The battle was over as soon as Mason made his move, no point in attacking an already dead target. As soon as it was all said and done, the Festival Goer moved over to the thing, noticing a piece of jelly like goop separate from the blob. Picking it up she smiled and pocketed it.

With the battle seemingly over, Vivi went to go gather the rest of the gelatin mass to take back to the Request Guild of Town Hall. But just as she reached for it, the thing jumped up again, the innards turning a violent shade of crimson. It tackled the festival goer to the ground and jumped up and down on her several times before bee lining it for the desert.

Sitting up and pouting, Vivi looked off in the direction the jello blob had gone and looked to the others. It took seconds before the leader was on her feet and chasing after the thing into the desert. The rest of the party was left to just follow, heading into the sands as well.

The gelatin finally turned to face the rag tag team of children once they were at least half a mile into the desert. It bounced up and down as if it was angry that it was forcing to stop, and then flared up and began to shift. And then suddenly, it took a strange humanoid shape and jumped at the party.

Xin Zhao starts at cell H-5

Again? This creature couldn't possibly think it could stand up to the party after being beaten to a pulp, quite literally too, once already. But the change in form drew the warrior's attention, it wasn't every day you see a giant mass of human-shaped goop, hell, it wasn't every day that you see a giant mass of goop anyway.

"I do hope you prove to be more of a challenge than before, else this will be just as dull." Xin said to the thing and readied his spear.

Lola starts at H3.

Ooh, a chase. Lola took off after Vivi, heading right into the hot, sandy desert without so much as a second thought. Upon stopping and facing their target, however, it was obvious this had been a very, very big mistake. "Oooo....it's sooo hot..." she groaned, shielding her eyes from the sand that was being whipped about by the wind. The fact she was wearing dark colors didn't help her out too much either.

Mason got as close as he could to the cactus wall, intending to blend in with his surroundings, as usual, and attempt to sneak up on the enemy. He ignored the rest of the people there, as usual. To him they were nothing but passing strangers. He was ordered to assassinate this create, and that was exactly what he was going to do. For now.

Walking up to the party, which had already cornered the gelatin into a field of cacti, Akemi let out a long, drawn out sigh. "It sure was a great idea to chase him into a field surrounded by cacti while a massive sandstorm is knocking us left and right." Akemi bluntly stated, not attempting to cover her words, in fact, she wanted the party to hear her. Crossing her arms once more, the school girl's body remained still as her hair wildly shook in the midst of the storm.

Johnny panted after having to run in the hot desert and wiped his sweaty face. It didn't help that there was sand blowing almost violently everywhere. 'I wish this sand would just disappear . . .' But using the nothing to get rid of it would be a waste of energy, especially when they still had a creature to demolish. Ah well.

Lola moves to F3.

The girl was panting now. They had made no preparations to go into such a scorching desert; it was insane. "Must....go on...," she muttered and took a few steps forward miserably as the wind continued to sweep through the area. It was so bleak. Except for the cacti. They had the most beautiful flowers. So...beautiful. She closed her eyes. A long string of shadows seeped out from under her feet and sped across the sands to where a cactus was, weaving between the spines easily until it reached the flower. At that point, the brilliant pinkish and white color of the flower turned to a dark shade of violet and black. It began to emit an aroma of sorts that the winds carried easily over to the gelatin. It was a gas. And even with its sweet smell, it was dangerous. Lola's darkness had turned that flower into a nightshade--a little dark miracle on the sly.

Xin Zhao let out another shout toward the sky, like last time it was loud and incomprehensible. Now with a glare toward the goop thing, Xin Zhao took a leaping step, closing the distance between them almost instantly.

Johnny, though slightly put off by all the shadows, awkwardly patted Lola's shoulder (wiping off more sand in the process). "It can't be that bad . . . right?" It couldn't have been. Sure, it was hot and a bit grimy . . . oh, who was he kidding. The desert sucked. But it was the least he could do in trying to console a friend . . . ally . . . person. Amenable person with whom he traveled with. And tried not to get killed with. There.

Vivi dashed forward, not caring for wind that was practically lifting her off of her feet. Muttering some sort of incantation, she fell back to the ground. Then she took to action, two fireworks appearing before her as she took aim. She suddenly lit the rockets and with a loud bang, they flew over Xin and made their mark.

Johnny sighed to himself and scuffed the sand while he trudged toward the unmoving blob thing. Even when it couldn't move around, he still had trouble getting to it. As he moved past Vivi and Xin, he tried very hard to not to touch either one of them, practically hugging himself thin as he squeezed between.

"Um . . 'scuse me."

He just had to get close enough, then maybe they could get the heck out of this hot desert.

Akemi's patience was growing thin, and she decided to take action. Slowly pacing toward the creature, the sandstorm hardly fazed Akemi's actions. Finally within range of the creature, Akemi's eyes suddenly filled with a fluorescent, purple energy. Within the span of a second, the energy within Akemi's eyes faded away, and four large pillars of pure energy arose around the gelatinous creature.

The pillars gradually increased in size until they formed a wall around the creature and caved inward, surrounding the beast within a coating of anti-magic substance. The substance appeared to cause the creature to lash out and experience sudden jolts of pain, which gradually increased in lethality until the substance faded away, leaving the monster dazed and drained of energy.

In a flash, Mason was directly in front of the beast, not seeming to care about the nearby cacti. He began to run around the beast, setting up some various trip wire traps before skidding to a halt behind the creature and kicking it into the wires and the nearby cactus, cutting it's flesh into tiny little pieces. Mason put away his ample supply of wire and began walking back to his previous position.

The assassination was complete, Mason had succeeded in his objective, but he didn't seem to care. He just remained ever silent, ignoring anyone who was talking to him. A quiet, deadly boy. That's what Mason is.

Taking a few steps forward, Lola realized that the target had shifted in the slithering sands. "Oh no....it got away...," she mumbled to herself miserably as she tried in vain to brush some sand off of her dress. She was starting to sweat rather badly, and she longed for a little drink of water. The heat of the desert was incredibly powerful. They had only been there for a short amount of time, but it was already taking its toll. But soon. Soon they would be able to get out of the dreaded place. So the girl lumbered forward hoping to arrive next to the creature by some odd miracle.

Lola waits.

As the gelatin was felled by the massive onslaught the party had laid down on it, the sandstorm began to die down leaving the group with little left to do. Vivi moved over to the fallen jello, picking up the sand covered remains and slipping it into a jar at her side. Turning back to her allies, she nodded, and began to walk away.

(Use this time to just talk a bit. PM me for Affinity stuff if you have it. I'll continue once I see enough interaction.)

Lola collapsed in the sand, sitting on her knees. It was still blazing hot, even though the winds whipping sand all about had ceased. She needed some water. The sun was high in the sky. The girl's shadow seemed to quiver with life and surrounded her in a aqueous sphere of darkness. She sighed in relief as the cool shadows lowered her already high body temperature, and she found herself able to stand.

"Mwahahaha! The shadows live to serve their queen!" she laughed evilly, though the grin on her face was ridiculous. She hadn't known why she couldn't think of this idea before. "Let's not linger here though," she suggested from inside her sphere. "You guys might die of heat stroke." Though her tone should have been serious, it was surprisingly lighthearted.

Mason moved back towards the cactus, where he previously was and where Akemi was standing. He stared at the cactus for awhile, not doing much of anything. He seemed to be examining the desert plant, but the empty look on his face was hard to read. Mason suddenly reached out with his hand and grabbed the cactus' needles, then pulled them off. His behavior, as usual, was strange, but at least the others might be able to understand him this time. He was taking the long needles off of the cactus for future weapons, as if he needed any more.

Mason didn't seem to mind if the others watched him or not, but even if they were, none of them could tell when Mason had took out his knife and sliced through the cactus. All they could see was a flash of silver and Mason's hand returning to his sheath, where his dagger had been stored once more. After slicing and pulling the needles off the cactus, Mason grabbed the top of the cactus and quickly flipped it over. There was a little bit of water left in the cap.

Mason stared at the cactus juice for awhile, then drank it. He may be an assassin, but he was still careful about heat exhaustion. However, Mason didn't offer any water to the others. Besides, they could get it themselves, why would he need to take care of others? Mason didn't help other people, he killed them, sometimes for profit.

Johnny sighed. Maybe one day he'd be more useful. As of right now, he wasn't really worth much to the others, lacking in any real attack power. His friend . . . person, Lola, was right though. This desert was hot, really really hot. He tugged one arm out from his self-embrace and swiped it across his sweat covered forehead. "C-Can we go now? . . . Please?" No doubt they wouldn't hear him, not pay any attention to him at all, but maybe it would leave a suggestion in their heads. One that said it was a far better idea to just get the heck out of the desert. "Um . . . before something else attacks us?"

"If we have no business here anymore, I am returning to civilization." Akemi scowled, arms crossed and posture unchanging. Her patience had been wearing rather thin with this new group of hers. In fact, the whole idea of being a part of a "monster hunting squad" was extremely unpleasing to Akemi. It sounded much too childish.

What was Akemi doing it for? Well, she needed to make a living. At the time, the only way she could do that was to stand around in a desert and suffer from heat exhaustion. "I am going to receive our prize." To be quite blunt, Akemi had no true motive behind joining this ragtag team of toddlers. She wanted money, that's about it, for the most part. "This hellish desert is pissing me off. Goodbye." Twisting her heel in the sand and spinning 180 degrees, Akemi quietly stormed off toward civilization. Brushing a rather grimy mixture of sand and hair out of her face, Akemi mumbled to herself - nearly inaudibly.

"The reward better be well worth it. This was a gigantic annoyance. Nothing more."

"I agree. This desert isn't the best place to be right now."

Vivi started to walk away from the field of cacti herself, and in a short amount of time, the rest of the party (who hadn't already started to leave) did too. The walk back from the cacti field to town was longer than would have been expected. Maybe it was the constant heat, or the fact that each and every dune looked exactly the same, but it felt like they would never be free of the desert.

But they trudged on, even when the sandstorm began to whip up again, only slowing their progress more so. In time, the party began to notice some traces of town, less dune like areas and more road like paths. But it would still be a while before they made it back.

They were only slowed more when a few tomato looking things popped out of the dunes ahead and started running towards them.

It was painfully obvious what was going to happen next...

Mason starts in cell H-7

Mason planted his feet firmly on the ground, bending his knees low to the ground, his dagger concealed within one of his pockets. The sandstorm was attempting to blind him, but the likelihood of that happening to him was slim. Even so, Mason kept his senses open and observant, and made sure that his reflexes were in top shape. He would need them for this battle.

Or perhaps not. Mason's expression was blank and unreadable, as always.
