"Ahhh!!!"

A sudden violent explosion caused Silver to stumble forward, falling to the ground like a knocked over domino. But he pulled himself back to his feet in an instant, his head darting around violently. He had just heard a scream, a loud, terrified scream. And it was Serenity.

His eyes darted in the direction from which the explosion had knocked him, a large amount of smoke clearing. Silver's eyes widened with terror, had the young girl been hit in the crossfire? Tears began to well in his eyes, as the smoke started to show the destruction around him. But then, there was relief.

With the smoke reaching the end of its clearing, it revealed none other than Felicia and Serenity, the latter cowering behind the former. A large card was summoned in front of the gambler, charred and pretty much destroyed. Silver couldn't express how nice it felt to see them safe and sound, because they instantly were next to the rest of the party.

"It seems miss Audrey wished to make a grand entrance..."

"Good, we should get back to Marcia-" Kuori started before she was abruptly cut off.

"No need," came Alexis's voice from behind Silver, "we have a plan."

Alexis was already in his armor, he hadn't been able to get a chance to change out of it since last night, while Marcia had gone back into her tent to change into her battle regalia. The male Whitewing had his large sword stuck in the dirt, and he had a determined look which completely contradicted the frightened visage he had last night when they first talked about Audrey.

"I've served under General Audrey before, so I know her tank very well." Alexis explained, "Its name is the Narcissus, and it is a behemoth of a tank. However, inside the tank there should be at least four core reactors helping keep the tank running. Each one we damage to a certain degree, enough for it to shut down, will weaken the Narcissus. And if we destroy those we essentially disable the Narcissus completely. That will be your job, the Whitewings will be in charge of stalling the Narcissus and the other tanks' advance, to prevent them from destroying our camp. After disabling the Narcissus I want you to immediately apprehend Audrey, she should be no match for you in actual combat."

"And you're sure she's in there?"

Felicia was rather skeptical, her brow slightly furrowed, her lips set in a downward curve. She wasn't pleased with the seemingly lack of information. Though it was likely Audrey was behind this all, the chances of her being inside the tank weren't great. She could be far away from all the chaos with some technology to watch the onslaught.

"Yes, the Narcissus is Audrey's personal tank. It is the crown jewel of her entire battalion. She would never let anyone else pilot it." Alexis answered, "I also advise you to split into two groups. Narcissus has two entrances that are barely connected to each other, so it would be faster if you split up."

"Very well, this should not be too difficult." Kuori replied, "I am ready whenever the others are."

To this Kee nodded, still holding his lute and staring out into the distance. The sound of cannon shells hitting the ground were still all around them, and the distant figures of the Empire's tanks were slowly becoming not-so-distant. They would have to make this fast if they wanted to save the Whitewing camp.

Moments later the preparation was complete, and four Whitewings flew overhead. They skillfully avoided the attacks of the tanks, and landed their Pegasi on top of the general's armored vehicle. One of the soldiers gave the group a smile and a "good luck" before the four of them took off again. However...

"Fire!"

The sound of something being fired was heard, and indeed four missiles were speeding through the air, aimed directly at the four Whitewings. The Pegasus Knights, unable to avoid the fast projectiles in time, were all hit one by one, and for each of them hit an explosion appeared in the sky. Kuori stared at the sky, knowing that they would not even be able to find the remains of these four soldiers anymore.

It seemed they would have to fight in teams, and since they seemed to work well enough together, Kuori could take Kee. She would probably need the extra support, seeing as the other two had moves to help themselves.

Her tank's weapons were disabled, and three more people stormed into her tank. It was only a matter of time before they arrived, and when they do, the general knew she would not be able to defeat them in combat. It was over, she had lost.

"Heed me, Landseal soldiers. I hereby officially surrender this battle." Audrey spoke through speakers in the tank, "I will open the doors to negotiate the terms of my surrender."

The gates to the command chamber opened, just as the general had promised. And the party as well as the four Whitewing soldiers all entered. With Marcia of course being the one leading the line of people. Audrey sat at her seat, an indifferent expression on her face. But one could tell she was not pleased, but what could she do about it?

"So, what do you want in exchange for letting me go?" the general asked.

"You think we're letting you go?"

Silver was off in the farthest corner, fists clenched tightly. Without even having to move a finger, the general was lifted from her seat. Mana acting around her to keep her in place. However, Silver wasn't able to continue as he would have liked, Felicia put an arm on him. He dropped the the commander roughly back into her seat, fuming slightly. The young 'mage' looked in the direction of the gambler, eyes full of distaste.

"Don't let your emotions get the better of you. You're not in charge of this... Marcia is."

The commander stood up, eyes narrowing at the enemy general. Now defeated she was at their mercy. She, this one woman had caused the Whitewings so much grief, she had brutally shot countless soldiers right out of the sky, her tanks had completely razed nearly half their camp, and she had been the source of some of her best subordinates' pain.

"For all that you've caused, you deserve the death sentence. But the Whitewings aren't mindless murderers. My subordinates and these other four will take a vote." Marcia announced, "Your fate is in their hands. Best say your prayers just in case we choose to execute you."

Silver began to lift the general right then and there, as if he wasn't going to wait for the others to vote. But Felicia once again put her arm on him, causing the general to fall back into her seat. Silver glared over at the gambler who stared back with disinterested eyes. She didn't care if he was angry, he would listen to what Marcia had said. She won.

"Kill her."

"I don't care. Shut her up if you want, makes you no better than her."

"Do as you wish Marcia. I trust your judgement."

Caroline nodded at her best friend, knowing fully well that whatever Marcia wanted to do was the right choice. And the gambler did bring up a good point, killing her would make them no better than her. Fang however, had a different idea, readying her spear as if she would run the girl through already.

"For once a Mage has a point. Kill her. She's caused too many problems."

"It does not matter whether she is alive or dead." Kuori said wisely.

And indeed, for someone as prideful as Audrey, suffering this loss means the end of her success as the undefeated general of the Empire. Even if they had to fight her again, she would be much less of a formidable opponent, not to mention according to Alexis, they had already taken down Audrey's ace int he hole, the Narcissus. She had absolutely nothing left anyway.

"Audrey, I know for a fact both Marcia and I would not like to see any more blood spilled this day, whether it be of Landseal's or the Empire's men." Alexis said, "Return to the Empire. The next time you're put into this situation, we may not be there to save your life."

With that Audrey threw her head back and laughed, but quickly stopped herself and nodded.

"I can't believe I'm being lectured by my old protege. You've finally beat me Alexis."

"No!"

Felicia attempted to grab Silver, but he shook her away violently. Clenching his fists so tightly his knuckles turned white, the former "undefeatable" general was lifted yet again. Only this time, Felicia wasn't able to stop him from throwing her against the wall.

"She can't stay alive!"

If she had any time to recover from the first slam, she didn't have time for the second. Silver's eyes blazed with rage, tears streaming down his cheeks. His fists clenched tighter and she began to be tossed faster. Back and forth between the walls of the small room, hitting both ceiling and floor.

"People like her only continue to cause pain!"

Audrey had no time to react at all, being toss across the room like a rag doll, slamming against walls. She was being tossed around so much that she didn't even have time to catch her breath to even cry out in pain. The only sounds were of the general's body slamming against the metal walls in the room. The boy was going to kill her if he didn't stop soon.

SMACK!

Alexis had smacked the boy with his hand, still wearing a metal gauntlet. He glared at the boy, grabbing him by his shirt collar and lifting him a few inches off the ground.

"Did you not hear what we just said? We're letting her go. And that's final." Alexis reminded Silver.

Audrey was released from the grip of mana, dropping to the floor in mid slam. Silver, though in great pain from the gauntlet smack, remained as furious as ever. Though he couldn't focus it in his current state, surges of mana lightly pushed at everyone. The Mana Expert kicked and thrashed, but soon came to a stop exhausted and hyperventilating.

"S...she... can't... pl... please... just.... just.... fin.... finish her."

Silence, now there was no one speaking in the entire room. No one even making a sound. The only thing anyone could hear was the enraged boy's breaths. After a moment, Marcia finally broke the silence.

"No, I will not allow another drop of blood to be shed unless it is mine own." Marcia said, "If you wish to take anyone's life, then you must first kill me."

He began to struggle even more against the male Whitewing's grip to no avail. It seemed he had truly gone mad. Willing to kill another just to be rid of the general. It couldn't just be that he hated her so; While she had caused a great deal of pain, there was no way he would be willing to kill a friend to get rid of an enemy. There was something seriously wrong with Silver.

Before anyone else could do anything, the sound of a gunshot could be heard. Everyone turned their attention toward the only person who could have done it, the android girl. Their suspicions were correct, as the girl had her right arm raised and her index finger pointed toward the angry boy. A small wisp of smoke rising from her finger.

"Target neutralized. Disarming tranquilizer bullet." Kuori announced.

The battle was over, Audrey and her troops had all pulled back into Empire territory, and on the ravaged Whitewing camp the cheers of the surviving Whitewing soldiers, even the mortally wounded, filled the air. It was a great achievement for them, they had accomplished something that the army could not. They, a mere militia force, was able to take down one of the finest generals and greatest tacticians the Empire had to offer. Tomorrow they would hold a burial service for the numerous Whitewing soldiers shot out of the sky during this past hour.

During the celebration, Marcia emerged from the crowds of people. She was looking for someone, a special person she wanted to talk to. The battle was finally over, they would finally have the time to talk about some certain things. And it wasn't long before Marcia found Caroline, her second-in-command.

"Caroline, you did good out there. Couldn't have done it without you." Marcia said, holding out her gloved hand.

Caroline didn't bother with the handshake, instead she wrapped her arms around Marcia with a large smile. They had survived, neither of them had died during the war. They weren't separated by one of their deaths, and they wouldn't be. She eventually let go of Marcia, a large smile plastered to her face.

"No need to be so formal, Marcia."
