Alyssia moves to F8.

Alyssia uses Trigger Command: Pick Up on 'P' Tile!

Alyssia took a step closer to the tile Terra had dropped and picked it up herself. It seemed all the tiles were close to the wall now; she and Cerberus would be able to make short work of putting them all in place as long as Lightning and Terra handled the bird creature. The 'P' tile she collected had to go in the indentation farther down near the north wall. Once placed, she could snatch up the 'H' tile and fly right back to the other side of the room to place it. She was trying to figure out a set amount of time it would take to do all of that, but figured it would be done when it was done in the end.


R-Ability Shade Reflex activates! [All damage taken -1%]

Cerberus moves to H7.

Being hit by the wind bullets was annoying, but the pain was negligible. Two of his heads growled while the one with the tile resisted the urge to join the others. Forcing himself to trod closer to the desired space in the wall, he took solace in the fact that the bird was far away from him now. It would be easier to keep his patience if the thing weren't attacking him. He had already thought it once, but it never hurt to remember that losing the tile he had would put them in a horrible situation.

Cerberus waits.

As the bullet of wind energy hit her Lightning flashed a quick flow of mana over herself before a larger wave washed over her. With power coursing through her once more she dashed after the retreating bird; it had to go down soon! As soon as she was in range Lightning released not two but four bullets, watching as they whizzed through the air. Hopefully the bird would not be able to dodge them...

Lightning attacks Bug! 4 Hits! 23 Atk Damage per Hit! Lightning's extra basic attacks fade!

Terra moves to G3!

The bird was pissing him off to no end, especially since he could not get into range to hit the damn thing. Terra did not want to attempt to hit it, he wanted to actually run his blade through it so that they could get on with the trials of the tower. The malice he felt towards the creature was no doubt the magic's doing, but he could handle it. Seeing as he was just barely in range, Terra sighed before thrusting his blade in the creature's direction. Instantly water vapor around it began to condense and freeze; hopefully the bird would be stuck as an ice statue.

Terra casts Ice Grille on Bug! 75% Chance of Freeze! Ice Elemental!

Alyssia moves to C8.

As Alyssia flew towards the next indentation, she watched as the remaining bird was turned into an ice statue and fell to the ground with a heavy thud. "Looks like that would be the end of that thing," Alyssia uttered to herself in relief as she placed the tile she was carrying carefully into its proper slot in the wall. The click could be heard and the green energy surged upwards from below, forming the hologram of the letter that was on the tile. She shot a sidelong glance at the tile sitting right next to her. That would be the last one once Cerberus managed to place his tile. Then, they could finally move on. Whoever designed this particular trial certainly hadn't held back. She wondered if this would be the last one, but it was far too early on to be thinking like that.

Alyssia uses Trigger Command: Place Tile on Indentation (C9)!

Cerberus uses Trigger Command: Place Tile on Indentation (G9)!

Finally reaching the wall, Cerberus allowed the tile in his mouth to fall upon his tongue. Opening his mouth, he lowered his head to level with the indentation and slowly slid his tongue out, pressing the tile to the slot while trying to push it in as carefully as he could. Though the tile was covered in saliva, it didn't take him long to get it perfectly placed, the telltale click resounded through the air. The beast took a step back and watched in awe as the hologram formed from the green energy that had formed the others. Alyssia would have the last tile under control while Lightning and Terra could do away with the last bird. At the end, everything turned out to come together quite nicely.

Lightning was quick to follow through after watching the bird get turned into a ice statue courtesy of Terra. No longer would the thing be able to dodge her assaults, and as long as it remained in that casing of ice it would take even more damage. Silently relishing in that fact, Lightning approached the statues and with two quick slashes it burst into a million pieces, revealing a very bloody mess that had been their enemy.

Alyssia moves to I8.

The last bird fell just as Alyssia managed to crouch down and pick up the final tile. She took to the air instantly and soared right over Cerberus, landing in front of the last open indentation. Wasting no time, she shoved the tile in and was surprised to hear the click so quickly. Usually it took some adjusting, but she must have picked up some tile-placing skill thanks to this horrible trial. She fought back the urge to laugh as she watched the hologram of the letter form from the green energy. "Show the path." That was what it had read, as expected. "What a tedious trial..."

Alyssia uses Trigger Command: Place Tile on Indentation (I9)!

The room began to shake once again, and this time, green light suffused the space as a portal opened up on the north wall just like the last one. The light remained intense and there was a heavy pressure in the chamber. There was no choice but to run forwards through the portal to escape the crushing feeling. Upon stepping into the portal, the group was tossed around again until their feet landed on a solid surface, and upon looking around, they realized they were in yet another chamber that was similar to the last. Another stone pedestal could be seen in the middle, and there were odd lit up panels on the floor with arrows on them pointing in random directions. Beyond that, there was nothing else in the chamber. Alyssia lookd around and put her hands on her hips, obviously displeased. "Well, here we go again. At least there doesn't appear to be any monsters this time," she said, trying to look on the bright side. They could solve the puzzle without having to deal with the pain dished out by whatever monsters were being held in this place.

"Might as well get started. I call pedestal."

Lightning starts at J6!

Terra starts at J5!

Lightning placed her blade back in its holster, there did not seem to be any enemies for them to deal with this time. If any did appear she would be able to handle them quickly, her blade was not far out of reach. But all that seemed to be in the room was them and the puzzle; as there had been in the first room. "You direct, we'll follow." Lightning said, the comment directed at Terra who had been the brains of the group for the previous puzzles.

"Alright." the Actor answered with a nod, looking around the room. The pedestal was Alyssia's to take on, she could read it out to them and then he could figure it out. There were several panels littering the floor, with what appeared to be arrows on them. "I wonder what we'll have to do..." Terra mumbled to himself, trying to think up just what kind of challenge the room could present.

"There's no telling, so let's find out," Alyssia responded to Terra's pondering, walking up to the pedestal still wary of any traps that might be scattered about. She placed her hands gingerly on the pedestal and gazed over the scrawling on the stone tablet. "It says: 'Indicate the object that seems to be the center of attention time and time again with what has been given to you, and you shall be granted passage'," she called out to the others so that they could hear clearly. The gears were beginning to spin quite quickly in her head. What they were given were obviously the weird lit panels with the arrows on them. Were they supposed to point something out? What on earth was supposed to be the center of attention? There wasn't much of anything in the chamber except them and...the pedestal. "Well, that was easy enough," Alyssia said aloud, turning to face her allies with a mischievous grin, not voicing what conclusion she had reached.


Cerberus waits.

Cerberus growled slightly, a bit displeased. He couldn't figure it out right away; it felt like his master was teasing him. With each of his six eyes, he surveyed the chamber and saw the panels. It obviously had something to do with them. A few moments passed, and he gazed right into Alyssia's eyes before it dawned on him. Not knowing where to start, he figured he could just wait for the others to take charge before lending his aid.

Terra's own gears began to spin rapidly as the riddle was read out loud; he quickly came to a conclusion he was certain Alyssia had also. The look on her face reassured him, and when he glanced to Lightning, she too had figured it out as well. "It seems fairly straight forward." the Actor reasoned as he took a couple steps in the direction of one of the panels.

Terra moves to I5!

Upon getting a closer look, Terra could only smile; they would not have to pick up or push the panels into place. It appeared if they commanded them they would move on their own. "Move here." Terra voiced to the panel, pointing to the open space directly in front of him. The panel responded by floating over to where it was asked to be placed.

Terra uses Trigger Command: Slide on Panel H4! Panel H4 is moved to H5!

The Actor nodded with a small smile on his face before turning to Lightning. "Ask it to turn." he added, watching as the soldier took a couple steps forward to do as asked.

Lightning moves to H6!

However, just as Lightning as about to order the panel to rotate, she paused. The place likely had traps around here somewhere, perhaps pointing the tile in the wrong direction or at the wrong thing would activate one. Lightning instead focused on another nearby tile before speaking. "Move there." she stated, pointing to make the desired location clear.

Lightning uses Trigger Command: Slide on Panel G7! Panel G7 is moved to F7!

"But-"

"Best not take any chances. Alyssia can move out of the way first."

"Good, so everyone's on board. Let's do this," Alyssia said in a satisfied tone, dodging around the pedestal before glancing at the panel nearest her. "Move down to that spot there, good fellow," she chided the panel, watching as it shifted easily to the spot she had designated. "Cerberus...er, I'm not sure if it'll work, but try barking at it to turn it. All we can do is hope it works. If it doesn't, don't worry about it, boy. We'll be able to handle it just fine," she ordered her partner, unsure if animal sounds would be sufficient to move the panels. If the intent was clear enough behind the sound, then perhaps it wouldn't matter. They would just have to wait and see.

Alyssia uses Trigger Command: Slide on Panel (D3)! [Moves target to E3]


Cerberus moves to G3.

Cerberus nodded to his master and trod forward, focusing on the panel she had just moved. Opening his middle mouth, he barked a few times. A few seconds passed and nothing seemed to be happening. Just as the beast was about to give up hope, the panel began to turn until the arrow upon it was pointing at the pedestal. Well, it seemed it would work out all right after all.

Cerberus uses Trigger Command: Rotate on Panel (E3)! [Rotates target clockwise]

Lightning moves to F6!

"One more time." Lightning stated, pointing once more in the direction she wanted the panel to move. In a short moment the panel was aligned with the pedestal, only the arrow was facing the wrong direction. Only one more movement and it would be in its proper place. Then she could move onto the next panel and hopefully they could move on.

Lightning uses Trigger Command: Slide on Panel F7! Panel F7 moves to E7!

With all of his allies preparing the tiles for their proper places, Terra nodded at the tile in front of him. "Turn counterclockwise please." the Actor said simply, watching as the tile rotated in the desired direction. "Perfect." he thought to himself, looking up to see how everyone else was doing before taking a step towards the other end of the room.

Terra uses Trigger Command: Rotate on Panel H5! Panel H5 is rotated counterclockwise!

"Wow, this one's actually pretty easy. Guess we better not take it for granted," Alyssia said cockily as she skirted past the pedestal and focused on the next panel. She figured Lightning and Terra would be able to handle the other. It was already in place; it just needed to be rotated now. "Wait a minute...Lightning, I'm going to place this one. I need you to rotate it. If you let Terra rotate the one you placed, we should have the puzzle solved," Alyssia called out to the woman. Alyssia waved her hand through the air and pointed to the spot she wanted the panel to move to. "Move right there," she ordered it, watching as it slid into place. Now it would just need some rotation. She took a moment to wave a hand at Cerberus gesturing for him to stand down for the time being. It was almost over.

Lightning nodded before following behind her ally; the second the tile was in place she spoke. "Counterclockwise." was her command, which was quickly followed. The tile clicked into its proper position which left Terra to finish the puzzle. "Go ahead."

Lightning uses Trigger Command: Rotate on Panel B5! Panel B5 is rotated counterclockwise!

Terra moves to F6!

"On it!" Terra called as he moved closer to the tile, he figured whatever powered the thing had a range. "Clockwise, please." the Actor stated, watching as the panel rotated as was asked. "And there we go."

The room began to shake again which was something Alyssia was getting tired of until she remembered that she could fly. Taking to the air, she awaited the appearance of the portal, and when it showed itself, flew right inside with the others right behind her. Enveloped by energy, the group tumbled along through the vortex until they found themselves standing in the next chamber. There was no telling how many trials they had to face, but Alyssia just pinched the bridge of her nose and took in a deep breath. She was starting to get a headache. When she opened her eyes and lowered her hand, she noticed the pedestal in the center of the room holding the stone tablet with the ancient writing on it. On both sides of the room there seemed to be more rooms around, but the stone walls had no doors or windows. There appeared to be no way in and no way out. That was all that was visible.

"Think it's safe to say our way out is in one of these rooms?" Alyssia posed the idea to the others. The only problem was actually finding out what was behind the walls. The pedestal would definitely have the answers, so she'd have to get to it quickly to figure out what to do. "Get ready, you guys. Something about this seems...off."

Both the Actor and the Soldier drew their weapons, the former after the latter; mostly because the latter seemed to sense something as well. "Be careful with where you step." Lightning warned, her gaze falling on Terra who nodded quickly. With the order received well by the youngest member of their group, Lightning turned back to face the rest of the room. This was going to be interesting to say the least.

Alyssia uses Trigger Command: Read the Tablet!

Alyssia cautiously stepped forward this time, approaching the pedestal with her eyes glancing at the many walls surrounding her. She hated having them around. Taking a soft breath, Alyssia loomed over the tablet, scanning the words before her. "It says..." she started to say, but trailed off. "A trial of choice and luck. Both danger and sanctuary lies hidden and unseen. Lift the veil from your path to the future." A grimace formed on her face. Luck? Choice? She looked down the corridors between the walls and noticed that there were three levers in each direction. "Guys, there are levers around. Do you think they might open some hidden doors in the walls?" she asked the others, working on trying to figure out the best course of action for this particular challenge. There was danger behind the walls, but also...sanctuary. Would that be their way out?


Cerberus moves to G5.

Cerberus padded after his master. With things as ominous as they were, there was no way he was going to leave her side right now. He stood tensely as Alyssia read the words from the tablet and seemed particularly perturbed by them. Things could possibly get dangerous with this one. He bared his fangs slightly and let out a low volume growl, quickly scanning the areas he could see which would do no good. Apparently, the danger was hidden, or so the tablet had dictated. They would have to find it or maybe, by luck, avoid it altogether.

Cerberus waits.

Lightning paid close attention to the riddle, mentally frowning as her ally finished reading the clue. It was not exactly laid out like the others had been; it even mentioned the whole thing being left to chance and luck. There was only one thing for them to do if they wanted to move on anytime soon. "We're going to have to pull one of them." Lightning stated bluntly, looking between the three available levers. "So which one?"

Terra moves to H6!

Terra followed the others closely behind, casting the offensive version of the two charms he had on himself quickly. He was not sure what there was in this room, but he wanted to be prepared in any way possible. When the question of which lever to pull came up, he froze for a moment, looking between the three choices. Oh how he wished the Diviner were with them at that moment, it would have helped them so much to have her just look into the future and see which one would lead to safety. But alas, she was not with them and they would just have to experiment and see what happened. "Let's just go in order. Left to right and see what happens." Terra said quietly, still checking out the options. "Just... deal with them one at a time."

Alyssia moves to F3.

"Left to right, you said?" Alyssia's gaze turned to look at the lever near the chamber's left wall. "Sounds good enough to me. Pulling all at the same time would probably be disastrous. Get ready because here I go." With that, she took a breath and flew over to the lever, inspecting it closely before placing her hand gingerly on the handle. By that point, there wasn't much left to lose. Alyssia pulled the lever down and closed her eyes, bracing herself to dodge some trap or whatever. A few moments passed the sound of stone scraping against stone filled the chamber. The girl turned to face the direction the sound had come from to see that one of the stone walls in the upper right of the chamber had lowered revealing...something she didn't know. "Guys, what's in the room over there?" She waved a hand at Cerberus issuing a subtle command to just stay alert.

Alyssia uses Trigger Command: Pull on Lever (F2)!


Cerberus waits.

Heeding the command, Cerberus held his ground. Even if he could see what was in the room, there was no way he'd be able to communicate it easily to Alyssia, depending on what it was. He'd leave it up to the others to relay that sort of information while staying on guard in the case that trouble arose from pulling that particular lever.

"It's another lever." Lightning said upon a quick inspection of the room that had opened. She had prepared herself for a creature or other kind of trap but to be rewarded with a lever was a relief. The other two likely opened traps and they were lucky to choose the right one; the lever that was revealed probably opened the path. And yet it seemed to easy for them to just pull the lever in the new room and move on. "Let's try the others..." she added moving over to the rightmost lever.

Lightning moves to G10!

"This one was closer." Lightning added, the comment directed towards Terra who had suggested left to right. Seeing as she could not reach the uppermost lever, this one would have to do. The boy could not complain about that. With a grip placed on the lever, the soldier pulled the mechanism and braced herself as another wall lowered.

Lightning uses Trigger Command: Pull on Lever F10!

"Wait!" Terra called out too late for his own good, as Lightning pulled the lever. He quickly drew his saber as one of the walls began to move to reveal whatever it would reveal. "We don't know what else is in here, we could have at least tried the new lever." the Actor stated, trying to calm his nerves in preparation for whatever was going to happen now.

The lever pulled by Lightning lifted the wall of the bottom left room, though there was nothing good that came from that one. A loud roar resounded through the area as a creature was revealed to be hiding within--a behemoth. The monster was immense in size, its muscular body covered in dark olive fur. Its fangs and claws were sharp as razors, black in hue. Two black horns shot out of its head, and hazel eyes gazed outwards, scouring the area for prey.

Wall (D9) and Wall (D10) have lowered!

Walls (I4), (J4), and (K4) have lowered!

"Shit." Alyssia heard the loud roar resound off the stone walls of the chamber. She couldn't see exactly what the source of the sound was, but she really didn't care to find out what it was. She raised her hand and felt a gentle gale surround her, the winds causing her clothes to flutter a bit. It was calming and comforting, and she felt a bit more at ease with the protection. For the moment, she held her ground. "Cerberus, engage it. I'll be coming in from behind. Terra and Lightning can help you too," she commanded, though she was positive Cerberus would already be preparing to take action. The appearance of whatever it was might have been sudden, but they had all been expecting something like this. If they had let their guard down, they would have no doubt been shaken more than they were now.

"Time for a good workout. I was getting tired of puzzles anyway," Alyssia muttered to herself as she drew her blade and readied herself to jet forward.

Alyssia waits.


Cerberus moves to I5.

Cerberus spun as quickly as the large beast could without taking out some of the stone wall near him or the pedestal. The three-headed creature lunged forward and started biting the behemoth that had shown itself. Apparently, it had been trapped within the walls by whoever designed this particular trial. It was certainly a nice present. Cerberus snapped at the muscled beast. He was familiar with behemoths. They certainly didn't taste very good, but their claws and fangs were specifically honed for combat. Not to mention that the behemoth's formidable strength was something to be feared. It would be difficult to take one out, but at least it was outnumbered.

Cerberus attacks Feral! 4 hits! 18 Dmg per hit! (ATK)

"See!" Terra responded to the roar, though his comment was entirely directed at the soldier who had let the creature loose. Quickly spinning around as Cerberus had done and preparing his mana. "Evil inhabits us all, spirit be forever locked within the icy grip you use against us." Terra stated loudly for all to hear before thrusting his saber forward. Just as swiftly as the Actor had moved, the water vapor around the large behemoth congealed and then froze over, hopefully trapping the beast in a thick coating of ice.

Terra casts Ice Grilli on Feral! 75% Chance of Freeze! Ice Elemental!

With his attack complete, Terra moved closer to the beast, fearing the ice would not hold. If that happened it would be best for him to be close to the creature. That way he could dish out a little more damage than he could from his current positioning. "Come on..." he muttered as some of the ice began to build on itself; maybe just maybe the spell would work for them.

Terra moves to J6!

Lightning flinched just barely at the sound of the behemoth roaring; so maybe her choice of lever was not the best. But even if Terra was unhappy with her choice, it was a good one nonetheless. She too had been getting tired of just completing puzzles, a fight was in order and this was one way to do it. She swiftly took off into the fray, a blue aura washing over her followed by a wave of power boosting mana.

Lightning moves to G7!

Lightning shifts to Ravager! Lightning's R-Ability, Power-Shift, activates! +50% Atk and Int for Three Turns!

Lightning mentally frowned as she got into range... barely. The only spell she had to use at this range was rather weak, but with the power boost and possible freeze it might do well. And even if it was not, it was her own fault for not having a longer range spell. "Water." Lightning muttered, thrusting a hand in the direction of the behemoth. A surge of water fell from the air and covered it. If it was not frozen, it might have gotten soaked at the very least.

Lightning casts Water on Feral! 14 Int Water Damage! 50% Chance of Wet! Lightning recovers 2 Mp from Manasiphon!

Out of the corner of his right head, Cerberus noticed Alyssia preparing herself and heard her commands loud and clear. The behemoth's attacks proved to be just as powerful as he expected, but in response, the shadows rose around him, thickening just a bit to form a very thin layer of protection. Dodging around the behemoth, Cerberus managed to claw at the thing before chomping down on it three times, once with each of his heads. It was a battle of beasts, granted the others were helping of course, but in the heat of things, Cerberus didn't even notice them. As mighty as the behemoth was, Cerberus was designated the guardian of Hell for a reason, and he sought to prove that to the beast before him.

Alyssia moves to I5.

"All right, let's get this shit done," Alyssia stated simply, stretching her free arm out before gliding in to attack the behemoth, slicing away at its muscular neck finding quite a bit of resistance causing Alyssia's mouth to open a bit in awe before she landed. "Well, this isn't going to be as easy as I thought." She was clearly displeased, but certainly up for the challenge. The four of them together were a force to be reckoned with. Alyssia wondered if there was another one hiding behind one of the other walls...or maybe something worse. They certainly didn't pull any punches this time. Alyssia kept her stance firm and wary, ready to dodge if necessary, and she would try her best to do so after seeing the gashes in Cerberus's flesh.

"Uh oh." Terra whispered as the creature broke free of the icy veil he had conjured around it. Perhaps it was able to fully resist the spells effects? The Actor hesitated as he tried to decide if he should try again, ultimately he raised his blade; he would not be pulling the same attack again. "Try this on for size!" Terra muttered before disappearing in a flash and reappearing behind the monster. A powerful thrust did little to move it, but a strange energy did begin to surround it. "Fade!"

Terra uses Ascendere al Cielo on Feral! 25 Atk Light Damage! 15% Chance of Oblivion!

Finished with his attack, Terra flashed back to his previous location only to quickly take off. He was not going to be able to dodge the monster, but hopefully getting out of its line of sight would keep him relatively safe.

Lightning moves to I6!

Lightning was quick to follow through her attack by closing most of the distance between her and the large creature. Thrusting her own blade in the direction of the creature a surge of mana ran through her and up her arm. Soon afterward a spark of electricity jumped from her blade and shot straight for the creature. "Thunder!" Lightning muttered, watching as the spark grew in size and finished its movement.

Lightning casts Thunder on Feral! 22 Int Lightning Damage! 50% Chance of Paralyze! Damage is increased by Wet! Lightning recovers 17 Mp from Manasiphon!

Alyssia moves to K7.

To Alyssia's surprise, the mighty beast chose to gain distance, but it was all part of some sinister plan it had concocted, one that involved catching all of them in one powerful blow. Quickly catching swift wind of the scheme, Alyssia was barely able to dodge it, though not everyone had been as lucky. She took to the air and landed on the far side of the creature, intent to put a serious dent in its stamina now that it was starting to get weaker. She nodded her head to Cerberus before she slashed the air causing a ghostly seal to appear on the ground and break. The chamber was filled with the sound of horrid wailing, but Alyssia seemed to grin wickedly, taking pleasure in the sound. She gripped the blade tightly and began to lay into the beast as if dancing, her blade slicing at the thing's thick hide again and again. Ending her attack, she stood her ground, glaring at the behemoth warily.

Cerberus roared in agony as the behemoth's claws teared into his flesh causing really dark red blood to splatter the chamber floor. The wound also continued to bleed rather profusely. He was glad his master had been agile enough to dodge it, so he ignored his own pain for the time being and counterattacked as his master had dictated. Opening each mouth, scorching flames began to form, morphing into large spheres. Jaws snapped shut as three fireballs shot outwards through the air. The first attempted to hit dead-on while the other two came in from the sides.

Cerberus waits.
