Hand on the handle of her rapier, she stopped short after a short while of walking and drew the weapon. It seemed that she was just barely in range, but it would have to do. Fire igniting at her feet, she directed it towards the woman and watched it land.

"Misson complete."

The blade was gone in a flash, the elderly matron lying in a pool of her own blood as both venom and fire burned in and around her system. She was as good as dead alright, and there was a good chance she would stay that way, even if one tried to revive her.

But the woman who had been blocking their escape was not the center of attention right now. But rather, the other woman who had appeared from no where and dealt the final blow. Terra gazed upon her for the longest time, until their eyes met, and the other moved over to the Esper.

Moving in close, she murmured something only the girl could hear, and reached into her coat's pocket. She pulled her hand out, and placed a crystalized object in the younger's hand and then turned. Not looking back she spoke two words and vanished.

"Stay safe... "

Party Obtains: Mysterious Rose

As the chains slipped off them, both runners stretched their tired muscles and spared glances at the others. When the girl with the curious blade disappeared, James scowled slightly.

"Well that was weird. Anyone care to elaborate?"

Anna tugged on his arm, catching his attention. "I think we'd better go . . ." She looked around at all the destruction that had been caused around them, then at Alex, their newest charge.

Jesse picked up something sticking out of one of the claws the matron had wielded. To her surprise, it was a guitar, and a rather nice at that. Better than the one she was currently using. "Sweet." She put the other one away and swung this all metal one over her shoulder. Upon hearing Anna's suggestion that they vacate the premises, she readily agreed. "Yeah, we should. Considering we just broke a guy outta prison, killed a bunch of guards and her--" She promptly kicked the old hag. "We're probably considered dangerous fugitives right now."

James crossed his arms. "And you know this how?"

"Well it's not like I know from experience or anything." She scoffed.

"Right."

Go. What did that word mean again? Yes. To move on. To leave. Prior, he had no such option, but here he was. He took one step, then another. Slowly, he approached Terra, his eyes downcast as if he were nervous. The bandages, now tinged with blood, appeared to be inactive, almost as if they had never been used as a weapon against an old woman. Crimson. Oh yes, the crimson. It would be a reminder of how great a victory this was, and his claim to freedom.

"I-I don't know where you're going....," he said solemnly and clutched an arm with the opposite hand. "I don't know what you're trying to do....b-but I want to help you. Y-you set me free, and I want....I want to show my gratitude. I'll stick with you for....as long as you'll have me...." For some reason, he felt like crying again, but it was going to be a long road no matter which path he ended up taking, so he had to get his emotions under control.

Terra hardly registered what her other friends had said, she had been too focused on what Rose had said. Take him with you... keep him safe... head for Faythe... and then... She didn't hear what the last part was. If what the woman had said was important, they might just need the info. But, unfortunately, they had no way of finding out, so they would just have to go with what they knew.

In her slight daze, she caught the last of what Alexander had said, a small smile reaching her depressed face. Wrapping the former prisoner up in a tight embrace, she nodded, a slight tear streaming down her cheek.

"Yes... I would like for you to come with us... I would like that very much."

With no one but themselves left, the party left the prison, heading back towards Kopi. It was a rather long process, but rewarding, and without trouble seeing as a new day was dawning. And as such it was the dawn of a brand new adventure and happiness that would await. When the group finally reached the center of Kopi, Terra turned to the others, a sort of more mature aura to her for once.

"You guys should go check out the weapon, armor, item, and synthesis shop. Get what you think we'll need, I'll fill you in on what we have to do when you get back."

Alexander nodded in response to Terra's suggestion and meandered off on his own. Now that he was free....and had people he wanted to protect, he'd need to make sure he had everything he needed at his disposal. Lost in his thoughts, he wandered into the synthesis shop, approaching the counter a bit apprehensively. There wasn't anyone there at the counter to help him.

"H-hello? Is there anyone here?" he called out, hoping to get some response.

"Of course, of course. One second." It was a female's voice coming from the back. A girl came into view from what must have been a back room. "Hey, hey! That's some nice stuff you have there...," she said gleefully with a smile and hopped over the counter, frisking Alexander for items. Getting what she needed, she hopped right back over. "Want me to turn these into something cool?" she asked.

Alexander had been shocked at being felt by the woman. He just nodded his head, wide-eyed.

She winked at him and disappeared into the back room. Several minutes later, she came back and laid some wiring and a coat she had constructed from some wolf pelts. It was rather fashionable. "There ya go! How about some gold, hm?" she said, stretching out her hand.

"O-of course. Thank you," he replied, handing the woman the amount of gold she had requested. He took his new gear and replaced his old stuff with it.

"Come on Anna." James pulled his counterpart along with him towards the shops, leaving Jesse to stand there and marvel at her new guitar. She practically caressed its copper strings and stroked its dark metal neck and the tuning knobs that protruded from the head.

He snorted. And she called them weird? Right.

They passed the synth shop, where Alex was seen leaving, and Anna stopped in front of the window. "Ew. Look at this." She gestured at the pair of clothing items on display. They were apparently made from wolf's skin, fur showing on the shoulders and lapel of one vest and on the trim of a tank top--both conspicuously leather. James shrugged, he didn't see what was wrong with it.

Correctly interpreting his nonchalance, Anna scoffed at him. "Look at them! It's barely better than cavepeople clothes! Ugh!!"

James sighed and dragged her along again, towards his original destination.

"Oh! Wait, wait! I'll be right back!"

Anna easily shrugged out of grasp and ran off into the shop with a short squeal of impatience when she ran into a little old lady. James crossed his arms and waited patiently, not about to bother the withered, white-haired woman. A minute later, Annalise skipped outside and hooked an arm with his. "Okay! We can go now."

He continued on with her and stopped at the item shop, where they could buy supplies they'd more than likely need for whatever trouble decided to head their way next.

With everything said and done, each of the party members slowly made their way back to Terra. The girl stood, turned away from them for the longest time until she finally turned around, her eyes misty as if she was holding back tears. But she forced it from her expression and nodded at each of her oldest friends.

"I will be heading onto Faythe and then onward to Irriom, for that is what Rose told me to do. I know not of what I am to do, but I can say this. Things from here on out will be more dangerous. I don't blame you if you don't want to help me, I don't wish to go myself, but I must. What do you all say? Will you follow me?"

Anna grinned brightly, the smile stretching her mouth in a display of light. "Girl, don't be silly. 'Course we're coming with you." She pressed closer to James, subtly poking him with her elbow. It wasn't needed, as he nodded sternly in agreement.

Jesse sidled up to Terra and laid an arm over her shoulders. "Yeah, you're family now. You're stuck with us." She laughed. "Whether you like it or not." The guitarist patted the side of Terra's head in a sideways hug.

"What about you dude? You still gonna hang with us?" Jesse directed at Alex.

Alexander stepped forward, his new wires of death slowly starting to move. His power hadn't possessed enough time yet to fully control them, but as he spent more time with them, he would learn to use them as a weapon. "I had already expressed....my desire to go with you." He paused and fiddled with his new coat. "I-I don't plan on going back on my word. I owe you so much. The least I can do is to lend you my strength."

"AWW!"

Before James could stop her, Anna flung herself at the recently escaped prisoner and gripped him in a deathhug. James sighed, scowled, went through the whole range of the expressions he wielded that portrayed exasperation and attempted to pry her off the guy.

"Anna, seriously."

Terra suddenly grinned, and slowly began to chuckle, her prior mood of depression and worry was long gone. The same old Terra was back, and she was happier than ever. It was almost as if she had forgotten about her dangerous journey, if it was even true that it would be dangerous.

Once the party finally pried Anna from Alex, the small group of four set off into the wild open plains. The memories of the forest looming as they were forced to walk rather close as the plains slowly rose and became cliffs.

Dawn turned to day, day to dusk, and finally dusk to the silent night time. Though they had been walking for hours, with no sign of town or even some sense of civilization, the party moved on. It wasn't until town was in sight that the group finally met with a trouble.

From the ground came the same screaming, bone chattering, spine tingling sounds the older party members had grown accustomed to. Turning, they all met with three skeletons, except these were different. They wore robes, and carried long bones, with intricate carvings and symbols etched into the white mass.

Drawing her rapier, Terra looked to the others for a moment.

"Think we'll ever lose these skeleton freaks?"
