The two remaining, unfrozen enemies fell to the combined efforts of him and his allies. Now, nothing was left to deal except for the statues, though the frozen ones seemed to be thawing out. He fazed through one and clapped his hands together in front of him, chanting something. A dark cloud of energy formed and he lashed out one hand suddenly causing the black mass to hurtle through the air and strike one of the frozen assailants.

Sonia had quickly moved over to a better spot and quickly shot off five orbs of light at the last remaining foe. Scather followed suit, firing off a beam of energy as always, but wouldn't have mattered. The guy was dead and they could move on. At least... the others could without problem. What Annon had said to Sonia caused her to stop short and gaze over to him.

Was she really only making things worse? Was the persona she put on for such a short time really only going to cause trouble? If Annon said it was... then it was probably true. As odd as he was, he knew what he was talking about. So, looking away, Sonia nodded ever so slightly, not wanting to say anything more. She would need time to rethink her actions and eventually say sorry...

All around the party, the Death Claws looked like quite a mess. Covered in shattered ice. Bleeding profusely. And one still remained encased in stone. Was this the result of their power? Before any could answer the question in their minds, the sound of applause echoed throughout the still meadow, no wind blowing as it had before. The wildflowers seemed to shake in place now instead of dancing whimsically in the breeze.

"Vous avez fait un travail remarquable pour mettre fin a mes serviteurs. Merci, merci. C'etait un...merveilleux spectacle, as they say," the sound of a female voice permeated the air along with more applause. There she stood. Amongst the dead. She was gorgeous, her beauty astonishing. She had long, blonde hair that stood out in the darkness of the night. Her eyes were emerald green, dazzling in the starlight, albeit her gaze was rather cold. She wore a long dark cloak much like the Death Claws. In each space between her fingers, she held a throwing knife shaped like an icicle and colored the same way: light blue in hue with tinges of white. Her skin was creamy white and flawless, purely stunning. She looked at the party and said nothing more.

Valincar hovered forward. "You! What on earth did you just say!" he shouted, pointing a finger accusingly at the woman. He tried to sound serious. He really had not understood a word she had said except for the last part which was spoken in a weird accent. Even as old as he was, he had never heard such a language in his life.

"Ah, my mistake," she replied. "I was still speaking in the code of my guild, you see." She started pacing around the area, examining the dead bodies. "My name is Irene, if you will, and I was saying that you put an awfully horrible end to my minions." After checking every one of her apparent defeated servants, she turned her back to them. "Ah, yes. Thank you again, but I must take my leave." She started to walk away.

As the sounds of groaning, dying rogues slowly subsided, a lone woman emerged from... Czeslaw couldn't tell... His vision was still far too inconsistent for hardly anything to be of a reliable clarity. During the fight his eyesight was awkwardly accurate, but that was most likely due to the adrenaline of battle or something along those lines. His senses became weary once more, his vision became blurred, and his eyelids were heavy. Although the wind seemed to had faded away, he stumbled in place for a moment or two, attempting to regain his balance.

I don't think I've seen her before... What's her name? I think she said it started with an "I"... Lethargically blinking his heavy eyes, the woman appeared to slowly gain distance from Czeslaw with each blink. Was she moving? It sure didn't look like it in the eyes of Czeslaw.

Ah... Irene, yes. That was it. His gaze remained solemn and unchanging, hair remaining still and lifeless. His garments didn't move in the slightest. He was perfectly still - now that the wind disappeared. I think she's leaving now... She's getting farther away from me... Slightly.

Annon strode forward to stand beside Valincar and smiled brightly, though, to anyone else, it might've looked a little vacant. The trickster took his hat and bowed low for a moment and straightened with a curious grin. He knew this woman, he knew it. But from where again? When he tried to remember, he got flashes of a battle, blood . . . lots of it, old things. He had a feeling those images had nothing to do with this woman, causing him to frown for a moment.

Something did come down the line though. "Ms. Caustier . . . n'est-ce pas? La guilde, où cela vient-il? Je ne me souviens pas . . ." The words spilled easily from his mouth, though his brows furrowed. The words weren't his. They couldn't be. "Je ne me souviens de rien." He put a hand over his mouth, like that would stop him and pull back the strange language from the air. Maybe it would, he didn't know.

Blood began to trickle down Annon's cheek. Just a small amount. There appeared to be a small cut just below his left eye. The woman had stopped in her tracks, still as the wind. If one scrutinized her right hand, one would see that one of the spaces in-between her fingers was missing a throwing knife. Behind the party, one of the throwing knives was protruding from the trunk of one of Coracao's trees.

"How the hell do you know it?" she asked aloud, a bit quietly at first. "I said how the HELL do you know it?!" She turned on the party and stomped closer to them, hand held high with her throwing knives appearing all the more deadly in the moonlight along with the flames of raging mixing with the green of her eyes. Her face was tense--a portrait of rage. This...this Luz Cascata court jester. How had he figured out her secret code? The more she thought about it, the angrier it made her.

Valincar quickly drew his sword and hovered to the spot between the intimidating woman and Annon. His arms weren't shaky, but if he had a heart, it would be beating like crazy. "Didn't you say you had to go or something? Who cares what he knows or does not know. That's our concern and none of yours," he spoke boldly, though it was obvious the woman wasn't going to back down that easily. It almost seemed that waving a sword in her face didn't even faze her, and that worried Valincar a bit.

Unawares of the blood beginning to stain his collar, Annon tried to clamp his mouth shut behind his hand. It didn't work. He mumbled things, although in Alidaire's common tongue, so much of it just didn't make any sense or was even audible. " . . . don't remember . . . sword . . . soul . . . my . . . 's gone to . . ." Finally he clenched his jaw and squeezed his eyes shut, becoming quiet. When his mouth and vocal chords were no longer working against his will, he responded to the woman called Irene.

Annon crossed his arms, brow still knitted together. "Sometimes an elephant lives too long. Because this banana's elephant doesn't recall a damn thing." Irene could probably see him through his ghostly ally, but the trickster moved beside him again. Maybe if he stood in front of the others, if she attacked again, he would be the one taking the hits. Hopefully she didn't though.

Irene lowered her weapons and brushed off her robes even though they were as flawless as her skin. It seemed as though the anger in her gaze had vanished altogether as well. "Apparently, I was questioning a nutjob." She glared at the dead guy and the chick with the bow, shrugging her shoulders at them. "If there's something I can respect, it's guild matters. I don't know how he understands and can use my guild's code, but I guess it's not much of a threat because it seems as though the fool doesn't really know how to explain the stuff."

The mysterious woman turned her back to the group once more and began to pace away down the dirt path, but she stopped just one more time. "You two. Valincar Morte and Serene Lily. I'd go about choosing your enemies a bit better." With that, she said nothing more, but if one scrutinized just enough, they could see that the empty space between her fingers had been filled with the throwing knife she had attack Annon with just moments before.

As she disappeared due to the distance she had traveled, the wind began to stir once more, the flowers no longer shaking in fright, but dancing their joyous waltz, their aroma bathing the party with delight.

Valincar patted Annon on the shoulder and gently dabbed at the fellow's wound with some soft cloth from his bag. "She cut you pretty good, friend. Can one of you heal him? It looks like the blood isn't going to stop. I don't know what she did to him, but this isn't a normal cut." He examined the small wound and found a weird, light bluish mucus around the edges. The woman's knife must've been coated in it, and it also must be the reason for the continuous bleeding. He continued to wipe at it, trying to get the mucus off while waiting for one of his allies to heed his request.

"Allow me..."

Sonia's voice barely above a murmur, she slowly trotted over to where Annon was, her head down to the ground the entire time. In a matter of seconds she merely raised her arm, a strange light covering the odd mana and stopping the blood. But it didn't stop with just the bleeding, she too healed the near invisible wound, still not looking up at him.

"Was the least I can do..."

Annon blinked in surprise as Valincar dabbed away at the cut. He couldn't say he had expected such a gesture from anyone, let alone the ghost. So when Sonia cast her healing power over him, he smiled at them both. "Nothing so fine as a . . ." He paused a moment, seemingly unable to find the right word. "As a . . ."

The trickster frowned. There didn't seem to be any right words. So he shook his head and hugged them both, patting Sonia on the head. "Thankyou. Are we ready to journey forth on our great adventure of pineapples and pancakes?" He smiled again, slightly depressive mood having disappeared with the small wound.

Valincar didn't have time to manifest before Annon hugged him, so it was like the trickster was hugging air. The nightshade laughed. "We are friends and allies. It would be wrong of us to merely do nothing." He looked up into the night sky before turning his attention to the path ahead. "We should get going. If we continue to travel overnight, we'll be in Cadencia by tomorrow, and we can just take the day to rest."

With a bit of good news in mind, the party set forth, forgetting about camping for the night in order to reach the city of Cadencia even faster. However, as they walked along, the atmosphere became stifling. For some reason, the party came to a stop at a fork. The obvious choice was to continue to the south, but the east path was almost....crying out for them to take it. It was then that there was a flash of light coming from the ground. An enormous glyph had been carved into the area and was now creating a barrier that would not let them pass.

"So, finally you have come," another female voice stated, calm and calculating. The light of the glyph revealed a figure with long black hair and worried red eyes. Her white shirt was quite revealing, and her navy skirt was rather short. On her back, a long, elegant black mantle could be found.

"You are all coming with me." She paused. "And I'm afraid you have no choice in the matter."

"Why?"

Who does this woman think she is, ordering the group like that. Zero, standing beside Valincar twirling her dagger in her hand, questioned if this woman was crazy. First she uses some sort of glyph to block off their path, then she just appears and tells them to follow her. Does she think she's god or something? But it didn't matter, for she'll regret crossing the group on aggressive terms.

Czeslaw starts at J4.

The previous woman, after having what appeared to be a malicious encounter with Annon, had been replaced with a different woman. Czeslaw wasn't sure when this had occurred, but things were different. Have we been moving for a while?... For a minute, I believe... And the woman was gone... So here's a different woman... He shut his heavy eyes for a moment before reopening them, examining the woman blocking their path. I can't see her expression... Is she an ally?... I don't think so...

"Lily..." Czeslaw mumbled, eyes still fixated upon the blurry figure in the distance. "... I don't think she wants to negotiate... Not at all..." He continued, voice solemn and rather dreary, yet still nearly as emotionless as earlier. Surely, Czeslaw couldn't see the woman's expression, nor make out her words completely, yet her tone sounded rather hostile... Yes, she must have been hostile.

That was Lily talking... Right?... Yes, it was. He hesitated as he drew his kris, I must be going insane.

Sonia starts at J5!

Sonia followed the others quietly, her head constantly towards the ground. Annon had made her smile, but it didn't make her feel any better than before. And though being able to think on her actions wasn't helping either. However, when the woman approached, Sonia looked up.

"Rethink your actions... please..."

Shadow starts at I7

Shadow stayed silent, and quickly unsheathed his slashers as he let another sigh. Why their path to whatever objective at hand always had curve to unprecedented encounters and obstacles was beyond the Ombre Skillblade, but nevertheless, he wasn't in a position to complain about the gargantuan mechanism bounded to everyone--fate. Whoever this was, she was going down.

The woman patiently awaited for the group to draw their weapons in what seemed to be a reluctant manner. Were they not used to a lot of fighting? Their words were also something she took into consideration. She closed her eyes and placed a solitary finger upon her lips, as if pleading for silence. Once the silence of the night was evident, she opened her eyes once more, an unbelievable sadness showing in them. Were they...watering? Was she going to cry? No tears could be seen as she began to speak.

"Valiant Luz Cascata, there are things that mere words cannot express. Words are tools created by man for telling lies and causing distress. They are things of war and betrayal. They are weapons to spread chaos, and to hurt people everyday. The only pure method of communication is that without speech." Her explanation held the same emotion as what her eyes portrayed, but she clenched a fist and anger blazed within her eyes, replacing the anguish. "The outcome of this battle has already been decided," she spoke with a somewhat commanding tone as she had before, however, her words were rather ominous. "I know that I am not one to be trusted, and you shouldn't! Take my word for it and come at me with all you have! There is meaning....behind all of this. Feel it in battle!" she concluded and took a battle stance of her own, legs spread apart and arms positioned as if she were going to perform some martial arts or something.

Valincar held his blade in front of him sternly. There was something about this woman that was rather...different. She wanted to be an enemy, so he was going to treat her like one. It was true; there was no more use for words. Besides, whatever this woman was trying to accomplish, she seemed more than determined to do what she set out to do. Valincar shook his head, but remained silent. He lowered himself to the ground and held a hand into the air before slamming his palm into the ground.

Valincar chanted into the night sky. The earth began to rumble, and the ghost quickly hovered into the air and backed away. What appeared to be a small explosion in front of him sent dirt and rock scattering across the area. When the dust that filled the air cleared, a hole was evident, and from that hole arose what looked like a valiant knight, completely composed of stone, armor somewhat distinguishable, and weapon and shield even more so. It stood in front of Valincar, awaiting orders from the one who summoned it.

Zero, as usual, began with a mental chant and summoned a gust of wind blowing behind her, granting her an ease of movement. The Windwalker had a feeling that this fight would last longer than she expected it to, in truth, Zero was hoping the fight would go on anyway. It was certainly a much more entertaining way to kill time than traveling, especially in the dark.

"Engulf thy blade with righteous justice, Sheath of Penance." Czeslaw whispered inarticulately, his voice dwindling through audible and inaudible states. Upon completing his chant, the priest held a small ball of light out in front of his torso. The orb proceeded to float out of his palm and hover toward Lily. The orb gradually decreased in size until it appeared as mere and meek as a firefly, twirling around Lily's bow lethargically.

The radiant orb burst into myriad sparkles and flashes of light, consuming Lily's bow in a sudden rush of energy. A light, golden hue coursed throughout the bow's string and wooden sections, power flowing into Lily's body through the grip she had on her bow.
