“You bitch!” Ling shouted, obviously he had snapped, “You people are really irritating me now…”
Right after that, Ling disappeared completely, and nothing seemed to be wrong. As the wind stirred Ling slowly emerged from Anastasia’s shadow, standing right behind the girl.
“Where were you looking?” Ling asked.
Before anyone could react to what just happened, countless deep wounds appeared one by one on Anastasia’s body, and she fell onto the ground limp within seconds. While Ling stood behind Anastasia licking blood off the daggers he had.

Anastasia was pleased that she could evoke such emotion in her enemy, but then she blinked and he was gone. Before she had a chance to realize it, Ling had unleashed his assault on her and she fell to her knees before hitting the ground completely. Her body was warm as it lie in a puddle of her own blood. She smiled as her eyes lost their color and her thoughts became fuzzy. As she began to die, she would not let go of the feeling of the warmth that was enveloping her body.

Elliot's frown quickly transformed into a rapturous grin as soon as Anastasia's lifeless skull made contact with the cold soil scattered across the ground. He burst out into tears of laughter and shouted, "Oh dear! This isn't good at all!"

"Not good at all!" He repeated as he continued to chuckle.

"I suppose we should be panicking now, shouldn't we?" Serenity mused as she watched Anastasia fall. "Maybe I should have learned a revival spell? But I still don't enough training for that. . . ." She sighed, placing a hand on her cheek. "I really need to work harder. If Tenkai saw me like this, she would no doubt scold me."

Looking over to Ashe, who had just used her Finishing on the Assassin, the Acolyte smiled. "Since I have nothing better to do, let's try this."

Watching Ashe fall, Serenity tapped a finger against her chin, turning to look at Elliot, she spoke to him with a rather thoughtful look.

"I do believe we are in a spot of trouble."

Humming to herself softly, she looked over at where Janie was and called out to her.

"Make sure to be extra careful, Janie! Don't trip over anything! This place has very rough footing thanks to that earthquake from before!"

[Serenity] waits.

"A bit of trouble?" Elliot smirked as he continued to fiddle with the edge of his scythe, "These faggots don't even have Y-chromosomes!" He stuck his tongue out at Ling. "Seriously!! A "ninja"!? They don't have the balls to attack head on!" He began to enter fits of uncontrollable laughter at this point, "Rogues and ninjas are so cliche! Come on!"

"Hello there, Miss!" Elliot ecstatically waved at Ling the second Serenity's corpse slammed against the ground, "Are you gonna force me to drown in my own tears of laughter as you execute one of your cliche, boring moves upon me?!" He sat down on a nearby pumpkin, "If so, then be my guest!"

Unable to defend against the blow, Serenity fell. Blood soaked the ground as it leaked out of the bloody hole that had been created from the attack. And yet, Serenity looked peaceful, a small smile on her face. Her eyes had slid shut during her fall and she looked as serene as her name.

Ling sighed as he finished the last of the group, save Janie. He shook his head and looked back at Krok, who apparently also held back. The abominable tree was now feeding off of the roots that grew from him to satisfy his hunger.
“You really are pathetic...even when Krok and I held back you fell so quickly that it isn’t fun anymore...” Ling said, “Seeing that sad attempt to fight, I don’t think you guys can pose any threat to us...”
Krok looked at Ling with somewhat of a confused expression, he had been eager to eat these people, but now it’s obvious that Ling were going to let them live. He said nothing and walked away, the ground shaking each time he took a step. And Ling followed, they quickly disappeared from sight.

Anastasia suddenly came to. She thought she was as good as dead, but it seemed as though her wounds had stopped bleeding; they weren't as deep as she had once thought. She managed to stand up, getting out of the puddle of blood, though her clothes were soaked with the crimson liquid. She looked around, her vision impaired by the blood loss. "W-well, it s-seems I lost enough of it," she muttered pretty incomprehensibly.

Ashe came to, her wounds seeming as if they were closed. But when she touched the areas, pain shot through her body. She put her fingers up to her eyes and saw the blood. She was about to close her eyes, but shook her head instead. She would not fall back to sleep.

As she stopped shaking her head she saw the wounds that had been left from the battle. She didn't dare move now, she knew she wouldn't have the strength to heal her wounds. She looked up at the sky, wondering if she was dead. Everything didn't seem changed in any way, she was still in the pumpkin patch.

THE PUMPKIN PATCH! The people that had done this to the group. They must have gotten Janie. She shook her head in total disbelief, not caring about the pain.

"JANIE!"

Her eyes snapped open and Serenity suddenly sat up. She blinked once and stared unseeingly in front of her. After a moment, she smiled, clapping her hands together.

"Well," she began, sounding pleasantly surprised. "It seems we're all still alive. What a pleasant surprise!" Looking around, she realized that some of her allies had already awakened and were pretty badly injured. The Acolyte tried to call upon her powers but found she was much too tired to.

"Well then," Serenity continued, not seeming at all bothered by this fact. "Is everyone alright?"

Janie heard Ashe's shout and ran toward her, kneeling down beside her and smiled. Ashe was probably worried about her, and Serenity and Anastaia seemed to have came to also. The child let out a sigh of relief and looked up into the sky, thinking about what Ling had said before he left. It was true that the group possessed little strength and skill, too little to be able to bring Ling down.

"I'm fine Ashe...they spared all of us..." Janie said, the ominous tone that's usually in her voice was gone, replaced by sadness.

Forgetting her pain, Ashe wrapped her arms around the girl. She held her tight, like a mother who was worried about her missing child. She then let go, leaving blood on Janie's black dress.

"Forgive me... I was rather worried..."

She got to her feet, pulling out a potion that she had stowed away. She drank it quickly and started to feel a little better. She wiped some blood away and looked to the others.

"Oh, it's good to see you're alright, Janie," Serenity spoke upon seeing the young girl. "I suppose we all got lucky. All we need now is for everyone to wake up." She looked around and after a moment, began to stand. It took her a while but soon she was on her feet and brushing off her robe.

"We should give in the quests and then find an inn to stay at," the Acolyte suggested, smiling. "My healing powers are rather weak at the moment, seeing as we all just narrowly avoided death, so it won't be of much help."

When the group returned to the old man, he had an angry look on his face. As if he just knew that the group had destroyed a few pumpkins. He stood up and walked up to the doorway and pointed his finger toward the way to the town.
“Get out.” the old man said bluntly.
And as the group walked down the hill to the town, the voice of the old man could be heard shouting, “And get off my lawn!”

More than happy to be away from the pumpkins, Anastasia strolled calmly down the streets looking into various shops until she chanced upon a beautiful black dress. Her eyes could not look away from it and she knew she had to have it. So, with a slight smile upon her face, she entered the shop, took it down, laid it on the counter, put some money down, and went to change into it. As she looked in the mirror, she was pleased. She then promptly brought out her old clothes and left them on the counter expecting some gold in return.

Noticing some new armor in the shop, Ashe looked down at her current armor. Comfortable yes, but the recent battles had gotten it into worse condition than the clothes she had worn in the begining. She quickly grabbed the armor, and in seconds switched into it. She put the appropriate gold on the counter along with her Chainmail.

"Now that that's over," Serenity hummed, clapping her hands together with a smile. "I suppose it's time for us to some exploring." Seeing how some of them had already gone away, the Acolyte did the same.

Slowly browsing the shops, her gaze soon landed on a set of very pretty robes. She stared at them for a moment before stepping into the shop and taking them. Running her hands over the fabric, Serenity smiled. They weren't too bad. She quickly paid for them, going into the dressing room to take off her old ones. Once she had the new one on, the Acolyte decided to sell the old one.

Janie looked around the stands before walking to the general goods stand, she took a few items that she thought would prove useful and paid for them, walking toward the wapon and armor stands which were conviently placed right next to each other.

Janie buys 3 Hi-Potions, 7 Herbs, 3 Yggdrasil Dew, and 3 Chest Keys

Janie saw that there was nothing new in the weapon stand but there were a set of new robes the fit her perfectly. She quickly paid for them and changed, admiring the shine it had.

After selling her old robes, Janie heard a voice behind her.

"Hi, Janie. Yuki says 'hi' too."

Janie turned and smiled when she saw a girl about her age and height, she was holding a doll with a rather...creepy smile on its face.

"Sayori! I haven't seen you in so long! Where have you been?" Janie asked.

"Just traveling around and wasting time, who knows when you'll finish with your part?" Sayori answered, "Also, Yuki thinks that the group you've gotten to help you are a bunch of morons, and the one with the sword hilt smells like a camel's ass."

"Okay then, I'm afraid to ask any more." Janie said and ran toward the library, "Anyway, I have to go, bye."

In the library, Janie went to see all the scrolls with available requests that the group could take, there was only one, and Janie had a pretty good idea of who she would meet there. But she took the scroll nevertheless.

Then Janie ran back to the others, a big smile on her face for some reason.

"So, is everyone ready now?" Janie asked.

Anastasia had been loitering at a nearby shop when Janie finally decided to show up. "Yeah, I'm ready," she stated simply. The journey was turning out to be a real drag. I wonder if Trinity it having fun on her quest, she thought as the slight breeze tousled her hair. A nostalgic smile graced her face. She almost felt like going back home. Maybe Trinity's quest had been short and she was back at the house waiting for her? She realized it was too good to be true and shook her head. "What's next on the agenda?" she asked.
