Sonia moved quickly, she knew they all had to be on their feet, their minds sharp at all times. One slip up, and it could all go down hill. Her eyes drifted from ally to foe as she stepped into place. What should she do now, fight, or save her muh needed Mana for later? Deciding that she was just as valuable as any other in this fight she stayed put, not wanting to mess things up for her allies.

Albere shot a crazed smile at Rosetta. "Now what is it that you are planning, hm?" He raised his mechanical claw to his ear and tapped it with a single metal claw. "What's that, you say? You're planning on dying? My, how positively GRUESOME!" With a quick movement, he thrust his claw right through Rosetta's chest and ripped it out of her with great force. "Was that not enough to kill you? Oh dear. I'm sorry, but I guess you'll just have to suffer for now." He laughed maniacally up at the ceiling.

Now that Albere was appropriately protected, Aronia switched up her tune and began her onslaught. Last time, she had devastated the party, and she planned to do it again. Rapid, entropic notes filled the room and laser guns appeared from metal panels on the wall. With a single sharp note, all of the lasers unleashed mayhem upon her enemies. A grimace remained on her face as she played. She would have to take care of them quickly.

Valincar couldn't believe he actually survived the laser attack. The guns were still out and threatening to fire. He had to do something to stop it. Quietly, he fazed through the tanks and appeared on the bench right next to Aronia. She didn't see him at first, but she looked up at him questioningly, her fingers still playing. "Mind if I join you?" the nightshade asked and started playing a tune of his own. The two melodies joined together into some horrid sound that caused the guns to short out and the force fields to disappear.

Before she knew what hit her, Aronia slammed down on some keys causing an electrical field to burst out of nowhere and send Lilith flying into the door on the opposite side of the room. She arose quickly while shaking her head. Before rushing in again, she focused on her internal commands and entered her recovery state. Valincar seemed to be messing up the organist's music which was a bit harsh to the ears. What would come of this horrid duet?

Lily paused in her spot, looking around at everyone around her. "I need to repay my debt to them somehow. Maybe this will help them forgive me, Valincar would need this the most anyway." Lily smiled, then closed her eyes and brought her hands together. After awhile, a small light began to form around her joined fists and broke apart, each one attaching to an ally, healing a few of their wounds. "While Valincar is doing his thing, I'll get closer to that organ player, break through those tanks, and get ready to take over for him when he gets tired." Lily said to herself, formulating her own plan of action.

"Michelle won't be happy about this," Rosetta mused as she took in the giant hole in her outfit. She ignored the blood leaking out of her wound, it closed up thanks to the spell Lily had cast, and frowned. Hopefully, the hyperactive female wasn't there when she returned. There was no telling what she would do if she saw Rosetta's current state.

"Hm?" the Elemental Striker looked up, blinking owlishly. "Oh, were you saying something? I apologize. I wasn't quite paying attention. Care to repeat yourself?" She moved closer. "Maybe I'll be able to hear you now."

[Rosetta] moves to [F-6].

Suddenly, a burning feeling filled the air. In a flash, Rosetta lunged, just as her blade burst into flames, releasing a ferocious roaring sound. Without hesitation, she stabbed the scientist before ripping her blade out and stabbing him again. She did it a third time, for good measure, fire whirling around them in a dance.

"Or maybe not," she whispered, face illuminated by the light of flames for a moment before they slowly died away.

Shadow say Lily softly chanting her spell, which not only healed the widespread wounds caused by Aronia's massive laser attack, but the everyone else, too. Seeing as Rosetta attacking the Soul Scientist, incapable of moving, Shadow thought focusing on him too would be a good idea. From the background, horrendous notes caused by the clashing of two distinct melodies were beginning to be heard on the background...

Shadow moves to G5 (G4 - G5).

The Ombre Skillblade sidestepped, coming face-to-face to Albere.

"Take this!"

Both of his slashers shone silver as they menacingly grew in length, Shadow quickly approached the Soul Scientist and mercilessly slashed twice in wide "X"-like pattern, before finishing his combo with a powerful kick directed into his ribcage, but hit the teal forcefield just like the previous two lacerations.

Lilith tried to fight the music emanating through the room, but she found her circuitry unresponsive. Suddenly, her blade attachments were hacking at her viciously. She tried to fight for control, only to fail miserably. There was no stopping them. Luckily, her armor was pretty tough, so she wasn't badly injured by the assault.

"Ooohh," Lily groaned out loud, falling to her knees. She felt dizzy and disoriented. Her mind was throbbing with pain, and her legs were immobile. When she tried to shake her head, it only made her headache worse. Lily attempted to look up, to see what the others were planning. "Maybe this wasn't such a great idea after all," She murmured to herself. "Czes...I think you chose right not to come back, but..." Lily closed her eyes, still attempting to clear her mind. "If you were here, this would not have been so painful."

Lily looked up once again, scanning the ranks of her allies and enemies. Aronia continued to play, but there was no sound of a second player. Valincar must have stopped for some reason. Probably knocked out. Lily grimaced, imagining her already-dead friend dead on the ground. "How do people die twice anyway? Ah! This isn't the time for that!" Lily snapped herself out of her own thoughts and continued her scan. Everyone else seemed to have gone loopy, except for Sonia's summon, Scather, and herself. Albere even went crazy, if possible, as he attacked Aronia from behind the tanks.

Lily's eyes brightened as she straightened herself, "That's it!" She exclaimed, picking up her fallen bow and pointing it at Albere. "If Albere can get behind those tanks without destroying them, then so can we!" Lily exclaimed. She looked over at Scather, Sonia's summon. "SCATHER!" Lily shouted, attempting to get the summon's attention, "This will be all over if you kill the organ player! You can save your summoner from dying today! I swear it!" Lily then brought her attention back to Albere. "That beast only obeys Sonia, I know that much, but still...I just have to hope that he understands what I mean."

"Okay bitch," Lily breathed, lining up an arrow with Albere's heart. She pumped her mana into the arrow, charging it up to it's maximum strength and killing capabilities. Electricity began to spark out of the bow as the arrow began to glow a bright yellow color. Lily pulled back the string a bit more, then fired. The arrow immediately took the shape of a lightning bolt, and that's all anyone could see. Electricity flying absolutely everywhere as the arrow plunged into and through Albere's chest, leaving a very wide hole in his chest.

Lily smiled triumphantly when she saw that her attack worked. All doubt was erased from her mind, and yet, she began to feel the exhaustion she recognized as an overuse of power while in a weakened state. Lily slumped down to the ground and lay there, breathing heavily from the effort she just gave. "How do you...like that?" she murmured, her eyes closed.

Sonia couldn't figure out what had happened. All she had done was move into place to heal Valincar, and then the sound pierced her ears. Was this all just one big dream? No it couldn't possibly be, she could tell where everything was. Whyt Albere and his assistant seemed to be all around her, with only Lily and Scather where the allies should have been. Seemingly fully aware, she raised her staff, and Volten came down, shocking her allies and herself rather than her foes.

Scather had disappeared and reappeared much like a Chesire Cat. He had evaded the sounds, and when he reappeared, the archer girl was speaking to him. The whole battle plan had been obvious before. But she was just spelling it out as she felt neccessary. To her words he let out a piercing shreak and flew into the air, building up energy. Suddenly three bursts of pure energy shot towards the organist who took the blows.

A crazed grin remained plastered on Albere's face as he slowly fell over. The sound of his body hitting the ground echoed throughout the now silent room. Aronia was slumped over her organ, barely conscious. Valincar rose slowly and hovered over to the others. Not a word permeated the silence now filling the room. They had done it. They had finally subdued the soul scientist and his assistant. Suddenly, a solitary note pierced the air. It was Aronia. Slowly, she managed to sit up and get off her bench and onto the floor where she proceeded to crawl towards the bleeding Albere. Her gaze was vacant, and it wasn't until she actually reached him did tears begin to fill her eyes. "You foolish man...," she muttered. "I warned you...they were stronger..." With that, her body gave way and fell on top of Albere's.

Valincar was about to approach them when the whole laboratory was shaken by a mighty explosion from above. Whatever it was destroyed the ceiling and filled the air with dust so the party couldn't see. When the dust cleared, a fairly large airship came into view. On the deck of it stood none other than the mercenaries that had taken them out before and stole the Grimoire de Origens: The Deadly Trio. A smile appeared on the serial killer's face as she leapt from the airship without fear followed by her cronies. She landed roughly between the party and Albere and Aronia. Edward called forth great columns of stone that rose from the ground. He hopped from column to column until he arrived safely next to the defeated pair. Zair merely performed various aerial acrobatics until he landed gracefully opposite Edward.

"And so we meet again, worthless shit," Ferria glared at the group. She took a few steps forward. "Do you plan to interfere again, or are you tired of getting your asses kicked for once?" Behind her, Edward was strapping Aronia to his back by summoning vines to support her while Zair carelessly tossed Albere onto his back.

"What are you going to do with them?!" Valincar shouted, his sword drawn. He was still a bit weak from the battle and he really felt like recovering first, but this had turned into a serious matter.

"That is none of your concern, insignificant fool," Ferria retorted mockingly. "Now, if you have no other questions..." she said and turned to walk away.

Lily still lay on the floor, eyes half open, watching as the Soul Scientist and Organist escape from the laboratory. The woman that had destroyed them before was standing there, as if she were blocking the path so that no further harm would come to Albere and Aronia as her cronies whisked them away. Lily would have a few words to say to them, but as of right now, she could hardly move.

Lily did manage, however, to push herself up in a sitting position. She squinted at the woman, her lips moving but no sound coming out. Oh forget it. It doesn't matter. Lily thought to herself, sighing. We won, that's all that matters. Lily slumped back onto the floor to rest, not caring any more about the scientist and the organist escaping. When the others finally noticed her, she expected questions to arise about her and Czes' absence. Not like she was able to answer at the moment, but maybe she would tell them, maybe not. With that in mind, Lily closed her eyes and rested.

Finally, they were done. Rosetta flicked her rapier, sending the blood lining it flying across the air and splattering onto the cold floor. Quickly giving her weapon a quick inspection, leaving blood on the blade would ruin and dull it, she found nothing but gave it a clean anyway. It was always nice to be careful.

Ignoring the ones that had crashed in uninvited, Rosetta spun on her heel, acting as if she didn't even notice them. Stepping quickly over to the fallen archer, Rosetta kneeled down, looking at the other with unreadable eyes.

"Are you alright?" she inquired, taking in the state of the girl. Without another word, the Elemental Striker gently took the archer's arm and put it over her shoulder. Supporting the other, she carefully lifted the archer up, holding onto the arm swung over her shoulders with one hand and another keeping a firm grip of the archer's side.

The Ombre Skillblade silently approached Valincar, his vision still set at the Deadly Trio. He wasn't really wounded, as Lily had nearly nullified Aronia's devastating laser attack with her spell.

"There's nothing we can do now, we're all tired from this battle." Shadow told him. "They also seem to be much more strong than our last battle with them."

Edward and Zair were already aboard the airship, Albere and Aronia slumped against the railing. They gave Ferria a thumb's up each and she nodded back to them. "It has been a pleasure doing business with you once again," she said snidely as with a single bound, jumped into the air, landing safely on the airship's deck next to Edward. With all five characters aboard, the airship's pilot put on the speed and accelerated away.

Valincar felt like dying...again. They barely survived the crazy battle and for what? Their targets escaped. What would K think? It was at times like these that he was happy to have K as a guildmaster. I mean, where would they go from here? Would they launch an offensive against the schemers in question? Someone was paying the Deadly Trio to do their dirty work...but how would they go about finding out exactly who? "Escuridao Pulsante..." the nightshade mumbled in his own little world.

"I feel a little shocked," Lily managed to say, half of her mouth forming a weak grin at her own joke. "My legs are numb and I could really use a bath, but otherwise, I'm healthy as an ox." Lily's grin faded as she closed her eyes and relaxed on Rosetta's shoulders. "Thanks, Rosetta."

Lily looked up at Valincar, "Hey, dead guy!" She called weakly, still cracking jokes, despite the state she was in. "We can worry about them later, let's get back to town quickly and rest up, none of us can handle another fight, I think."

"Try not to fall asleep," was Rosetta's response as she felt the archer relax on her. "I do not wish to carry you to town. Unless you do not mind being dragged." A rather tempting prospect but one Rosetta reined in. It wasn't kind, after all.

Looking up at where the ship was last, Rosetta narrowed her eyes. They would have to report their failure to the guild leader and about this new development. There were outside forces at work here and she had a feeling there was something they were missing. It was always like this. No doubt they were in the center of something big.

A smirk flitted across her face. What an interesting prospect.

In truth, Sonia was just as afraid of the outomce as she felt Valincar was. But they all had to be strong and hope they could eliminate the freaky duo later. Using her staff as a cane she headed for the door.

Everyone gathered together and proceeded to leave the soul laboratory behind once and for all.

In town, people were in the streets, many talking about the explosion that had apparently been loud enough to be heard from there. Many of the people had also spotted the airship. As the group headed towards the guild headquarters, they were stopped by K who seemed to be coming from the direction of the Elder's house.

"Excellent," he started, but stopped quickly after seeing their condition. "Is it just me or do you guys look horrible after each visit to that place?" he asked jokingly. He was obviously in a good mood. This inquired Valincar to speak.

"Pray tell why you're so happy?" the nightshade replied miserably.

"Well, even though Albere and Aronia escaped--yes, I know about that--at least you got them away from the city. The lab will be destroyed soon. We don't want those two coming back ever again," he explained with a grin. With amazing speed, he snatched the request scroll for that mission from Valincar. "Consider this request a success."

"Ah! It's so nice to be back in town!" Lily exclaimed, grinning up at the bright sky. They had left headquarters not too long ago, so Lily was able to fully experience the town's wonders all for herself. She spun around gracefully and smiled at the others. "I'm going to go check out the shops, and afterwards, I have something to show all of you." Lily looked over at Valincar, "Something that you need to look at, Mr. Ghost." With that said, Lily spun back around and dashed further into town.

She immediately visited the Weapons shop first, looking around at all the exquisite weaponry. She in particular admired an unusual sword. It was a long sword, but the blade was wide and the top curved back towards the guard. It seemed to be the perfect weapon for grabbing onto other swords and yanking them away from the enemy. It had a sapphire blue line in the center of the blade that extended all the way to the tip. It was beautiful, but Lily could never misplace her love for bows.

"That would be mine now." Lily lifted her head to see quite the familiar face. It was a green-haired woman who wore thick plates as armor, as well as plates for her legs and arms as well. An image of a dragon was painted onto the dark blue armor. A sword similar to the one in the showcase hung by her waist.

"Selena!" Lily exclaimed, "Oh, it's so good to see you again! You're looking great!"

"And you look like a wreak." Selena replied, eyeing Lily. She turned to the salesman, pointing to the falchion, "That's mine now. Oh, I have the money, don't worry about that." Selena turned back to Lily. "Still fascinated with bows? I see that you've made a little progress..."

"I have, really!" Lily answered, a grin plastered on her face. "Don't worry about me. You might be stronger, but I'll catch up to you soon!"

"Nah, that'll never happen."

"Selena!"

Selena laughed aloud, Lily's face depressed into a pout. Selena placed her hand on Lily's head, messing up the archer's hair purposefully. "Don't worry about it, you'll become strong in your own way."

"You're not my mom."

"No, but I am older than you." Selena said, raising an eyebrow, "Now stop interrupting people when they're trying to talk. You'll end up getting killed."

"Personal experience?"

Selena dropped her hand, smiling at Lily. She picked up the sword, exchanging money and her old sword with the clerk. "I'll see you some other time, Lily. My brother is waiting, so I must be off."

"Okay! Say hi to Sayo for me!" Lily said, waving goodbye as Selena exited the shop. Lily smiled brightly, "Selena, if only you knew how strong I can get...Anyway, how much for that bow?"

Once Lily was finished in the Weapon shop, she made her way next door to the Armor shop, this time headed straight for the vest. She exchanged the money, changed, and sold her old, ruined vest to the unhappy clerk.

"Now then, where could that dead guy be now? The library, maybe?" Lily asked herself, searching the streets of Visterre for the elusive ghost, Valincar.

The Elder wanted to speak with them? Rosetta narrowed her eyes, a thoughtful glint in them. It must be important. No doubt they would be sent off somewhere as soon as possible. But there were still stuff they had to do, if only to get stronger.

"Should we finish the other requests we still have with us?" she inquired to her companions, absentmindedly noting the archer had gone off to shop for equipment. The girl never did get anything new the last time they were in town.

"I agree..." Shadow nodded. "We should do those pending Requests which are in ours hands, we are probably going to be sent off somewhere..."

For The Elder to speak with them, and the matters concerning the Grimoire de Origens itself, this was something Shadow was definitely not missing. But first, those Requests sounded quite interesting, and would help them get stronger. After all, the unexpected appearance of the Deadly Trio brought back memories of how easily they were defeated by them, at Visterre's gates.

Valincar had wandered away from the main group fairly quickly. He was exhausted, even though he had no physical form. Floating about solemnly, he glanced at the various people walking by. Many were distracted by conversation centered around what had happened not too long ago. As he looked around, he realized he was in a part of town he hadn't been in. He hoped he wasn't lost. With a shrug of his shoulders, he continued on.

Lilith looked around only to see that Lily and Valincar had vanished. She was slightly distressed. "I recommend that you take care of the extra stuff you've got to do first. The Elder is one of the most patient people in Visterre...or so I've heard from Albere, except he used the word 'stubborn'," she offered in advice. She turned around and started to walk towards one of the main roads of Visterre that led into the jungle. "I wanted to thank you all for all the help you gave me. Albere may have escaped, but I feel fulfilled now. I can finally move on." She paused as silence filled the air. "I'm going to bid you all my leave now. I need to start my new life; the life I'll have as part machine. Maybe I can do some good in another town." She turned her head to look at the group. "I won't say goodbye...only because I know we'll see each other again..." A few teardrops slid down her cheek. "Give Valincar and that girl the message for me, will you?" With that, she made her way down the road, crying. Those tears showed that she was more human than anything.

"You know they're about to execute their plan, right?" a voice called out to Valincar from a nearby rooftop. Valincar looked to see a figure in a dark cloak with the hood up jump down from a building and land safely on the ground. "Valincar, right?" the voice was male and even his build suggested the same.

Valincar drew his sword in a flash. "I am, but I see not how that has anything to do with you," he said threateningly. His eyes were blazing dangerously.

The cloaked man merely laughed. "You have no idea!" he exclaimed and kept laughing for several minutes. When he finally calmed down, he continued. "Listen, I'm just warning you not to fuck around for too long, all right? You have no idea what they have in store for you, your friends, and this whole damned world." With that, he vanished.

Valincar searched around nervously until he realized that the man had truly gone. He sheated his sword and thought about the man's warning. "Who was that fellow? And what are they planning, exactly?" he muttered, trapped in serious and troubling thought.

"He's not in the library, any of the shops OR the headquarters!" Lily groaned, irritated by her inability to locate the dead man. "How hard is it to find someone who's dead! It's not like they have anything to worry about, they live practically forever!" Lily grabbed a fistful of her own hair, disturbed that she was being eluded by a ghost. "Don't tell me he's hiding in a wall or something, following me." Lily muttered, stopping in her tracks. She turned her head around, looking behind her, as if Valincar was attempting to scare her. "He's what I would call the world's best stalker."

Lily turned a corner, and finally laid eyes on Valincar's ghostly form. She jumped slightly and dashed back behind the wall. The Nightshade had not seen her yet, and she was going to surprise him. Lily peeked around the corner once more, seeing that Valincar had stopped moving. "Okay, now or never.."

Lily crept up behind Valincar, not making so much as a sound. Thanks to her training as an archer, she gained abilities to be quiet as a mouse when stalking game or enemies. When she was close enough, she wrapped her arms around his head and blocked his eyes with her hands. "Hey there ghosty, guess who?" Lily taunted, grinning.

Valincar reacted quickly and fazed into the ground only to reappear behind Lily. "Well, now that I am able to see you, I must say that you are Lily," he stated simply. "Not many people try to sneak up on ghosts; good thing I imagined you would be one of those people. You find that when you die, there is not much that you have left to be afraid of if you are afraid of anything at all." His tone was sobering, and the memories of his recent encounter with the strange cloaked man still had him slightly disturbed.

The nightshade shook his head and addressed Lily once again. "I assume you need something? Otherwise, you would not have went through the trouble of seeking me out," he notioned. "After all, I could have been hiding in a wall and you or none of the others would never have been able to find me."
