Minecraft Chat Thread

I basically just decided that Minecraft has been discussed enough on these forums to warrant it's own chatting thread.

Screenshots should still go into the virtual art section though.

This is just a place to talk/ask questions about Minecraft.

I'll also have updates on what Notch is doing whenever I see/get them, as well as posting a few youtube videos that I like.

Awesome. And yeah, I was starting to think that maybe Minecraft required it's own thread. ^.^;;

So what have you been planning lately?

WELL, since I still can't find a freaking skeleton dungeon, I turned the difficulty to peaceful and started finding building material and ores.

I went exploring, actually, and found an amazing natural formation with a large overhang that I couldn't wait to get my hands dirty on. I made it look ridiculous and plan on making it more ridiculous. I'll probably have screenshots up soon.

I did find a dungeon while exploring, but it was a zombie dungeon, so I killed it and looted the chests and mossy cobblestone. There was a green record as well, so some good came out of it.

Anyway, I plan on having an intense series of connections in the general area of that rock formation, having it branch out into other mountains like a super-base. It's gonna be sweet. I'll have to make a minecart station and connect it to spawn or my other bases so that when I enter it into Tyken's World Contest, he can view all of my awesome bases.

I may post the world here again, an updated version at least. I'll have minecarts set up if I do.

I and my friend Dorian have built a Wizard's Tower, a Treehouse Nightclub, an almighty Reed Farm, the beginnings to a portal system, several Pits of Death that started out as mining expeditions, and a gazebo.

It goes down to bedrock.

You need to build a monstrous construction that goes from the bottom all the way up to the ceiling. This conceptual monstrosity is what you need screenshots of.

It's a bit slow for me at the moment, so I'll probably get on later.

I do know two of the three new half-blocks. Cobblestone and wood.

Yay for sandstone, my new favorite building material. And I finally built a bed. Damn sheep. They have four different shades of wool now, it messes with my OCD. D: Especially since I'm constructing a white tower.

Sounds amazing.

Now, if only I had a structure where I needed sandstone.

. . . A desert temple? With gold accents?

Meh.

I might use them for my beach resort later on.

Now I've begun to connect two of the mountains by tunnel. I keep running out of diamond picks though, so I need to find more diamond or hack in a long-lasting gold pick. I've decided that the tunnel connecting them is going to be 3x3 with glass surrounding the walls and the ceiling, with lava light all across it, above the glass. So not only will I have light to prevent unwanted spawns, but it will look awesome too.

Well, I finished the cactus maze level, but then the game updated, and now our server software is outdated. >.< I'll have to wait to complete the la--ERROR: shall not be not be named--challenge.
