"Everything has a Purpose Ryas, just attack the thing..."

Chris held position, still looking at the Carriage creature. It was true, Clara's move had been a big burden. But the Pianist must have thought of something everyone else hadn't. They would just have to attack the thing and hope for the best.

Chris waits!

"Just attack, I think you'll find the effects helpful..."

Clara picked up her music, playing a hearty battle song. The tune drifted to her allies and revitalized them. It built up thier strength and defenses, the energy of the song building. She continued playing, the song at an all time high. As she came to an end, she knew the effects were at thier full.

Corlin started turning its wheels again and Trinity imagined the pain she would be feeling. She raised her keyblade in defense as she heard the thing take off. She closed her eyes and when she opened them, she was lying on the ground, pain coursing throughout her body, especially in her legs.

Trinity remained on the ground, her legs inoperable. She sighed. "You may be right about me dying, Ryas, but you're wrong about the big picture." She closed her eyes. "I would do anything to protect my friends. And by your words, I'm guessing you wouldn't?" The corners of her mouth turned upwards into a smile as her battered body lay there in the grass. "I'm starting to sound like Alice now," she said and chuckled, only to end up coughing up blood.

Trinity waits.

Kazega looked away as the giant crashed into her friend. In her state, there was nothing she could do. It hurt her heart to know she was useless, but she would not give up hope. That monster's days were numbered...hopefully.

Ryas sighed, rubbing her temples. "Friends, huh? Well, wouldn't that be a nice prospect." She said this bitterly, as if the very words make her want to puke. "But, seeing as how I'm not you, I probably wouldn't understand."

"Then again, why would we try to?" Tenkai suddenly spoke, eyes on the carriage. Ryas shrugged. "And to answer your question, no. We wouldn't."

"Hm," Ryas didn't deny it. She really wouldn't, anyway. "The most I can do is back you up. Everything else. . . ." She trailed off, hand glowing. It didn't matter if it was weaker due to Clara's song.

[Ryas] casts Heal on [Trinity]. Potency is halved due to Rock. Heals 15% of the target's Max HP.
MP: 30/50

"Can you move yet?" the Witch asked the Shadow Assassin. Tenkai shook her head.

Chris sighed, knowing they were screwed until Clara's song wore off. The worst part was that Trinity was the only fighter able to damage the thing. But even then she suspected not much Damage would befall the creature. She moved and lowered her head.

Chris moves to J7!

Clara's hopes dropped dead as Trinity was hit and immobilized. She couldn't even bring herself to play another tune. A few tears rolled down her cheeks. She sat with her head in her hands.

Trinity frowned. "Well, I guess it's better to know how little you think of us early on, right? It's especially good to know that I can't rely on you to help me out of a situation that would cause you harm." She closed her eyes. "If that's the case....," her voice trailed off and she said nothing more, just lied in the grass with her eyes closed.

Trinity waits.

Still extremely tiny, Kazega was becoming frantic. She heard the sound of the monster on the move again. Her small body was knocked to the ground as the earth rumbled unnoticeably to the others, extremely obviously to her. If she could get knocked down by a usually unnoticeable tremor, there simply was nothing she could do.

Kazega waits.

Chris continued to hold position, feeling the effects leaving her body. She sat in position, laying against the tree. She couldn't do anything, and the others were in as bad a shape as she was.

Clara moved off her seet and buryed her head in her hands. She wished she could shrink down an make this all go away. But after seeing Kazega shrink to a spec, she didn't want to shrink. She just wanted everything to go away. She got back on her seat and continued to cry.

"Sorry for disappointing you," Ryas said, looking away from Trinity. She had a feeling something was going to happen once they finished this. She mentally sighed. "Can you move now, Tenkai?" As she asked this, her hand still had its bright green glow.

[Ryas] casts Heal on [Trinity]. Potency is decreased due to Rock. Heals 15% of the target's Max HP.

"Yeah," was the Shadow Assassin's answer. She instantly began to move, heading straight for the carriage.

[Tenkai] moves to [G-5].

She stopped. Staring at the carriage, Tenkai suddenly whipped out a hand at it. At first, it seemed like nothing but then she pulled and the carriage instantly felt something wrap around it. Ryas' eyes widened, immediately recognizing what was wrapped around the creature.

"Steel strings. . . ."

Tenkai smirked under her mask, eye gleaming. Suddenly, she dashed forward, claws flashing. She cut into the pumpkin carriage, running around it with her claws still in it. She then pulled them out and leaped on top of it, cutting into the roof. As she leaped off of it, the Shadow Assassin slashed downward, slicing the thing at its side. She backed up, eye narrowing. She suddenly blurred before her image stabilized.

There was a moment of silence before the pumpkin carriage seemed to be slashed by invisible blades, the damage done making it look like a complete wreck.

[Tenkai] uses Wired Constriction on [Corlin]. 58 ATK DMG. 8 hits.

"Seems you got some of your abilities back," Ryas said slowly. Tenkai smirked.

"It seems I have."

"I guess it was good for something," Ryas mumbled, looking at the thing that was once something that resembled a pumpkin carriage. Now it was just garbage. "Well, I guess we got lucky that you were able to move again, Tenkai."

"Hm," the Shadow Assassin acknowledged the hidden compliment. She knew the Witch long enough to sense these things. "This should be the end of our trip through the cemetery." Ryas shuddered.

"Ugh. And I actually forgot where we were too," she mumbled, glaring at the tombstones. "Let's just get out of here now."

Trinity stood up suddenly, her body surrounded in a slight white aura. She gazed out at the wreckage that was their enemy, but her attention quickly turned to Ryas. "Stop." With that one word, a strange force changed the atmosphere of the cemetery to tense instead of creepy. Her voice carried more authority. She thrust out her arms to either side of her and two keyblades flashed into existence: the Star Seeker and Kingdom Key, one in each hand.

Kazega walked up to Trinity, awestruck by the two keyblades. "Trinity, we are weary from battle. Let us at least rest first." Her words were kind and true, but Trinity paid no heed to them.

"Who is weary here? There will be time for rest, but there is a disturbing matter at hand here that needs to be dealt with." She pointed one keyblade at Ryas. "You need to be put in your place, for your heart does not entirely reside in light." She closed her eyes and opened them to reveal a fierce glare. "I challenge you to a duel, Ryas."

Kazega was shocked. "You cannot be serious, Trinity. She is our ally. She has been helping us all this time," Kazega said pleadingly, her voice expressing more innocence than before.

Trinity turned and smiled to her partner. "I know what I'm doing, Kazega. She clearly stated that in a situation in which an ally is distressed and saving that ally would cause harm to her, she would do nothing. I cannot have an attitude like that on a team where the willingness to aid allies in all situations is critical." She turned back to Ryas. "What's it going to be?"

Ryas stopped. She then frowned. After a moment, she sighed and turned around.

"Yeeeeeeaaaaahhhhh, about that duel," she began, rolling her eyes. "Sorry but I'm rejecting it." Tenkai raised an eyebrow. "See, I'm tired. We all are. We've been under a lot of stress lately too. What with all the battling against Heartless, Nobodies, that random pumpkin carriage."

Tenkai nodded in agreement. She didn't say anything, however. This was beginning to get interesting in her view. Her eye glinted in anticipation. Ryas saw this and her face and eyes immediately became blank.

"And you know about the light thing?" she continued, voice completely and utterly toneless. It made her sound almost dead. Tenkai narrowed her eye. "Of course I'm not entirely in the light. Nobody is. And there are some things people can't do. We're people. We have our flaws, just like you have yours." She paused. "If you want to change me, force won't help your cause at all."

"But light will always be there to guide you!"

Clara quickly put a hand to her mouth, she hadn't meant to blurt out anything. Maybe it was just being away from Ariana too long, but she knew what she said was right. She put her hand away from her mouth, taking a deep breath. She had the group's full attention now, and it was now or never to set them straight.

"True light sleeps deep in darkness. Ryas may not be without darkness, but that doesn't mean she doesn't have light. Even in the darkest hearts light is still there. Even when the light is dim, any of those hearts will push away the darkness."

"She speaks the truth..."

Chris spoke quietly, not looking at any particular group member. As the area fell silent she looked up. She faced Trinity, staring her down, a very serious aura coming from her. Her lips barely moved as she spoke, but the words had power.

"Flaws are not darkness... no matter what they happen to be."

With that she turned and walked down towards the path leading to the next area. She turned back, the most visible feature being her silver glasses. Even from her distance, her voice still carried with great power.

"Let's go..."

Trinity banished her keyblades in a flash of light and walked forward to the cavern entrance, but she stopped in front of Ryas. "You do have wisdom, Ryas," she said more gently, but the unyielding reprimand still lay thick on her voice. "I cannot change you through force, though it would be easier. I will just have to hope that the light shines through the darkness covering your soul. Otherwise, you may as well not be on this team."

Kazega approached sullenly, but ignored the two and kept walking. She heard Trinity's words, but paid no heed. She simply couldn't. The tension was too much to bear.

"I won't have you traveling with us only to abandon us in the end," she spoke, no emotion in her voice now which made it that much more frightening. A thought popped into her head and now genuine curiosity permeated her voice. "Answer this for me, though: If you don't consider us your friends and you don't particularly care for us, then why are you even here? Why not handle things yourself?" She held a hand up before Ryas could respond. "Just think about it for now. It isn't a question you can answer straightaway. Let's just move on for now."

As she reached the entrance to the Dragonscar Passageway, she turned and faced the group, her eyes specifically trained on Clara. "Let me tell you this, Clara. You won't be saying that when your delicate life hangs in the balance, and Ryas is the one you're left to depend on, but instead of risking harming herself, she abandons you and leaves you to die, you will see that your views are naught." She sighed and frowned with shame. "I'm not known for meanness, but....." Her voice trailed off. "I can't deny you the truth, Clara. I'll hold strong to the light, and you will hold strong to the light. Just don't expect anything from her." She pointed at Ryas.

With another sigh, she lowered her arm and disappeared into the darkness of the passageway without saying anything. Right now, all that mattered was getting to Benevolentia. Nothing more.

And she had done it again. Ryas couldn't help but feel a little smug. It was almost too easy. She stifled a laugh. Soon, the girl would realize that there are some things people can't do. And that light. . . . well, that would be for another time.

"You should stop displeasing people," Tenkai said quietly, only for Ryas to hear. The Witch just shrugged.

"Blah, I'm used to it anyway," she drawled, crossing her arms. She frowned. "Wait a minute." Ryas snapped her head at the Shadow Assassin. "Why the hell did she bitch at me when you're the most likely to try to kill us in our sleep?" Tenkai blinked.

"I wouldn't do that," she denied, smirking slightly under her mask. Ryas snorted. "Then again, I suppose I would." The Shadow Assassin paused. "I suppose it's because I don't show my true intentions. Unlike you." Tenkai's eye seemed to glow in amusement. Ryas scowled. "You don't have to worry. I don't plan on killing any of you. Yet."

"You won't be killing anyone," Ryas hissed lowly, glaring. "Just like me, you lost your powers upon leaving our world. And by the time you get it all back, you won't stand a chance against these people." Tenkai raised an eyebrow as if to ask if the Witch really believed that. Ryas didn't answer and turned away, stomping off.

Tenkai stared after her before letting out a small laugh, whispering softly to herself. "You pretend to be neutral but the truth is that you care so much it hurts." A dark look appeared in her eye. "This is why you'll always be betrayed Ryas. This is why you'll always be killed by the one you care most about." She began following the Witch. "Just like Carol."

"You may have lost faith in others but I have not!"

Clara called as she disappeared into the passage, her trees and organ disappearing. She wasn't liking how things were turning out, especially with Trinity's new attitude. It seemed everyone else was getting along fine and hadn't changed at all. But Trinity, it was like she had covered up everything and was now making her true personality evident.

Chris sighed and disappeared into the passage, a trail of energy following her. She didn't realise what she had gotten herself into when she agreed to help them. If everything else was to go this way, she would lose her last nerve in a matter of hours.

"Please get me through this..."

The party, in dire straits, progressed into the passageway. There were crystals lining the walls of the massive passage, but they only provided a very dim light. The passage seemed to go on into complete and utter darkness. What lied before them would be nothing but surprise hidden in the shadows. Screeching came from above as several Heartless shaped like bats swooped down along with three other bat-like creatures with menacing eyes and wings that looked like they were made from silly putty. Amongst the chaos, the sound of drilling could be heard, but in the darkness, there was no telling what it was....

"Prepare yourself, guys! We're surrounded!" she exclaimed while summoning her keyblades. The momentary light yielded a horrid sight; the party was surrounded by echo gliders and Hook Bat Heartless. Along with this motley crew was a Driller Mole Heartless, its crazy eyes signifying confusion, though it didn't need eyes in the darkness it dwelled in. Regardless, they would all have to be taken down.

Phase 02-E: Intimidation

Location: Dragonscar Passageway - Entrance (Altinor Side)

Objective: Defeat all enemies!

Atmosphere: Cavern Darkness (20% chance of an ally attack missing)/ Dim Light (Ignores Cavern Darkness if in an adjacent cell to a Dim Light Crystal)

With keyblades at the ready, Trinity stared down the Heartless in front of her. "Shall we shed some light on these guys?" she asked aloud. The bats seemed to screech in an offended manner, their wings flapping violently.

Kazega starts at G2.

Kazega held her fans out. She knew flying enemies would be used to the numerous gusts and gales that blow through the tunnel, so her wind attacks would be pointless, however, she still had ideas floating around and the strength to execute them. "We will bring them to the light," she responded to Trinity kindly.

Ryas nearly gagged at the lines Trinity and Kazega spoke, making sure to do it where they couldn't see it. Tenkai herself just raised an eyebrow, looking amused. Well, as amused as one could look a a mask covering half their face and an eyepatch hiding their right eye.

"Uh, yeah. Totally," the Witch quickly said, taking her place on the battlefield.

Tenkai rolled her eye.

[Ryas] starts at [G-3].
[Tenkai] starts at [H-4].

Clara wasted no time, rushing over to a nearby crystal and summoning her organ. She wasn't about to be left defenseless and seperating the party. She warmed up and started to slowly play the intro to her Nature song.

"Let's finish these pesky creatures off!"

Chris starts in H2!

Chris ran to the otherside of the cave. She didn't know why but she felt these things would be much easier than previous enemies. She focused her energies, starting to light her way. Of course it wasn't much help, so it wouldn't prove effective. But it was something.

Trinity raised a keyblade and pointed it at the strange Heartless with the drill. "Time to test out some new magic," she stated simply. "I think this is the party where I surpass Ryas," she added and smiled slightly. A beam of light burst from the keyblade and surged right through the Heartless causing it to tip over.

Kazega tilted her head slightly. "But Trinity, you have to learn Water, Cure, and at least power up one of your skills before you become as good as Ryas." She raised her fans.

Trinity looked down at the ground. "I know," she said a bit reluctantly. Magic wasn't really her specialty anyway. But it did help to have someone else capable of casting it on the team.

With her fans raised, Kazega began waving them creating a gale around herself, one that would provide her with additional strength to subdue the foes.

Ryas rolled her eyes, focusing her attention on the Heartless.

"If there's anything you surpass me in battle, it would be strength," she said, cold mist gathering around her. Instead of an icicle forming beside her, however, ice formed underneath the enemy. Ryas flicked a finger up and suddenly, the ice spiked, piercing at the Heartless.

"I do believe it's time to try something new out," Tenkai murmured, stepping forward next to one of the dim lights. Her eye glowed eerily, takes it the light and she counted the enemies. Three was perfect.

[Tenkai] moves to [I-4].

She suddenly slammed her palm on the ground, the sound echoing throughout the dark tunnel. There was a thick silence before a light appeared underneath the Shadow Assassin in the form of a ring. It grew, larger and larger. The Heartless caught in the right seemed to freeze, unable to move.

Tenkai lifted her hand, standing up. She fitted her claws and flexed them. After a moment, she smirked and thus, began her assault on the immobile enemies. It was brutal to watch as the helpless Heartless was cut into over and over again.

[Tenkai] uses Target Field on [Biln], [Yorlan], and [Zaernn]. 20 ATK DMG. 15 hits. Hits are randomized. Added Effect: Burn.

"Ouch. . . ." Ryas muttered as she watched the attack. Seeing the empty space the Shadow Assassin left, she made her way toward it.

Chris moved away from her position, the aura following her. She focused, squinting her eyes at a creature. Energy started to swirl and build before she shot it at the Heartless. It hit just as the Icicle pierced the creature.

Clara finished her song, knowing that Ryas most likely wouldn't move. She picked up her song, playing faster until trees burst forth. She ended in a quick halt, looking around and wondering what she should do next.

Chris fell to her knees, unable to take the pain from the attacks. She looked up at the others, blood leaking from a gash on her forehead. She smiled, her eyes giving off a slight glimmer.

"Forgive me... I wasn't able to help..."

She then fell over, her breath coming to a halt. As it did her life slowly floated away, the Psychic Energy following.

Clara realised her song hadn't been much help. In fact it was proving to be more of a burden. She sighed and started to play a hearty song, it's sound building. It didn't sound as good due to the cave walls, but it's effects were all the same.

"Wow," Ryas said blankly, staring at her busted up doll. "Two people in a single turn. That's not funny." Tenkai frowned, flicking off the blood that decorated her arms. Sadly, most of it had already soaked into her clothing so it didn't do much good.

"Annoying," was all she said as she attacked one of the Heartless.
