The boy took the strikes, not even minding his clothing getting soaked, and he slammed his blade into the ground. Some of the floorboards near Silver and Felicia cracked, and then a black substance spilled out to form a dark and ominous-looking black pool of who-knows-what.

Apparently the boy wasn't done. He ran in front of Kuori, dragging his blade as he went, and then swung his large blade downward in a rather obvious attempt to attack, which Kuori dodged. But then the android was greeted with a smack right to the side of the head, followed up by an uppercut with enough force to send her flying, and then a downward smash. She unfortunately landed on her head, and the concussion she received from that first blow to the noggin only worsened.

He would have to get over there before something bad happened. Rushing forward, he raised his foot once more as he stopped, slamming down on the floor below causing a large quake.

Silver dashed forward yet again, knowing that now he had nothing to fear. The boy was paralyzed and pretty much incapable of harming any of the party members. Defeated, the boy glared at the group. These two others, the bard and the card user, were proving to be a great annoyance. He'd have to let them off this time, he was still suffering from the effects of the poison, and he doubt he could fight any longer at this rate. The boy muttered something under his breath, and stabbed his oversized blade into the ground.

"You win this time. But I'll be back."

With that said, the boy reached into his clothes and took out a large jade gem. As soon as he held it up, it began to glow and quickly enveloped him in a flash of light. When everything dimmed again, the boy, his blade, and the black pools on the ground, they were all gone. The only real evidence that the boy was ever here, was the lot of dead bodies on the floor.

As the boy disappeared from sight, Serenity took a step towards the rest of the party, her brow furrowed with worry. She took a moment to look around before she shook her head sadly, silently saying that there was no healing this time. Whatever power she had displayed twice before wasn't going to activate this time, all damage the man had done was irreversible. Turning to Kuori, she took a couple steps in her direction, raising her voice just above a whisper.

"I do believe we owe DSoED a visit. There is nothing more to dwell on here, and we would make better use of our time with her than anywhere else."

"Agreed. I would like to know more about this as well."

However, Kuori wanted to know for a completely different reason. She wanted to know who this person is, what his name was. DSoED must've known this if she sent them off on this mission to combat the evil force that was threatening Eternal Dream. And Kuori could forget that feeling, the feeling of familiarity and maybe even a slight bit of friendship with the boy.

And so they headed back to DSoED's Testing Facility. DSoED was waiting for them, of course she couldn't go anywhere, so it was only natural.

"Salutations. What do you require of me?" the supercomputer said, as the party of four entered the main room.

"We ran into some difficulty while on a mission."

"A young man that we've run into before interrupted the Masquerade Ball along with some dwarves."

"He killed quite a few nobles I might add, while I was in the middle of a dance no less."

Silver and Serenity didn't bother introducing Felicia, being a supercomputer, DSoED probably knew all about her already. And if she didn't it did not matter in the slightest, all that did matter was the trouble they had been facing. Who was the boy that had attacked them? Did he have something to do with the dark forces they had been facing? Was it possible that he was responsible for the activated tower?

"A young man you say? Did he have indigo hair and carried around a massive sword?" the supercomputer replied after a bit of thought.

"Yes, he did." Kuori replied.

"The young man's name is 'Akamu', or 'AK-AMU'. He goes by the latter in this world, but I've got him as the former in my database," DSoED said, "But enough of that, I have a new task for you. Recently a neighboring region has become overly chaotic as the ruler turned into a madman. I have suspicions that a tower may be behind this issue, and I want you four to investigate. However, since the border between the two regions are strictly guarded and none of you have the necessary identifications, you will be aiding a small militia regiment known as the 31st Knight Division."

That was all she had on him? His name? Surely that couldn't be everything that DSoED had on the individual who had tried to kill them. But if she wished to keep the rest of the information secret for now, there was nothing they could say or do to change that. Listening to the rest of what the supercomputer had to say, Silver nodded, choosing to speak for the others.

"Alright then. The Whitewings probably need our help anyway, every fighter they can get will help them. Can you transport us to their camp then?"

"Ak-...Akamu..." Kuori said to herself then became silent.

"Yes, I can transport you there. Initiating Warp Prism in t minus 3...2...1..." the supercomputer replied before a crystal hovered over the party, and the party was quickly broken down into particles before being transported and reassembled right outside the encampment of the Whitewings.

"W-we're back here?" Kee was obviously frightened of this place, after what the pink-haired commander had done to him the last time.

"Don't worry Kee, we know the Whitewings now, everything will be fine."

With a reassuring smile, Serenity's hand was placed on Kee's shoulder with a caring touch. It was obvious he was freaked out by what had happened last time the party had visited the Whitewings. But this time it was different, they knew better than to wander around and they also knew the commander now. Everything would be perfectly fine.

During all this time, ever since DSoED had mentioned the name "Akamu", Kuori was completely silent. And she seemed to be spacing out, lost deep within her own thoughts. Something was troubling her.

"Akamu...Aka-cha~? No...it couldn't be..." Kuori muttered to herself.

When Kee tugged on her arm to tell her they were ready to go, Kuori nearly jumped out of her skin, err...metal.

"Huh?! What? Oh...right. Let's go" Kuori said and went into the camp, hoping that this mission would help take her mind off things.

The group barely took three steps before a voice rang out to all of them.

"Hey you guys!"

Before they could blink Caroline had rushed over to the party of five, a large smile on her face contrasting the armor she was dressed in. Unlike her typical light metal plating and leather combination she was adorned with tough metal plating. And unlike her typical light weight, wind resistant spear, she carried what appeared to be a heavy metal spear specifically made for devastating attacks. It was almost as if her purpose in the Whitewings had drastically changed in the one day they had been gone.

"You couldn't have come at a better time, we could use all the help we can possibly get!"

"Oh, hello to you too Caroline." Kuori said, returning the girl's smile with one of her own, "Yes well it's what we were hired to do anyway."

Kuori took in the girl's new appearance, and a sound, much like one for a shutter, clicked. Kuori had taken a photo of the girl's new look, she was an android after all, she needed a way to remember things since more than half of her brain was mechanical. Her earlier focus on the indigo-haired boy was now redirected to wondering what was with this girl's getup.

"If you don't mind me asking, what's with the new look?" Kuori asked.

"Oh this? Well, we're heading out to the front lines today. I need to be able to defend myself which is a lot easier with these metal plates."

Caroline nodded in response, her expression still bright and cheery despite what they would have to be doing. Going onto the front lines of a dangerous battlefield was not exactly something one would expect another to be happy to do. But she was so carefree about it, like she had been doing this her whole life, which obviously was not the case.

But before any of them could say anything, Caroline turned, the smile still on her face without looking at them.

"Come on now, Lady Marcia will want to see you all before we head out."

Kuori nodded and followed Caroline through the camp, which was extra busy, with the soldiers all clad in much more armor than last time they were seen with. Some of them were even covering parts of their Pegasus with chainmail in order to protect them from weapons better. It was rather odd, seeing the Whitewings all in such getup, looked like they were serious this time.

When the group reached the large tent belonging to the pink-haired commander, they saw that Marcia's Pegasus was not changed at all. It still only had the reigns and saddle, nothing more. And the Pegasus was casually grazing in a small patch of grass beside the tent. Inside, Marcia was also in her usual attire, a red breastplate worn over a white linen shirt with gold trimming. She was seated at her table, with a large map and several smaller ones, with a quill pen and several bottles of ink beside them. She seemed to have been discussing strategy and tactics with someone just a while ago.

"I was wondering when you'd get here." Marcia said, looking up, "Thank you for bringing them Caroline."
