopped nearby him. Watching the spiders in the distance, she gripped her staff tighter. This might not turn out so well...

Samuel was startled by the sudden onslaught of the creatures, but he merely stood up and brushed himself off. "Well, well. I apologize. I have been most rude. I forgot to say 'please.'" At that point, he hefted his greatsword and suddenly started dealing heavy blows to the creature in front of him. As he neared the end of his combo, he delivered an upward slash sending the creature airborne before crashing back into the ground. "Please, may I have the bag?" he said with a smile. "No? Maybe later then," he said and casually walked away.

What was this strange sensation? The small spider didn't understand. It swayed, trying to think. Upon seeing its fellow companions attack the humans, it could not suppress the sudden rage it felt. How dare they! Unable to stop itself, it lashed out at the nearby giant spider, biting down. It quickly retreated, feeling oddly satisfied.

"What's this?" Edge furrowed his eyebrows, frowning as he pulled out some sort of round object. It didn't seem like something edible. In fact, it looked kind of familiar. Like something they used to make things explode- "A grenade?!" Th thief choked. "What the hell is a grenade doing here?!" He stared at the object, a disgruntled look on his face. After a moment, he sighed. "Whatever, I'll just take it with me." Stuffing it away, the thief turned and tried to look through the trees. Seemed like the spiders had finally made their move. He frowned. He had better help out the others. Going through all these trees wasn't going to help.

[Edge] moves to [C-7].

"Oh, hey Ryla," Edge said to the Water Mage as he passed her. "You should hide the trees back there. I know you're not much of a fighter so just do your best to support us, okay?" He sent her a flippant smile before continuing over to where he believed the spiders were.

Ryla moved further into the trees, stopping in the perfect spot to watch the fight. Through the branches she could see most of the details, but the others would need her help. Putting her hands to her mouth, mouth spoke a little chant.

Samuel moves to A7.

"Pardon me for just a second, please," Samuel spoke kindly to the attacking spider and tipped his hat to it as he strolled back a way. He took out a potion and downed it quickly. He put the cork back in and saved the vial instead of tossing it on the ground. "Ah, much better," he sighed, feeling refreshed. "Now I can be more jolly while conversing with the local folk," he explained and gestured to the spiders.
