Enough power to shatter the sky.  That was what she needed right now.  Raising her sword high into the air, Aeria let out a loud shout and brought it down upon her foe, striking her down with such ease that it was almost pathetic.  Aeria's eyes shifted quickly to Natsumi who was in danger.  To even think that that sorry excuse for a man would strike such a frail young girl...it was unbelievable.  "Silv, I'm counting on you!" she called out to the thief who so happened to be nearby.  He could put an end to THAT scum's worthless life.

Aeria waits.

"It seems you all had trouble assessing who was the greatest threat, and in the end, you found out too late," the cloaked figure said snidely as they deftly wove their saber through the air.  Jabbing at the guard in front of them, they retracted the saber quickly, entering a defensive stance, but this struggle was as good as over.  Once it was, there would be no time to waste.  They would be fugitives.  If things got out of control, there was no doubt that the Rune Knights would be called in to deal with the problem, and a run-in with just one of them was bad enough.  Luckily, to the figure's knowledge, many of the Rune Knights were not present in the capitol at the moment but they still didn't want to press their luck.  In this case, it was much better safe than sorry.

Silvertongue turned quickly at the sound of Natsumi stepping out of the cell and speaking to (or rather, shouting at) the guards. He hadn't quite expected such a reaction to come from the girl, but what happened to the fire caused him to quirk an eyebrow. Was that her doing? Did this child have––seconds later it seemed that unspoken question needn't be answered as the girl delivered a clearly devastating attack.

For whatever reason, the flames did not hurt him when they flew his direction. If anything it felt like being swaddled in an incredibly warm blanket. Had the party not been locked in battle, he would have felt so relaxed. He could not relax, however, for the one of the guards––the arse that somehow stood standing––had made a move to assault his undeclared charge. Silvertongue's blood boiled the instant the man's baton struck the poor girl's face.

Aeria spoke to him, but he paid the words no mind. No. They did not have any meaning at this moment. All that had meaning was the fire now raging in his heart. "Excuse me," he spoke with a deadly quality to his voice––which was now a hushed whisper––as he tapped the stupid guard on the shoulder. The man had few seconds to turn to face the swiftly moving thief, for Silvertongue quickly decked the guy with all the force he could allow. "I won' be 'avin any a that, ya bastard," he spat, watching as the man fell to the ground unconscious.

The second he ascertained the man was well beyond any more struggle, at least for the moment, Silvertongue's eyes returned to Natsumi's smallish form. "My deepest apologies, darlin'," he said softly, bowing his head in his now kneeled position. "I didn' mean for 'arm to come to ya––are ya alright?" he asked, brow creased with concern. He certainly hoped she was and that she still trusted him; escaping with tension between them would put them back a step, especially since this girl commanded such powerful magic.

Natsumi flinched at the blow, and was knocked onto the floor by the second one, which sehe hadn't seem coming. Now her face stung, and the side of her head throbbed with pain. She didn't want this. It hurt. Natsumi sniffed, bringing up a hand to wipe away at the tears forming in her eyes. After a second, she hiccuped a few times, rubbing her eyes with both hands as she tried to ignore the pain to no real effect.

"Hic." Natsumi's shoulders jumped a little as she turned her eyes back up. The other boy was there kneeling by her. He was so nice to her, but why? It didn't matter, Natsumi was only glad that someone actually cared about poor little Natsumi. She hiccuped again, sniffing. "I don't like this," she cried, not bothering to wipe away her eyes anymore. "I wanna go home."

Natsumi waits...and cries. :'(

"That is ENOUGH!" Aeria shouted madly, her blazing aura streaking along until she came to a halt behind the nearby jail guard. She was done watching the abuse of this fragile girl. It was over. Raising her blade, she sliced downwards at an angle, her sword effortlessly tearing completely through the man's torso like butter, her aura only serving to enrage and empower her. Blood erupted like a fountain, and she circumvented the corpse was such speed, raising her shield to defend the young girl from the sight and the rain of blood. A shield could be cleaned but this girl had been through far enough.

"The threat is far from over, you two. I hate that others had to be dragged into this mess, but it's best you stick with me for the time being," she said to Silv mostly. She had no idea how they got themselves landed in prison or what they had planned to do after escaping, but splitting up was a terrible idea at the moment though she was certain that the others had more sense than that. The fact that the cloaked figure decided to remain as such still irked her. Who were they? Their magic was frightening but there was something weird about it...

"Do make haste.  We have no time to waste here," the cloaked figure said briskly before pacing across the chamber and up the stairway leading to the first basement floor of the archives.  Aeria watched the person take off wondering what their plan for escape was because it seemed as though they had one.  They must have known this place well.  Were they a traitor?  Someone who worked for the knights but betrayed them?  Could they trust someone like that with their very lives?  Aeria figured that they hadn't been let down so far.  Sighing, she pursued the cloaked figure but not before addressing the others.

"That mysterious person's right; we shouldn't linger here.  They might be our only chance for salvation so let's stick with them.  The main goal is getting out of here; once we're free, well...you will have safe haven if you follow me to my place," she spoke clearly and tersely to them, breaking off and offering them a small smile at the last part.  She really wanted them to stay with her so she could keep them safe, and maybe they all could delve into the dirt of the Runescryum Knights and find the secret to what was causing the decay of their very world.

Up the stairs she went with new determination blazing in her soul.  The stairwell was dark but upon surging through the threshold, she found herself in familiar territory--the halls of the archives, though this one seemed particularly interesting.  Most of the doors were composed of well-kept iron and locked without a doubt.  It was around this area that she had managed to snag the document that the knights seemed to apt to keep out of the hands of strangers.  She noticed the cloaked figure standing nearby.

"This is the Corridor of Chronicles; the annals of Nagranok history can be found here along with various rare pieces of both fiction and nonfiction.  Somewhere on this floor exists the Hall of Restricted Records.  The best way to get out of here would be to pass through it and reach the stairway up to the ground floor.  The main hallway will be our destination because it'll take us to the lobby and we can exit out the front," the person explained with such proficient knowledge of the layout of the archive that it just raised suspicions even higher than they already were.  "Assuming they haven't set a trap for us..."

"WELL, WELL, WELL.  LOOK WHAT WE HAVE HERE!" a loud, raspy woman's voice echoed throughout the hallway.  "Prisoners dare to escape the bowels of my prison beneath our magnificent collection of tomes?!  Foolishness!!"  A woman accompanied by two jail guards appeared from one direction of the hallway.  She had long curly raven black hair and stunning neon violet eyes, the same color that hemmed her flowing black robes.  Two tomes levitated next to her, one on each side of her thin form.  "There's no punishment left but immediate death."

The cloaked woman armed herself and Aeria followed suit.  The jail guards responded in kind.  It seemed a confrontation was inevitable.

"Lethis..." the cloaked figure muttered inaudibly.

The second she started to cry Silvertongue could have sworn his heart ripped itself into two pieces. Without speaking, he reached out to her, lightly brushing his thumb in circles on her shoulder. "Aww, darlin'," he whispered, pulling her just a little closer to him, "c'mere." Slowly, with the utmost care, he pulled her into his warmest embrace, gently cradling her fragile form against his lightly toned chest. "It'll be alright," he crooned, silently acknowledging Aeria as she spoke to the two of them. "I'll get ya outta 'ere," he added in a hushed voice as the Fighter turned to follow the mysterious figure.

In one motion he scooped the sniveling girl into his arms and kept her close to him. He took a second or two to shift her weight––which admittedly wasn't much––before following suit. The lengthy halls of the archives greeted them, endless arrays of annals and tomes filled the shelves in between the locked doors. Had they not been in such a rush to leave, he knew he would have wanted to sit down with a book or two. One of them had to hold some sort of interesting spell. Before he could really think about just taking one, however, a raspy female voice rang out.

"Lethis..." he had heard the cloaked figure mutter under her breath. His own blue-green eyes fell to the rather nasty looking woman. Whereas the others drew their weapons, he merely looked her up and down, almost as if he were sizing her up––judging her based on some unknown criteria. In the end, he nodded and smiled. "Hey lady," he called out, setting Natsumi down gently, "show me what ya got."

Little did she know what intentions laid locked within his mind.

Natsumi hiccuped again, sick and tired of being hit by mean men in their uniforms. She would have cried even harder if not for the boy and his soothing words. He was such a nice person, Natsumi couldn't help but feel a little safer with him nearby. And when he hugged her, Natsumi blushed, her face turning red, a little from embarrassment, a little from comfort. Natsumi had buried her face in his chest and kept herself there, even after he picked her up and began carrying her somewhere. She didn't care. She was warm, and someone was showing her kindness for the first time in a very, very long time.

She was set down carefully, oh so gently, but she didn't want to be set down yet. Her hand brushed against the boy, but never grasping at him. Instead she let her hand fall back to her side and turned her body forward, ready to walk with him. She always kept looking back up at him though, waiting almost impatiently for the next time he would scoop her up again.

A blazing aura surged to life around Aeria once more as she wasted no time in getting motivated to bring about an end to these fools.  The one with the two tomes must have been of a higher rank than the goons; she spoke with more authority despite how obnoxious it happened to be.  However, it was just as she feared.  The only punishment was death.  Imprisonment was no longer an option especially since they had proven quite easily that they could escape such retribution.  Another thing plaguing her mind was the identity of the cloaked figure.  What had they muttered under their breath?  Aeria had a feeling there was a lot to be revealed soon, and she was rather well-known around her last workplace for her excellent intuition.  She could always be trusted to make judgment calls and speculations.  Such speculations may as well be as good as fact.  For now, she assumed their victory drew nearer and they could once again continue on their escape.

"Gathering of light particles, shine!  Photon!!" the cloaked figure chanted, light swirling about them in glistening trails.  The particles of light heeded her call and congregated around the nearest jail guard.  The grew and grew, the sphere they formed enlarging to frightening size before exploding as was their command.  The spell seemed to greatly startle the guard himself along with his accomplice.  They were used to seeing magic, but not having it used on them.  [b][i]There will be much more where that came from...foolish pawns.  I hope they don't realize what the knights are truly up to.  At least then they would be acting in ignorance instead of doing everything intentionally.

Silvertongue uses Trigger Command: Open on Sealed Doors I6 and J6!

Not getting a direct response, Silvertongue merely stared at the woman with great interest. No doubt she knew her way around a spell. The tomes that floated to her sides clearly indicated that much. If he could just see what she had in her arsenal he could make a decision, reach into her head, and take whatever magic he wanted for his own. She'd have to go through the struggle of learning it all over again––at least, she would if she wasn't going to become incapacitated.

Unable to jump right into the action, however, caused him to direct his current attention elsewhere. Taking the key he had procured earlier in the dungeon, he jammed it into one of the sealed doors to his left, quickly turning it and unlocking it. Quick inspection yielded a leather bag just sitting off behind a table. Perhaps, if he had time, he would go grab that for himself. But not yet. His eyes returned to Lethis.

Her magic would be his first.

Natsumi shied away from the sight of the two guards and the other one who stood in their path. She looked dangerous, and Natsumi wanted nothing more than to crawl into a hole and hide away for the rest of her life. She knew she could fit into most anything, what with how tiny she was. Even her hands were paper thin and weak. Bones justted out of her body at every joint, and the skin clung to her and sagged in certain places. Her chest was flat, and she could feel every depression between her ribs. Her baggy clothing protected most of her body from view, but you could see how malnourished she was by just her face. Hollow eyes, bright with a red fire, but they bulged out of her sockets. Her cheekbones seemed to want to puncture the skin on her face, and her neck was so thin, one of those guards could wrap a hand around it and still have plenty of room left.

Natsumi saw the boy, in front of her now, open the door next to them with a key. Inside there was a small table and, on the other side of it, a little bag sitting by itself. Natsumi looked back at the boy and saw that he didn't move. This would be her chance to find a place to hide from all the fighting. She didn't move quickly, walking made her stomach hurt and her hips ache, she still wasn't used to standing after all these years. But she nonetheless shuffled her way through the open door and towards the table. She would hide under it. That's what she'd do. Then the bad guys wouldn't be able to reach her.

Natsumi hurt too much to smile.

Lethis snarled loudly, eyes widening at the thief who wished to see a display of her abilities.  He would make for a wonderful target.  The tomes around her spun violently as she held her hands up in front of her, silvery mana swirling to form a vortex in front of her, spinning faster and faster and faster...

"Wait a second!  THAT SPELL!!  I know that incantation!!" she shouted, the vortex dissipated instantly as she glared at the cloaked figure.  Her foot tapped against the beautiful tiled floor for a moment before a light in her eyes made them gleam even brighter.  "Well, well, WELL.  Princess, what brings you to the archives this fine night?  And WHY are you helping these prisoners escape?!  WHY ARE YOU HURTING YOUR OWN MEN?!"  Her eyes darted back to Silv and the vortex reformed.  "Oh, and I haven't forgotten about you."

The jig was up.  She didn't expect Lethis to be that attentive--to recognize the spell and incantation as one unique to her.  Sheathing her saber for a moment, she reached for her cloaks and tore them off of her, unwrapping the apparent cloth that was obscuring her face afterwards and watched as it soared through the air.  Considerable lengths of vivid pink hair filled the air as it was freed from its cloth prison.  She wore a beautiful white dress that was made of a firm, durable material and bordered and hemmed with gold pattens.  White stockings covered her legs and led down to aquamarine heels polished to a shine on her feet.  Emerald eyes gazed back at Lethis fiercely.  Her skin was in perfect condition as if she had not been battling at all but her shield knew the scars of war quite well.

"That's right.  I am Elisia Annabeth Cordelle, First Princess of the Kingdom of Aldasrune.  What I do in my spare time is not the business of one of such a lowly position as yours, Second Rank Archive Guardian, Lethis."  Light began to gather around Lethis as the princess prepared her spell.  "Know your place.  The light bends the will of the slave and brings them to their knees!  Photon!!"  The light grew brighter and brighter as it formed a perfect sphere before exploding violently, rattling Lethis's form.

Elisia waits.

In that moment, everything made sense.  To think she had been in the presence of the very princess of Aldasrune this entire time!  And Aeria herself had been so rude and distrusting.  Then again, the princess was being rather suspicious herself but it seemed as though she had her reasons.  What those reasons were remained a mystery and Aeria definitely wanted answers.  Why was she fighting against the knights?  The kingdom and the knights were supposed to be walking hand in hand.  Aeria could see the gleam of defiance in the princess's eyes.  There was something HUGE going on here.  Whatever Aeria stumbled into had turned out to be far greater than what she could have ever expected.  We could definitely use this to our advantage though; she'll be able to get us out of here without a doubt, Aeria thought in relief.  Before it was just a stranger who happened to know the area well, but the princess would know the archives like the back of her hand.  Sticking with her would grant them their largest chance of escape.

Leaving the archive guardian to do her prattling, Aeria took careful aim at one of the nearby jail guards with her rifle.  With them forming a wall between them and Lethis, it would be difficult to reach her.  As such she would mow through the guards until she could get the immense pleasure of getting up close and personal with Lethis.  Her blade ached to run the mage through.

Aeria waits.

Natsumi turned back, only for a moment, and saw that the two line guards had moved forward, blocking the way to the scary-looking woman in the back line. She shivered a little, though not from the cold. There was a chill in the air, Natsumi would admit to herself, but it was not enough to make her shiver. Not when she had finally found her fire again. She felt the fire beneath her bare feet crackle and burn, but it did not harm her. It never did, the fire, all fire, was her friend. The only friend she could trust.

Natsumi shivered again and returned her sights to the table. She could take cover there, at least for a little while. She was only a little girl; she didn't want to get hurt. Natsumi shuffled forward, falling to her hands and knees, getting ready to crawl. She paused for a moment, then ducked her head and crawled under the table.

Silvertongue had been preparing to launch an orb of similar magic from before, but he found himself distracted by the mysterious figure. "A princess?" he mused, chuckling slightly as his mind refocused on the mage who now shouted at him. "What a unique turn of a events," he finished, the magic in his palm shifting into a sphere which he shot at the man standing in front of him. The sphere darted around in a weird fashion before surging through the man and landing just a touch or two away from Lethis. With a smile, Silvertongue quickly leaped into the air and disappeared only to reappear right in front of the raspy tome-weilder. "Well 'ello, love. Still waiting on that stupendous display of magic by the way."

Aeria was forced to look away as Lethis cast her spell; it looked extremely painful and she considered herself lucky not to be the target of such magical strength, but that would not do.  She was their shield; it was her job to take the hits.  Unfortunately, the archive guardian didn't deign stand too close and now she was too far down the hallway to even hit with her rifle.  The malicious aura around her would surround the bullet after it was fired but if the bullet couldn't hit the target, it was a moot point.  Aeria cursed that she hadn't lunged into action sooner; now there was no telling what Lethis was going to do to Silv now.  Taking her frustration and focusing it into the aura, she took aim at the nearest jail guard and loosed the bullet to at least get her off of Silv even if the wooden baton hardly hurt him at all.  It would be one less annoyance to deal with for sure.

Elisia moves to F7.

"One moment and I will be able to assist you; the name of the game is staying alive until the spell is channeled," Elisia said as she marched forth fearlessly, placing a hand on Silv's shoulder to get his attention.  "I haven't the slightest idea what you did to land you here but you will not be executed on my watch."  That said, she began to pray, light swirling around her once more with a small elaborate shining glyph appearing below her on the tiled floor.  "Quickly, light surge into the wounds of the broken!" she chanted, the light getting thrown into a tizzy, lashing out and lapping at Silv's wounds, aching to mend them but the formless light had not the power to do as such yet.  Elisia channeled as fast as she could knowing full and well what Lethis was capable of.  The next spell was going to hurt just as much as this one had.

"You may want to brace yourself or flee."  Perfectly sound advice.

Elisia initiates Recover! (1/2)

The, admittedly, cocky smile that had been plastered on the young thief's face swiftly disappeared as the woman shot a huge burst of mana at him. Unable to dodge it as he would have liked, he just sorta sat there and took it like a man. Only, not really. A definite yelp escaped Silvertongue's lips as the gigantic shell of energy barreled into his chest, effectively knocking him over and the air right out of his lungs. The assault, however, had not ceased, for moments later (as he struggled to get standing again) the damned pawn the party had left alive came and struck him with his baton.

"Jeez," Silvertongue huffed, stifling his need to catch his breath. "Not quite my day, eh princess?" he chuckled as lightly as he could manage. "Didn't really plan ta croak 'ere," he added after she spoke to him, reaching into one of the many pockets under his cloak. "If stayin' alive's the name a the game, then so be et." Pulling an herb from the pocket he munched it, ignoring the bitter taste on his tongue. His eyes fell on Lethis.

"I 'aven't forgotten 'bout ya, love. Promise," he sneered with a wink.

Natsumi didn't seem to either notice or care that the table above her had begun to catch fire. She would be fine anyway, fire didn't hurt her. It never once did, and it never will. Natsumi crawled under the table a little closer to the bag until she could reach out and snatch it up. She was curious to see what was inside, but first she situated her small frame so that she could sit upright under the table. Her body was small enough for her head to only lightly brush against the top of the wood.

Natsumi opened the bag up, peered inside, and sent her hand down into the depths in order to retrieve what had been hidden there. She was a young child, ever more so because of her stunted growth, both physically and mentally, so she could say for certain that she loved surprises. She barely even noticed the others fighting or getting hurt, she was much too engrossed in keeping herself safe. She didn't want to get hurt.

Aeria moves to E7 and shoves Silv out the way.

"You'll thank me for this later," Aeria grumbled as she settled into place, knocking Silv aside as gently as she could after having pushed rather roughly past the princess.  This was a matter of life and death; they would have to understand.  She raised her rifle and took aim at the rather powerful mage.  Even though this woman wasn't of the highest rank, she possessed some amazing magic, and as much as Aeria didn't want to be the target, she knew she had to be.  She had the fortitude to withstand it; the others did not.  She was to be their shield, to ensure that they lived to see another day.  To take their pain.  To exact retribution.  The gunshot echoed through the hall as Aeria fired at her intended target, watching as the malice-coated bullet lodged itself inside Lethis.  She could already see the effects of it taking over the woman's form.  Aeria breathed a sigh of relief.  I surely hoped that worked, Aeria thought to herself solemnly as she felt the aura surrounding her slip away and she appeared normal again.

"Recover!" Elisia called out the name of her spell at the peak of its channeling, watching as the light soared forth and surrounded Silv in its embrace.  The wounds were rather major but they did as well as they could to sow up the most devastating of them leaving Silv in much better condition than he had been at the very least.  "Lethis, your madness has plagued the knights for long enough!  Your delusions of power are to come to an end this day; there will be no mercy for you!" she shouted at her apparent underling.  The princess she once served was now to aid in striking her down.  Elisia felt a sour taste in her mouth forming but she had to ignore it.  There was something seriously wrong with the knights and the sooner she could weed out the problems, the sooner things in the kingdom could get back to normal, granted there wouldn't be a kingdom for much longer if the world kept decaying the way it was.

Elisia waits.

"Oof!"

Okay. That hurt.

Pulling himself to his feet once more, Silvertongue practically fell right over as Aeria shoved him out of the way to take fire at Lethis. "Oi!" he groaned, leaning against the wall to try and catch his breath while Elisia's light started to mend his wounds. "I'll let ya handle that, lass," he breathed shallowly, "I can't take much more." Thankfully even he could notice the malice-covered bullet having its effect on the woman. Perhaps now would be the best time for him to do what he'd been itching to since the woman became an obstacle.

Silvertongue moves to A8!

He strolled up to Lethis rather casually, ignoring the fact that his side was still screaming at him. "That's some magic ya got, love," he said with a chuckle, crossing his arms over his chest and wincing slightly. Those magical bullets had really done a number on him. "I'm afraid, however," he added shortly, uncrossing his arms, "that ya got some problems in yer 'ead." With a surprising burst of speed his hands found purchase on Lethis' temples. "Dun worry, I'll fix et," he sneered, magic forming around his finger tips before drilling into Lethis' head.

No doubt pain surged and filled her head in those first moments, a burning sensation firing its way through every synapse of her brain. The magical needles left every inch of her mind bathed in agony as they drilled deep into the confines of her memory. Searching. Silvertongue's fingers stayed pressed to her temples as the magic pushed aside memories and useless information until finally they found purchase on her magical knowledge. At this the burning sensation stopped and Lethis would no doubt feel paralyzed––Silvertongue just smiled, the different incantations swirling in his head as he looked through each spell the raspy woman had learned. Tempted as he was to steal the two blasts of energy she had just battered him with, a different spell soon settled in front of him and he nodded.

Yes. That one looked good.

At this the magic wrapped around the thought and began to retract outward, retreating from her brain quicker than it had entered. The pain returned with its flight, however, this time Lethis would undoubtedly feel the iciness of a bitter wind spreading throughout her, filling more than just her head. And when the spell had reached his physical hands once more, the very memory of the spell vanished, leaving behind an unnatural emptiness. No longer could she cast a spell she hadn't even shown to her enemies yet. It had simply vanished.

"There we go, right as rain!" Silvertongue chirped maliciously.

Silvertongue uses Trigger Command: Steal Magick! on Lethis!

Natsumi found the glittering object inside and her eyes grew ten times their normal size. Such a brilliant light...she took care to put the small jewel into a spare pocket, the thing just small enough to fit. She would treasure the jewel for as long as she could. But why would anyone just leave something like this laying about? It did not make any sense, but thinking about it only gave Natsumi a headache.

The table then collapsed on top of her in a pile of broken wood and ash, covering Natsumi head to toe in the white dust. She coughed and tried to swat away the ash from her face, but to no avail. It was sticking to her now. Natsumi shook her head vigorously, trying to get the ash away, but that only ended up mixing the ash in with her long hair. Heavy and covered in a fine layer of white, Natsumi stumbled to her feet and walked back the way she came. There was no use hiding here anymore, now that the table was gone.

Lethis let out a bloodcurdling scream that could have very well alerted every knight and guardian in the archive.  "WHERE IS MY SPELL?!  The beautiful rose reveals its hidden weapon in the morning light and drains the life essence from its very form with no hope of escape!  Binding Thorns!" she chanted, trying to channel her spell only nothing happened.  A violet aura surged around her and she closed her eyes, words flowing from her mouth only they seemed to be of a different language, completely incomprehensible.

Deflecting the guard's blow with great ease, Aeria lunged forward, rifle back on her back and sword in hand.  Lethis was up to something terrible, not pleased with whatever Silv had done to her which from her ranting, it seemed that he stole her magic.  Was such a thing even possible?  This was his ace in the hole?  Even still, it seemed Lethis wasn't going down without a fight and she couldn't let her cast whatever spell the guardian was channeling now.  It was time for a blow that could shatter the very sky itself, her blade already cutting through the air, covered in a powerful aura before coming into contact with the frail mage chanting her unknown spell.  Blood spattered everywhere and ran down the blade.  Aeria retracted it quickly and entered a defensive stance though she knew if she didn't succeed, her shield would not be able to contain the magic.  She prayed briefly that everyone would be okay.

Elisia attacks Nance!  3 Dmg! (ATK)

Out of mana, Elisia dreaded what she would do now.  What would she do if one of the others fell into critical condition?  The light would not be there to heal them.  Sighing heavily with a large burden upon her shoulders, she dodged to the right and lunged into the guard with her saber.  She was rather adept at swordplay but lacked the strength to do significant damage with it.  She knew she had to rectify that somehow.  If she could not build the physical muscle, then perhaps she could find a way through magic, something she knew quite well.  The only sad thing is that she did not understand why she was so adept at magic as she was, or even why she knew as much swordplay as she did.  Her memories were lost to her, granted that wasn't something she was supposed to go around telling anyone.  There was a long story behind this particular princess, but she shook her head endeavoring to stay focused on the task at hand.  With Lethis screaming, there was no doubt they would run into one of the Rune Knights and that meant they were going to be in serious trouble.  She hoped they were ready for a valiant struggle because if they failed, they would not live to see the light of day again.

Silvertongue snorted as the woman freaked out, laughing quite audibly as she tried in vain to cast the spell he had just stolen from her. "Now yer just as daft as that guard from earlier," he managed between fits of laughter, holding his stomach as he made his way over to the stupid guard that somehow remained alive. The thief's giggling, however, came to an abrupt end when the mage started muttering in an incomprehensible language––he had seen this preparation spell while he was combing through her memories, and knowing what would follow caused him to halt in his tracks.

"Sorry, love," he stated fiercely, firing off another spirit orb which disappeared through the wall. "I can't 'ave ya castin' that 'un," he muttered, ever hopeful that he had interrupted her and that the monstrosity that was Curse Aura wouldn't come to pass. Not in these halls.

Natsumi moves to J-6

Her path of fire was still warm to touch, and when she stepped into a new ring, the fires flared up around her, granting her their power. It was an exciting thing for Natsumi, after having been so long without letting herself go, Natsumi was finally able to relax and enjoy the warmth of her own breath. No matter what happened to her now, she was free. Finally free. They couldn't burn her for being a witch. One does not simply burn fire itself.

Natsumi was reminded of a story she once read when she was younger. This was long before she had first discovered her powers. It told a story of the great phoenixes that once populated the world. Phoenixes were said to be immortal beings, but even they could die, the book said. But when they reach their natural end, they take their own self to the flames and are reborn in ashes. Natsumi, covered in ash, felt much like a phoenix rising from its ashes.

Aeria moves to B7.

Aeria raised her shield to block the blasts but they were exceedingly powerful sending her staggering backwards.  Her fiery gaze landed on the mage in awe.  If there was one thing she had to appreciate about this woman, it would be her strength.  She was strong enough to keep all of the escapees at bay but her time was drawing to a close.  Just as she thought that, a dark cloud obscured her vision making it extremely difficult to see.  She waved her hand at it as if expecting it to disperse but it remained intact.  This was bad.  Taking a deep breath, she lunged forth with sword at the ready, aiming a strike at what she suspected was Lethis, but with the cloud in the way, there was no guaranteeing that her attack would be successful.

Elisia moves to E8.

Another successful hop step and a rapid jab with the point of her saber.  Sadly, the weapon was hardly having any effect on the jail guard, and Aeria's malice kept the woman drawn to attack her.  She noticed that Aeria was having some sort of problem.  Did Lethis's magic have an averse affect on her?  The black cloud was disheartening; if only there was a way to dispel it!  Elisia clenched her fingers tightly around the hilt of her saber.  There wasn't much she could do.  She was a princess and yet felt so powerless.  Perhaps princesses weren't supposed to be powerful, but Elisia thought otherwise.  Not only should she have the mental prowess, but the physical might as well to lead a country.  How could she call herself queen one day knowing that she was an easy target?  She could not let that happen.

Natsumi moves to I-7

Natsumi stepped forward again, coming back out into the hallway where she had left the others. She didn't know any of them too well, but the one boy was nice to her. They were all still fighting, and one of the guards was still left standing, attacking as he pleased. The fire flared around Natsumi's body as she felt heat rise within her own blood. These were the very same guards that threw her into prison. Into her dank and cold cell for five whole years. Had it really been that long? Natsumi could hardly remember the days passing by, but before she knew it she was finally being set free.

And now, she would let herself go. Go free, with fire that would rain down from the sky. Natsumi took in a deep breath, some of the fire around her entering her mouth as she did. When she exhaled, she roared, blazing fire flying from her jaws in an emerald green, bathing the hallway with the glorious fire. Natsumi could hardly see past her own flames, and the heat felt so intense. It was a good feeling, to have fire so close to her heart.

Natsumi uses Dragonsbreath towards H-7! 10 Int Fire DMG! Chance of Burn! All cells touched by Dragonsbreath turn to Burning Cells!

"Oi! Love!" Silvertongue called, one finger twisting in his ear as if to try and assuage some phantom pain caused by Lethis' screaming. "Chill out, alright? No one wants ta 'ear that damn screaming," he said, annoyance thick in his voice. Forget that she would wake up the entire damn castle, he just didn't want to have to put up with that horrible rasp of hers. Did she not realize how grating her voice was? Clearly not.

Turning his attention away from the woman, as she had gotten out of range, his sights landed on the pathetic underling who had somehow managed to remain alive. Quickly deciding that he had had enough of the little man's meddling, Silvertongue pulled a miniature tome from the inside of his cloak and opened it to the only non-blank page. Lethis' old spell now sat within the confines of the strange book. "Nature thirsts for revenge against the wicked, ensnaring her offender in the tightest embrace; may blood sate her hunger! Binding Thorns!" he chanted, reading the spell right off the page and watching as thorns of his own creation wrapped around the man.
