The Safeguard fades.

Rosetta's Intangible has 2 turns left.

Shadow takes 28 Piercing Dmg!

Shadow KO!

Enemy Phase.

Ferria jabbed her sword into the ground, her composure slowly regaining. "See what you've done?" she asked inquisitively. "You went and made me lose control." She took a look around the area at the mostly dead party. She walked over to Valincar.

Ferria moves to D5.

She held out her hand to the ghost. "There is nothing left to gain just as there is nothing left to lose. Hand over the Grimoire. Taking your life would be pointless. You might as well give it to me." She tapped her foot impatiently, but it was obvious that she was not getting the book. She sighed. "So be it."

Ferria uses Hazard Slash on Valincar! 17 Dmg! (INT)

MP: 5/60

Valincar is Poisoned!

Valincar evades Mana Leakage!

Ferria's claymore began to glow green with surging mana. "Finish them!!!" She slashed the phantom right across the torso, the magic causing him to cringe in pain.

Edward nodded in affirmation. His eyes began to glow light brown and the earth began to shake violently.

Edward uses Rumble Quake on the Party! 22 Earth Dmg! (INT)

MP: 51/80

Edward waits.

Zair retreats.

"If things are gonna get all rumbly like this, I'm outta here," he spoke anxiously and leaped into a nearby tree. "I'll go on and inform the client that the mission is a success."

[Rosetta] takes 24 damage!
HP: -21/40
[Rosetta] is KOed!

In the end, nothing could have blocked what came next. As the earth rumbled beneath her feet, Rosetta knew they had lost. The earth cracked, causing her lose her balance and sustain further damage to her wounds. She quickly stabbed her rapier to the ground, grabbing hold of the handle.

This was it. She couldn't keep going on any longer. Rosetta blinked, blood trickling down her face. The Fencer gazed up at their enemies, vision blurring. She then closed her eyes, kneeling on one knee. This was their win. However.

She stared straight back up at them, a warning glint in her eyes. If they were to take the book with them, she swore she would chase them down until she got it back. Rosetta would not lose them again if they were to face once more. She swore it.

Closing her eyes once more, she leaned her weight against her weapon, keeping herself from falling to the ground. She needed to rest for now.

Valincar takes 62 Dmg!

Valincar OVERKILL!

The shear amount of force behind the attacks of the enemies was relentless and Valincar instantly found his consciousness fading away. The clearing was ravaged with many cracks; he could see the elementalist slowly walking back into the jungle and eventually disappearing. His final glimpses were of Ferria slowly walking over to him with a triumphant gait and a malicious and arrogant grin upon her face that reflected the insanity that lied within. She reached down and took the ancient book and glanced at the mysterious runes upon the cover.

"I told you that you should have just handed over the book," she spoke calmly. "This was the result from the very beginning but you just had to put your life along with the lives of your friends at risk by protecting a book that would be inevitably stolen by yours truly." With those words, she turned and leapt into the trees. The leaves rustled wildly as she made her way to wherever she was heading. The book with enough mana to awaken the slumbering gods was now in the hands of evil. Valincar cursed himself for not being strong enough.

And then, he lost consciousness.

The party awakens in a room with walls and a floor made of smooth wood. The room was filled with several beds, some occupied by injured and sick people while others remained empty. Up above, the ceiling was made of wood as well, except there was a ladder on one side of the room leading up to it. The party was in the infirmary in the East Wing of the Visterre Town Hall on the second floor. Up above was another floor with more beds and more sick people who longed for their good health back.

When everyone had been aroused from their resting slumber, a page escorted them to give their report to the Elder of which they did.

Inventory UPDATED!

The party stood before the Elder in the Town Hall Council Room. He explained that they had been found outside the city gates in critical conditions, but thanks to the talented healers at the infirmary, they were able to be saved. He also told them that the city gates were not raised to help them due to trouble in another part of Visterre; monsters had been released within the city and were causing havoc. "We had to send all of our knights to stop those monsters from harming people and ravaging property," the Elder elaborated. "Luckily, we have everything under control now." He took a handkerchief and wiped his balding head.

Valincar stepped forward. "We are glad that the town is safe and we are grateful to you for our lives, however, it is by far not a time to rest," he spoke with urgency. "I have come to tell you that the Grimoire de Origens has been stolen."

A look of immense fear plagued the Elder's face. His eyes widened and he clutched his heart. Several pages rushed to his aid. One of them stood and spoke. "This is horrible news...especially if it made the Elder have an attack like this. Go report to your guild leader; I believe he had something important to tell you guys anyway."

Thus, the party mobilized to the Luz Cascata guild headquarters where their noble leader resided. He was waiting for them in the lobby of the building with another person dressed in summoner's attire. The leader went by only one name: K. He addressed them sharply as they entered. "Word has spread quite quickly of the horrible news." He took a quick glance at the phantom. "New recruit?"

Valincar bowed. "I am Valincar, and I shall henceforth become a full-fledged member of the guild, Luz Cascata," he said, his eyes never faltering. "I do not know who stole the book, but they are extremely powerful."

K sighed in impatience. "We're not useless here at headquarters, you know. The people you fought were most likely mercenaries for hire. We have done some investigating in town and have discovered that the guild that is most likely responsible is none other than our rival guild, Escuridao Pulsante." A few of the other guild members in the lobby stopped what they were doing and threw up curious glances. "However, that should not be your focus right now. Lately, the guild has been getting numerous requests that need to be taken care of. We also need your help on a special request that involves the monster release in town earlier." He turned around. "Go to the guild library and check out the available scrolls; the more help you can offer us, the better. And take this girl with you." He gestured to the summoner. "She says she's become quite impressed with your noble strength. I'm sure she'll be of great help." With that, K takes off into a nearby office to take care of more guild business.

Czeslaw glanced around his current location. He was apparently rescued by these people. He quickly eyed a stand that was currently selling weapons. He set his eyes upon one thing, the beautiful, shining kris that was on display. It gleamed a bright, clean, iron color. He then unsheathed his kris, dulled and boring.

He quickly and relentlessly confronted the vendor of the weapon's shop, quickly asking him how much the 'beautiful piece of craftsmanship' was worth. The man sighed and pointed at the sign next to the kris that read "400 Gold".

He quickly pulled some spare change out of his pocket, slammed his broken kris onto the table, and requested to sell his old blade.

After his exchange, Czeslaw had abandoned his old blade, and sheathed his new 'baby'.

He then quickly eyed yet another shop, he was eager to get rid of the disgusting materials that were placed upon his back. He needed a new robe, badly.

Czeslaw quickly did the same as before, acquiring a new robe.

Czeslaw buys Iron Kris and White Prayer Robes.

600 Gold Lost.

Lily's eyes averted away from the group and rested on Czes. He was getting what looked to be like a dagger sort of thing. It didn't look much different from his old dagger, besides the cleanliness behind it. Regardless, Czes' eyes sparkled with greed as he sheathed his new dagger, or kris as it is so commonly called.

Czes did the same with his clothes, equipping them rather quickly. Lily's mouth curved into a grin and she walked up to him, tapping his shoulder. "You're a snappy dresser." Lily commented, then tapped her feet together. "I'm really bad with handling money, so..." She paused, looking down. She lightly grabbed his sleeve and started rubbing it against her fingers, purposefully touching Czes' in the process. "Could you handle it for me? I need a new bow and clothing you know..." Lily bit her lower lip and looked up at Czes, mustering the cutest look she could.

Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption - Page 13 Empty Re: Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption

Bowing respectfully to the guild leader, Rosetta gave the newcomer a brief glance before turning on her heel, taking her leave. Exiting the guild, she gazed out at the city, eyes staring at nothing in particular. Hand gently touching her weapon, Rosetta suddenly turned, heading toward the Weapon Shop.

She entered, eyes instantly roaming over the selections. They landed almost immediately on the rapiers and she strode forward, heading straight for what had caught her eye. It was clean, sleek and looked like it could hold its own against what was to come. The Fencer unsheathed her current weapon, giving it one last look before reaching out and taking the new rapier. She placed them both at the counter, along with her old clothing. Rosetta ignored the once over the shop keeper gave her.

[Rosetta] buys 1 Steel Rapier [300 Gold].
[Rosetta] sells Chipped Rapier and Leather Clothing.

Finished, Rosetta sheathed her new rapier and immediately took her leave, exiting the shop. She once again gazed out at the city before moving on, heading back to the guild.

"Hmmmm? What's with the gloomy face?"

Eyes widened and Rosetta snapped her head around, turning to face the speaker. She froze, tensing as she recognized the figure. The Fencer twitched, hand reaching for her weapon. The female standing before her rolled her eyes.

"Calm down. It's not like I'm going to attack you or anything," the other stated, crossing her arms. Pitch black eyes stared at the amber eyed girl, gaze piercing straight through her.

"I . . . . apologize, Ryas," Rosetta murmured softly, forcing herself to relax. She still kept a hand on her rapier, however, still cautious. Ryas just sighed before smirking.

"Come," the woman commanded, turning. "Let us take a walk."

Unable to disobey, Rosetta followed. For if she didn't, there was a good chance she would be killed.

Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption - Page 13 Empty Re: Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption

Post by Plattack Tue Dec 15, 2009 7:13 pm

Almair was completely lost, he got separated from the group awhile back, and was just now able to get back into the city. He walked around the shops until he spotted Czeslaw. But that was the problem....

It was only Czeslaw.

He walked up to him and saw that he had new equipment on himself, and looked at the stands, he saw some things that would fit well on him, also. He walked over to the weapon stand and pulled out a sack of money, looking at the Longsword. He unsheathed his sword, and placed it on the counter. He pulled out some gold pieces and handed them to the man.

He walked over to the armor stand and saw the chain mail sitting there. The light was gleaming off of it, he could barely tell what it was. He pulled off his current chain mail and handed it to the man. He grabbed the other one, as well as some gold pieces from the pouch.

He walked towards the rest of the group, after he found them. He only offered one word as he walked away from the armor stand. "I hope that gives you tetanus." He whispered, smiling.

Czeslaw sighed as he glanced at Lily, a slight amount of care in his eyes. "Is there any bow you had in mind?" He sighed as he pointed towards the weapon stand.

"Pick out any one you like, I guess." He blinked at Lily, a slight expression of boredom came across his visage, "Don't spend too much of my money, okay?" Czeslaw held out some of his spare change, waiting for Lily to take it.

"It's been a long while since I last saw you," Ryas chatted as they walked, Rosetta trailing a bit behind her. The raven haired woman seemed not to notice this and continued on. "Last time I saw you, you were traveling with two others. Your brother and that Soul Reaper, right? Evan and Daskar was it? It seems you've all gone your separate ways though."

"There were. . . complications," Rosetta replied quietly, eyes not looking at the woman. Ryas made a sound of acknowledgment before stopping. Rosetta quickly did the same, watching as the other turned her head to look at her.

"You lost." The Fencer stiffened, refusing to look at the woman. Ryas stared at the younger female before letting out a dark laugh. "Pathetic. There's no need to be depressed about such a thing. It happens all the time." At this, Rosetta lifted her head to glare but was stopped when Ryas glared at her first. "And don't give me crap about it being a mission or you failing to protect your friends. Why, because I don't give a shit."

Seeing the irritation in the older woman's eyes, Rosetta wisely kept her mouth shut. Ryas was powerful, far more powerful than she could ever be. One word and she would be struck down faster than one could blink. Rosetta knew full well irritating Ryas any further was not a good idea.

"You will become stronger," Ryas began softly, causing Rosetta's eyes to widen again. It was rare for the other to speak like this. In fact, the Fencer had never heard the older speak like this before. "If you dwell on your past failures, you will never be able to rise up. Learn from this battle. I have faith in you."

"Ryas. . . ." Rosetta whispered, unable to believe her ears. "I-"

"That being said," the woman cut her off, returning to her original demeanor. "Do you still have that connection with your brother? After all, you are twins." And with one final smirk, she disappeared just as Rosetta blinked, causing the Fencer to stare at the spot she had just been standing on.

"I'll become stronger," Rosetta swore, voice barely above a whisper. "I'll become stronger so you can too. Alright, Evan?"

With that thought in mind, the Fencer let out a soft smile before spinning on her heel and walking away. Back toward where she knew her friends were waiting.

Post by Masquerade Tue Dec 15, 2009 7:29 pm

Valincar departed from the guild on his own. He was devastated at how they were so easily beaten. And now, the Grimoire de Origens was in the hands of evil. What could they possibly want with it? Do they truly plan on awakening the gods? The phantom's thoughts were disrupted by flashbacks of Ferria slashing him across the chest with that powerful attack. He shook his head. "Maybe some new equipment would help out," he said drearily as he remembered Ferria referring to his current weapon as "a piece of shit."

He saw some of his fellow guild members throughout town, and when he made it to the weapon shop, he noticed some interaction between Lily and Czeslaw. However, he quickly brushed it aside for a bright and vivacious tome happened to catch his attention. It held within information on the city of Visterre. He found the volume to possess quite a bit of useful information and decided to buy it.

Valincar purchases Traveler's Guidebook!

Seeing no reason to keep his old tome, he sold it.

Valincar sells Decaying Tome!

Heading over to the armor shop, Valincar found some soft robes made of cotton that he instantly fell in love with.

Lily gave a slight jump for joy and snatched the money from Czes' hand with haste. She didn't care much about his reaction, she got him to cave, and that's all she wanted. "I'll take...that one!" Lily told the clerk, who quickly handed over the Longbow to her. She placed the money on the table and placed her old bow on the table.

"So, you're a member of Luz Cascata now, huh Lily?"

Lily jumped into the air, surprised by the voice that emanated from behind her. She spun around, throwing out her fist, aiming at the intruder's head. He, for it was a male, bent back, avoiding the flying fist, instead of grabbing it.

"So now you're hostile towards me? Is that any way to treat an old friend?" The man asked, grinning from ear to ear. Lily glared at the man, her expression unchanged.

"Aster, where have you been these past few years? Leaving me alone in the wilderness. I should be doing more than punching you." Lily snapped at him.

"You don't understand Lily. I did that because you wanted to learn how to use a bow. The best way to learn is secluded practice." Aster looked around, noticing a fair number of Lily's friends. "But I see you don't believe that at all, do you?"

"No. I don't." Lily said, then threw herself at him, arms held out. Aster caught her in an embrace, laughing the whole time. "I missed you." Lily said quietly. "You have no idea what I've been through these past few days."

"The Grimoire de Origens got stolen, you're friends with a phantom, and you got beaten up by three hired mercenaries." Aster sighed, summing up her entire week.

"How did you...?"

"I heard everything from the Elder. Don't think that you're the only ones allowed to speak with him." Aster looked down at the old bow sitting on the table. The clerk reached to pick it up, but Aster called to him, "Don't do that." The clerk stopped and glared at him.

"Don't tell me how to do my job."

"You're going to regret picking that up." Aster warned again, eyeing the bow carefully, as if it was about to explode. Lily looked from Aster, to the clerk, then to her old bow. The clerk simply coughed at him and reached out, touching the bow.

The sound of shattering wood resounded through the store. The clerk was holding his right wrist with his left hand, wincing in pain. An electrical charge could be seen rippling down his hand. The bow, however, looked relatively unharmed by the contact. Aster whistled in amusement, while Lily gave the clerk an apologetic look.

"Sorry...I guess that thing is older than I previously thought..." Lily said slowly.

"Lily, I want to show you something, come with me." Aster said, changing the subject rapidly. He put his left hand on her back and ushered her out of the store, but not before giving Czes a sly wink. Apparently Aster has seen everything that transpired between Lily and Czes earlier.

Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption - Page 13 Empty Re: Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption

Post by Silver Tue Dec 15, 2009 7:54 pm

Sonia watched quietly as the people approached them, her eyes shimmered as they mentioned a tome. Grimoire de Origens, she had heard the news not too long ago, these people had fought to protect it. Her white hair shimmered slightly and her glow was more noticable as the Leader introduced her. She gave a weak fragile smile, and tried to form words. It was hard to speak to these people, but she managed.

"P...Ple...Please allow me..."Her head went to the floor, but she looked back up at Valincar; "Please allow me to help you..."

The Purple and Silver that were normally only complementing her eyes were a bit more visible. She made an attempt at a bigger smile, but only came up somewhat weak. She joined the group's "Leader" or as she supposed and followed him as he went off to the Shops. She stuck close to him, more comfotable with only one person.

"I... My name is Sonia..."She mentioned quietly as he bought some Cotton Robes.

Valincar noticed that he wasn't alone. "Oh, hello there. You must be our new member," he said softly and kindly. She seemed timid enough as it was; funny that she chose the company of a ghost. "My name is Valincar. I, too, only recently joined the guild." He bowed in greetings. "Would you like to accompany me to the guild library? I am going to go collect some Requests as K suggested."

"Of... Of course..."Sonia managed as she walked with the spirit.

It felt strange to be by his side, but it was better than being in a crowd. He didn't seem like the others in the group, and it wasn't just his appearance. He was different from the rest of the group, and it was a comfortable different. She walked with him, copying his pace as they moved towards the Guild Library.

"I... I'm sorry about the book... I find it most noble... that... that you fought to protect it... and... I really want to help..."Her voice was slowly adjusting to having to speak to Valincar.

"So where are we going?" Lily asked. Aster simply looked back at her and laughed, shaking his head. Only then did Lily noticed the uniform Aster was wearing. A perfect green vest was pinned to his torso. The cloth looked flexible and incredibly comfortable. Obviously Aster had been saving up on money lately. He had dark green leather chaps on his legs to match the vest, and a silver brace was attached to his left wrist. He had a dark brown bow resting on his back and a leather quiver by his side. The bow looked extremely durable, and even more so powerful.

"Jealous of my vest?" Aster asked. Lily shook her head with a sigh.

"I want to get rid of these dirty old clothes." Lily mumbled, looking down at her dirty attire. Aster pointed up towards the shop they were headed to. It was an armor shop. Lily's face broke out into a grin, there had to be something she could snatch there!

~Firin' mah lazorz! xD~

Lily placed down the coins on the table and quickly changed her clothes. She now wore a green vest that blended in with the forest. She frowned, thinking this would have been much more useful earlier. But she shrugged the thought off, and placed her old clothes on the counter.

Lily buys Longbow and Hunter's Vest!

-500 Gold

Lily sells Wooden Bow and White Archer's Vest!

Lily smiled at her new clothes, although her new vest didn't have any arm covering, and the circle of bare skin that showed on her torso was more than Lily would have wanted. But it was better than her old clothes. Aster examined Lily with a scrutinizing eye, then nodded his head, as if he accepted her new look.

"Okay, now you have new clothing and a new weapon." Aster said, placing a hand on Lily's shoulder with a smile. "I have to go, my friend is expecting me. And I do not wish to piss her off."

"Whaaat?" Lily groaned, "But you just got here!"

"Alas, for now we must depart, but I swear that we will, someday, mee-OW!" Aster started rubbing his arm frantically, as Lily stormed out of the shop, her knuckles bared, the ring on her middlefinger glinting in the sunlight. Aster gave her an exasperated look, "That ring freaking hurts! Looks like Lily won't ever change. That's good."

~Yes, Lily does have a large bosom. You know why? Because the Atlantic Ocean is damp. xD~

Zero was the last to leave the guild, she thought about how the fight earlier went and couldn't help but feel a bit joyful and bitter at the same time. It was true that it had been quite a while since she was beaten up that badly, but it also made her feel empty that she wasn't able to support anyone at all before being knocked down with only two strikes. But during the entire time she spent thinking about this, Zero didn't realize that she had paced out of the guild and gotten herself quite lost. But a voice snapped her out of her thoughts, an all too familiar voice. She turned her head to see one of the people she wanted to see the least, her older sister Rei. As usual, Rei dressed in a bright white dress with gloves that almost reached up to her shoulders and held a parasol which made her bright silver hair seem more of a gray-ish color.

"Good day my fine sister. Have you come to visit me?" Rei asked.

"Not now...leave me alone..." Zero replied but knew that it wouldn't matter what she said, for Rei was either completely oblivious to the fact that Zero disliked her, or she just chose to ignore that.

"How nice, you really are here to see me." Rei said completely ignoring Zero's response.

"You know for once maybe if you'd just listen then I may not hate you so much!" Zero shouted and ran off toward the marketplace, leaving Rei to go on and on about random crap also oblivious to the fact that Zero wasn't there anymore.

"...it's certainly a beautiful day today. Well, not as beautiful as myself but still, it is a perfect day to tighten the bond between us sisters. In fact, I suspected you would come today and made boiled crabs, lets go have some toget-" Rei continued but stopped when she finally realized that Zero had left, "Eh? Zero, where'd you go?"

When Zero reached the marketplace, she quickly went through both the weapon and armor shop, buying a bit of better quality equipment than the ones she had right now using the little money she had.

Zero buys Dirk and Silent Robes
Total: 550 Gold

Zero sells Chipped Dagger and Stealth Robes

Zero stealthed herself so that she woudn't be seen at all then changed out of her somewhat tattered garments and into her new robes. Then she placed her new dagger in a small pocket in her sleeve and released stealth, placing her old equipment on the counter and waited for the rest of the group. Zero wanted to leave as soon as possible, and hoped that she wouldn't run into her idiot of an older sister again, especially not in front of the others.

Valincar felt his heart torn once again at thoughts of the lost Grimoire de Origens. He could feel the scorn of his ancestors upon him, but he shrugged off the feeling. He didn't want Sonia to have to worry about it. "Yeah, it's my family's duty to protect the book," he replied calmly with a nostalgic smile. "I've protected that book ever since I died. I never thought the day would come that it would be taken away from me. Here I thought I was powerful enough to handle it all myself when in reality the strength was what I lacked, for I had plenty of willpower. Joining Luz Cascata was the best way to ensure that I got stronger. I can feel myself growing more powerful, too."

A genuine smile now graced his countenance. "I'm glad I have friends to help me through this, though. I've learned that you can't do everything yourself." He looked down at the summoner, a serene gaze fixed on her eyes as they approached the library doors. "It is my pleasure to count you as one of those friends." He opened the doors to the library to reveal rows and rows of bookcases to either side. In the middle was a long aisle that led to a rather large circulation desk. "Impressive," he said, trying to cover up his utter excitement at all the tomes stored in the library.

"Yes... it is quite... extensive..."

The young summoner was surprised by the size of the place. She had expected a few scrolls, a shelf or three of books and tome or two. But this, this was amazing, every detail was perfect. The stained oak book shelves stood shined and reflective. It was like this was meant to hold only books and scrolls of perfect quality, nothing less. She moved forward one step and found herself unable to find somewhere to go. Instead she stood very still, trying her best to figure out somewhere to go in this amazing Library.

Valincar took notice of his awestruck companion and laughed slightly. "Perhaps we should try the circulation desk? I'm sure whoever's running this place can help," he advised and took Sonia's hand in his. It was cool and slightly refreshing due to the lack of body heat, for he had none. However, by focusing his thoughts, he was able to physically take ahold of her the same way he can carry books around and whatnot. Leading his partner forward, his head turned involuntarily to the immense oaken giants on either side of them filled with innumerable tomes. He didn't even notice when they arrived in front of the desk.

"Hello?" he called out when he noticed nobody was behind the desk. There were four scrolls laying on the desk. Each one had a stamp that had "REQUEST" and a number on them. "These must be the Request scrolls." He glanced at Sonia. "Shall we take them all? I'm sure the guild could use the help."

Shadow found himself standing in front of the weapon store, shining armors and body-piercing swords were shown like if they were some kind of special trophy. A particularly strange knife attracted his whole attention, the blade was aerodynamically made so that it could fly like a boomerang.
Shadow paid for it, the clerk handed over his just acquired weapon.

He went next to the armor store, all sorts of armors shown like the previous place he went. He glanced at the varied stock, this time he saw an armor made of steel, the carvings on the sides being a nice compliment to its blinding luster.
"Better than this..." Shadow thought at the same time he was handed over his new equipment.

The phantom leaned over slightly and scooped up all four of the scrolls. "This should keep us busy for a while," he said, his voice saturated with contemplation. "They will also provide us with opportunities for us to get stronger, right?" He looked at his timorous friend. "Shall we take these to our allies? It would be best to get started on them as soon as possible." With that, he made his way to the door.

Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption - Page 13 Empty Re: Tales of Alidaire: The Corruption

Post by Masquerade Wed Dec 16, 2009 5:18 pm

The party gathered together at the city gates. All of the Requests had been taken and it seemed logical to take care of the easiest one first, which was Request 01. Valincar took out the scroll, unfurled it, and read the contents aloud:

There are certain rumors floating about that there is some treasure in the basement of the Antigo Ruins. I heard it's some pretty good stuff. Strangely, the basement is devoid of monsters; I've been down there and saw nothing. Too bad I didn't have any Chest Keys with me. I suck at being prepared. And being apathetic doesn't help either. So, for anyone who wants that treasure, I implore you to have at it. ~Michael, Lazy Explorer

With the new task at hand, the party made their way through the humid jungle once more, all the way back to the daunting ruins. They entered with caution this time, only to see the antechamber completely empty. The ruins were eerily quiet, for that matter. The party traveled through the vacant halls until they found the stairs leading downwards into the basement. The descent was dark except for torches on the wall that must have been kept lit through magical means; the ruins were steeped in mana, after all. At the bottom of the stairs, the party arrived in a room lit by numerous torches just like the stairs. Six treasure chests were in the room which must have been the treasure that the Request had mentioned.

Request 01: Treasure in the Basement?

Staring at the large room, Rosetta counted six treasures. They were obviously the treasures from the request. Her eyes narrowed. She didn't like the looks of this. Even if it wasn't a trap of some sort, it was always best to be cautious, especially in a vacant place like this.

Hand hovering over her rapier, Rosetta took her place, keeping a constant look out. Just in case.
