Shekal moves to G-7

The beast attacked the girl. He only recognized it because of the screech. He grimaced and then slammed his snowball into the monster as hard as he could in the back of its head. With a grunt he felt the monster wasn't all gushy and squishy but it was in fact somewhat tough and scaly. Shivering he realized he was fresh out of snow balls and looked beside him to find a fresh new supply.

Sunny growled, glaring down at the annoying creature next to her. She noticed that there was a man on the other side of the creature, attacking it. So she did have allies. Sunny quickly used her vines to push herself up in order to see farther into the distance. She could see more people now, one of whom was being flanked by similar creatures. Sunny decided she would help, so she thrust out one of her vines, impaling one of the creatures in the back, catching it by surprise.

Shekal attacks 5!

It was the killing blow. He knew it. He was already panting, or what ever it was doing when it was this beat up. He nearly screamed when he saw a giant vine fly up. Was it a new enemy? No, it couldn't have been. That girl was there..Wasn't she? If she wasn't human then it would be interesting enough to see. When the thing fell to its knees he didn't gasp, run or scream but was more or less in a trance. A plant..woman? Yet it was surviving in the winter. He snapped out of it and looked around in the dark, noticing more enemies around the alley.

Shekal waits.

Thanatos attacks 1! 5 Dmg! (ATK)

"Why won't you just die?!" Thanatos yelled and slammed his fist into the thing's head once again. They had quite the bit of stamina for weaklings. Then again, they would have been downed in an instant if he had been prepared with his swords. At least their numbers were dwindling; that was enough to keep him going.

Thanatos waits.

Verity uses Trigger Command: Grab Snowball!

Another orb of snow found its way into Verity's possession. It was very much like the previous one, nothing majorly different. Raising the orb, she focused, closing one eye and aiming. Of course it was obvious that her alive targets were out of range. Moving closer, she tried to get perfect aim.

Sunny saw that there was only one creature left, so she lashed out with her vines and struck it down. Her vines began to rest soon after, they seemed to sense that the battle was closing.

The last jack fell, the vine impaling him fatally. As the four surveyed what they did, the fallen forms of the annoying creatures, soft whisperings drifted across the field.

"They who took destiny in their hands," a voice like flowers said.
"They that chase the darkness from the lands," a voice like honey said.
"They that face the others without fear," a voice like wind said.
"They that suffer the weight we can't bear," a voice like ice said.
The voices swept into a chorusing crescendo and a sweet fragranced wind swirled around them, flower petals, snowflakes and leaves brushing caressingly on their skin.
"They who bring the rays of light,
they who live to keep it bright,
they who mean to set things right,
they who are a glorious sight.."

As the chorus ending, the voices echoes as if in a cavernous room and the wind died. For an instant, all was still. Then a pair of hands reached over Thanatos' shoulders and a small pair of lips lightly pecked him on the cheek. Giggles burst out as four girls, each one appearing to be in their early teens, leapt out of thin air. Dressed in short kimono-like garments with sleeves that trailed to the ground, the pranced within the group. One dressed in sky patterns, another pale green with red petals, yet another with a wintery print and the last, the one that kissed Thanatos, garbed in brownish green with leaves.
They pranced away, beckoning at the group, patches of flowers, grass, moss, and ice marking where they touched. Teasing giggles and soft voices drifted back to the group, inviting them come.

"Come with us, we'll show you the way."
"Accompany us, we won't led you astray."
"Follow us, and do what we say."
"Be with us, come join this fray."

Thanatos jumped as the girls appeared so quickly, one even going as far as to kiss him on the cheek. Who in the world were they? Today was turning out to be one odd thing after another. They didn't seem...threatening, but what were they talking about? They were girls. Why not just ask?

"Ladies, a couple of questions here," he said casually. "For one, what's with all the rhyming? And two, what is this 'fray' that you're talking about? What is it you want us to join exactly? For trying to recruit somebody for something, you're doing a pretty lousy job on providing the information." A dissatisfied look crept upon his face and was set in stone. The day already sucked. He just wanted some answers was all.

Sunny's roots that came from her feet retracted, entering her body. Her feet turned back to a pale green, like they had been before. She smiled slightly and walked over to Thanatos and the kimono girls. She placed her hand on his arm in a comforting sort of way, standing next to him. As soon as she stopped, her feet turned brown again and her roots dove back into the ground, causing her to shiver slightly.

Sunny's musical voice permeated the air, "These creatures, what were they?" She asked, looking at the four rhyming girls.

They giggled again and leapt away, wasting no more time to talk to the group. Covering several feet with each bound, they pranced down the street, almost dancing in the beauty of their movements. They where soon out of sight, but the trail of their footsteps where easily seen, the patches of ice, wildflowers, unseasonably free grass and slightly luminescent moss leading towards the edge of town. Traces of their giggles still drifted back hauntingly, along with snatches of their earlier verse.

"Come with us, Accompany us, Follow us, Be with us."

Verity began to follow, she didn't wish to just stand around anymore. She didn't really want answers, but it made more sense for her to follow. She didn't have anything important to do anyway. Turning back to the others, she gestured for their follow before turning and following the patches of flowers, ice, leaves, and grasses.

Shekal was more or less in shock. Was he dreaming? Were the paranormals out to get him? He took a few breaths and chased after that other girl who had a thing for making snow. He frowned though after a few moments thought aloud, "Well I don't exactly have a weapon.. I left my mallet at home.." He sucked on his teeth thoughtfully and shrugged. Maybe he could fine a rock or something to use later on. Like he did with the snowballs. Eventually catching up to the girl he walked along side her, silently lost in his own thoughts.

The trail lead the group to the edge of town. Though Defiance had grown into a rather decent sized city, certain parts of it were still undeveloped. Black hill was one of them. It acted as a barrier between Blackthorne Forest and the city. Only one street climbed to small rise, and a single lone house sat at the summit, mostly hidden by foreboding trees. The Old Chamber's Mansion.

It was one of the oldest structures in the town, excluding the three ruins. With its shadowy atmosphere and forsaken, weary look, it was well known as a haunted mansion. Even the small magic community dared not go there, certain it is a place of evil. Withered looking vines climbed the high walls and hung from the rusted spikes that topped it. Large wooden gates hung invitingly open, the trail leading right in. They moment they stepped through it, they swung shut with a resounding slam.

For a moment, the crash echoes over the yard, the trees and plants, surprisingly well kept, rustling softly in the nighttime wind. Another sound came form the right, and a short old man, his matted beard hanging past his knees, twigs and loose leave caught in it. He looked beaten and broken, his clothing torn, patched and re-torn many time over. He had a worn rope in his hands, tried to an old chest. The tracks behind him testified that he had being dragging it from behind the house.

"Fools!" he roared. "D'you know wat chou've gotten yourself into?" He slumped over and rest against the chest, wearied by the outburst. "Wat in Gaius' name possessed chou to come h're? Don't chou kno tis 'aunted?"

Shekal peered at the man. "Sorry pops but I've already battled living pumpkin things that could poke someone insane. I'm pretty sure we can handle these ghosts." Shekal said it but he wasn't exactly thinking it. Could they posses people? Would he not be able to use his weapon? Thoughts drove on and on through his head at the possibilities. He assured himself that these girl, elemental things. Or what ever they were called led them here for a reason.. He suddenly felt cold when he took a second glance around and started to moves his fingers as if he were typing. "Creepy place though.. I have to admit.."

"Ghosts! Ghosts!" the old man spluttered. He dropped his rope and stalked over to Shekal. He only reached to boy a bit past his waist, and jabbed a thick stubby finger in Shekal's gut as he spoke. "Ye think de the wors' this place got is ghost! Chou got anneigh ting' coming lad!" He pointed aggressively at the trail they followed.

"Judgin by the trail o' crumbs you fools follow in h're, I'mma guess you met de season sistas. 'Bout yea high," he stretched and held his hand about a foot above his head, "prance 'round de place like a coupla drunk pappies, right?"

Shekal cleared his throat. The mans breath smelled. "Uh, that's right sir.." He managed to maintain his respect while holding back a small gag. "Rhyming, Flirting, Dancing, Trail." He told the speech troubled man. "Now your turn to tell me, what is the worst thing that this place holds?" Shekal near demanded as he peered around himself as if ready for a demon lord to come out of no where and kill them all. "Not that I'm nervous or anything but, you know, better to know your enemy then not at all." He scratched his head nervously. He was usually a calm one, but when it came to superstitious things he would do near anything to prevent it.

Sunny knelt down next to one of the trees in the area. She planted her hands and head on it, closing her eyes. Her feet turned brown again, sending roots downward. Sunny evened her breathing, her body swaying slightly with the wind. It looked like she was just hugging a tree, but what she was really doing was listening to the tree. Her plant-like nature allowed her to understand the languages of the plants around her.

"Yes, I understand..." Sunny chirped in a different language. She was speaking to the plants in the language of plants. Ordinary humans wouldn't be able to understand her words at this moment. Sunny now began humming softly, still swaying with the breeze.

"So now we've stumbled upon some haunted manse," Thanatos spoke up harshly after hearing enough of the old man's dribble. He was silently reprimanding himself for such faulty judgment as to actually follow those girls here, but what was done was done. And there was nothing left to do about it. He gave the old man the cold shoulder to take a look at the shut gate.

"We're not getting outta here so easily, are we?" he asked aloud, pointing at the gate he was scrutinizing.

"Of course chou ain! Thas y I called chou fools!" His grasp of english seemed to fall as his rage rose. "You nae have time to worry 'bout the rest of the horr'rs o' this place anywae!" the man erupted again. He hastily padded over to his chest and, pulling a key for the depths of his beard, unlocked it with a loud click and swung it open.

Instead of the splintery wooden inside that one would expect, an almost liquid darkness pooled in it. The pool quivered and seemed to drain away, revealing an odd assortment. A hammer, a shield, a Japanese styled sword in a sheath, and amulet and what looked like a snowflake.

"Imma guessing these are yours," the man said. "This h're chest is dedicat'd to Los. It tens to fin tings chou need, but on'y if tis alrea'y chours." He looked grimly at the contents. "Since its weap'ns, Imma bet dem der sisters will be showin' up soon!"

The moment he finished speaking, the swirled and formed into the four sisters. They floated an inch or two off the ground, the wind that swept across the clearing leaving their hair and long sleeves strangely up troubled.
"Take you weapons, that is best."
"Their is no time for you to rest."
"Stand firm and face our test."
"As we fight at our master's beset."

Thanatos instantly grabbed for his sword and cradled it gently in his arms. "After today, I am never leaving you at home again," he stated sullenly, a bit of irritation mixing in his voice as he remembered the barrage of pointed sticks from not too long ago. He placed the sheath on his side and drew the blade, the silvery surface flashing quickly as it emerged.

"I believe I'm ready to take on anything with this baby back in my possession," he said with a slight grin, slashing the air a few times, definitely glad for the sword's light weight.

Sunny removed her head from the tree, smiling brightly at it. "Rest easy, my child." Sunny chirped again in her strange language, patting the tree with her hand. She stood up, turning around to face the group. She didn't feel like making her roots retract again, so she just disappeared into the ground and came back up nearer to the group.

Sunny eyed Thanatos warily, looking mostly at his sword. "Do not harm the plants," she said, gesturing towards the plant life around them, "Not unless you wish to anger me."

Shekal nearly grabbed it straight away as he saw his mallet. "Good God, I thought I was never going to see you again!" He twisted the mallet and threw it between each hand. "Yup same old mallet." He grinned with satisfaction as he said it. He made a false swing as if swinging it at a invisible enemy. "Well, I'm all set now." A small grin crept along his face until it looked like a mad smile. "So again, what's the worst that we can face now that we have our weapons...and um, vines?"

Verity didn't move, the snowflake merely floated over to her, hovering around her. She didn't say anything either, merely looking at the others with a blank expression. She didn't wish to make contact with the others, at least not yet. Sure they had gotten into this with her, but she didn't need to speak if she didn't want to.
