Chapter One: Washed Ashore...

Log Entry ~1~

Dawn.

Spoiler:
I find myself washed ashore on a remote place, I don't know where it is, but I do know that we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto. ...Toto? Toto! ...Looks like I'm really all alone, not even my dog was given back to me...sniff...No, it's too late to give up! I must move on and survive! For my darling Toto...
I find myself rather lucky to not have washed up on the ice forming not too far away. That would have been dangerous. After taking a look around, I decide it would be a good idea to build a shelter from the rain and bugs.

Spoiler:
After creating a makeshift-shelter for myself, I attempt to make a work bench of sorts, where I can sit down and make necessary supplies for survival. At this point, I start to feel a little hungry, and very tired. So very tired. But it's still midday. I have to keep working until there isn't enough light left to ensure my safety.
I never really tried this before, but I had a relative who was a blacksmith, and he showed me a little on how to make tools and such, so I tried it out for myself by making a pickaxe and a shovel. I also create a make-shift furnace of sorts, where I burn wood to make some charcoal for torches, a secondary light source. In order to make the furnace, I had to harvest some stone with my pickaxe. I simply went outside and found a small bit to start me off.

Spoiler:
Curious about what lies beneath all this sand, I begin digging down, making sure to leave myself plenty of space to climb back up to my hut. You can't be too careful in an alien world like this. I begin digging down, the stress and the hard work taking a toll on my mind and body. Every thrust of my shovel or pickaxe has me rolling with agony, I can hardly take it. But once again, my curiosity is sparked as I see a very familiar ore, iron. With my newly-crafted stone pick, I am able to harvest it without harming the ore inside. In order to actually use the ore, however, I have to smelt it. And that's exactly what I do.
Spoiler:
I take a look outside as I smelt the iron, and see that the day has already ended. I had spend half of my time gathering wood and making shelter, and the rest of it setting up camp. It seems that I am finally able to rest...I think I'll do that. Yes, a good night's sleep sounds...very...nice...

Chapter Two: Odd Creatures...Hostiles!

Log Entry 2

Dusk

Spoiler:

Even though I want to sleep, I feel burdened by the things I am carrying. I go to my workbench for the final time today and craft a sort of storage bin. It was easier to make this than the furnace, and I'm glad. So, after putting some things inside the chest, I place down some cloth I sheared from a sheep and lay down to rest. The night is quiet except for the footsteps of nearby livestock, roaming around. At times I hear one of them squeaking, but besides that, my rest is undisturbed.

Twilight before Dawn.

Spoiler:

I awaken early in the morning, the sun just barely starting to rise. I get up and walk to my door, and upon opening it, I see various...things in the distance. Curious, I continue to watch them. A thin, green creature is walking about on four legs, and a humanoid-like creature is nearby. I quickly shut the door and go to my chest to gather some supplies before heading out. I'm surprised. The humanoid is nowhere to be found, but I can still make out the green creature in the distance.
Shutting the door behind me, I slowly walk out towards the creature. It spots me after awhile and starts running after me. Slightly confused, I back off a little, but when I hear a hissing noise, I jump backwards and the creature explodes! Stunned, I can only look at the damage caused to the terrain.
Spoiler:
After pulling away from the shocking event, I set my priorities and begin hunting for livestock. I need warmth and food desperately, and the explosion from before really took a number on my safety. I find some cow and pig and sheep and chicken, and begin to kill them and harvest whatever I can get off of them. The cows give me plenty of leather for clothing, the sheep give their wool, and the pigs give their meat for food.
Once I think I have gathered enough, I head back to my makeshift shelter and begin to cook the meat and use the leather to make myself a tunic. I eat the pork to regain my health, the savory taste of the meat bringing me back to my senses, my hunger fading away and being replaced by strength.

Evening

As the sun goes down, I begin to grow tired. I feel warm and full from the meal, even though it was just one piece of meat that I ate, it was better than the nothing I ate last night. As the darkness falls, I suddenly begin to hear noises from outside, and it isn't the livestock! I hear moaning and groaning, and something that sounded vaguely like "brains" in a long, drawn out moan. That humanoid I saw before was actually a zombie! I never believed in zombies before because I never saw one, but this had to have been a zombie! No wonder it disappeared...
The zombie gave out another moan and I jumped back against the opposite wall. I knew the zombie couldn't reach me through my shelter of wood, but I was still frightened by the noises. I slowly crept to my newly-crafted bed, in hopes that sleep will cut off the noises coming from outside.

Morning

I snap awake, noises from outside rousing me from my heavy sleeping. It sounds as though the "zombies" outside are in pain, which means that they cannot survive in sunlight. Suddenly, it becomes quiet. Have the zombies perished? Perhaps a little look outside will help...
I walk outside and look around. I don't see any zombies so far, but a green creature, the same kind as before, has spotted and is approaching me! In a quick instant, I stop thinking and grab my sword of stone and attack it before it has a chance to explode. It hisses a few times at me, but on the final beat, I am able to strike it down! Curiously, the beast was made of sulfur, or gunpowder in other words. I picked it up, and because I do, I can see the faint outline of an undead humanoid in the water. It must not have burned to death from the sun because of the water.
I go close to the zombie in order to draw it's attention. Once it spots me, I dash to safety, getting up as high as I can. The zombie follows me, but is unable to climb up to where I am. It seems that these creatures are hostile and want me dead for some reason. Both the green creatures and the zombies.

Spoiler:

I may not know many things about this place, but I know one thing for sure. I'm not welcome here.
