The demon grunted rapidly, sucking in air trough its large mandibles. Its excellent senses identified the scent of humans. Intruders in the crypt! Must kill! It scuffled cross the ground and stopped by a thin wall in the cave. Its senses verified that humans were on the other side. Intruders! Kill! Kill intruders! It scrambled up the wall and up the ceiling and howled before rapidly digging though it from its inverted position. It pushed his head through the opening snarled at the intruders. Kill! Kill! KILL!

Hiju heard its fellow fiend howl an alarm. Power pumped into its body and it dug a hole through the wall so it could attack the foolish intruders.

Kai Leapt back quickly. The old mans rant had successfully put the bug to sleep. In fact, it almost put him to sleep too. He raised his power again in his eagerness to kill the thing. Suddenly remembering that he had thought up a new attack after the battle with Sakurako, he focused his energy to his fist. A dark aura oozed out of his arm then gathered into a mass of darkness in his palm, and started growing rapidly. A shape slowly formed, gaining distinctness until it began a dark gray skull with fanged teeth. He held out his hand and the ball shot forward, the skull crackling evilly. It hit the monster in the chest and, for an instant, an faint ghostly image of the skull biting a chunk out of the creature's chest appeared just behind it before the fiend howled in pain and fell over, dead.

Armanthia chuckled happily, whipping her threads at the demon. The fibers instantly pierced the skin and melded with the body, forcing the demon to bend to her will. As it fumed, the being was forced to move away, the threads lengthening as mana surged through them. The demon ran from her and suddenly cut into itself twice with downward slashes.

The crypt fiend howled threats through the hole it made at the intruders in it's primitive language. It snarled as the armoured intruder approached it, them howled again, this time in pain, as the two glowing blades ripped through it's body. Barely holding on to life, it was stunned when it's own viciously clawed hands rose high. The last thing it saw was the sharp, serrated edges of the claws rushing towards him, bringing doom it their wake. Even as they did, his mind felt like it was ripped to shreds by some unseen force.

The sleeping fiend didn't even see the cause of his death approaching. That old man had put him in his final sleep.

With all the bugs sleeping, Kai didn't worry as he moved forward. He grinned when his teammates destroyed one of the bugs that had dug through the walls, but it was his turn to kill again. He raised his power before forming the ball of darkness. The ball was bigger than before, the skull more distinct. He fired it at the demon at the edge of his range. Instead of biting the soul like it did lat time, the skull swooped through the demon, dragging out it's soul before swallowing it whole.

The cooperative attack successfully struck down the fiend, leaving its empty shell of a body slumped lifeless against the wall, its limb claws reaching into the hole it dug.

Fortunately for the fiend, it was asleep, so it didn't see the large black skull hurdle towards it, and its end came quickly, its life snuffing out with easily as the skull swallowed its soul whole.

Kai whistle softly. Was this trail really supposed to be a challenge? They had taken out most of the enemy in a few attacks. This really wasn't worth the trouble. He wandered over to the bag he noticed earlier and picked it up. He blinked at the next fiend and smiled. Almost lazily, he conjured another skull and tossed it at the beast. The skull snapped out the fiend's soul with a grin and chuckled evilly before vanishing. Kai stared at the spot it disappeared from curiously. That laugh was not something he had expected. Ah well, this was getting too easy anyway. And to think he had thought the old man to be useless luggage.

With the Crypt Fiends defeated, the group finally had time to breathe a bit. Scuffing sounds could be heard from the two tunnels ahead of them. They both led to dead ends, but a crack that lead to a steep slide were in each. Only one problem, only three could fit in each tunnel, so they would have to split into two groups before continuing.
Kai considered both sides. They seemed to be the same, and he couldn't really tell if they led to the same place or not, so he picked the left side. He stood by the drop in the left tunnel and waited for the others.

Vector didn't care about which path, so he randomly chose one of them, this being the rightmost. Seeing as the other party members went onwards their own route, he did the same and continued onwards the unknown.

Chillwhisper floated to the left, she did't say anything. She had nothing to say or think of this matter. She didn't have much care on which side she went to.

~Chapter Two; Ranking~
Nest Extermination
-Battle Two-

The slide was rough and bumpy, but short. As they descended, a low rumbling howl grew louder and louder. They wound up in a large cavern. In center, a large spider creature that could only be the queen lay cradled over a giant pulsating sac. As he watched, it squeezed out three slimy balls. He wrinkled his nose in disgust. Across from the queen, Kai spotted the other group. Between them, the queen and his group, a seemingly bottomless pit howled, sucking air and dust into its maw. He whistled softly. Anyone who fell in that, even the floating Lady Chillwhisper, would never be seen again. Behind the queen, Kai noticed an ornate door. He idly wondered it the key he found earlier would fit in it. However, before he could test that theory, they needed to deal with the queen and her bodyguards.
