World of Adventure
A nice and simple one-on-one roleplay between Masq and me. In other words, I'm the Game Master, Xenosaga here! There really isn't much point in this roleplay other than to have fun and stuff. XD The two of us will only have one character each so we don't have a lot to work with but our characters will prevail against anything and everything! X333333
Anyway, this is a sort of mini-project for me to get better at this Game Master stuff so it might get a little slow at some places. For those of you who find yourselves watching our adventure unfold, please enjoy!
The World began with no name. It was, what it was. There was no need to name it, everyone knew all that needed to be known.
And then, one day, someone slipped. “Ah, this is like Eden.”
And the world became known as “Eden”.
Our story begins in a little village named Azule, which sits by the seaside and makes its living mainly by fishing. Here, we shall be introduced to our two young ones who intend on becoming full-fledged adventurers!

Re: World of Adventure
It was finally time. She had been waiting for so long, ever since she was five. Eyes the color of the sea on a bright sunny day peered out the open window to gaze at the beautiful waters. Today was wonderful, a perfect day for what was to come. With the skies as clear as they were now, it meant good things in the horizon. A smile of pure happiness spread across her face and, unable to contain her excitement any longer, the young, just turned sixteen, girl spun around, her light brown bangs whipping around her face.
"Grandpa!" she called out to the old man, scrambling away from the window and out the door to her room. "Grandpa!" She dashed through the hall, down the stairs, jumped the last two steps and grabbed the door frame to the living room, pivoting so she was right in the doorway. "Grandpa, I'm going now!"
The elderly old man chuckled quietly at her words. "Now, now Nella," he began patiently, gripping his cane tightly as he pushed himself up out of his seat on his old rocking chair. Clutching a small brown bag in his other hand, he held it out. "Aren't you forgetting something?" Nella blushed.
"Oh, thank you Grandpa!" the little brunette gushed, rushing over to his side and taking the offered bag. Slinging it over her head, she adjusted it comfortably at her side before whipping her head up to smile brightly at her grandfather. The old man returned the smile, happy but with a hint of sadness within it. Noticing it, her smile dimmed and her eyes darkened to a deep sea blue. "Oh, Grandpa. . . ."
Her grandfather shook his head. "There is no need to make that face, Nella," he whispered softly, reaching up to pat her gently on the head. "I admit, I will miss you very much while you are gone but knowing that you are doing this to fulfill your dream fills me with more happiness than you can imagine." Nella bit her lip at his words, feeling tears gathering in the corner of her eyes. "No crying now, child. This is supposed to be a happy occasion."
"I'm so sorry, Grandpa," the girl choked out, unable to hide the guilt that racked her being. "It's just, you're all I have left and I. . . I'm just leaving you here." She sucked in a breath, trying so hard to hold back her tears. "But I. . . I can't bring myself not to leave. I've been wishing for it for so long that I. . . !" Nella broke off, sobbing as she was no longer able to keep her tears at bay. "I'm so, so sorry, Grandpa. . . . .!"
"Nella." At the stern tone in her grandfather's voice, the still little girl raised her head, sniffling. Her grandfather looked at her, his face and stature so strong and so different from the frail old man he had become. Nella felt her breath catch in her throat, remembering the awe she held for him whenever he told her about his own adventures. "I will not allow you to carry along this burden with you. As an adventurer, you must become as free as the wind, going wherever you fancy. Spread your wings, Nella, and you can soar through even the sky one day." And then, he smiled, replacing that strength with the gentleness of the Grandpa she knew so well. "I understand, Nella, and that is enough for me."
Nella wiped her tears from her face and eyes. "Okay," she said, raising her head and giving him a big smile. "But I'll still write to you, Grandpa. I'll tell you all about the adventures Salem and I will go on! I won't leave out even a single detail! And then . . . and then, one day, I'll have an even bigger adventure than you!" The brunette felt herself blush at her words but didn't retract her statement, her smile still on her face.
"I know you will, Nella," her grandfather murmured, relaxing his shoulders and his own smile grew. "I know." He gazed at her for a moment, gray eyes seeming to look at something past her. After a moment, he spoke. "I have something for you."
"What is it, Grandpa?" Nella inquired, smiling dropping to adopt an expression of curiosity. The old man smiled secretively before reaching into his front shirt pocket and pulling something out. Her eyes widened at the sight of it and the blue in her eyes almost seemed to glow. "Isn't that. . . ?!"
"It was your father's wedding gift to your mother," the elderly man confirmed, holding out his hand to her. Nella brought her hands to her mouth in shock, unable to tear her gaze from the item. "A pin crafted after the Flower of Promise I had found in my adventurer days." Nella shook her head, unable to believe it. She had no words. Seeing this, the old man chuckled. "Nella, I won't let you say you won't take it."
Nella swallowed hard, eyes flickering from her grandfather's face to the pin in his hand and back again. Slowly, she reached out a shaking hand to take the small treasure from his palm. Mouth parted in awe, the girl carefully grasped it. Emotions flashed through her expressive eyes faster than they could be discerned and then, the brunette breathed. Straightening her back, she brought the pin to her hair and, with steady hands, pulled up a bang and pinned it in place. Feeling stronger than ever before, Nella held her head high as she spoke.
"Thank you, Grandpa," she said, voice thick with emotion.
The old man smiled. "You are welcome, child." Unable to hold back, Nella stepped forward and brought her arms around her grandfather, hugging him with a careful touch. He was no longer as strong as he used to be and if she held him too tight, she feared she would break his very bones. Her grandfather patted her back with his free hand, unable to let go of his cane least he fall.
The two stayed like that for a long, long while. When they finally pulled apart, Nella was trying to wipe tears from her eyes again.
"Now then," the old man began once her face was clear. He looked around. "Where's that boy friend of yours?"

Re: World of Adventure
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" a harsh voice came from the doorway to Salem's room. Standing there was his older sister, hands on her hips with a discontented look upon her face. She gazed at her brother's room; it was completely tidy. One of her eyes twitched. "You cleaned? Sheesh, we'd let you stick around if you'd help out more often," she shot at the boy, though it was in a joking manner. Over the many years, Salem had become used to it, and she had grown used to his responses. As roughly as they treated each other, there was a definite love present.
Salem himself, fully dressed with his cloak draped over his body and kerchief around his neck, stood up from his desk, now completely dust-free and the trinkets that rested upon it were in a decent order, arranged to perfection. He had been writing something down awkwardly on some scraps of paper that he quickly tucked into one of his shorts pockets. He grimaced at his sister and crossed his own arms. "It's not like I'm getting kicked out of the house. I'm leaving of my own accord, not that you'd understand. You're required around these parts to be the cleaning wench that you are. 'Tis all you will ever amount to," Salem took care to articulate his words very precisely to further amplify the mocking tone in his voice. He waved his hand in a condescending manner before pushing past the girl in the doorway and heading down the wooden stairs, the girl following him and glowering at him all the way.
"Oh well, look at this," another female voice sounded through the house as Salem entered the living room. A woman was standing by the doorway leading out. It was Salem's mother. "I see you're taking that cloak I made you. You know how much soul I put in it," she said with a gentle smile. "It will keep you safe while you're fighting dangerous monsters and what have you."
"I'm...very glad you're so nonchalant about that, Mother," Salem replied flatly, a slightly disturbed look on his face.
"Hey, I'm going to go clean seeing as how that's all I'm good for. You better write to me...even if it's from inside a monster's stomach, got it?" his sister demanded before stomping away to the kitchen without awaiting a response.
Salem rolled his eyes and hugged his mother. "Is Dad at work?"
"Sorry to say he is. I'll let him know you took off," his mother said, rubbing his hair before giving him a kiss on the forehead. "You'd better hurry. You don't want to keep your friend waiting right?"
"Oh, that's a good point. Well, I'll make sure to come back when I make it as a big-time adventurer. Just you wait," he said, giving his mom one last smile and a wave before opening the door and leaving his house behind. "Well, this is it." With that, he walked through the streets of the village until he reached Nella's house. He raised his fist and knocked on the door, standing there awaiting an answer.

Re: World of Adventure
"You mean Salem?" Nella inquired, completely missing the mischievous gleam in her grandfather's eyes as he nodded at her reply. She bit her lip and tapped her chin. "It's still early so he might still be asleep. I should go-"
Nella found herself interrupted by the sound of knuckles knocking against wood. Eyes widening as she realized who it was, a grin spread across her face and she spun around.
"I'm coming, Salem!" she shouted and was about to dash over to the door when a wrinkly hand grasped her wrist in a firm grip. Stopping herself just before she tripped and dragged her grandfather with her, she turned to blink back at him. The old man motioned at her to help him and Nella nodded in understanding. Gently grabbing hold of the elderly man's arm, she carefully guided him toward the door.
Upon reaching it, with her free hand, she grabbed hold of the handle and tugged it open. Seeing the boy on the other side, Nella brightened.
"Morning Salem!" she chirped cheerfully, her face free of any sign that she had cried.

Re: World of Adventure
Salem seemed a bit taken aback by the blast of happy he got as Nella opened the door, but he had to figure she was excited about setting out. He was probably just as excited, though he wasn't one to let that go flying everywhere. Regardless, it was nice to see that she was so happy. "Good morning, Nella," he said politely, nodding to her with a smile. "I hope I wasn't late or anything. You said morning, so here we are. My family didn't keep me around for a long-winded goodbye. They know I can take care of myself, so I'll see them again after we've done what we set out to do," he explained, but realized he was probably talking too much.
The morning air was tinted with the warm breeze coming from the sea. It made Salem's cloak wave just a bit. It was one of the reasons he liked the thing so much. "So, um....yeah. Are you ready to go? I figured you'd be ready to speed off into the distance, ready to challenge what awaits in the unknown...and stuff like that. You know, like you would read in a book or something?" He peered through the door to notice that Nella's grandfather was nearby. "Oh, good morning to you too, Sir. I knew you'd be up to see Nella off," he greeted formally, though casual and formal didn't mean much to him.

Re: World of Adventure
At Salem's words, Nella blushed furiously, incredibly embarrassed at herself. She wasn't usually this enthusiastic! But she couldn't help it. They were finally going off on their journey. All they needed to do now was head to the city of Rubidel and enter a guild!
"Yeah, I'm ready," she answered in a mumble as she hung her head to hide her red face, toeing the floor shyly. "Grandpa made sure of that."
"Can't have you going on an adventure unprepared now," the old man stated, smiling pleasantly at the young man. "And good morning to you as well, Salem. I will entrust Nella to your care now." He bowed deeply, causing Nella to blush even harder. She pouted, looking off to the side. "Raise your head, Nella. It's the beginning of your adventure, after all. Have to keep your head held high now."
"Yes, Grandpa," Nella complied, obediently raising her head. She stepped out the door to stand at Salem's side and then smiled softly at the old man. "I'll be going now, Grandpa."
"Both of you, take care," the elderly man nodded at the two. "Remember, gather all the resources that you can. You never know what might come in handy. And sometimes, you have to do things you don't want to do. Steel your heart during those times." He then waved a hand at Nella's bag. "I've put what you need for this trip to the city. The creatures here shouldn't be hard for you two to handle."
"Thanks Grandpa," Nella thanked, a somewhat sad smile on her face. The old man returned the smile before using his cane to walk away. Nella watched her grandfather disappear from her sight before turning to her friend. "I'm a little scared but let's do our best!"

Re: World of Adventure
"She'll be safe as long as I'm around," Salem replied to the elderly man. He wasn't embarrassed about the statement at the time, but he'd come to regret it a little later. For now, he looked to his side where Nella had joined him. "Thank you for everything, Sir. The advice and supplies." He watched as the man went back into the house leaving Salem and Nella outside. This was it. There was nothing left to do but go. But he had forgotten something.
"You don't have to be worried. I'll protect you," Salem repeated, telling her directly as he had told her grandfather. "I've been practicing really hard at fighting. I think I've gotten a lot better. Oh, and I...I have something for you," he said, his voice faltering a bit as he grew a little nervous. He reached into his shorts pocket and pulled out the scraps of paper he had stuffed in there earlier before he left his house. Upon closer inspection, they each had some weird symbols drawn on them...that really just looked like chicken scratch. He handed them over to Nella.
"I was thinking...you know. I know you have your magic, so I thought you could use this weapon," he explained, looking down to the side a bit with a slight blush. "They're talismans that you can use to focus your magic. I know they're not really good...but I thought it would be nice to have something, at least for the start of our endeavors..."

Re: World of Adventure
It was a shock to say the least. Nella stared, unable to say anything as gazed down at Salem's work in shock. Slowly raising her gaze to look from the talismans to her friend's face, she felt her own face warm at the blush that visible on the boy's cheeks. Looking back down at the handmade talismans, Nella reached out and carefully took the slips of paper with gentle hands. She gazed at them, mouth parted in wonder at the items.
Sure, to others they would have looked like useless pieces of paper, but to her. . . To her, it was so much more. To think that he had actually taken the time to make them for her, despite the embarrassment that would definitely come with it at the risk of his family finding out, Nella could feel the tears gathering in her eyes. Warmth filled her chest and she brought the talismans to her breast.
"Thank you, Salem," she said, raising her head to give the boy a smile of pure happiness. "Thank you so much. I'll never let these go. They'll be my treasure." As she said these words, one of her hands moved toward the flower pin in her hair. They would both be her treasures. Nella mentally laughed. The adventure had just begun and already, she had found two of the most precious treasures of all.

Re: World of Adventure
Salem scratched the back of his head and smiled back. "Gah, you don't have to thank me. I thought it would come in handy," he said, trying to get the redness off his face. He took a deep breath and dropped his hands back down to his sides nonchalantly. Apparently, it had been a good idea to draw them up. She was so easily overjoyed by the shoddy talismans, not because they were talismans, but because he had given them to her. Or, at least that's what he figured. All that mattered to him was that she was happy with them. He shook his head and looked down the road.
"Should we get going now that we're all set? It would seem like a waste if we stayed here any longer. We're so close to becoming real adventurers, after all," he stated gently, gesturing towards the way out of the village. It was a life-changing day. It would never be the same again. It would be a day forever embedded in Salem's memory. His family. The smiling, blushing Nella. The sensation of the sea breeze blowing through, as if saying farewell to them as well. It was time.

Re: World of Adventure
"Of course," Nella agreed, now unable to keep the smile off her face. She took a step forward, toward the village gate. It was time for them to go. Though she didn't want to, as she began walking, Nella found herself sending a wistful glance back at her home.
Home. For sixteen years, this was where she was born and raised. For Salem, it was fifteen. This was the place which would forever hold a place in their hearts. The thought made Nella inexplicably happy. Turning away, she clutched the talismans to her chest and, with her head held high, took her first step toward her dream.
Grandpa Joe held the picture in his hand with gentle eyes. "I suppose it's in the blood," he whispered before smiling and placing the photo back where it belonged. "Nella and Salem." The old man chuckled and shook his head. "Never thought I would see the day I allowed one of my granddaughters to go out on an adventure with a boy. Ann would laugh her heart out if she were to see me today."
And then he fell silent. His once strong but now frail legs unable to support him any longer, Grandpa Joe moved to sit in his rickety old rocking chair. Placing his cane to lean against the table next to it, the old man began to rock back and forth. Back and forth. Seconds of this passed with the sounds of squeaking emitting every time the chair moved. And then, he stopped. With a shaking hand, he covered his eyes.
"Never lose hope, Nella. Salem." And a lone, solitary tear trailed down his old and wrinkled cheek, dropping from his chin to hit the wooden floor with an inaudible splash.
Meanwhile, back with our group of two, Nella was staring out at the scenery in a new light. Despite having seen in within the safety of the village, it was different now. In all honestly, Nella had never left the village before. The furthest she had ever gone out of the village was on a fishing trips with her grandfather. She stepped closer to Salem to seek comfort but realized what she was doing and held herself back.
"We should be able to reach Rubidel in two days as long as we follow the path," she stated, referring to the worn dirt path leading away from their village. Trees lined the edge of the path but far enough that it didn't feel imposing. "I wonder what we'll see there?" She felt her mind wander as her imagination got the best of her.

Re: World of Adventure
Salem looked straight ahead, taking peeks at the trees on the side of the path only every so often. They smelled good. It was different from in the heart of the village where all you could smell was salt and fish...well, that was closer to the wharf and the market, but it was a big smell back there. But this area was different. He'd come out to train every so often when he was younger. Not very far, of course. With his shoddily crafted weapons, he'd attack the trees and shrubbery. When he came home, his dad would always pick on him asking if the trees were too tough for him.
Walking down the path brought those memories back to him, but he shrugged them off for the time being. He had to stay alert. For Nella. "Your guess is as good as mine," he answered after thinking on it for a few moments. "I've never been to the place myself. I guess it's a good thing," he added with a smile. "It'll just be that more of a surprise when we actually get there. I imagine to be a lot of big buildings though. And the streets will be jammed with people rushing all over the place. It might not be that busy, but that's how I think such an important place would be."

Back at the Verzolt residence in the village, Salem's sister was set, scrubbing the floors as best she could, though they were already fairly clean as it was. Salem's mom was washing up a few dishes. There was a tense silence filling the room. All that could be heard was the running water and the movement of the dishes along with the sound of the scrubbing of the floor. After many moments of that tension, the mother finally finished, drying her hands on a towel.
"Miss your brother yet, Aryl?" Mother asked with a weary sigh. She didn't know about her daughter, but there was definitely a hole in her heart that would only grow with each day that her son was off adventuring, getting into who knows what kind of trouble. She had to play it tough for him when he left, but she couldn't help but worry.
"Nah, he can stay gone for a few years for all I care," Aryl shot back lightheartedly at her mother, only to get a dirty dish rag thrown at her. "Heey!" she shouted in protest before standing up with a grimace. "I'll miss the little twerp in due time, but right now, let's just let him go. This will be good for the little weakling. He now has a goal...and something to protect," she explained, watching as her mom's expression softened back up again.
"You're right. And if he doesn't write to us, that means we'll have to go on an adventure ourselves to punish him, right?" she said, a defiant look gracing her elegant visage.
"If you want to get eaten up by monsters, by all means," Aryl replied mockingly. She would have nothing to do with any of that, but for her mom's sake, she hoped that Salem would definitely just keep them in mind. If he ever forgot them, Aryl would be pissed. Her mom though....ready to just set out into the wildnerness after her son. "To each their own. Guess I should be honored to have such a dedicated mother," she whispered to herself, smiling a bit before returning to her work on the floor.

Re: World of Adventure
"It's going to be different from home," Nella murmured, trying imagine the place Salem described. She felt her heart beat faster just thinking about it. "I wonder what sort of guild we'll find there. I hope it's a nice one." Her grandfather had never actually told her what guild he had been in, just the adventures he went on and the people he met. But it had to be a good one.
As the two continued to walk down the dirt path, a rustling in the bushes caught their attention. Quite suddenly, but not expected, three green blobs flew from the shrubbery and landed on the path, blocking their way. The creatures made strange gurgling noises and the one in front suddenly launched a piece of green glob at them!

Re: World of Adventure
Salem starts at G4.
Salem was still thinking about Nella's words concerning the guild. A nice one was all they could hope for at this point. Of course, his thoughts were sent scattering as real monsters dodged out of the surrounding shrubbery to halt their progress. Slimes. Nasty little things. Salem reacted quickly and dodged around Nella to stand in front of her, blocking her off from the enemies, his clawed gloves at the ready, even though they were about as makeshift and shoddy as Nella's talismans.
"Don't worry, Nella; I'll try my hardest not to let them hurt you," he said defiantly, though he was worried. Could he really stop them all without Nella getting hurt? I don't think I'm that strong yet, but that won't stop me from trying, he affirmed in his head, giving himself a slight nod as he prepared for battle.

"It's okay, Salem, I'll be fine," Nella tried to reassure her friend, not liking the thought of him getting hurt on her behalf. She bit her lip as an image of him bleeding flashed through her mind and quickly shook her head. She couldn't think that way, if she did then she would lose focus. "I-I'll support you as best I can."
She could do this, Nella thought as she set her determined gaze on the green slimes in their path. Raising her talismans, her blue eyes glowed as she concentrated. The same blue glow began to surround her talismans and once ready, she thrust a hand out at Salem. A thin blue beam shot out and embedded itself into the boy's body. With their connection established, Nella smiled at the familiar feel of Salem's mana.

Re: World of Adventure
Salem nodded upon hearing Nella's words, and that's when he felt it. She had established the connection. He could feel a lot more mana in his grasp. It was her mana that she offered to him. "I promise I won't waste it. I'll put it to good use," he said boldly before charging up to the nearest slime creature.
Salem moves to D4.
"Hear me now, pathetic creatures! I am the Scourge of the Slime! For as long as I remain standing, you will all be in danger!" he called out to the monsters in a loud voice before raising a claw and slashing down on the one in front of him for emphasis. He looked at his handiwork before bringing the other down to make the creature feel his wrath.

Nella felt her hands tighten their grip on her talismans as she watched her friend be attacked. She felt both anger and distress at her friends predicament. He had done a great deal of damage to the one slime but there were still two more and she felt a sense of unease. She was unable to do anything to lessen the pain her friend was feeling. Biting her lip, Nella closed her eyes and calmed herself.
It was her first battle. It was obvious she would have apprehensions. But Salem was here with her and he was counting on her to support him. She couldn't just fall to pieces here. It had only just begun. With one hand clutching Salem's gifts and the other touching the in in her hair, she opened her eyes and raised her head, steeling herself. She then stepped forward.
[Nella] moves to [G-4].
Unwilling to get in her friend's way, she would only be a distraction, Nella would instead attack from a far. As long as the slimes attacks couldn't reach her, she would be fine and she would be able to concentrate on supporting Salem. Lifting a slip of the paper scribbles, she formed a ball of mana and launched it at the slime Salem was attacking.

[Nella] attacks [Gummi]! 4 INT DMG.

Re: World of Adventure
Salem groaned as the monsters attacked him. It wasn't too bad at all, but the fact that there were three of them bashing into him and...throwing stuff at him... What was it they were throwing? Salem held his stance but glanced down at the ground. Oh...gross, he said, a disgusted look on his face as he saw chunks of the creatures had been lobbed at him. "Nice try, Slimes!" he shouted at the things, trying to keep up his act. "But now, let me show you the true meaning of power!" With that, Salem lashed out wildly at the slime in front of him, claws flashing like a wild animal. Two slashes, and he seemed to calm himself down.

Holding his ground, he awaited the retaliation of the creatures. Nella was doing a fine job not attracting attention, yet still launching attacks from behind...with the weapons he had given her. "Gah, now's not the time to think about stuff like that," he reprimanded himself quietly.
Salem waits.

Re: World of Adventure
"Y-yeah, don't worry. I'm still in pretty good shape," he answered a bit uneasily. His body hurt a bit from the continuous thrashings the slimes handed out, but he was taking it all in stride for the moment. Raising his claws, he brought one down right after the other for simple cuts--all that was needed to finish off the weakened slime in front of him. That would be one down and two to go. He gazed warily at the beings, wanting to run off, but he had to stand his ground. All of his fighting was primarily strengthened by being up close to his foes. Now wasn't the time to flee, especially after he had said all that stuff about being the Scourge of Slimes.

Re: World of Adventure
Salem turned around in time to see the dastardly slime throw a chunk of itself at Nella. His face twisted with just a bit of rage before he slid closer to it, claws raised and trembling. "Let me remind who the Scourge of the Slimes is!" he shouted, putting extra power into his slashes, gladly taking some of Nella's mana to accomplish the task. It felt weird having it mix with his for the attack. It was almost as if a part of her essence was in the attack as well.

All he could do to rectify the situation from here on out was to get stronger. "I think it's more nasty than painful," he added at the end, pointing to the chunk of slime that the thing had thrown at her.

Re: World of Adventure
Salem smiled at hearing Nella lighten up a bit. That's what his goal had been regardless. He didn't want things to seem scary for her. It was up to him to stay relaxed and calm so she didn't get upset or anything over what was going on. He was fairly hurt and his muscles were a bit sore, not to mention he didn't have any mana left, but he still had the link and Nella still needed to be protected. Salem growled a bit before slashing the slime a couple of times with his claws, the power of a wild beast strengthening his attacks.
Salem uses Tiger Fury on Puni! 2 hits! 7 Dmg per hit! (ATK)
Nella's MP: 18/30
"Maybe we should collect some slime and turn it into soup or something," Salem joked. The thought of slime soup nearly made the boy gag, a look of disgust clearly showing on his face as he thought about a bowl filled with steaming green slime.
Salem waits...and nearly vomits.

"Actually, I think Grandpa said Slimes dropped jelly that could be used to make potions," Nella remembered, her mind going back to the time her grandfather told her about the beginnings of his adventures. But then she saw the look of disgust the boy's face and laughed out loud. Calming down, she smiled, despite their situation. "Once we get rid of all of them, should we check if they drop any?"
[Nella] attacks [Sally]. 4 INT DMG.
As she attacked the slime, Nella abruptly noticed that it was getting closer to her. Her eyes widened as she realized what it was trying to do and she bit her lip. It was clear the slime was trying to attack her but there was only so many places she could run to. Not wanting to cause Salem any trouble by getting hurt, the girl quickly stepped to the side, out of the slime's reach.

Re: World of Adventure
"Sure. Sounds like they'd come in handy," Salem replied with a nod. If he remembered correctly, adventurers made a habit of checking the bodies of the monsters they slay for useful stuff. Salem could recall one story of a woman with barbaric strength who would go out and defeat monsters single-handedly and then bring back the entire carcass as a gift for her friend. "If I had a friend like that....just...," Salem whispered to himself, shaking his head. "Ugh, bad time to recall weird stories." He dealt to quick slashes to the weakened slime and used his quick speed to bar the other slime's path to Nella.
Salem attacks Puni! 2 hits! 6 Dmg per hit! (ATK)
Salem moves to G4.
"And where do you think you're going? Getting bored dealing with the Scourge of Slimes? Allow me to make things more interesting," he challenged the thing, claws flashing.
