As the Frozen Prison failed to disable the Puppet, Czeslaw attempted to heal Rosetta. He failed, miserably. The healing waves wouldn't even form; he had been drained of his mana.

As he attempted to recover from this loss, Czeslaw attempted to execute a successful Frozen Prison. Once again, nothing happened. After this second failure, Czeslaw was convinced, he couldn't do anything.

Lily sighed as she watched Czes' attempts to heal Rosetta or attack the Puppet. She walked up to him and tapped his shoulder, nodding once. "Why don't you rest a bit, Czes? You deserve it."

Czes had frozen Marionette, which had granted them a quicker victory. Forcing him to do any more than that would be wrong. He deserved to rest, and everyone in the party should realize that. Lily knew she had been a big help as well. She had contributed the most in gaining the Phantom's, Valincar, favor. On top of that, her attacks had done an enormous amount of damage to their enemies. Lily was confident that the party had already accepted her.

Now, it was time to continue the battle, to end it. Lily walked over to the puppet, stringing an arrow and letting it fly.

Seeing the puppet moving to strike Rosetta again, Zero ran after it. She stopped beside the puppet, waiting for it to turn and notice her.

Zero attacks Puppet. 100% ATK Dmg.

When it did turn, Zero instanty jabbed the dagger into the wound caused by both Hemorrhage and Corrosion.

She was going unsteady. Unable to keep the grimace of pain that crossed her face, Rosetta raised her weapon once more. Hopefully, it would end after this. She wouldn't be able to last another hit.

Running after the Puppet again, Zero ignored the attack. To her, Rosetta being defeated was a small setback, nothing more.

Zero attacks Puppet. 100% ATK Dmg.

Zero stabbed the Puppet again immediatly upon catching it. She wanted to end this quickly, but the Puppt seemed to be fairly, persistant.

"Rosetta!" Czeslaw called out to the felled girl, he wasn't able to save her. He was just able to watch her execution, helplessly. The Northern Priest slowly paced towards the lifeless corpse of Rosetta; her neck had been punctured; a river of blood had flown out of her body, leaving an eerie, bright red pool on the ground.

>[Czeslaw] uses [Life Crystal] on [Rosetta].

0 Life Crystals left!

Czeslaw reached into his pocket, pulling out a small, bright yellow stone. He knelt down next to Rosetta and placed the Life Crystal over her heart. The stone then began to glow, slowly melting into her body. Her eyes opened; she had regained consciousness, along with her life.

While the party rejoiced in their victory, Marioneta arose from her position on the ground. "This is far from over, you know? The book will be ours, regardless of how strong you think you are. Our leader's plans will be realized." With amazing speed, she dashed and collected her puppet, and then made a sharp turn grabbing Agite by the collar and dragging him along out of the entrance. After such a difficult battle, they ended up escaping. At least the current tribulation was over.

Valincar fazed into existence in the antechamber and Shadow and Than joined soon after. "Well, I suppose you couldn't be thieves," he addressed Czeslaw and Lily, holding the book above his head. "Such kindness...I have not experienced it since I was alive. I have spent my entire afterlife protecting this book from murderous thieves. Too bad no rumors of an amazingly powerful phantom haunting the ruins has not reached the ears of those from Visterre. I know the Elder knows I'm here." He sighed. "Which reminds me--you people are guild members, right? I ask because I wish to join you in your endeavors. I must discover what those people wanted with the book. I am sure the Elder can shine some light upon the matter. That is okay, right? For me to join?"

The stagnant and musty air of the ruins seemed to amplify the silence. Daylight was fading outside, for the myriad columns of sun that managed to penetrate the ruins were beginning to dwindle.

Zero watched the Puppetmaster run off dragging the one named "Agite" with her. She let out a slight whistle of amusement, and turned back to see Than, Shadow, and Valincar returning. She sighed and nodded, it was good to have another member, as long as he didn't drag the group down.
"Alright then..." Zero said, "Now let's go...before the sun is down and we lose our way..."

Lily smiled at the Phantom, Valincar. He seemed to be very pleased with them. Not to mention he wanted to join the group. Lily eagerly nodded her consent to the idea, "I say yes! Czes does too, right?" Lily gave Czes a look.

Then, something clicked in Lily's brain. She remembered what she had been doing when she first came to the ruins. With a smile, she said, "It was pure coincidence that I met all of you here. But in the process, I stopped what I was doing before. If you all don't mind, I would like to finish what I was doing before. I swear it won't take long!" Lily announced, promising she would return shortly after her task. Already Lily had started backing up towards the exit, slightly hesitant because she didn't know how they might react to her "must accomplish" mission.

Czeslaw glanced at Valincar, and then at Lily. "It's fine with me, welcome to the group, Valincar." He politely welcomed Valincar.

The Northern Priest glanced around the antechamber of the ruins, golden-orange rays of sun were shimmering through the cracks in the wall; the sun was setting. It wouldn't be much longer until night would crawl upon the group.

"Go ahead, Lily, just be back before nightfall."

Lily grinned at Czes, saluting him, "Yessir!" She said enthusiastically, then bolted out of the room.

Lily eventually found her way back into the room just before the room with the treasure in it. She searched for the entrance to the other room frantically, trying to remember where it was. It had been a small tunnel that she had just barely managed to squeeze through. Now she would have to do it two more times, once to get in, once to get back out.

What Lily didn't expect when she got through the tunnel, was the sight of dirty rats scampering around the room. Lily growled at them. She wasn't afraid of rats, like a lot of girls were, she just disliked them.

Nonetheless, she readied her bow, just in case.

Lily was right to ready her bow, for three rats in particular seemed to gather around the chest she was after. Strangely, they didn't show any signs of backing down. They were ready for a fight.

Lily hoisted her bow up into the air, taking one of her arrows and pulling back the string. She then began to put an enormous surge of energy through the bow and into the arrow. Lily looked up from her bow, a malicious grin on her face. "Sorry Whiskers, but you'll be the first to go." She said, with no hint of apologetic tone in her voice.

"Cupid, the Greek god who helped a man slay Achilles, guide my arrow like you did for him! Lightning crash down, Arrowhead Striker!" Lily released the arrow from her bow, lightning taking control over it and zooming towards the rat in the middle.

Lily took a few steps back. Knowing rats, they would be able to move across the battleground swiftly, so she wanted to stay unharmed for as long as possible.

Lily cried out in pain as the rat chomped down on her. This was beginning to become a pain. She glared down at the rat that had attacked her. And, just like before, an arrow mysteriously appeared, lodged into the rat's body. The rat fell limp and stopped moving.
