Pokemon: 5th Generation Empty Pokemon: 5th Generation

Post by Durn Wed Nov 10, 2010 7:23 pm

I'm not sure if there's been any talk about this yet here, since I've been gone for quite a while, but I might as well post it anyways.

So yeah, Pokemon Black and White have recently been released in Japan, and it's brought a whole lot of crap to the table.

  • Triple Battles (I find this 100% unnecessary, to be honest)
  • The most new Pokemon out of any generation thus far.
  • Many new type combinations (Ghost/Fire, Ghost/Ground, Normal/Grass, and Dragon/Ice are a few that come to mind), abilities, and moves.
  • The Dream World - a place where you can capture Pokemon with different abilities than they would normally have (i.e. Blastoise with Rain Dish. No joke).

You can find a full list of the new Pokemon here:

http://pokemon.marriland.com/black_white/pokedex

Not many of them appeal to me, but I guess a couple include:

Pokemon: 5th Generation EDP1Pokemon: 5th Generation EDP2Pokemon: 5th Generation EDP3

Some of the ones I think are absolutely terrible include (A fucking genie trio, seriously):

Pokemon: 5th Generation BD1Pokemon: 5th Generation BD2Pokemon: 5th Generation BD3Pokemon: 5th Generation BD4Pokemon: 5th Generation BD5Pokemon: 5th Generation BD7

Yeah. That's just what we need. A pokemon that's both Dragon AND Ice. = / Killing just a dragon-type is annoying enough. Now they had to cover one of its very few weaknesses. Fucking great.

And I went through that list and said "What the fuck is that?" for a majority of them.

There's a few new ones that I find extremely cute. Others are fugly.

And a genie trio? What the hell do they do, grant wishes? Oh, wait, no. Jiraichi already has that field covered.

I think that this generation was a huge step in the wrong direction. Most of the Pokemon don't even look like Pokemon.

I also forgot to mention that the player is unable to catch a single 1-4th Generation Pokemon before obtaining the National Dex.

... Except for Magikarp. No joke.

And you can't even catch it. You buy it from some guy who says it's a "rare Pokemon foreign to this region". =_=

I can't remember any of the other downsi-

...

Never mind. Meet Genosect:

Pokemon: 5th Generation BW_Fr_649

Yep. He's a (almost completely monochrome) purple, metallic bug creature.

See what's happening here? The drugs the guys who create these things were taking before are becoming weaker so they have to find stronger junk.

What happened to the good ol' pokemon. I think things started going downhill on the last generation. The third wasn't too bad. I honestly didn't like the second generation at all. The first was the best. Nothing can beat the classics.

I think a part of it might be the original Japanese influence that some of the original Pokemon had; well, not the Pokemon themselves, but the regions they were designed to live in, you see.

The previous Pokemon games were designed with Japanese architecture and whatever in mind, but the main Black/White developers said that this generation was based in more of a "United States" type of region.

That's probably why they look like shit. *Shrugs*

Saying that, it is the perfect explanation. I like living in the US and whatever, but...well. Basing pokemon on a US influence is like trying to base a painting on a pile of horse shit. Yesh.

I liked the green dinosaur-thingy...and I liked a lot of pokemon on the list. Especially Victini. And every dragon ever made has always looked cool.

But triple battles are overkill...

Ew.....looks like a pile of vomit. I have to say even though some of these pokemon are horrible, they are quite hilarious at the same time. Still, I wouldn't touch that thing with out putting on a pair of gloves first.

And what the fuck is the point of a triple battle? Seriously? That's like half your fucking pokemon. Hey, here's an idea: let's have a sextuple battle. Just let all your pokemon go wild and we can have like a mini pokemon war or whatever. > >

And that's why.

It's fucking ice cream. Now let's break this down:

It's a Pokemon that's made out of ice cream.

It's a Pokemon. And it's ice cream.

Ice cream is edible.

Usually, Pokemon aren't.

This Pokemon, on the other hand, is made out of ice cream. :3
