It was almost as if some higher being answered Silver's plea, for immediately the boy bard opened his eyes and slowly sat up, rubbing the back of his head. His mouth opened, probably to complain about how much he was hurting right now, but of course no one, with the exception of Serenity of course, could hear him.

"My head hurts...and I can't feel the rest of my body..."

Suddenly then the flaps to the tent flew open and out stepped the pink-haired commander. She was now wearing a somewhat normal outfit with a shiny red breastplate as her armor. She still held her spear in hand, and joined the group in waiting. Once Caroline and the other two knights were prepared, they would have quite a show.

"Oh good, you're awake." Marcia said, "It would be quite the trouble if you died there. Think about who would have to clean your body up. Although if you were beaten down so easily back there when I only used one arm, you're not going to stand a chance against Caroline in a real fight."

"Oh Kee... I'm sorry... I wish I knew some sort of healing or something..."

But Silver heard none of the little florence nightengale situation going on behind him as the commander appeared again. She began once again with her venom, Silver's hand clenching into fists once again. This time the fire did not start up again, but the aura still flared.

"Wanna bet?"

The boy bard blushed as Serenity spoke to him. She had this tone of concern in her voice, that made Kee smile knowing that someone actually cared for his well being. He got up and pulled Serenity into a sudden hug.

"Thanks anyway Serenity"

Marcia looked down at the boy standing in front of her. If he was this confident, then maybe she would teach him a lesson herself. Yes, show him how well the captain of the Whitewings can fight, a splendid idea.

"Save the big talk for when you actually beat Caroline, not that it'll happen."

"Oh we'll beat her."

The mana still flared up as his eyes sharpened on the pink haired commander. The nerve of her to put down the only real fighting force she had. If she wanted the party to kick around her only real soldier, then so it would happen. The mana continued to rage around him at least until Caroline stepped between them from nowhere nudged him again.

"Oh! I... it's not a problem Kee..."

"You're here, good. Now let's see if these four are of any worthwhile help." Marcia said as two other female soldiers mounting pegasi flew up into the air.

Taking place slightly off to the side of his allies, Silver originally started focusing in on the three foes before them. However, his mind kept drifting off to the big headed commander and her disbelief in their abilities. Looking around, he figured he would teach her a little lesson for not believing in them. Smiling deviously he nodded, looking straight ahead at Marcia's tent.

Then Kuori stepped forward to close the gap between her and her target.

Silver spoke with a proud tone, not allowing Marcia to get to him, flicking his wrist without even focusing. A large ball of water appeared high above the nearest pegasus and fell to their level. Oh his head! Silver clutched the sides of his head, tugging on the hair slightly as nothing but pain registered. Daring to move his left hand from his face, he tried snapping, flicking his wrist, and even slamming his fist down. But nothing happened, he couldn't concentrate through the pain.

His head was still throbbing as he desperately tried to make sense of his thoughts. A jumbled mess of how to call upon his abilities and effectively fight mixing up in his head. Nearly pulling the hair out of his head, a beam of energy flew at the weakened pegasus knight. A screech came from the winged horse before it fell, leaving the rider to be rushed to the sidelines by several other knights.

The half-human half-robot girl stumbled forward weakly and barely managed to supply enough power for herself in order to execute another one of her powerful missile barrages.

The attack had knocked the other pegasus knight down, and now all that was left was the leader's right hand man, err...woman. Kuori enveloped her left hand in a light pulsating with energy, and punched Caroline, twice.

Silver still fought the ache in his head as he attempted to sort through the mess of his thoughts. Everything was still every which way, but he seemed to be figuring things out. For example, executing an actual attack was back, but his abilities were still lost. He would need to remember them soon if he were to actually be useful in battle.

Having been attacked again, and brought down to a point where she had suffered severe external damage, Kuori system released the mechanisms restraining her in a last ditch effort to preserve the girl's life. Kuori's pupils shrunk as her eyes opened wide. She let out a scream and opened the missile pods on her body, firing out even more of the destructive explosive projectiles toward the last standing enemy.

And as if that wasn't enough, the girl suddenly dashed forward, her entire right arm enveloped in a light blue glow pulsating with raw energy coming from who-knows-where. With the empowered arm, Kuori gave the pegasus rider a punch straight to the gut, and then proceeded to use her pegasus as a stepping stone to jump up and deliver a downward smash, aimed to knock the rider off the winged steed.

The battle was won, all three winged riders were defeated. And every soldier spectating, including the pink-haired commander, was shocked to see Kuori's last few attacks. Quickly after the battle ended and everyone regained their senses, they began to whisper to one another.

"That girl, she's so powerful. What is she?"

"She's some kind of monster."

"Are you sure she's safe to be around?"

"Is Commander Marcia really going to be fighting her?"

Kuori, rather oblivious to these whispers of her, turned back to Silver.

"Sorry about that, I may have gone a bit overboard."

Meanwhile the pink haired soldier immediately rushed to Caroline, and for the first time since their meeting, the party saw a look on her face that was different from the usual serious expression. It was a look of concern, a look of fear that her friend may have suffered a fatal injury.

"Caroline! Are you alright?!"

Silver finally shook off the pounding in his head and sorted the jumbled mess of thoughts only to come to. Caroline was on the ground, bleeding, battered, and probably broken. He hadn't see what had been happening, but he knew what had happened. Kuori was able to knock her off her game and effectively tear apart the White Wings only capable fighter. Smirking Silver looked over at Marcia with a smug satisfaction.

"Still think we can't kick ass?"

Meanwhile Caroline didn't stir, unresponsive to Marcia's plea. She lay there broken and bleeding, the only thing telling she was alive was the breaths that were few and far between. It was obvious that she would need more than just medicine and supplies from the medic's inventory. No, that wouldn't do at all. She was in the need of some major healing magic and fast...

Marcia didn't respond to Silver, in fact she seemed to not even have heard him at all. She bit her lower lip and stared at the injuries Caroline suffered, taking her friend's hand and feeling her pulse. The next thing out of Marcia's throat was a gasp of horror, her friend's pulse was extremely weak and slow, it was as if she was on the verge of death. Her eyes widened and she clutched Caroline's hand tightly, her own hands trembling.

"Caroline, don't die! You can't die! I won't allow it! Get up Caroline! You're stronger than this! I order you to stop fooling around and get up! I know you're okay!" the girl's usual tough and serious demeanor now has changed completely, there were even tears streaming down her face, "Please, Caroline...you can't die yet...I need you...!"

Silver's smug smile faded when the commander didn't respond, bursting into tears after assessing her ally's wounds. Moving closer, he took in the sight himself, eyes widening as he realized why she in such hysterics. The younger knight was hardly breathing, her chest barely rising, blood continuing to pool. Looking over to his android friend, Silver's expression became grim.

". . . Kuori... this doesn't look good..."

However he didn't wait for her response, he turned back to the dying girl and her commander. Medical supplies would take too long to get here, and she was losing too much blood for it to be effective. It was obvious she was going to die if she didn't get magical medical attention and fast. Silver bit his lip, he didn't know any healing spells... and Kee's abilities didn't work in the way required. With no one else who knew how to use healing magic in the area, Caroline would probably die here.

No. No she wouldn't. It wasn't right for her to die like this. Silver didn't know any healing magic per say, but he could improvise. How hard could it be? He could already manipulate elemental mana, making something heal rather than hurt couldn't be too difficult could it? No... he couldn't think about the difficulty of the task, he just had to try. Moving closer and kneeling by the girl he began to move his arm over to Marcia. He would need space if he were to do this.

"Let me-"

But before he could even reach out to tap her, much less begin his request, a light began to shine. Very similarly to the way the tower had been cleansed the light enveloped everything in the camp. However it was different, when the light faded a gentle breeze pushed pass the battered knight and those around her. Her wounds began to close immediately, rapidly healing by some unknown force.

Silver looked away from the healing girl for only a moment to see where the breeze and light had come from. None other than Serenity stood in the direction the healing had come from. But that couldn't be right. Serenity wasn't a fighter or medic or anything. Sure she could heal the physical world, but she hadn't displayed any characteristics of a cleric. Did she even have the ability to channel mana?

Meanwhile Caroline's wounds had fully healed, the blood that cloaked the ground beneath having too disappeared with the light. It was as if the bloody fight had never occurred, no trace but the memories engraved in the minds of those who watch or took part. The young knight began to breathe at a normal rater, her pulse picking up also, normality reestablished. And she began to stir ever so slightly, her eyes opening weakly.

"Mar. . . ci. . . a? Wh. . . at ha. . . ppened?"

During the white light, Marcia did not take her eyes off of Caroline for even a moment. She stared at her friend in awe as the bloody wounds began to slowly close and the crimson liquid began disappearing. The tents that were collapsed by Silver's tremors earlier were also back up to their original positions. The warm gentle breeze seemed to have restored everything in the area to before the battle happened. And as Caroline's eyes finally opened and she uttered weak words, Marcia suddenly wrapped her arms around the knight and pulled her into an embrace.

"Caroline, I thought you had died." Marcia said, still crying, "Please, don't ever scare me like that again."

Kuori simply stared at Serenity, deciding not to question her abilities, as DSoED probably granted her these powers along with that ability to restore the cyber world. She would take note of it and trust that DSoED had the best intentions in mind, she usually does, after all.

"Wou. . . ldn't dream. . . of it. . . Milady. . ."

Caroline smiled weakly, her energy slowly coming back to her as the final bits of her wound healed. However, Silver no longer focused on the healthy girl, but rather Serenity. He knew the wind and light had come from her, the mana in the air was coming from her, but why? She never once displayed the ability to do such things. Getting up and going over to her, Silver's grim expression changed to one of total seriousness.

"Serenity... how did you do that?"

She didn't seem surprised by question, not even in the slightest. Rather Serenity looked passed the questioning mage for a moment, eyeing the fully recovered girl. Her eyes however returned to Silver and she shook her head slightly.

"I'm unsure. I didn't attempt to do anything."

Silver tilted his head slightly, puzzled by her answer. The mana was centered around her, he knew that for sure. How could she have not done anything? You had to do something to call upon mana, especially one with effects like that. Biting his lip again, Silver nodded slightly, coming to a decision.

"Would you mind trying it again?"

She shook her head once more, and he stepped to the side to allow the girl to attempt the marvelous feat once more. But no light came and the wind from earlier had stopped with no sign of returning. Silver waited only a minute before the mana fully dispersed, he shook his head.

"Probably just a fluke..."

At that point he turned his head to the commander, with a minor look of concern.

"Everything okay over there?"

"Good, I'll hold you to that promise then."

Marcia turned back, her expression back to the usual. She nodded slowly and turned to walk into her tent, coming back out a moment later with her spear in hand. She whistled and down came another pegasus, Marcia's, it appeared to be.

"Originally I was going to have Caroline fight with me, but since she took a severe beating like that I would like for her to keep out of combat for a while" Marcia said, but then turned to Silver, "However, I do keep true to my word, and I promised you a fight. So if you still wish to challenge me then very well, I'll fight you by myself."

Before Silver could say anything stupid, Kuori nodded in acknowledgement. She didn't understand why the commander would care so much about one soldier, but shrugged it off. Whatever it may be, she had her own reasons. Even though Kuori couldn't comprehend humans and their way of thinking.

"I understand, we will not ask for another fight. No doubt our side is exhausted as well. We shall be taking our leave."

Marcia did not reply, but simply nodded in approval. Then she turned to Caroline, a slight smile on her face.

"Arrange a caravan to take them back." Marcia ordered.

"Yes Milady."

Color fully returned to Caroline's face, the weak smile now strong and bright. It was as if she hadn't been practically killed a couple seconds ago. However, she still moved slowly, leading the way to the edge of the camp. As luck would have it there was the caravan emptied of supplies ready to take them back to the city. Stopping just before the entrance to the caravan, Caroline nodded in respect with the same bright smile.

"This is where I'll see you off. Please don't be strangers, we could definitely use your help in the upcoming battles."

"Of course, it's what we were hired to do in the first place." Kuori said before climbing onto the back of the caravan, a bit happy for the fact that there was nothing in the back to poke or stab at them each time the caravan hit a bump in the road.

Kee, being unable to speak, simply nodded with a sweet smile and followed Kuori onto the back cart. Then the boy bard closed his eyes and began to play a tune on his lute, as the cart slowly began making its way back to the city.
