Krad growled. "Damn it! If I'm going down, then I'm taking you with ME!" he yelled and held up his hand. A peculiar ring on his index finger began to glow and suddenly, he slashed at her with his knife. She couldn't dodge it, but it seemed he wasn't quite done yet. She prepared for an evasive tactic.

A confident smirk appeared on Krad's face as he did a backflip and raised his ringed hand into the air briefly before bringing it back down. Marya looked up quickly and saw an immense sphere of solid blue energy above her. It descended upon her quickly, but her instincts took over and she dodged an attack that most certainly would have killed her.

She leapt into the air, kicking the thief in the chest on her ascent, and when she reached the climax of her jump, she slammed the heel of her foot down on the thief's head causing his face to slam into the ground hard. "I don't wanna see his face after that," she muttered while shivering slightly.

"She is pretty cute though; I'd hate to see it go to waste. I might take her for a test run, first, if you know what I mean." A horrid smirk appeared on the thief's face as he raised his hand and lowered just as fast. A sphere of solid blue energy appeared above Authurius and crashed into him without mercy.

Marya's thief did not get up. A sigh of relief escaped her lips, but she then realized that it wasn't over. Authurius was still fighting with the other thief, so she dashed over and landed a flying kick right to the man's head before doing a backflip and dashing right back to him for a powerful thrust with one of her claws.

Marya wiped some sweat off her forehead and ripped off some of the dead thief's clothing to bandage her wounds. Authurius had drained him of blood, so he wasn't getting up anytime soon. However, the other thief was beginning to stir. Marya walked over to him and kicked him so that he flipped over onto his back. His face was a horrible, bloody mess from its collision into the ground.

"P-please, just let me go," the pathetic thief muttered, shaking. He started to crawl away desperately, but Marya slammed her foot onto his stomach causing him to cough up some blood.

Marya shook her head. "I....I can't let you go," she said, her voice filled with despair. "You're just going to hurt other people, and I can't let that happen..." Tears were forming in her eyes and the thief was muttering something about changing his ways, pleading with her to see that. Marya leapt into the air and descended, her foot outstretched. The horrific and sickening sound of crunching bone filled the air as Marya's foot collided with the thief's skull. Blood soaked the road and bits and pieces of brain matter escaped the grotesque mess. The thief was dead. And Marya had killed him.

Authurius had dropped the thief on the ground when he was done so that he could watch Marya deal with the other thief. He was a little surprised when she smashed his head in, but then he'd crushed a man's windpipe while trying drink his blood. The vampire smiled, mostly to himself, and stalked closer to Marya.

"That was nice. They're both dead now, we can move on." He wiped his mouth in an effort to remove some of the blood, but he knew that the rest of his face was pretty well smeared with blood too. At least his gut wasn't killing him anymore, and his throat felt a lot better.

Authur touched his chest in a couple spots where he'd been stabbed or slashed. He was mostly healed. His head still felt a little light, but much clearer. Much easier to see Marya as less of a meal and more his friend. Authur licked his teeth, getting any remaining blood, before he spoke.

"We can keep going now, right?"

Marya looked up at Authurius. "Yes," she answered simply. "We should get going if we want to make good time." Thus, the pair continued on their way up the road towards the village of Rose. The sun had finally set behind the horizon and suprisingly, floating orbs of light lined up down the road to illuminate it, kind of like street lights. Of course, that made things quite eerie. That's when a scream pierced the night. Marya took off sprinting towards some commotion up ahead. A couple of thieves and animals were hassling what looked like a maid. "Authur! I don't even have to say it, right?" she said and took a battle stance.

Aer had no idea that the new arrivals were so quick and adept at battling. He was completely taken by surprise. However, the man that had attacked him wasn't the only one with battle skills.
