Yes, we are actually talking about something we mean to happen in game, roleplay-wise. If there were a battle happening, we'd be talking about the battle and possibly how our characters could screw with each other during such a battle. Say if we were talking about Corruption or Skyrim, that would be off topic.

As for why the crew didn't use the cannons, I think it's fairly obvious that all but three of the men aboard this ship are wimps. :P
