Seeing the creatures, Sayori had a frightened look and huddled away from the creatures. She hugged Akina tightly and cried slgihtly.

"Akina, they're gonna eat me!" Sayori cried.

"Don't worry Sayori, you just stay out of trouble, I'll make sure they don't eat you!"

Nina then reached for her spear, saying the same prayer once more. Her wings of golden light appeared and she was ready for the fight. She looked down at Sayori once more before looking at their foes.

Grey threw his arm out and a giant swarm of blazing, red mana particles surged around him. His scream resounded throughout the silent area, and there was a giant flash of red light. When the light faded, a monster stood in the exact place Grey had been. Its body was black as charcoal and blazing with fire. It was humanoid, but had no facial features except to sunken in spots for eyes. It hovered in place, its heat melting some of the snow beneath it.

Finally, Adranus felt as if he possessed enough strength to actually do something. He hovered forth and punched a snowclasp in the side of its shell, a scorch mark appearing in the spot. Though, his assault was not complete until he gave the beast a dangerous uppercut and then quickly punched its actual body inside the shell.

And the monsters, the light burned, hurt worse than anything they'd ever felt. But it was over in an instant, leaving Nina a crumppled heap on the ground.
